Up to you? I like the story, so I wouldn't want to skip through it since I'd be losing on immersion which is the big reason why I play this game - but you do you :)

I personally prefer using the horse to get around the island for my daily foraging routine. I like how fast and smooth it runs as compared to using the dash function over and over

Hi, I just started playing CI, any tips for a total beginner?

hmmm..... Idk if these are tips really? but I'll tell you my strat. Alter>museum. Progressing the alter and diving are, in my opinion, what will progress storyline and town rating best/most quickly. Also I always play at 50% for time speed cause I'm making the most of my days and trying to get lots done. But it's up to your coziness preference in the end.

musuem is important for sure but if you find something that the altar also needs, I always offer before I donate.

also off topic from that I have a dream shed. I want a milk carton shed man.... how cute would that be?

Got a better spring yr1. Don't think I can optimize much more, except if it rained later. Maybe rank C one day earlier but got summer trees in ground in time for 1 harvest.

Buying the like 300 seeds and 20 candied from the 2nd festival is super useful for energy management. Never use spring bc times more valuable.

is there a way to make leg fish spawn? i know the gotta be sparkles but i spent days looking for the ray before i finally saw a sparkle. doesnt seem like i need to fish to geneerate it or anything, just luck. but both good u can practically guarantee a quick or find a leg without relying on fishing rng. BUT bad that somethings the sparkles wont spawn when they should

pretty good. didnt get to grinding osmium for money as was focused on clearing all coral to get to rank C. But did okay. got 2-3 (enough for donate, sell, offer) for every bug/critter/fish except the fire mines ones i can do early summer.
