I've been having crazy screen jittering since the major update on 1/31/25 and I see people in here with the same issue and saying it's a frame gen issue so when I enabled my FPS in game via the console.. I noticed that it shows Nvidia's frame gen is on instead of using the fsr. Maybe that's the issue? How can we turn off Nvidias frame gen in Ark? I don't have it turned on in my Nvidia control panel or anything.

i would say the hidden lake is a good singeplayer/non dedicated place to build, or along any plateaus. some where central or near a lot of resources (hidden lake is next to hella mountains)

the reason is likely because you are hitting limits after a few things loading so everything else looks worse overall instead of it all being equal

Okay so Ark survival Ascended is on sale on Steam and I have a question because I'm torn, and I can't ask my friends because they would think I'm insane.. So, should I get it?

Pros: supporting ark 2's development (maybe)
Gigantoraptor (I like gigantoraptor)
Cosmo (I like cosmo)
It's in an insanely glitchy state and I'm convinced I could find a way to harness these glitches to my advantage

I know theres some issues with the 13th and 14th gen intel processors. If one of those you need to update your BIOS. I was crashing every like 20 mins a week ago, since I've done that I haven't crashed.

probably a completely different error. that is not a specific error at all, and the ones caused by a dying processor are very different as well

the issue is intel shipped highly unsafe firmware that fries the processor slowly. the BIOS update does not really fix it, it just prevents further damage. any processor impacted by it is permanently damaged

Having issues transferring back to the island 5312 from extinction. Everytime I try get to the screen with which bed to choose to download my character on the island to finish the transfer and it freezes causing the game to close then I can't log on in the island, so I try back on extinction and then have to redownload my character from the starting menu meaning having trouble transferring my character with risk of loosing it 😕 yet island is my main base with all my gear and dinos. This was late late night I'm hoping with the new patch it may have fixed the issue

Look in steamapps\common\ARK Survival Ascended\ShooterGame\Content\Paks

You'll see a file called pakchunk0-Windows.ucas which is 192GB on my PC at least. This is why Ark needs so much space to patch because the patch process creates a copy of this file, patches it then copies it back to your game folder.

Screen jitter since 1/31/25 since the major update. It's been 2 weeks and haven't been able to play for what I paid for. This isn't right. Something needs to be done. The issue is likely related to frame gen. They ninja added Nvidia back into the mix without telling us so now there's 2 frame gens. The issue is when your frames dip on lower end cards (think 4060) the game fails to stabilize after that happens and then the wonkyness kicks in and the screen jitters anytime you move or move the camera so the environments keeps having this weird popping effect and it's an instant headache.

IIRC, when this has happened to me, you can't get that character back, but you can admin force claim all the structures and dinos, then give yourself XP to get back to the right level.

It's fairly straightforward, enable the console commands in setting and Google to double check me, but I think it's giveallstructure and givetome will force claim anything in your crosshair.
