the restart loop is back on my ark nitrado sever. It was fixed for a day then when I stopped my server to try and remove a mod and update to a newer version it started going on a loop again. Anyone found fix on this?

They never should have released the game when they did. It just wasn’t ready. Like other people here I am actually getting headaches from this change, making me unable to play. Sucks having to be testers in this early a development phase of the game. I really, really, hope they revert the changes. If not I guess I will be playing ASE.

There are a lot of graphics changes in the patch notes, granted most are either situational or localized. Hopefully this is an unforeseen side effect of one of them and will be reverted.

well yeah i'm getting 60ish fps on medium with no frame gen (it goes high 90 with frame gen but game crashes eventually) but my laptop's 2k display is not tuned for 60 fps content, it looks very stuttery when i move the camera at 60 fps games without motion blur, like i missed good old monitors where 60 fps felt like real 60 fps. new devices with new displays aren't good anything below 100 fps which is still hard to get on asa

I think for me it’s any modded structures. I had QOL+ structures and kept crashing. When I removed that mod I could get back in. Kind of miserable, my other server has a lot of stuff in those structures

I crash every time i load into the server i play on - everyone says its the mods, so in single player i added every single mod the server has on it, spawned a load of the things in and then left and rejoined.... no issue at all. Still cant get on the unofficial server though. Its not just simply "Mods" clearly.

Anyone else lose Dino’s to the display stands?

Had some fun coloured Santa/Xmas event Dino’s on display, took one of them out. Pod says fully charged, so I take Dino out of display case. As soon as I do, the cryopod breaks and the Dino dies.

Has happened to me two times thus far, and now I don’t dare to touch any of the display stands in case it happens again…

If it didn't crushes instantly, you can try to dismantle your base automated structures - starting with mod ones, ending with crioing oviraptors, and dung beattles. Maybe you can get problematic one out before crush

Ok others try this out. I just did it I think it has to do with our character on the game. All my players can't get on they crash when log then noticed over night 2 new player where able to get o my maps. So I just went and join a random server I seen players on and was able to log into there server

Ok so worked something out - we have the ASR mod Architect structures remastered and it seems there a few items in that that produce the crash (instantly) error when placed. its not all structures but i tested it with Metal foundations and sloped glass walls - both caused instant crash and other things like normal walls didnt.

Can't believe they haven't said anything about the new grain/noise that came up with the major update. Game looks awful right now, especially when moving camera quickly. Just toggle free cam to instantly look behind you, there is blatant a grain that goes thru a denoising process as if something was raytraced.

Been doing some testing around my servers starting up.

I was trying to identify if one of the few mods I have enabled was the issue.

  1. No mods, server gives an error but it will start.
  2. Added a single mod (doesn't matter which mod, I tried several), server won't start
  3. Put Love Ascended in, server won't start
  4. Put Love Ascended in, set it to passive, server starts.

It seems you must have a passive mod for the server to start up

Let's see... Can someone give me some information about this... From a PC I can easily connect to my server (crossplay enabled)... after dealing with the problems after the update, everything seems to be in order... However, Ps5 users in my community tell me that just when they log in, they crash... I tried killing their characters and they reappeared... it doesn't seem to work... one of my players created a secondary account with a new pj and everything seems to be ok... My server is stuck in restart and i've done everything they said do, still a no go. Someone has dropped the ball once again, or did they ever have possession of it. Lol. Having same vibes as ase island problems. Seems it's just the insaluna map at that. But other problems on my island maps, but atleast they are up and playable.

Is there a patch coming for consoles from wildcard? In the write up they done a few hours ago, it seems as though they're expecting modders to fix something that they messed up.
So not sure if we're waiting wildcard to fix their own mistakes or if we're waiting for modders to fix wildcard mistakes.

We clear the magic square after each server restart. We've had so many bats and fish there that it crashed when someone went into render.
It's a funny thing to have but it's annoying at times. When we go a couple days without anything appearing there, we know it's gonna be hectic the next time it appears cos it's usually triple the amount of stuff.

The pixel painting fix is awful. Now there's a bug where painting anywhere near the avatar seams causes the brush to lurch to 3 pixels wide and ruin designs. It was perfect before. They need to put it back the way it was. Now the pixels look blurry no matter what you draw.

There’s an absolute boat load of mods. If they had to test every mod then nothing would ever get released.

What they need to do is have a dev kit ready for each update so mod authors can have fixed mods prepared. That might need the mod authors to sign NDAs but it’s not impossible to achieve.

So, we pulled all the mods of our server, I'm on PC and my buddy is on PS5, and we're able to get in and we rolled back to the 12th. I can get on fine and we're slowly adding mods back...but, he's crashing everytime he gets near his base or tries to fast travel with a bed...is this just a console issue now? I can get near his base just fine. He also plays a female character and the model looks like a N64 character at present.

Mods are created by anyone (you and me) .. Offiicial I agree should have a PTR that is tested by players more regularly.. but the game has so many bug's right now and in 8 years they have never fixed them all.. that being said it's the game I've played the most in the last 8 years and love it.. bug's are forgiven with 2x weekends.. lol

Simple answer is WC and mods are to blame atm. WC changed the base code out of nowhere which has effected mods. They easily could of given modders a heads up but instead just released the updated Dev kit after the update.
As for mods - its certain assets within certain mods. So for example Architect Structure remastered, this was causing the crash on console yesterday with certain building parts the Dev updated and today i can place the specific structures that caused the crash no issue. (all single player)
However i cant get on the Server i play on as there is one of the klinger mods that has assets that cause the crash and that author needs to update that mod.
Not entirely sure what this console patch will do tbh... Currently it seems its the mods that need to be updated by the authors (not their fault)

I do it with a foundation, 3 stone doorways, one set of stone doors and a ramp.
Put down the foundation stone. Make a U shape with the stone doorways and place the doors in one of the sides of the U. Put down the ramp sloping up from the base of the U

Correct. Waiting for male HP mutation and then using that male mutation with the 50 females until you get a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, so on and on. If you get a female you have a choice. Either wait until you get a male and discard it or breed with a no mutation male to switch the gender keeping the mutation. Then continue the process

I just went into my own non dedicated server to play around with the mods I have. Every mod was working and I got in so I went into creative mode and started putting things down. As soon as I put the multiforge down from Klinger additional structures, the game crashed back to the dashboard.

Console patch has been sent to Sony and Microsoft Wed night, they just take longer to approve than Steam updates do. May be tomorrow, may be early next week for console players.

fr, you dont know the half of it. when last update came out it fucked up my servers and i had to wipe to even get it working its honestly amazing how they dont test updates before releasing. they should try it out on official first before unofficial so we dont waste half our server time not being able to host an ark server

I thought they reverted back to an older update with how the recent update broke the game?? Ever since this update doors opening animation is blurry slomo animations, all terrain and clouds has a fuzzy blur mode on even when blur is turned off. My base is covered in fog now never was before the update and it never goes away, turning the volumecloud off doesn’t remove this fog

Can someone please tell me what to do I’m so confused, watched so many videos but still don’t understand breeding. I know the basics but that’s it. So I tamed 2 megatheriums and kept breeding until I got the highest stat of hp and damage, with two tames being level 216. I bred them to get 9 more females with no mutations and now just got a male with hp mutation lvl 218. Now I removed the original male and replace with Hp one and bred with the 116 females again, is this correct?? Because it feels like it would take forever to get another male with the lvl218 and a mutation on top of that when breeding with lvl216 females. On ASA

The game is running again for PC players. These can join, but all console players get a crash when joining. You can only join if I remove all mods that contain structures. But that would mean that 95% of people would be wiped.

Yeah so its the assets with the mods not the actual mod itself - the things you mention from klinger cause the crash not other things like the dedi and the bench.
Arkitect Structure remasters we had and certain things in it caused the crash but only certain things. after the mod updated those things can be placed again..

hmm.. they cant get on now as whatever caused them to crash is in that area i would guess. If obelisks are not built on then it will be something related to the core game and the changes made (something graphically at the obeslisk possibly?). Sadly we are just at the mercy of a WC console patch and then mod updates.

That really surprised me too. I thought it would come, fly to an Obelsiken, a map would work normally.

Who knows, maybe they got too close to a base underneath. All I have is the information that they wanted to go there and shortly before they got to the obelisk they were kicked. Since I have entered all the bases, I know that there is definitely no base there. 🤷‍♀️ They couldn't say exactly how close they were, only that he had to be pretty close.

From everything I have read. Console players that load into an area where mods are present that have on/off switches (lamps and special forges ect) the game will crash. You can have the mods just not be within render range of those structures.
