And then a separate question, after you leave your world you say it goes back to 1. Just to clarify, you are opening the .ini file in notepad and looking at a line that you have previously edited; On this exact line the value has changed from 5, which you have saved before, to 1?

if your files aren't showing the .ini, you should change your folder options to show all file extensions (or uncheck the box that says "Hide extensions for known file types")

it might not be 100% necessary but personally I prefer to always see a file's extension

So you know the exact file that is being changed against your will, right? I don't know much about single player settings. I have two ideas left.

1. Make sure all notepads/files are saved and closed before starting the game.
2. Instead of just the typical ShooterGame\Saved\Config\WindowsServer\GameUserSettings.ini, you can go up one levels in the folders and find \ShooterGame\Config\DefaultGameUserSettings.ini, and make your changes there instead
   (Sorry if this all sounds annoying 😅 )

I haven't got restarting the game yet and checking how any files work. But I do see that when you click Host/Local it will have a lot of sliders on the left for your settings. The difficulty slider will never go above 1

I don't think there is anything wrong with your settings. For two reasons, the fact you're seeing 140, that's pretty high and if the difficulty wasn't being registered as 5 you would never see this. Second reason, 50, 100 and 140 are all divisible by 5; if the difficult setting was anything other than 5 then you would be seeing weird numbers like 36, 42, 66 etc, stuff that can't be divided by 5

The realest way to tell will be what levels of dinos you are seeing within the game. But it's worth noting that changing the difficulty won't change the levels of dinos that have already spawned on the map, you will need to do a command to wipe all the existing old level dinos to let the new higher difficulty level dinos spawn

The EntryWeight and MaxPercentageOfDesiredNumToAllow might need to be tweaked to better fit your desired spawn rates... They might be overspawning or underspawning. These numbers I used in my server, though I have completely redesigned all spawn entries, these give me about 12~ Rhynions in the swamp. Though, with vanilla rates, I really don't know what's going to happen 😂

I got 525.000 XP from killing a creature with my character.

When riding a dinosaur I got 262.496 XP (50%), my dinosaur received 131.250 (25%).
In total we got 393.746 XP (75%), we lost 131.254 XP (25%).

Where did the other 25% go? I always thought we would get 50-50.

Upon further testing:

When I whistle attack target, my dino still gets 25% and I get the full 100% (125% total) 😮

Theres a couple settings that affect that. I believe your max may actually be around 100 as is unless you add an overridedifficulty line to game.ini.

Reasoning for this is because you can instead change the stats for wild/tame dinos to compensate and get the overall "difficulty" of the game where you want it instead of messing with levels, although most people just prefer higher levels.

The slider will always say 1, no matter what you do. If you've changed OverrideOfficialDifficulty, the game will follow that.

If you're referring to the dinos having lower levels spawning more frequently than higher levels, that is because the level distribution on the first 4 story maps is bugged. In general through you want to get a male and female, with high stats in the desired stat you want, breed them together until you get a matching pair, then breed that paur together until you get 20 or so identical females, then green the one male sith the 20 females until you get a mutation your wanting, as a male, then replace the male and keep going

If you're getting less than 80-90% GPU usage in demanding games, you most likely have a CPU bottleneck. The CPU has to feed data to the GPU. Your GPU has nothing to work on if the CPU can't send enough data. This problem shows up when you pair a powerful graphics card with a low-end CPU

To give you an idea of how broken a shadowmane roar is, there is a mod map with a creature that takes 3 real life days to go from max torp to being able to wake up after being knocked out. After 5 minutes, the shadowmanes remove all of the torp.

I have the following "powerful" tames:

  • 980 stamina

• Yanni
  (level 131 Yutyrannus)
  • 11913 HP
  • 1008 stamina
  • 2075% damage
• Sibyl
  (level 103 Spinosaurus)

Now, I have several questions...
1) Is it possible for me to take on any boss with these blokes?
2) Which of these 3 dinosaurs should I improve first?
3) Which tames are considered "universal"? As in, which can serve well for most, if not all the bosses?
4) Should I come well-equipped too? Because I'm level 103, but I do not yet have firearms, only flak armor and a strong crossbow.

For Steinbjorn I have 6 Gigas with 49K Health and 350% melee(2x rate Imprint) pretty quick kill. For Beyla 3 it´s enough with mate boost and u riding one of the Gigas u kill it pretty fast, but if u like it even faster use 10 against Bjorn and 6 for Beyla. For that two wolfs which i forgot the name coz i stopped playing for some time I have 8 Gigas with the same stats as above, they also go down pretty quick.

Carefull with bjorn that fckr deals quite a good amount of damage, I'd advise u to go with 10 gigas if u can only get them to 250% damage

If u can and the server allows it and if u have cryopods, I would tell u to try and farm more melee by letting them get more XP while staying inside cryopods they gain pretty good amounts of XP by staying in the cryopods.

Step 2) cheat slomo 10
Step 3) Scour the volcano
Step 4) Scour the mountain east of it

Step 6) Scour the mountain on the northeast
Step 7) Scour the blue obelisk mountain and its surroundings
Step 9) Repeat from step 2

This method has yielded nothing so far. Am I doing something wrong? Am I looking in the wrong places?

Should I DestroyWildDinos between mountains? Should I kill all the mountain creatures I find on each mountain?

When you reinstalled the game it defaults to higher graphic setting. Try lowering settings and maybe adjust your field of view. Sometimes the cam view is in a wall or rock or something and causes you to crash on loading.

Try changing the FOV and see if it helps too.

My older computer it would crash sometimes because of my bed location and loading in.

And that would usually fix it.

Also when you load in sometimes the natural plants, trees and rocks pop up for a bit before the building. That can mess up your loading in too.
