ever since the k-id system has been added to the game the player count dropped A LOT, it went from 20k/30k to barely 10k. I also heard most people accidentally put their age under 13 and getting themselves muted and also lead to a quit, in my opinion i think gorilla tag next update should give a second chance to the people that put under 13 years old just in case they didn't accidentally messed up and put the wrong age by accident.

But the thing is when I record with the built in camera mod it sounds good

ahh i see, the LIV camera probably records your mic directly from the system, so it gets the clean virtual desktop input. but when you're recording normally on the Quest, it routes your voice through the in-game mic system which compresses it and makes it sound fuzzy. That's why the LIV camera sounds better, because it bypasses that low quality processing
