Thank you
otherwise it's correct, there's like only two weapons that don't want a 80/60 spread
how do u guys deal with wolf packs and trappers, so many mobs that just down you for no reasson
im having a difficult time trying to play against those instant down mobs
crushers are aite they telegraph their attacks
dumb question but do you play with audio?
and on what device?
pc or console
There are 2 big things I can say.
1: is to learn the important audio queues (ex. trappers will laugh when they spawn, and have an electric charge sounds when shooting their net).
2: Learning the proper ways to utilize the defensive moves, dodging, blocking, stagger, sliding.
Settings dynamic range to low can help with identifying special warning signs. Packs of hounds are best fought in corners to limit their access to you, preferably with the group so someone can save a teammate who gets downed. Trappers are able to be dodged as the net sound is winding up but that can be impaired by terrain or hordes getting in your way. It helps to have a way to stun them. Even a push will stop a trapper mid-action. From farther away it helps to have ranged damage that can cleave like a plasma gun or flamer. You can also bait specials around corners or doorways to start swinging as they approach, especially if you have them pinged.
thanks for the advice guys
seems like i might have some issues with positioning then
but its just when 7 wolves spawn together and pounce at me with different timings and 2 trappers start yapping from 5 meters away while im fighting off a horde of heretics it feels impossible
alot of these skills comes from playing and learning. play slow and pay attention. every situation is possible to win
Always a hurdle in Darktide. You can push hounds as well even in mid-air unless they have the nurgle's blessing buff. From there it is a simple matter of punishing them before they can recover.
i feel like wolves are so hard to dodge, might be a network issue but their pounce movement is so clunky and "teleporty"
You have 3 other teammates who can help ease challenges like this. Playing with randoms that can sometimes be an issue however. You may benefit from a stealth ult to use as a get out of jail free card while learning. Just be careful about feeding aggro to the rest of the team.
Pushing them is better than dodging as it will stagger them so you can counterattack. May still require timing from mid-pounce though. Ducking while you dodge can also be helpful depending on their pounce height/angle. Weapons with slower push will struggle to keep hordes of hounds at bay though.
At higher ping, you need to pre-dodge if you want to try to dodge. Better to push.
but wouldnt pushing be harder to time than a dodge?
ive been able to dodge them ebfore but never tried pushing the wolves before
The window for pushing hounds is fairly generous
You don't even have to wait for them to pounce if you're close enough
ooh
my main issue is having these insta down mobs when im dealing with a horde
sometimes the trappers hide behind larger hitbox mobs and i just cant see them
how would u manage that?
dodge AND push is the way
the push is unreliable as well because the dogs seem to have a hyper armour some times during the pounce so you can't stagger them out of it
Pushing is more generous tbh, not counting Fatshark bugs.
Keep space to dodge the net when you hear it fire
Or just hit them with literally anything to stagger them
aites, thanks for all the advice
If you really want https://www.nexusmods.com/warhammer40kdarktide/mods/25
Just go practice 1v1ing them till you're comfortable enough to learn dealing with them in hordes
0 ping is pointless vs 300 ping. Guy mentioned teleporty dogs so I would assume high ping/high packet loss.
More the latter tbh.
GL at high ping. Shit files through walls.
DW I know
We love 250 ping gaming
Can't even melee properly half the time
That's playing real time D&D.
Roll to hit every single attack.
i just finished the last campaign mission, and had the cutscene with rannik where i got the option to redo the whole campaign, is there any point or?
You do not need to no
Theres penances for doing them at certain difficulties i think. But i cant 100% remember
Best way to farm diamantine?
Havoc
Better do it soon , you get the reward on monday
reach max lvl, talk to dukane , play maelstorm
in that order
Make sure you have no filters on too
Stability
Mobility also affects accuracy while moving
guys is auric storm survivor title (5 wins without deaths in maelstorm) is supposed to be achieved via playing with friends in voice chat? because with randoms even wining 1 time with deaths is barely possible
and how many attempts did it take?
if your friends are competent players, sure
I don't remember, I think I only lost a 4/5 once or so?
but it's a penance that isn't worth the headache, maelstrom is much more fun when you don't have arbitrary things to worry about
i myself dont remember really trying 🫃
i want to win at least once
and it seems like until i get insanely good it wont happen
oh you're more so saying it's on you and not your teammates?
game's hard, dont push yourself, choose deficutly you're comfy with
its equal
ive seen like 100 varities of deaths
like every 3rd player with orange title and you get to think are they literal gods
if only you knew
You will want to wait for Auric Maelstrom missions with fewer fail states (avoid more barrels, poxburster hordes, scab/melee only) in order to improve your odds of keeping a streak going. With randoms you can get stuck with uncooperative teammates more often than not as well. If things are not looking promising feel free to Alt+F4 early to preserve your streak before getting downed. It used to be that this worked so long as you left before the downed/dead sound cue played but this may have been altered somewhat over time.

can someone help me understand this part of expeditions. say you're on the last zone, can you call in the valk another time if you miss first one someone called in by mistake?
Haven't seen a valkyrie time out so long as you don't fill the meter. Once the meter is filled and the ship lands you need to get onboard. If someone decides to open a door and/or call in the valk it locks out the other choice but I don't think after choosing one will make it unavailable until the meter is filled which requires half the team to progress.
What's inferno staff dump stat?
warp res
Ty
Anyone have any Veteran Infantry Lasgun Mk IIb builds they feel very good about for Havoc?
The IIb fires fast enough in semi-auto that you may consider swapping out for a recon lasgun or transitioning to the Mk VII for higher damage while maintaining enough fire-rate to support rapid sniping without the recoil of the Mk IX. The build is somewhat hybridized from a Havoc support build and could look different if you plan to run Executioner's but will give you solid ranged and melee capability for higher Havocs. Changing the ult would also alter the priority of the curio selections a bit as well. Left melee weapon open to slot what you want. Build will expire in 30 days. https://darktide.gameslantern.com/builds/a1e842b1-bd24-47ad-a858-74f917e9a9e5/havoc-iib-inf-lasgun
You could also dump Stability over mobility on a IIb Inf Lasgun depending on your melee choice.
Deadshot is optional if you find yourself ADS too often but will support Infernus blessing.
Their pickups count to your pool, but you need to spend it yourself in the shop.
omg this is by far the worst penance in the game
It's a minimum of 330 runs for it. Assuming getting around 300~ salvage per run.
You need to cheat with certain mods to speed it up.
Whoever did the number for it really needs to be fired.
What mods? I already use the one that makes salvage and tech glow
markers AIO to see them through walls, and I believe there's one mod that gives you a full minimap on your auspex showing precise locations of pickups, too
depending on how much you're willing to cheat
On the Expeditions mission terminal -- is there a new map image every week?
for a lvl 30 what lvl should be my curios 400+?
power level doesnt matter for curios, just seek for max main stats - 17% toughness 21% health and 3 stamina
oh the meta changed? my build on game latern says 2 17% toughness and 1 heath one
i didnt say "take these curios", i answered your question about power level
oh sorry
What curios to use depends on class and weapons those are just the 3 stat caps
curio can be less than max power level but have 17% toughness for example
Did they fix the 3 stam bug
I believe so, but not sure in what way they fixed it
As long as it doesn't lie anymore a new player doesn't have to worry about it anyway
ye
so darktides being a little funny
the launcher loades up fine
no problem with building shader cache
but when the game loads up, it comes out like tis
just realized i cant use images here
but it wont let me access it
when I right click and select darktide, it opens a new window that appears to urn fine but gives me Backend error/error logging in
Appreciate the reply. Since this gun has such a drop-off on Flak, wouldn't rending nodes be very valuable? And if you wanted to shoot into Crushers or Dreg Ragers doubling up on on one of the Vet's three rending nodes might make this effective? Perhaps it isn't good for marksman keystone because of the high fire rate and recoil.
No. But the salvage they collect ends up in your hands to spend each round. There is 400 salvage per zone in total. Each person runs around trying to collect as much as they can and then you can each spend your share in the safe zone. You often will leave some salvage on the board without mods to find it for you since some can be locked behind sites of interest and you will avoid waiting around to clear a site of interest if a mod isn't telling you there is salvage in the reward closet. So you can technically get 1600 salvage across 4 zones if you find every single piece each time. You can leave after selling before zone 5 since there is no salvage in the last zone and your salvage selling tracker updates as soon as you buy stuff. 100 runs through 4 zones netting at least 1000 salvage = 100,000.
If you plan to shoot a Crusher in high Havoc you will find the rending only assists the damage of the shot itself. A more efficacious talent node to get is Onslaught because the brittleness will improve your fire DoT as well as the damage the entire team can do to the crusher which is often a shared target in H30+ anyways. This may prove somewhat ammo prohibitive even with the near endless ammo pool this build offers due to how many more shots it takes to kill Carapace targets in H40. They are fewer in number now after the patch though. I usually end up facing them in melee especially if the team can't CC all of them which often is the case. In the event you want points for Onslaught you can consider removing Focus Target and Leave No One Behind but those provide quite a bit of utility in a Havoc environment. The revive speed on that build will often let you get a rez after a shout provided you aren't out in the open being shot to death. Focus Target is kind of the poor man's Brittleness.
Stacking rending is best used for slow, big damage you deal since it only affects the damage of your primary attack. Brittleness works better with rapid fire to reach max stacks quickly and because it affects the damage the entire team can deal you can get significant DPS from multiple sources more effectively. I use rending on the Helbore Lasgun and brittleness on the Recon Lasgun XII.
I'm actually very happy you explained that cause I never quite understood what rending did
the team benefit aspect is blown out of proportion: it heavily depends on your team's attacks' ADM values (if they have high ADM then brittleness has very minor effects)
rending is generally better if your goal is to kill with fewer hits (which usually is the case)
what if i want to kill them in more hits
You can't stack everything in a build but you can surely stack nothing to reach wet noodle power no problem.
the last two modifiers i need for penances are Pox gas and ventilation purge
I swear they're the least common modifiers
They have become a lot less common since they were first introduced perhaps in part to not being fan favorites. You can also scan Party Finder for Havoc missions with those modifiers but they probably won't be too common there either. Anything up to 25 should be doable but 4th modifiers are more common every 5th Havoc level (15, 20, 25, etc).
Its hard for me to find and play Havocs considering my location and player count
I never see Havoc parties in my region for a start
I have to finish somewhere around 40 missions between the two modifiers to finish the penances
You can swap server region at the mission terminal (press E or the console equivalent listed at the bottom of the menu). NA East and EU are the most populated. Will depend on if you have functional ping from your location however.
It depends on how kind the warp is feeling for an NA connection
Riposte doesn't benefit Range attacks?
