Find the map: RagnarokSavedArksLocal (or whatever map you are using)

Your save looks like this: Ragnarok.ark <--- rename this to Ragnarok.arkold

Your backup saves look like this Ragnarok_01.02.2018_03.48.05.ark <-- rename this to Ragnarok.ark.

Restart the game and you should be good to go. Make sure you find a save that is before the S+ update. Next time wait for S+ to fully upgrade before starting your singleplayer game and this won't happen again.

that is a really weird error, not something one normally sees from ark. either the shader is corrupt, or the gpu driver is violently incompatible with it for some reason

ok so im on win10. launched the app to play ASA. it said i had an update. ok cool. go to install. says theres a space allocation error. game update says 196.8 gb is needed for an UPDATE. note: i have the base game INSTALLED on my solid state. i have had to completely uninstall the game just to have the extra 196.8gb it needed because silly me only had 113 gb left due to ASA being ON my solid state. so whats going on here?!

think over how a game patch works in a system that supports pausing/resuming patches. every file to be patched needs to first be copied, then the patch is applied to the copy.
ASA is one massive file. entire file has to be copied. same thing for most modern games. shit, skyrim is like that

I can't transfer maps or ascend from defeating the master controller, that's a definite deletion. Now it deletes my character at random. Nah it's not honestly, there ARE quite a few data corrupting bugs rn, and you do have a right to be upset for that. Except for the game deleting itself, yeah, that's a severe system failure you may want to get checked out. But I mean hell, I'd be upset losing my save data. I love Ark and will gladly play Ascended with or without the bugs honestly, but to answer your financial question, wc's in financial trouble. They don't really have a choice to my knowledge. And based on my knowledge of what could be going on w their contract, they could be facing deadlines that make it so they can't really focus on as many bug fixes as they would like. Of course, this is all speculation from an optimist's standpoint, who can't know the full story, so take this with a hefty handful of salt. For me personally, I want to offer some degree of financial support since wc is currently in the negatives to my knowledge, and I WOULD like to see Ark 2 become an actual thing

that is the savefile being erased, not the "game", pretty different thing. unfortunately there is not really a way to prevent that entirely, but it tends to be caused by slow/failing storage, or bad crashes from running out of memory mid-save, on heavily built-up or old saves

So I'm still havin the issue where small creatures with feathers/fur are low textured when I have quite a few mods enabled in singleplayer, I think I figured it out but idky it's happening so in saved data my main account is 3.9MB while my alt accounts are all under 2MB and don't have the same issue as bad as they'll regain the proper textures I don't think there's much of a fix for us to do ourselves "hopefully wildcard might find a resolution unless its a Xbox issue" so in case anyone else is havin similar issues could confirm or disprove this analysis

you are approaching the answer, lol. that is due to memory use exceeding the available amount, preventing stuff from loading. bigger bases/more creatures = more memory use. the larger savefile is related, but not the cause

This is the THIRD time in two weeks this has happened to my tribe. The game will Glitch out and delete our whole inventory. The first time and second time were on the same day a week and a half ago. I DCd and when I reloaded my game my bag was gone. I had lost my top HP wyvern cryopods, milk, and my favorite special colored chibi. That night my partner lost his bag taming gear. When he cryoed a dino (It was on him not the dino). He made sure it didn't have invisibility glitch. Then just now I DC near Ob and low and behold where is my bag? It doesn't exist? The crashing on the PS5 is getting waaaaay out of hand.

Even laying in a bed can cause the game to suddenly crash for no fucking reason!
Then then the time-out lock screen that holds you from joining back within 5 minutes , if you dont time it right you get the time out notification not being able to just use the back button to retry.. no have to switch from official to non official to be able to go back to the main menu.
When all that is out of the way and it lets you finnaly go trough.. a black screen appears needing a forced close app putting yourself back from step 1...

Im not the kind of person to nag about something.. but then again.. this is getting absurd...

I am having problems with all custom cosmetics on my unoffical server. When I drag them to my hotbar, they do not go on there, and when I press "E" to 'equip' them, they get added to "Allowed Items Filtering By: [the cosmetic]". Typically I would get the one you don't want to aggro you, have it chase you on a flier, then get out of its aggro range. Then you should be able to go back for the one you want

update: I think (?) I got it to run! I got the error again but instead of closing geforce i went to the game in my steam library and manually updated it and clicked play and now its running. so I hope that works for you if you might be having the same issue ❤️

But in doing so you neglected your other players on unofficial by locking up the clusters that have it and holding hostage characters that people worked possibly a year on thus treating a whole community of ark gamers like unworthy garbage and throwing them away.
