I use Pterodactyl as my panel; I host ARK/Minecraft/etc on the dedicated device

Whats odd is; I logged off, and then it just refuses to show me the ARK server for the last three days - my wife's laptop right next to me, works perfectly fine with it.

If it’s from storage (fridge/vault) long enough it won’t. If your typing in a partial name they’ve implemented a filter that is broken af. Example: type “raw” to transfer raw meat. Raw is now a filtered word.

the wild dinos in my single player playtrough are really low level, how do i increase wild dino levels? i currently play on difficulty 6 and checked the max difficulty box in the settings (play on the island currently but also low levels on other maps).

If you can find a ledge to shoot at it from, you could do it with a bow once you unlock tranq arrows. I'd wait until you get a crossbow though. It's dependant on terrain.

the best way to protect your stuff is to make sure wild dinos can't see them. building a wall around your base 4 walls high will prevent most predators from gaining line of sight on anything you leave out

it could even be thatch and things will generally leave it alone. granted if you're building in an area where gigas spawn they can still tear through everything

i usually start with fortifying. find a nice place that's scenic, has easy access to water, and doesn't have an overhang where things can drop straight into your base from

there are parts of every map where nothing dangerous spawns though. which map are you on?

ahh. the beaches are usually kinda safe, but some dangerous stuff can still spawn. if you can make it there, there's an island in the far south east of the map where only herbivores and pteranodons spawn, so it's a very safe place to build so long as you don't piss off the locals

i like parasaurs. they're not too fast so a few levels in speed is good. right click gives you a radar ping that will show you where dangerous critters are nearby

assuming you're on pc

they also have a special honk attack which will cause anything smaller than a carno to run away from it. if you get attacked by raptors it can scare them off and give you time to run away

running a dedicated server means your computer sets up a game, then someone can join. but their character is tethered to yours

guys i just died to lava on fjordur... didn't realise that it made me fall off my snow owl but well, my tribelog didn't say that my owl was dead and after 20 minutes of searching i couldn't find it, my tribelog still didn't say it was dead so i tried going "cheat fly" and "cheat ghost" to see if it was somehow under the map but it wasn't, instead i ended up flying outside the borders by accident and my items were afterwards no where to be found, not recoverable or anything. Is there a way i can get my items back?

The changes they’ve been making to the chat “filter” are honestly some of the dumbest things wildcard has ever done

You can’t even search the word “raw” in your inventory

Some of the equally dumb banned words are “for” “an” “Bob” and multiple other words that are integral to just being able to string together a basic English sentence

For example if I wanted to say in tribe chat “hey I’ve got spare grapples for you” the word FOR would cause it to just not be sent at all

.. you asked how to host one. It's not like it's an instant thing, you have to set it up. Half of it you can skip since it involves clustering.

you can either farm the minibosses, or go through the aberration cave and collect element shards from the rocks

Ark is a long series of gains and losses. i spent days raising up a giga at one point, only to drown it because i popped into the water without checking my stamina

for bm it's easy. hardest part is just preparing for it. the items needed to summon it, the artifacts required. for BM you just need to tame up about 15-20 high level rexes or megatherium because of their bug buff

well for crystal only certain type of nodes that the bronto can farm, not the usual white crystal nodes. it has to be the nodes same as gen 1 type

Technically my computer can run it. There is a different problem I just can't explain. It starts up normal, I get the main menu. But then, everytime I try to start a game, new character or existing game, it loads a bit, then freezes completely. I tried to let it run for hours, sometimes over night while I was sleeping, it didn't work. It still was stuck in the loading screen and recently, it freezes and then I get an error and the game closes itself. Then I have to check the game files again and again, it finds corrupted data and "repairs" it. That takes a lot of time and when you try again, the cycle repeats. I googled the error but results are very thin. I tried every way to fix it that I found, no success. So I deinstalled Ark because I can't play it (I even tried the uninstall and reinstall thing. No success)
