How do you use the tinkering desk to make better blueprints? I tried putting a rock drake saddle bp in with some ascendant blueprints to try to improve it but every time the armour quality just got worse while the material cost got higher

i'll say up front i think the tinker desk is worthless.

basically, you take 3 bp of the same type, add them in, and theres like an 80% chance you'll get the average between them, with a chance to get a boost of 20% on the end result

or you can go the route that gives a higher bonus, with the chance of destroying all 3 bp and being left with nothing

unless you have dozens of bp to throw away and for some reason havent found a max bp yet, maybe its useful then. othereise i think it's not worth the materials to build it

You forgot that the main point of the Tinkering Desk is to upgrade a bp with two bp's of unrelated items. For example, combine 2 max shotty & 1 one long neck, or 2 flak helmets & a saddle. It's a way to boost up a rare bp with some very high level not-as-rare bp's.

There's an overlook in the green zone I particularly like- It's hard to describe it with words, but it's a cliff overlooking the whole area with the initial drop in, it's got a big pillar jutting out at an angle from it. It allows quick access to the blue zone and is near a surface exit, and if you build your base hugging that pillar/outcrop/whatever there's even a nearby respawning metal node

Of course, there's also the big fertile lake is a good spot, which is also near a bunch of important resources, including the smallest surface. (The tunnel into the surface, on that note, is also an incredible spot to gather metal)

I'll go get a screencap of the first area i'm talking about because i am legendarily bad at describing things like this

There's also also a little waterfall hidden in that first big green area. It's not particularly resource dense, although it is adjacent to that good area. More importantly, it is very pretty

You can only pick the creatures on the argy pick list. Some dinos that are low enough weight (under 150) are blacklisted because of PvP.

So, each fur peice gives you X amount of insulation from cold (and makes you Y worse at dealing with heat). For a given biome's temperature you need a certain amount of that insulation to not get the Cold debuff that saps food and hp.

Generally a single piece of fur armor won't do this bellow mastercraft or better quality. But ascendant qualty fur armor peices regularly will.

Rag probs delayed for two things, 1 has no voted creature anymore and probs wildcard wanting to keep close eye on development since centre was horrible. Extinction has the last voted creature and the final bobs expansion. They might do more creature votes for the other maps and a new bob expansion that you buy for next year.

There’s two studios making Asa maps, wildcard isn’t making both story and modded maps. The people behind centre will be doing the modded maps, if they didn’t hire another studio to do the rest after the centre issues but probs not.

Look up roadmap on google and all of them show rag before extinction. Clearly you’re just spreading info you don’t know much about. There was the original roadmap before ASA launched and that was releasing scorch 2023 and that failed and they did a new roadmap with scorch in march, rag September and extinction in October. People are shocked extinction coming out before rag since we haven’t had any info and it was planned beforehand. Yes it’s probably been delayed and they don’t want to announce anything till they’re certain.

@worthy torrent it won't pick you up but will pick up the deinosuchus, even if it does you can still attack it. I took on alpha with a normal tamed bread with 10k health, 30 points in melee and a 77 mastercraft saddle. Did come close to dying so I'd suggest if you're taking on an alpha bring couple more. Also tip avoid being close to terrain when it picks you up since you'll go in the mesh

@chrome crystal these skins I'm 90% sure are for official. Modern furniture skins, toolshed props, arcadian crafting stations covers almost every station I believe. Honestly highly recommand going through all the skins and downloading all the official ones you like that blend in with ark. I disable auto downloads but I download all the normal skin mods

Different game. Instead of a dinosaur army you will be fighting a dancing Spino while wearing a metal spedo. Much less to animate so better performance.

I do still think that a dino with Kingslayer doing a final hit on a boss needs to whip out a buster sword and to a smackdown. But that's the kind of silly thing only madmen add to their games.

Each boss is unique. Shadows were top on ase. Against dragon use theris with at least 10 veggie cakes on each. Against Rockwell rexes aren't allowed but you can do it until beta solo or use shadows. Good luck and have fun

There is definitely a bug like that. We noticed on our cluster that when ppl transfer from server the arkprofile does not always write on the destination server file when you download the survivor. This is why we enforced ppl that move from server often to immediately learn any engram once they downloaded. Seems learning an engram force the player profile save. I read simply holding Q to rearrange the players bar does it to but never tested it. But learning engram is a safe workaround

Hi, since the AMD Adrenaline update (24.9.1), I've noticed that I've lost some FPS (before I was running between 60/70 FPS and now it's more like 40/60 FPS or more depending on where I'm looking).

I know that one of the reasons for the update was to implement AFMF v2, but when I activate it, I don't go beyond 60 FPS. What's more, when it's activated (by Adrenaline), we can't touch the mode we want via the console (0 1 2 3 or 4).

I've already uninstalled and reinstalled the driver myself (AMD Cleanup) but nothing has changed. I tried it with the old version of AMD Adrenaline (24.8.1) and it's the same thing, so it's definitely something in-game that's been changed!

Have people who have done the update noticed the same thing?

And when I look at the number of FPS I have via Adrenaline, it tells me I have over 100, so I don't understand the difference?

@lunar forum If you’re unstable 60-70 fps it’ll be because of that. You notice fps changing and why unstable 60fps is actually much worse than constant steady 30fps since your brain gets use to it. Like I usually play games at 144fps but when games make it drop to 100-120 it’s very sluggish, compared to just playing at 100fps. You might be getting random 50 fps as your lows most don’t notice the drop but you’ll notice it not being smooth.

Just look around and track your fps if you’re getting unsteady 60-70fps then cap it at 60 so you’ll get use to that.

I can get 50-60fps unsteady, plus I watch YouTube on a second monitor so I need to cap it to 40 to let my gpu run both things at the same time without it struggling.

Tho not sure if the capping feature will work because since the ab release the cap setting doesn’t work for me, well does in the main menu but not ingame lol. I ended up just capping nvidia annoying it affects all games but ah well

Building is pretty easy but can be frustrating lol for compatibility just use google, CPU will determine motherboard chipset and socket, motherboard and CPU will determine RAM, check the PSU recommended for your GPU and add a couple hundred to that for good measure, go with gold rated PSU
