hourly shop always sells 2 each refresh
you can run curios themselves that have a higher to chance for emprah gifts to be curios. Maxes out at 60% chance. Then run high difficulty some mods to get golds.

Both perks are not optimal, but between the two of them groaner poxwalker is the more useful one since it actually assists you in horde clear which is the main target your psword will touch for 80% of your game, as you are a Veteran and specialists / elites should always be picked off by your ranged weapon and there is no reason for you to get up to them in melee to swing
Like, if you are on Zealot then you have an active way to gapclose vs specialists, but on Vet not only are you a range oriented class, your class ability even highlights and amps up your damage versus these targets using your ranged weapon

10 vs horde and 25 vs flak covers roughly 90% of the enemy types that you will come close enough to hit in most games- hordes and jacket bruisers (flak body), helmet bruisers (flak head), black ragers (flak body), maulers (flak body)

As for crushers and bulwarks, hopefully you are carrying a bolter or a plasma gun so you have strong anti armor
Yea it's good, the main stats that you want on psword are Damage, cleave damage and the rest are not too important since you gonna charge your shit up and swing anyways; supercharge is not the best psword blessing (that would be powercycler 4 + slaughter 4) but since it degrades enemy armor it is not a bad blessing either, and at least you have powercycler 3 which is something
^ supercharge means if you hit a dude wearing flak he will lose 5% armor per stack, at supercharge 4 your energised hits reduce enemy armor by 20%
so it's effectively a 'free' 20% damage boost
1 stack of rending is 5% armor reduction, unfortunately they don't tell you this anywhere in the game without you examining the game code yourself

Because you can only get limited amount of Melk coins, you should save them and only buy items with Tier 4 blessings, or very high (360+) base rating, or both
Just play whatever weapon you have right now, and you can worry about building a good weapon with good blessings later once you are 30 and have all of your feats

Ya Melk items will always be in 1k to 3k range, it doesn't scale with level in terms of pricing
Your 2k will still be valuable as a lvl 30

Funny enough, Brunt's armoury has reduced the amount of RNG in the game.
Before it's introduction you had to rely on the RNG of the trader actually selling a weapon you wanted.

I'm a bit lost on exactly what the weapon modifiers mean. if a gun does 94 damage, but the damage modifier says "58%", does that mean the damage has been raised from some OTHER starting value up TO 94 damage, or does it mean there is an additional 58% damage bonus on top of the 94 damage?
are both ways I'm possibly reading it wrong?
I feel like I've seen the same weapons, with different % modifiers, but the one with a lower % modifier listed, somhow had the higher numerical damage, so I'm lost. lol
in your inventory with a weapon highlighted, you can press V to enter their inspect menu
then, you can hover over a stat to see what they scale
in this particular case, this is the chainsword
71% damage means that you'll get 128.4 base damage on your lights as per this equation,
for the most part, the stat modifies will scale some stat of your weapon in a linear way
these two numbers that you see for your light and heavy attacks is the damage that you deal to the first target hit in your cleave
so the game also factors in the First Target stat modifier on ther weapon for that number
Sometimes the weapon can do an oopsie on those, so I like to check the table
If memory doesn't fail me, one of the weapons I use has the vanguard damage listed on a strike heavy, or it was the opposite
yeah and different attacks potentially having a different damage or distribution, which the game doesn't represent very well at all
e.g., the Deimos will show a large value for its light attack, but it's only the 1st light that has that higher base damage; the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th light has the same damage scaling as the lights of the other force swords

so when folks are saying to find base weapons to upgrade with "good modifiers", they're not really even saying to look at the % modifier, they're talking about going into the inspection to see how the actual math plays out. or is it always as straight forward as "2 of the same gun, the one with a higher % damage mod will do more damage"?
The numbers that show up in item descriptions, or even attack breakdowns, are all sorts of messed up. Best thing to do is to simply take the weapon into the Psykhanium and hit stuff with it. You'll see the actual damage you do.

Oh when comparing two different weapons of the same type you can rely on the modifier %s to accurately reflect the relative differences between the two. But some weapons have multiple stats that affect their actual damage output, like penetration and first target.
The "light attack damage" number on the weapon's card, before you start inspecting actual stats and attack breakdowns, is really just a suggestion. Some kind of calculated average of the weapon's stats that Fatshark (erroneously) believes represents its functioning.

If I get a number on the table that is higher than the damage value listed on my percentage, is it actually the base damage and everything below it is rending, or is it me dealing over 100% damage to that enemy? And how does rending behave in the case of the latter?
it's just you dealing >100% damage to the armour type

yeah, Consecration doesn't change anything existing about your weapon; it simply adds a perk/blessing. So, it is possible to get a bad perk/blessing, and Consecraton has now done nothing to improve your weapon.

I have both push to talk enabled. My mic is also functioning properly when tested in steam settings.
My mic on Darktide didn't work until I changed my system default to my mic
otherwise for some ungodly reason it was defaulting to my ps5 controller

For me there was like, the windows 10 mic settings, then the Actual windows mic settings, like an old style menu where i had to change it for it to work

What does Corruption Resistance do?
Random question for anyone who's used the solo mod, can you make progress towards penances in those games? I've been stuck on 19/20 dodges for that one penance for ages and haven't been able to get it because of people joining and killing stuff.
Reduces corruption from beasts, poxwalkers, daemons and other non-grimoire sources
interestingly enough, it does work on grims, though I've only seen it work on the initial corruption gained; i haven't tested on the corruption-over-time

i guess being extremely paranoid of dogs/mutants + bursters is one way and waiting for the dog first, though I have zero trust in the audio of this game to reliably to do that

My conundrum for this was that if I dodge again for the burster, I'd have been out of melee range to bonk the dog out of the way
and would've been screwed in that way

i guess just pray that the burster comes to you first before the dog needs to be dealt with, or the dog comes to you first before the burster needs to be dealt with
in this situation, maybe you could've waited for the dog, though it's a bit sketchy with your teammates around

i had a hi5shock game where i got cornered by 2 bulwarks, and 6 bursters all individually start approaching me
the first 2 i shoved did not explode
and then doubled up with the next couple and killed me
the game really enjoys letting you deal with enemies as normal for a couple hundred hours
and then when you start doing hi5/hi5s you see all the weird janky shit that happens because the game literally does not have enough spawn points for all the enemies it wants to throw at you
and the second you have any kind of ping spike you're almost guaranteed to be killed

running bolter is fine, since you can round yourself out with your choice of melee

there's also the kantrael shotgun, whose special will shoot out a wave of fire with infinite cleave and a very long range; it won't deal with crushers, but it will deal with bulwarks because it will go through their shields (and everything else under the sun)
it's the big guys that I'm more focused on, if they get taken down quicker, then better I think, I have laser and an auto gun but they are not the best at big guys

What keybinds would y’all recommend for dodge-sliding? My current setup is the same as default except sprint and dodge are bound to the same key (shift), reload is bound to mouse 4 (so I can strafe right while quelling peril), and weapon alt fire is bound to mouse 5 (not sure if that’s default or not). My mouse doesn’t have any special buttons besides mouse 4 and mouse 5
i also have sprint/dodge and shift, though my crouch is on 'C'. I have a mod that lets me bind two keys to an action, so I have reloading/quelling bound to 'V' and mouse5

are some stats more important than others on psyker staffs? Like critical bonus or warp resistance? i'm new to the game and could use some help i don't really know what makes a weapon "good" so i'm not sure what to look out for
if you're not making use of warp flurry, warp res is fine to dump especially when running Quietude.
For Trauma, you can afford to dump Damage since you can reach breakpoints with either warp charges and/or perks. I like quell speed since I don't run warp flurry on trauma, and it means I only need to quell two ticks from 100% to get a full charge off safely.
For Surge, Crit Bonus can be dumped if you don't make use of the LMB since crits only particularly impact the LMB.
And just as reference, at 80% quell speed from 100% peril, you quell 12.31% peril per tick. At 60% quell speed from 100% peril, you quell 9.57% peril. A tick occurs every 250ms.

it affects both toughness and health; if you're an unwavering focus vet, you'll notice that you need less toughness to absorb a sniper shot with sniper res
As an aside, damage resistances stack multiplicatively.
So, if you've got 3x 20% sniper res, you'll take (1 - 0.2)^3 = 51.2% damage instead of the 1 - (0.2 + 0.2 + 0.2) = 40% that you would expect if it had been additive stacking. In other words, you get 48.8% damage res instead of 60%.

it can be both t3 and t4; however, t3 and t4 +stamina currently both give +1

best way to deal with ragers when they are in your face and combo-ing?
I feel like my block gets broken through and I still get hit after back dodging
ragers' 4-hit combos have a dodge catch that's as long as their hitbox, so your dodges will do basically nothing to them
avoiding them in close range, staggering/killing them before they can get a swing off, distancing them properly & dodging them the moment that they start their combo since their movement speed is slow while in their combo, and having enough stamina to block them are pretty much the ways to deal with them
if you don't have stamina and you get caught by them in close range, it can be very rough; and you're basically relying on either the stamina regeneration from taking damage or waiting until the end of their combo to escape from them
they are usually audible enough, so I stop sprinting whenever I hear their grunts and try not to get rekt by a rager hiding in some damned corner
I run a psyker with no stam curios or kinetic deflection, so I can get punished extremely hard if 2+ ragers get close to me without my paying attention
if you don't have stamina, then you should just take the hits; otherwise, blocking will guardbreak you and potentially get you caught by other enemies. Taking damage when below ~50% stamina will regenerate some stamina which you can then follow up with a block and dodge away.

I have had many a undeserved bailouts from this mechanic
900 hours and I didn't know this
I just play slower if my stam is in the 10% range and alternate between dodges and stam as two resources so one can recharge while I avoid hits with the other since I noticed if I ever get guardbroken I will get bodied immediately
20 minutes at 165 toughness max health and in 2 seconds i'm on 20 HP 
what is life if you don't overextend to kill poxwalkers in 10 seconds instead of being more patient and killing them in 11 seconds

when teammates respawn, is the location they reappear decided by the location of their death or where the remaining teammates are positioned?
teammates' positions; so if your team moves past a respawn point, then the dead teammate will respawn at the next forward respawn point. There's no worry about a teammate being permanently unrescuable, though this behavior is buggy on some maps.

After it kills you, will it teleport waaaaay far ahead to one of your teammates or is there a distance cap for teleporting?
i'm pretty sure it has to kill 2 people or 2 people have to die when its aggroed, so it will probably teleport all the way forward. the maps are kind of sections due to the doors / event triggers, so you won't get too far.
Are blessings from surrendered items consumed once they're used on a different weapon?
once earned, blessings can be infinitely used (besides the plasteel/diamantine cost of re-blessing weapons)
the only strict limitation is that a blessing earned from one weapon family can only be used within that same weapon family
e.g., combat axe blessings for combat axes only and not tactical axes, headhunter infantry blessings for headhunters only, trauma staff blessings for trauma staffs only

if you go into the firing range and hit a target they will tell you what kind of armour type it is - unarmoured, flak, carapace, maniac, unyeilding buh I think that's it
these are mutually exclusive, although specialists and elites are different and you can get a bonus to both IE unarmoured and specialist at once

Damnation is the hardest- but also best- way to farm because you can get up to 805 per run, and usually at least 600+ every run even if you aren't checking every nook and cranny
plasteel on damnation is nigh doubled that of heresy
Damnation is also about the same difficulty if you know what you're doing

the ability to bind multiple keys to a single action isn't in the mod menu; it's in the Keybindings menu of the game's native option menu

so I guess the benefit of the grimoire-specific corruption res is just that the bonus is larger (20% at t4 compared to 15% at t4 for the general corruption res)

Can someone please explain to me the conditions? A few hours ago there was the lights out and now, it has disapear? When will it come back? Is it random ?is there a condition rotation ? Or a time table ?
there seems to be a global condition that gets applied periodically, like lights out, hunting grounds, vent purge, shock trooper gauntlets etc... and these can then stack with other additional conditions like intensity levels or each other. I believe there is a kind of daily rotation for the main condition but what maps those conditions are on and which other conditions they are paired with is random.

The sight reduction global conditions appear a bit rarer to give them a bit of an event status, I think. Also they affect gameplay quite a bit.
Dogs, Snipers and so on are more common, but also appear on fewer maps iirc
Rotating maps and conditions has the advantage that you get to play everything at some point, while keeping queue times short

The normal vendor actually isn't bad. A 320 base power weapon with some perk you like will serve you well. Going for unarmored and/or flak extra damage is ok
The normal vendor is also nice to look out for grey and green weapons with good base power. Even 370-380 is possible
And the cheapest way to "grind" for blessings is to get green weapons in the store and update them once at hadrons. That normally gives you a T3 blessing, sometimes even T4

since the other reductive perks like corruption res, block efficiency, and damage resistances stack multiplicatively
Weapons have their own base crit chance that stacks additively with the class your playing.
Everyone has 5% base except vet, who has 10%
Then weapons will have a modifier, i believe laspistol has 15%, while something like autopistol has -2%
Laspistol has a wacky crit modifier
i think combat knife is 20-25% base
so laspistol > bolter?
Well, building for crit only gets you 25% extra damage every time you crit, so it's not really worth building for currently
Getting a 25% boost to damage against something is essentially the same as giving yourself 100% crit chance against it, plus your additional base crit chance still being able to proc
I think bolter is -2% also
Laspistol wouldn't dare beat a bolter, it's just a really good weapon within its own niche

Fast, isn't miserable vs flak, options for ranged vs unyielding with infernus, helped shave ~2 min off my last few runs

It might make sense they don't talk, since they're so close to an important npc. I think your best bet might be to ask catfish or hedge and see if they can scrounge up the name from the fatshark offices

Specialists usually play by their own set of rules different from others, and tend to either incapacitate, or deal heavy damage

Tox Flamers
Poxbursters
Pox Hounds
And Trappers
Then there's boss monsters called Monstrosities, you'll know em when you see em.
Those are:
Daemonhosts
Plague Ogryn
Beasts of Nurgle
Chaos Spawn
and technically Scab Captains count too, even though those are just guys

Basically the normal way is kind of annoying and you have that text file crap and I just don't like it
So what I do instead is use Nexus mods, its Vortex mod manager and this plugin https://github.com/Darktide-Mod-Framework/Darktide-Vortex-Extension
The instructions in the github cover the modding part well
You download the ZIP, go to the extensions, drop it there
on games you find Darktide
in mods you drop the ZIP files you download from Nexus at the bottom
in load order you check the boxes for them and click the "deploy mods" at the left corner of the orange bar on the top
some mods have dependencies, like the first few mods on the list, and also the order in which they're deployed is the order in which they show on the mod menu in-game, so I put the stuff I fiddle with the most on the top, like the reroll for rarity that needs me to change the type of perk I want, or crosshair remap where I try out new crosshairs
the mod dependencies should be fine because when you download a mod that needs one of them on Nexus, the mod page will warn you it also needs X other mods to work

The stats you get it when you buy are the stats it is gonna remain at forever
Base rating does not change
You can only upgrade up to 2 perks, lock 1 and reroll 1
Upgrade up to 2 blessings, lock 1 and reroll 1
The perk you chose to reroll can then be rerolled infinitely, becoming free to reroll after the 19th reroll
The blessing you chose to reroll will still cost plasteel or diamante to rebless regardless of how many times you rebless it

either way, the overall rating of your weapon doesn't matter if the perks and blessings on it are bad

Am I able to try and get the Malleus Monstronum penance in a private game with just myself and a friend? Not tried private games yet, do they give you AI? If they do, does their damage of the monstrosity ruin the ability to get the penance?
private games are still online; just that other players can't matchmake into your game.
yes, their damage will ruin getting the penance. I recommend killing off the bots so that they also do not deal damage to the boss
so as long as you meet the condition to start a private game (being in a strike team with 1 other person), you can start a private game and accomplish malleus monstronum
in fact, malleus can only be gotten in a private game

if you're just farming for t4s and not worrying about getting a weapon with a good base and a t4, then grab good base greys/greens in the main shop + roll them in brunts then upgrade them to blue. You can also take any blues from main shop/purple emprah gifts you get and upgrade those to gold as long as they don't have the blessing you're looking for.
is it possible that some items on the builds found on darktide.gameslantern.com/builds/ are outdated? for instance is possible for curio to give 20% toughness and roll cooldown reduction?
Yeah, some stuff isn't consistently maintained
All curios can roll up to 4% cooldown reduction
I think toughness goes up to 16 or 17
17 for toughness
21 for health
3 for stamina
4 for cooldown on ult
1 for wounds

When it comes to seeking a weapon with the best possible stats, assuming a level 30 character, is the ongoing strategy to buy profane equipment and then upgrade them, or buy pre-upgraded equipement from Brunk/Malek?
Depends on what upgraded equipment you can find
If you see something at the armory that's blue or green with good modifiers, for example, you can buy it to see if you get a good perk or blessing, since they usually have really shit ones by default
Melk occasionally will give you something nice and most of his items are orange, so you'll already have most of the work done for you
So far it feels like most of the pre-upped equipment has only Tier 1/2 perks whereas if I upgrade a green I frequently end up with a Tier 3, which kinda surprised me.
Yeah, that's why I only check those for the modifiers and try my luck at upgrading them
I agree. @molten pawn Check Melk for a good weapon with a perk and blessing you like. You can then craft the other perk and blessing to your wishes
Brunts actually tends to have some nice grey and green weapons as crafting stock sometimes
Personally, I think you best improve weapons iteratively. Just get yourself a workhorse weapon with decent damage and upgrade it with the perk and blessing you like most on it.
And then simply do window shopping now and then to see if something better comes around
Yeah. Fortunately I've fared OK in general and most of the time I give equipment a passing glance. I don't get into the nitty gritty of each damage breakdown aside from checking if the damage numbers are real or fake (aka, something with a huge heavy damage... because the first attack is a Strikedown) I find that most of the time the modifiers are just a few % from each other, which is nice.
In general I'm less attracted to the stats and more to the weapon type itself. On a Psyker I won't really consider anything outside of a Surge Staff, so I'm willing to grab one with bad stats if that means I can Palpatine my enemies.
Right now I'm spending most of my $ collecting and surrendering weapons to build a blessings bank.
Agreed. Sometimes the stats matter quite little. Like 9% difference in damage stat with the auto pistol is like ... 2 damage points.
Personally, I suggest trying out the voidstrike staff. If you charge the bolt, it almost hits like a grenade. Quite nice against everything 🙂
I've tried the other staffs... in truth, I feel that I'm more credit to team with the surge one. Using it, I can basically stunlock anything in front of me, and then my teammates have easy targets that don't fight back. So that makes me interested in good Peril stats so I can spam the zapper for as long as possible.

no. all the stats in this game, like weapon stats, only go up to 80% right now
so toughness would have a max of 20, but you're only getting 80% on a max rolled curio which rounds up to 17%
likewise hp would have a cap of 25, but it's 21 because of the 80 percent rule

it felt like it was moreso just upping the difficulty instead of enemy health
currently we think that it's implemented by increasing whatever difficulty modifier is behind the scenes while reducing / modifying enemy spawns.
this also seems to be reflected in the amount of resources you can find on the map
i also just did an uprising match and only had 2 wounds on a vet, so i assume it jumps up 2 difficulties. Would also make sense since I think we got around 400 plasteel which aligns with heresy numbers

i originally had +carapace +infested but i figured since this axe is more tuned for crowds and has infested locked in it would be ideal to match infested bonus with unarmoured to get 25% bonus to hordes? the pox walker bonus only gives 10% as a tradeoff for taking 1 less perk slot, but i'm fine with 2 slots used to get that sweet extra damage
any input on my thoughts? seemed like a good way to round out this axe but wasn't sure if there were other better synergies

Majority of enemies wear flak, unarmored is pretty much only shooters, it's not a big enough threat to warrant a whole perk
unarmoured was for groaners
since hordes are a mix of poxes + groaners, infested + unarmoured
but yeah they are a low threat priority
though i am on veteran and don't really use the axe to clear anything with long range
i just swap to gun for that
Groaners have 100 health less than poxwalkers
Flak is good because flak enemies have lower health than their unarmored counterparts and some weapons have mildly inconvenient modifiers for flak

As you play more and encounter enemies you'll add them to your Pokedex and they'll show up in Meat Grinder- it's like Practice Tool in League but you gotta meet those enemy champs to register them in your Collection

Elite Resistance is currently bugged so that enemies have Damnation levels of resistance but any difficulty with ER also carries Damnation rewards
Until they hotfix it you can load into a Sedition game, finish it in 10 minutes and getaway with 805 plasteel
Most of your game time will be spent looking for Mats
A fair tradeoff for their stupid high bulletsponge makeover

It use to allow my GeForce Experience optimize settings to go through with no issue. Now it forces any changes it makes to default and I have to manually change them, every time I login.

Feel free to browse the store and upgrade you weapons, even if you will find better ones on your path to level 30.
Buying and upgrading weapons is cheap enough, and malice will later give noticably more loot than the lower difficulties. So there's little reason to starve yourself for a few virtual bucks.
Keep an eye on the damage and ammo stats. A lower power level weapon with more damage might actually be worth it
So I want to make a special/elite/boss slayer is verteran a good way to go? I am currently going with a Helbore Lasgun aproach that seems to be going well but I haven't tested it on high difficulties yet

The bolter is stupid good on veteran and one of its main drawbacks (the annoying swap speed) is nullified by the vet's ult

About the Earn Blessing option: Do you have to surrender the exact same weapon to get the blessing, or does it work with 2 different weapons that have to have access to the same blessing?
in between. blessings are shared among items of the same weapon family, but no farther. so a rashad combat axe could share with an antax combat axe, but can't share with any of the tactical axes nor the chainaxe
basically if the blessing pool (ie, all available blessings for any given item) is different they never share in part because blessings for different weapons can have the same name and different functionality

you always have your own coherency effect, although the effects from feats vary

would not be surprised about feats varying. 4 Psykers with the 15% ability cooldown reduction would reduce all their wraths by 60%.

What is the differentiation between a Specialist vs an Elite. In the context of the modifiers. Elite Resistance vs. Shock Troop Gauntlet(?)
Elite Resistance spawns Elite enemies like shotgunners / gunners / Ogryn Reapers / bosses with greatly increased health and damage and the basic chaff also gets boosted statlines
Shock Troop Gauntlet increases the frequency and volume of specialist enemy spawns such as the mutant, trapper, bomber, flamer and hounds so that you get waves of 7-9 specialists in a row instead of the usual 1 or 2 at a time, however their health and damage stats remains the same
Trapper - Flamer - Mutant X3 - Hound - Flamer - Trapper X2 (9 specialists) in a single wave, for example
Okay. I was curious on which units counted. I had played Elite Resistance before but never Shock Trip Gautlet.
looking for some help since this problem is kind of specific cant really find anything on it. the launcher comes up when i press play on steam but when i go to launch the game from the launcher it does a quick loading bar then nothing happens ive sat for like 30 minutes and steam has the blue stop option still so ive stopped it a few times verified files twice and logged out and logged back in steam. still nothing.
Check if it's running in the background and got stuck there from your task manager

Doesn't hurt to try, some times, rarely, steam games just get stuck in limbo like that for me at least
If you're still having issues, you could use the "Verify integrity of game files" option, in steam. That might fix it, it may take awhile though.

launcher opens but when i press to launch the game from the launcher it does its short darktide loading bar then nothing happens after that all i can do is stop the game from steam and try again
Ok. Another potential fix, in the settings, within the Launcher, you could reset them. Maybe the problems is configuration.

I don't understand a lot of the blessings. Some say they apply "brittleness", what does that do? when it says it will increase my impact, power, or damage, idk what effect these really have. I don't see that information in the game.

the weapon card gives you a general idea of how much damage your weapon does, but to see more info, you can tap [V] to go into their inspect screen where you can then hover over each stat to see what they scale and whatnot
you can also press [Tab] from the inspect screen to see an attack breakdown (how much damage does the 2nd light deal to maniac enemies, etc.)
so power is the good one
damage% is straightforward, impact% improves your ability to knock enemies around (doesn't affect damage), etc.
yeah, and cleave influences how much additional damage you do to more targets
and one point of power is equal to one point of both damage, stagger and cleave
it affects the amount of hitmass you can hit through but cleave% doesn't affect the cleave damage distribution

this is why broadly power is better? like the game will cost one point of power like one point of damage or cleave, when it's strictly superior to both
if you wanna quick optimization guide, figure out what blessings are available (games lantern is good for this) on any given weapon and look for the following: headtaker, decimator, slaughterer, pinning fire, blaze away
all very easy tricks to get + power, they all add nice big chunks in easy and
repeatable fashions

Just shop from Brunts for high base rated flamers, daily shop is not reliable
I do and only get 330base rating
Therefore i have to wait on daily shop

are you level 30 yet
because getting 300-350 base rating is like 80% of the shit you'll roll from brunts even at level 30
If you want to gun for a 370+ base rating weapon it can take 50 to 60 rolls
Unless you get mega lucky, and roll it on the first try which is possible but I've only done once in 900 hours of Darktide

the 'good' thing is that if you play damnation casually, which i'll assume you do, then you earn enough ordos that you can eventually outfit your entire inventory with good weapons that started out as grey brunts and stop even looking at the hourly shop totally

for example if you can beat malice with high intensity / shock troops modifier, then vanilla Heresy with no modifiers will be very manageable because high intensity is like half a difficulty's worth of extra stuff

well broadly the jump from 3-4 is the most severe, but in terms of weapons you want almost everything is viable it's just some stuff will be harder than others
like there's very little correlation between the number and the actual viability since there's so much variation in blessing power level
you can have a totally shit 550 that gets totally trounced by say a 450
I feel like it's hard to not wipe sometimes. As I cannot control my teammates. I had one guy do everything in his power to not get healed. A Veteran, avoiding all ammo drops. I think it's inexperienced players or people playing on Malice for the first time. Had 2 people in the same game think you can just walk past the Demonhost.
And I can still get overwhelmed on the classes I play, Psyker and Ogrym.
I feel like I can play on Heresy. Next time I get on, I'm gonna try it out.
If Heresy feels similarly hard because of your team, just jump into Damnation.

I'll just have to see. I have 300+ hours in Deep Rock Galactic and the equivalent difficulty in that game to Damnation is Hazard 5. Haz5 turned the game from fun to work for me. So even though I could play on Haz5, I'd much rather play on Haz4 cause it was more fun and easier to carry, if I needed to.

When you are concistently are dealing high damage respective to the team and are usally the last one alive.
Its basically means that if everyone was playing to your level that difficulty would be easy.

Had a scanning mission yesterday with 2 bots where my other teammate played like he was in a solo team deathmatch game mode. After the mission started, I never saw him until the end with the big tree-ish looking thing with the eyes on it. I did all the scans and interactables. I will guarantee you his damage was higher than mine, but we were barely on the same team.
Also, if there's a horde, and my flamethrower Psyker is burning them down. If im focusing on the numbers, I'm inclined to get in there too. But if I'm confident my Psyker has that under control, I'd rather watch their flank and make sure they go uninterrupted.

a better indicator that's still numeric-based could be how many specialists/disablers you kill since these enemies are the most disruptive ones and are the main reason for wipes
A trapper with a good net, a mutant displacing a key member, a poxburster throwing multiple people off a ledge, these things cause more wipes than hordes on any difficulty since hordes are really the easiest part of DT
You play Psyker so you have unparalled target access with no range-falloff to pick out these specialists, on any scoreboard if you're #1 for specialists killed you're doing amazing
Its always possible to just ask how far you would go if you had 4 copies of urself.

If the answear is no then you are likely not ready for damnation.
hello ive been having this problem and dont know how to fix it. when i press play on steam to open the launcher the launcher comes up like normal. but when i press play from the launcher the short loading bar that comes up finishes loading then nothing happens usually the screen goes black and then the cinematics and stuff starts but so far none of that happens it just does the loading bar then nothing. ive tried some google stuff but nothing. ive tried the normal stuff like restarting the computer, verifying files, uninstalling, exit and signing out of steam and signing out of my account. and up to now at the time of this message ive been waiting to see if the game will pop up but still nothing all i can do is force stop the game through steam and try again.

before you hit lvl 30 rerolls are a waste of resources
Save it for the grind when you are guaranteed 300 minimum base rating and higher
Because anything you acquire now will get outclassed by free Emps Gifts you get from completing any missions

generally good rule of thumb but some missions you just end up on horde duty because you have teammates that are sniping specialists as soon as they appear and you just have to roll up your sleeves and clear out the trash

What is the ideal way to fight a Chaos Spawn? The other monstrosities don't bother me, it's just this one. Alone it's not too much of a problem, but the second there is anything else it immediately becomes a potential wipe scenario.
well he has a few attacks but generally the strat is dogde left on his overheads, block his low swipes or dodge back
if he picks someone up to eat them you need something to stun him like a frag or ogryn charge to make him drop them
you want to be really close to him when attacking, contrary to how you may handle a BoN at range with ease

and get as close to Spawn as possible to induce the same pattern.

i found you can kite the CS around very easily. if someone gets dropped you can lead it in a circle while your teammates get them up
I'm getting a constant backend error message, I updated my drivers, clean install on the game, checked my network and all seems fine with other games. I have a decent rig and can run the game on highest settings. Now if I can get passed the backend error I can't even run it on its lowest settings. Am I just dumb or did something break in this new patch.

But i got a pro tip for you, for free, i figured out why the performance in Darktide is so poor and why i get stuck on 60 +/-FPS on a high end PC, its the Core Isolation in windows aka VBS, which drains performance, turn it off and the game gets unbelivable smooth, butter smooth, had an FPS increase of 60+

This wasn't incredibly helpful, cause this guy just 1v1's it casually. I couldn't replicate that if I tried. But honestly, that's irrelevant. In the video the Chaos Spawn never uses it's grab move. Why is that? RNG? Is it cause he was alone? idk. He also, has no other threats to deal with. I swear the Chaos Spawn switches aggro randomly as well. Can you control it's aggro? Also, there is no terrain or ledges in that video.
Should you really fight it close? I've seen it pick up one player and knock another player off the map with that first guy, absolute tragedy. Now that I think about it, it feels like it picking someone up is best possible case scenario, if you have other issues. While it's eating(?) the guy, kill the other threats, get your other teammates back up, and try to stabilize the scenario. Worse comes to worst, that one guy has multiple bars of corruption, but HEY, the runs still alive.

The chaos spawn also has some funky nuances, like its grab
Idk what the grab looks like. You can avoid it? All the attacks look the same, except for the jump.
It'll grab a player and cause corruption on them while healing itself
You can stop that not only through a strong stagger, but also by baiting the spawn into using that player to attack you, which does nothing if you just dodge back
He is relentless and I really dislike the erratic movement compared to the more defined pacing of the plague ogryn and spatial awareness of the beast, but he's still a very doable boss
The simplest solution to not getting knocked off ledges really is to just avoid the attack
I like having some block efficiency and stamina regen for cases like these
If they kept the Vermintide quirks, the grab can be avoided by dodging to the opposite side of the grab or backwards
it rears back on its hind legs and then lunges forward with its biggest arm in a big sweep around itself. if that connects with anyone, it grabs them.
