The fact that the devs are surprised by how many people hit the threshold actually proves something went wrong. This was a massive ban wave affecting players who have not done anything , and their surprise shows the system didn’t go according to plan or something similar and ista flagging people it shouldn’t.

these bans are mostly not legit. GGWP is an AI that still barely understands context, tone, or slang, and it’s handing out voice warnings to people who weren’t even talking. players who’ve been offline for months are getting hit too, so it’s clearly pulling from old or broken logs.

and it’s not the first time a system messed up this bad either. remember when overwatch’s automated report system suspended thousands of legit players in 2017 just because the sensitivity was too high? normal chat got flagged as toxic. so yeah, it’s 100% possible GGWP is doing the same thing here. no moderation system is perfect, especially at launch
