I like to have a storehouse of penguins. They breed quickly and you can kill them with a moschops (make sure you check its radial menu to level up polymer harvesting) when you need polymer.

It appears what happening is the accuracy of the hawk returning next to you is fucked up. So by the time I found my hawk in a random spot in my yard, my bag decayed and all my shit is gone. Well done wild card, well done

For anyone else that's confused by the patch notes on the Fjordurhawk, I figured it out with some testing. You can still fast travel with it, but then you want to not move for that 20 seconds it takes for the hawk to appear. My issue is that I was franticly looking for my hawk and it appears outside my main base and by the time I realize it, my stuff was gone. I'm guessing the actual 1 hr cooldown only applies to a real death, not fast travel

yes, ideally you would want to store it in a fenrir though.
but when its feeding time, you can use a maewing to feed them instead. i normally let mine drop to pretty much 0 food points (there are calculators out there, but after like one or two feedings you should get a pretty good feeling for how fast it drops)
in the beginning (baby stage) it takes like an hour or so for 400 food points to go down for example

but food consumption starts slowing down a lot once they get a little more matured

well yeah but dimorphs have taming effectiveness bonus levels. a perfect tame on most dinos is 224. on a deinon, its 150, so their "desired point into a stat" is far lower

Hm. Can someone explain this to me?

You breed forth a great dino with mostly low stats (ox = 0, weight = 0 etc) and then some really high (melee = 38, health = 36).
This dino will be moderately low levelled (think 80 ish).

So you start gathering mutations, and you get 20+20, so now it's 160 ish. Then you have 88 more levels to go, before this caps out at 248. Is that the highest my dino line can be?

no. you can get however many mutations you want, theres no actual mutation cap. the only cap is the stat cap (no more than 255 in a stat) and the total level cap (450 for most, 500 for some, but only if enabled/on official)

if you breed with a dino that doesnt have the respective cap reached

254/255 points will be the new "cap" but only because of how information is being stored, the game basically doesnt have a cap itself (per stat, mutations are 2 points (or more per though)

some consoles can't run the bigger maps (crystal isles, fjordur, gen2, etc) as dedicateds as they wouldn't be able to handle it.
xbox one X(I believe), next gen, and windows 10 should be able to host all maps.
