Uhh try verifying the integrity of the game files if you haven't already (right click the game, go to properties, hit local files and then verify integrity of game files)

It's the same trick I try with almost any steam game that breaks and it usually works

I tamed things over level 70 before I got a mod to fix levels

now I can comfortably do 108 or higher
