• A streamable Steam key, titled Coral Island Steam Early Bird Streaming;

Each comes with an instruction on how to activate.

Just like the Alpha keys distributions, Backerkit sends the codes periodically, so it may not arrive in your inbox right away.

We recently discovered that our last patch of the Xbox PC version of the game created a compatibility issue with the save games created on the previous version of the game. We are working on a solution, however, unfortunately have not found a way to make compatibility work between the two versions and anticipate some players will not be able to access their saved game data. Our plan was to offer advance warning if any game updates would require saves to be wiped, but this one caught us off guard.

We're sorry to any of the players who experience a loss of save data.

We have a few announcements to make today.

1. Coral Island Alpha is currently being disabled. The process takes time. Please don't play the Alpha build anymore, as the Early Access is already out. The newest patch is Early Access v0. 149002.
   Please update the newest patch if you're not on the correct version.
   You can check your code in your Backerkit account if you're a Steam backer.

   We have already distributed the codes, which should be on your digital rewards tab.

2. If you're playing Coral Island and it freeze or crash when you open the game, please check your PC and graphic card spec details.
   Coral Island doesn't support Integrated Graphic cards and needs Dedicated Graphic cards to play.
   You can check the minimum requirement here https://www.stairwaygames.com/post/early-access-faq-roadmap.
   If you're still above the requirement, please check if you're using Razor Cortex, as Coral Island is clashing with it. Please turn it off before playing Coral Island.
   And if you're using AMD, AMD Adrenaline launches SteamVR every time Coral Island plays, which causes memory spikes and crashes.
   We are still trying to fix this. Stay tuned!

Steam Cloud Saves now enabled.
All your save files will now sync to another device if you're using the same steam account.

What do I have to do to enable it?
Nothing, Steam Cloud should be turned on by default on all Steam clients.

How do I know if it's already working?
Look for Cloud Status "Up to Date" Icon next to the Big Green Play button. If it's "Up to Date," you're good to go. If it still doesn't show the Cloud Status icon, please check the following:

1. From the top menu of the Steam client, select Steam > Settings
2. From the left-hand menu, select Cloud.
3. Make sure Enable Steam Cloud synchronization for applications that support is turned on.

Any potential problems?
If you've played Coral Island on two devices using the same Steam account, there is a possibility of a one-time Save file conflict; please pay attention to keep the one you want.

Hi @everyone , last night an in development build was accidentally made public. This caused saves for several users to be inaccessible. We've since rolled back the accidental update. If you were an impacted user, your save before last night’s update should be recovered and accessible.

If you made a new save after last night’s update, unfortunately that save will not be recoverable.

We've also figured out how the accidental update got released. It won't happen again. We truly apologize for this.

If you’re interested in helping us test, you can access the branch by following the steps below:

1. Find “Coral Island” in your Steam Library,
2. Right click on the game title and select Properties
3. Select the Betas tab and enter the access code BetaTestingPublicBranch
4. Select the Beta Branch under the dropdown menu at the top of the Betas screen
5. You’re ready to go! Steam will download the Beta, and you can launch the game and start a new save file.

Note that if you use Beta Vending Machine, you will trigger some Steam Achievements. If you want to get the achievement through normal gameplay, please do not use the vending machine.

During this period, you can test our latest updates and bug fixes as we prepare them for the official release.
This Beta branch will be available until the 1.1 Update launch.
Note that the Beta branch is only available on Steam both through PC and Steam Deck and everyone who has the game on Steam is welcome to participate.

Here are the steps to do if you’re interested in helping us test the Beta :

1. Find “Coral Island” in your Steam Library.
2. Right-click on the game title and select Properties.
3. Select the Betas tab and enter the access code pl34ased0ntstr3am
4. Select the beta-1.1 Branch under the Beta Participation dropdown menu at the top of the Betas screen
5. You’re ready to go! Steam will download the Beta, and you can launch the game and start a new save file.
6. To report bugs from the Beta Branch, drop in #1240103714652422204 ⁠ or #1242069719658270771 and for crashes, please put it in ⁠ https://discord.com/channels/623097219628662784/1239940305168502814 channel. Please kindly read the guidelines on how to report bugs and crashes in the respective channel.

Q: Can I stream this 1.1 Beta?
A: We'd appreciate it if you could hold off on streaming the beta for now. Since some features are still being adjusted and we want to avoid any spoilers, it’s best to wait until everything is finalized. And lets face it, the beta might still have some bugs, which is why we're conducting this testing phase. We don’t want the general audience to mistakenly think that the beta is the final version of 1.1. Thanks for understanding and helping us keep the surprises intact!

Q: Will this overwrite my main save file?
A: No! This will not tamper with any of your existing save files. The Beta branch will use a completely separate save location. So, when you move back to the main branch, your existing save will still be there.

Q: I see that I already have a save file on the Beta Branch. Is that my main save file?
A: Nope! That's your old Beta save file if you participated in the previous Beta test!

Q: I don't want to start from the beginning again to test all the new features.
A: No worries! We provide 2 ways to help you with this.

1. You can use the Create Test Save button to make a save file with a premade character, farm, and Town Rank A! This our recommended method of beta testing this update as it's more stable.
2. If you want to use your own Beta save file, we will provide you with a Vending Machine that'll help you to get Rank A super quick!

Q: How is the Beta different from the main game?
A: The Beta is where we will test new updates, including features, bug fixes, balance, etc. We will push updates to the main game after they have been tested in the Beta. Be aware that this may mean the Beta contains bugs or other issues.

Q: I see 2 channels for reporting bugs, what's the difference?
A: #1240103714652422204⁠ is a channel to report bugs in Beta related to old features. For example, remember Fish bait used to catch trash; we fixed that! If you still catch trash with Fish bait report it on beta-1-0-bugs.
#1242069719658270771 is a channel to report bugs in Beta related to all the new features! Town Rank A above features, for example, are new features, and if you encounter a bug related to that, you can report it in beta-1-1 bugs.

Q: What if I want to play the main game after I download the Beta?
A: You can switch back to the main game in the Betas tab by selecting “None” from the Beta Participation dropdown menu.

Q: Can I play the Beta on PlayStation 5, Xbox, or PC via Xbox?

New Beta is available! We're testing post 1.1 hotfix features and quality of life updates. The Beta is open on Steam for both PC and Steam Deck.
We encourage you to use your existing save—it will copy automatically when you launch the Beta. No need to worry; the Beta is separate from the main build and won’t affect your original save.

Here are the steps to do if you’re interested in helping us test the Beta :

1. Find “Coral Island” in your Steam Library.
2. Right-click and select Properties.
3. Select the Betas tab and enter the access code d0ntstr3ampl34ase
4. Select the Beta-post-1.1 under the Beta Participation dropdown menu at the top of the Betas screen
5. You’re ready to go! Steam will download the Beta, and you can launch the game

Eligibility

• You own Coral Island on Steam
• You can play Coral island on a PC/laptop OR a Steamdeck/handheld PC equivalent
• Submit a form between now and November 26 2024

Why no stream or content creation? Right now all content is subject to change and, as with all of our beta tests, it’s buggy and crash-prone (which is why we need your help!)🙌

It’s a heavy and gloomy day at Stairway Games. Earlier today, we received heartbreaking news, our dear teammate Thomas has passed away. He had been quietly battling illness, and now it’s time for him to rest.

Thomas worked closely with our project managers and directors, assisting with a wide range of tasks, from researching, implementing some stuff in Unreal, Jira tasks, etc. His contributions were deeply valued, and his presence brought warmth and energy to the studio.

We will hold close the memories we shared with him: late night dinners, studio hang outs, monday meetings, end of week games, and all the moments in between. He had many friends here, myself included and his absence will be felt deeply.

We love you, Thomas. Rest in peace, pookie.

Coral Island Farmers, two things: a thank you and an apology.

Thank you, Farmers!
This release has made Coral Island the most stable it’s ever been, and we couldn’t have done it without your feedback. At the same time, we hear you loud and clear, some old bugs have resurfaced with the transition to multiplayer, and we’re working hard to smooth them out.

Because of that, we want to sincerely apologize for the issues you’ve experienced, especially the single-player problems. We understand how frustrating it is to update the game and see some old bugs resurface.

Here’s what we’re focusing on right now:

• Fixing single-player bugs caused by the transition to multiplayer.

• Addressing the remaining connection issues so multiplayer feels smooth and stable.

We’re also bringing back the beta channels so we can roll out fixes more efficiently. You can see more details, along with the list of what we’re currently working on below.

On top of this, we’ve scheduled paid overtime this week and next in an effort to resolve these issues as quickly as possible.

• Auto-sort toggle no longer available for chests.
• Price details not showing up after selling an item.
• Auto SFH unable to harvest all crops.
• Magnet range for floaties needs to be widened.
• Players requesting an option to toggle the “wrong tool” SFX in settings.
• No fire on bonfire at the beach during night.
• Lamp near beach appears off but still casts shadows.

Known Issues in 1.2

• Museum opening cutscene: all NPCs should wear their current seasonal outfits.
• Baby names reset to default.
• Arcade Center reverts to construction state despite being completed in a previous version.
• Merfolk form on land bug (player can use merfolk form outside intended areas).
• Some monsters can still damage the player after death (needs verification if it’s specific types or all).

• Indoor furniture appears on the farm after using “Undo Move” in Decor Mode.
• Inventory full message appears even when empty slots remain.
• Player unable to complete Neighbor’s Help Quest from Paul.
• Lost all 15 hearts with spouse after gifting items to other townies.
• Camera shake appears on host when guest attacks mobs in the Cave of Memories.
• Stamina doesn’t recover in hot spring when host is in the ocean/underwater.
• Steam Deck: unable to scroll down character list in Relationship tab fully.
• Greenhouse trees lose leaves after harvesting.
• Fishing animation bugs after going underwater.
• Certain hairstyle materials don’t match hair color.
• Scalp color not matching hair strands color.

Thank you for all the excitement! The Coral Island Public Beta 1.3 is now live ✨
The Public Beta will run from** May 4 - 15, 2026** and available to all Steam players!

Here are the steps to join the public beta:

• Find "Coral Island" in your Steam Library.
• Right-click on the game title and select Properties.
• Go to Game Versions & Betas.
• Select the publicbeta13 branch from the Game Version list to access the 1.3 update. If you don't see the branch you might need to restart your Steam.
• You're ready to go! Steam will download the beta, and you can launch the game and start testing.
• To report bugs from the Beta Branch, drop in https://discord.com/channels/623097219628662784/1406813775322943489, and for crashes, please put it in https://discord.com/channels/623097219628662784/1406814042336792709. Q: Can I stream the 1.3 Beta?
A: We'd appreciate it if you could hold off on streaming the beta for now. Since some features are still being adjusted and we want to avoid any spoilers, it's best to wait until everything is finalized. And let's face it, the beta might still have some bugs, which is why we're running this testing phase. We don't want the general audience to mistakenly think the beta is the final version of 1.3. Thanks for understanding and helping us keep the surprises intact!

Q: Will this overwrite my main save file?
A: No! Your main save file is safe. When you join the Beta, we copy your save from the main branch to the Beta branch so you can test using your own progress — but the Beta uses a completely separate save location. Anything you do in the Beta will NOT be transferred back to your main save, so play freely without worrying about your main game!

Q: I see that I already have a save file on the Beta Branch. Is that my main save file?
A: It's a copy of your main save! We duplicate it over to the Beta branch so you can test the update with your own progress. Just remember — any progress you make in the Beta stays in the Beta and won't carry over to your main save when you switch back.

Q: I don't want to start from the beginning again to test all the new features.
A: You don't have to! We provide 2 ways to help you test the update:

1. You can use the Create Test Save button to make a save file with a premade character, farm, and Town Rank B! Use this if your own save file progress is still below Town Rank B.
2. We also provide a Beta Vending Machine — if you want to test using your own save file, it'll help you progress Town Rank easily.

Q: How is the Beta different from the main game?
A: The Beta is where we test new updates, including features, bug fixes, balance changes, etc. We push updates to the main game after they've been tested in the Beta. Be aware that this may mean the Beta contains bugs or other issues.

Q: What if I want to play the main game after I download the Beta?
A: You can switch back to the main game in the Game Versions & Betas tab by selecting "Default Public Version" from the Game Version list. Your main save will be exactly as you left it!

Q: After the beta is closed, can I continue playing my beta save file on the main branch?
A: We don't recommend moving your Beta save file over to the main branch. Since the Beta save is separate from your main save, transferring it could corrupt the file. Your main save will still be waiting for you on the main branch, exactly as you left it before joining the Beta!

Q: Can I play the Beta on PlayStation 5, Xbox, or PC via Xbox?
A: Unfortunately no — the Beta is available only on Steam.

Q: How long will the Beta be available?
A: The beta runs from May 04, 2026 to May 15, 2026. We'll announce when the official 1.3 update launches!

• To claim your Discord roles, please do the steps as follow.

1. Go to 👋server category -> #call-kible-bot
2. Write the following command: .backer_help
3. Don't forget the point at the beginning and the underscore between backer and help!
4. Our bot (Kible Bot#9933) will send you a private message with further instructions on how to claim your role.
   If you haven't received a DM, please set your DM open first! (Privacy & Setting > Server Privacy Default > Allow direct messages from server member)
5. Please note that you must enter the role code that has been sent to your email. DO NOT post your role code in the public channel, only on DM with Kible!
6. After Kible Bot confirmed that the registration succeeded, you should be getting your role in a few minutes.
7. If you have an issue with the process, please ask for help to our wonderful mods and/or Community Manager.
