you don't need to worry mate, ark is ark, if you get arked that's alright. Sometimes you dont need others opinions on what or what not to do, sometimes you need just go for it buddy. Playing is safe 24/7 is no fun. go for it bestie, if you die and fail there are always more rexes.

You can tame an argi with a nice and easy method, place 2 by 3 stone foundations, a dino gate with a door, I onlu put 2 walls height and then attract the argi inside the pen, you should also leave 3 doors that allow you to shoot the tranq arrows

So I have been playing the new edition of ASA since PC drop (to see what was up before switching to XBOX) and get started on official xbox when it released. I then took a break and came back about 4 days ago roughly (now I get that for some people the changes may in their opinion be GREAT), but for a company that wanted people to use the full map again your changes allowed for a stale meta of hiding in caves and not let any of the new players experience the good old days.
The likes of big wars and lining up dinos, hang sniping and all the joys that accompanied it and then butchered cryo pods with this odd set up with timers and cryo fridge ranges plus recently hit dinos that can't be saved it's ridiculous.

Why are we tailoring this game to be soft rather than adapting evolving and over coming issue's ??? (But yet on the other hand punishing something as simple as cryo'ing a damaged dinosaur).

At least on the PvP side (genuinely all these changes are not making me want to stick around) and certainly not making me want to spend more money on any DLC its wrecking this game and its history imo.

When I arrived there was some construction on one of the sides, so after destroying some reef that gave me small amount of oil and lot's of water I was able to lay foundations. It is at 1 wall height deep

It's a very decent chunk of land

And to me this is the best because no alphas come here, maybe megalodons but creatures from the deep and my most gigas, carchas, alpha rexes won't come here

Depends at what stage your at and what maps you have available. Anky is always good and easy starter, magmasaur is very good but harder to tame and raise and the ultimate is a stryder because you can link it to a dedi box and just keep harvesting and it'll send it all back to your base.

Near the mountains usually, and in the snow biome too. They're pretty slow so you can just shoot it with tranq arrows and keep running away, don't need to trap it. Once its down it'll tame with kibble if you have it or next best is crops or mejoberries.

For taming nearly everything on the island kibble is usually best. For monkeys if you don't have kibble then crops is second and mejoberries close behind that.

Dododex is an excellent resource, it'll tell you how much it needs and whats best. It has all the kibble recipes on it too.

a lot of ASA's bugs seem to be derived from the cranky and slightly broken nature of UE5's netcode

and it just gets more and more complicated as time goes on

DLSS can help you run at higher graphics settings with a more consistent framerate. But the tradeoff is things can appear blurry in some cases, because when framerate starts to drop it lowers resolution and upscales instead of rendering at native.

It is basically the way that dynamic resolution used to work, now there is just some AI baked into it.

You know, I find it wierd we have an NPC Replacement setting but it doesn't do partial replacements or stuff like that. For how much ASA flaunts the mod system (which is very promising overall) it doesn't actually have a good way of enabling mod compatibility. All it would take to make creature rebalance mods play nice with each other is a version of that setting that lets you specify the chance of replacing it. Say we have something like Paleo Ark (which remaps vanilla Rexes to the mod's scientifically accurate version of them, aptly named "Tyrannosaurus") and a rebalance mod like ZCI's "Better x" series, or KBD from ASE. You could set it to replace 50% of the paleo Tyrannosaurus with vanilla rexes which then benefit from your rebalance mod of choice. Would also make premium overhaul/rebalance mods far more valuable because you don't have to pick and choose one every playthrough, which (nudge nudge) actually makes this a fairly economical change to make as well. This method could also be used to reduce the quantity of vanilla creatures as well without totally remapping them, eg. make 50% of Alpha Raptors spawn as normal raptors or replace half of the standard creatures on most maps with aberrant variants when the map comes out.

Edit: Also, this wouldn't be particularly hard or time-consuming to implement either. Random chances in UE5 are handled by attaching two boxes to each other on a visual graph and inputting a number from another box. In this case, that last box would need to reference the part of the config setting that determines the chance. I don't know if images are allowed here but if they are, I'll attach a gif here later that demonstrates how its done.

GEEZ! I need help guys - what is WITH taming the Cerato?? Every time it pushes my dino against the wall, it looses the drunkness - or something. I've tried 4x to tame them, used like 50 hemo potions, and something goes wrong every time. And the potions are SO expensive! Whenever I try, I have to spend two days gathering the mats again to make more. SOOO frustrated right now (and of course, everything jumps in there when you're trying to make it drunk - started taming ONE cerato, and a bunch spawned in and all of a sudden FOUR are getting drunk at the same time - except the one I want!). What makes them lose drunkeness? I assume hitting them does, but what else? (I was using a rex, by the way).

i tamed several on official already. i used a thyla but that doesnt matter.^^ i killed everything around the ceratosaur i wanted to tame and while the cera pushed me against the wall (what i wanted) i used the hemo cocktail.
what makes them lose drunkness? longer pauses without the cocktail effect on your dino.
I also saw that the cera can hit slowly and also pretty fast. try to stay on a wall or better a corner and the moment he hits you several times pretty fast use the cocktail. Worked for me every time.

Why would I need to use the cocktail again if it hasn't run out? (Genuine question). He didn't seem to like pushing me against the wall. I think because my rex raised up and it couldn't hit me any more, but how do I prevent that from happening?

And, I killed everything around it too (except the damn rock golems, those things take like 15 minutes to kill), but they all spawned in again.

i also experienced the lose of drunkness when it attacks slowly. but you can see the moment when he pushes you back and then attack fast. thats the moment (which i experienced) work the best. Also avoiding pauses between the cocktails. the longer the pause the more he lose

Ya, that I got - its tough though, have to open the inventory, pass one over, click, and confirm. I've started opening the inventory like 10 seconds before it runs out, and that helped some.

I had a daeodon, its able to bounce me around which isnt preferable siince that means it cant hit me as much, and was getting 10% per. Getting the daeodon in a corner got it easily 20% per. It sounds lik e you need to lead it into a more safe area (canyons) and get rid of any distractions. GL

Well, I led it into a canyon and dropped some gates, but it pushed rex up the wall, and then I think it couldn't hit it.

I have said this since it was released, yes it is bugged. When you unpod it food drops to zero and if it's not juvenile might die in a few seconds, they won't feed most of the time, as juveline I fill their inventory with meat just in case

I haven't had a problem with the ceratos I cheesed - they seem to be doing well (but I'm on an Unofficial server with somewhat raised rates).

i know that with the cryopod. but guess what... i raised 15 ceratos without any problem... and the 2 males i really wanted (because of the stats) had problems. one died as juvenile while i was offline with full trough and the second one just stopped eating from the trough when it was juvenile (~34% mature). Thats the strange thing...

Server transfers were suppose to happen after 60 days. Today is day 61 and they now tell us...oh I guess we have no clue and can't look at a calendar before we say something. We spent all day cryo everything, turning down our tech powered items and getting everything ready to transfer and now we have to wait a few weeks. If you have this issue put points in stamina, some in fortitude and speed, also lead raptors to traps
