They can be pretty scattered around the maps. On the Ark Wiki, you can check spawn points for each map (linked from the main page for each map), though they tend to wander. You can also check around 50, 50 on the map, as they tend to head in that direction when spooked.

WTH. Veggie cakes were bugged and weren't working for a while, so I've been testing them everyday for the last three days and they were finally fixed and were working normally. So I decided to fight the beta dragon with my theris, assuming the cakes were working, but they didn't. They only healed for 500. I lost a few theris.

So, about those new LDL servers. I just loaded up the server, and even the starting message when you load the server, says you can "Download" character. I have not been able to.

I just get stuck on "Downloading transferred character..." for a while. Then the error message "Downloading transferred character Failed. 007 - Failed while downloading transferred character with code: 0 and Msg: RefCode:0-0"

Best thing I can recommend would be to normalize playing with other people by playing with them. I know that sounds oversimplified but that's probably the most straightforward way to get comfortable with potential swqadmates, even if you're changing up who you're playing with from time to time. Get Iron, make a Smithy, craft a crossbow, make narcotics, make narcotic arrows and then just run away from the animal while Shooting the arrows once youve gained enough Distanzen. Trust me do exactly this. Tame fjordhawk. Use desmo to place beds near places you want to farm for metal and such. Enclosed so troodons don't ruin your day. Acquire whip. Tame anky. Get blue pudding. Spawn at metal and whip anky down the mountains harvesting the metal. Cryo anky. Whip all the metal/stone. Kill yourself. Spawn at base with 20k+ metal and such.

we've always used wolves. they seemed to work well and the pack boost was nice. usually our biggest worry was mega rabies and I don't think a saddle helps with that.

Developers are predictable,
Aim for between 15-30 distance every cave and you'll find one (use other caves you've found to triangulate)

Using rough estimates, you get an approximate area ones in, search around for a bit and viola

Do events affect singleplayer?

The major ones do, like Halloween, 4th of July, Christmas, etc. You can manually activate events with the ActiveEvent option in your settings. If the events are not currently active, you will not get items and assets aside from colors unless you add them into drops or have mods that add them.

Your bag will have a timer, I do not remember what the default timer is. If you're in singleplayer and you leave the game, your bag should still be there when you return since it would be paused.

dont know if you know this, but a good trick is having nothing but your tool in question, and filling up all your remaining inventory slots with just mutagel so you can quickly drop all when slotcapped with ambergris
