It's up to the interventions team, they decide how long your ban is. No one truly knows how lengths are given out. They are taking a serious step up with moderation now so that may be why you have an 8 week on your first offence.

It will kill the game entirely and I know you’re not likely to listen to your community and always have a response for everything, but please just watch the videos about it. Gorilla tag has already been dying, and this might end up killing the game off. I don’t like to live with the fact that the game is nearly dead. We, the community, and trying to keep it alive, but you guys, the actual developers of the game, are killing it off and not listening to the community. Just please.
