Are you implying that I haven't played the game? I'm literally playing it right now. I came here to complain because I'm experiencing the exact same bugs that I had issues with in ASE. Dinos falling under map, being unable to harvest corpses sometimes, crashes, low performance, poor optimization. I can give some credit where it's due, regarding graphics and some QoL updates, but that doesn't justify charging for the game again

Risk vs reward. I play the game listed early access and the title Ark knowing at any moment it will be a shit show. Would I like better? Yes. Is there better? No. Adapt and help progress the game and fellow gamers. They've mentioned a record number of patches and even being what it is hit top charts on steam. No worries I'm like 11.5k ase ark official player on all maps and it's a love hate relationship. They are prioritizing problems at the moment with who knows what size team. different numbers for what? and that will run pretty poorly, the GPU is well below minimum. CPU is roughly at/slightly under recommended (it is 6 core 12 thread, speed is about comparable to the recommended R5 3600), depending on how fast your RAM is and your motherboard power limits

I’m inclined to agree. Instead of whining about it, let them know by not spending your money with them if you’re so disgruntled over the release issues. I’m annoyed too, but have you considered the sheer size of the game? Not like it’s Super Mario brothers. Then they’re building a massive update for the game on multiple platforms, all of which use different coding, plus doing it so you can play with your little friends across the world. The only water caves that I know of (I don't hang in the ocean much in Ark.) are the two dungeons. They have some drops in them like most of the relic caves.

I think you can get drops in the smaller caves, but again I don't hang in the ocean.. it terrifies me.

SP has never been Ark's focus or intent. Personally, I play Ark on Unofficial servers - less crowded and spammy than Officials and generally have more solo friendly rates/QoL mods. Biggest downside if being at the server host's mercy if they decide to wipe or shut down.

But for SP alone? I don't think ASA is worth it

Tether distance is something that is only for hosted session and it will be something that always there since everything that happens has to be able to be recognized/rendered by the host.

ASA just released on the 26th where it has code that has been completely re-written for a brand new game engine in UE5 and actually for quite a few people is playing pretty smoothly among unofficial servers and has fantastic QoL improvements that make it feel like a brand new game.

On official or a purely vanilla game, nope.

I don't even think you can learn every single engram on SP tbh, but I'm not sure as I haven't tried.

Because as you level up you don’t get enough engram points, it’s designed for player to be in a tribe, or is playing solo to find blueprints for stuff you don’t want to wast points on

Ya know somethin I think would be neat for ascended? Adding in like, small encampments of NPC characters. They don't necessarily need to interact with ya, but ya could encounter them while exploring the maps. Either fighting dinos that you could join in on, or just guarding their little areas.

I'd quite enjoy it. I'd love to lead an NPC or two down into a cave with me. Maybe our interactions with them could help them and ourselves prosper. Example. They need help getting chitin to make better gear. In return they'll let us borrow one of their hunters for expeditions across the land.

No, no, no, do not take this as it being included in game pass. There is no word on that yet. Game Pass Core is not solely game pass. It is online multiplayer with game pass. It's the online multiplayer of that package that they're referencing as being needed to play the game

However due to the drastic changes in combat and traversal controls/mechanics that could be a disadvantage to play in 1st person like that in Ark 2.

Well you will be unlikely to see a switch version of Ark 2 launch. PS5 is not even going to see Ark 2 for it launch. There is an exclusivity contract that going to put it on Xbox Series X, Windows, and Steam only.

I know zombie modes are an overused mechanic in games, but I'd love to see a Zombie Infection sorta mode in Ark some day. Not in the form of human zombies either. I could imagine the longer you take to get stronger and gather resources, the less likely you'd be in encountering an unscathed Dino. Eventually resulting in even normally passive herbivores and the like hounding you and your tames.

Also if that's the case, that's fine. I guess I'm sticking to ASE.
