are you asking about Coral Island? This is the discussion for Funguys Swarm (which as far as I'm aware doesn't have multiplayer of any kind).
honestly once I finish maxing out all rest of them I'll probably just keep the magnet one equipped constantly. The utility of it outweighs all the rest of them by a significant margin as far as I'm concerned. The dash one is nice, but its utility is SUPER dependent on getting a dash based loadout which in a rogue like isn't a guarantee (even if re-rolls and banishes can make it more likely). The only other one that's somewhat good is the one that boosts weapon damage at the cost of range, which once again is somewhat dependent on going with a more weapon focused build. If you're going all in on skills exclusively you may not even be using your weapon after the first few skill pickups.

also as a follow up to my previous comment since the devs asked about it, just want to point out that the treeling that slows projectiles is actually dangerous on the stage one boss. During the bullet hell phase of the encounter because of the way the bullets enter the area of the slowdown they end up stacking up on top of each other making it significantly harder to weave between the bullets. It's actually easier to dodge them without the slowdown. Against single enemies or those that fire in a straight line (such as several of the mini-bosses in the ice level) it's useful, but I would absolutely not recommend taking it on the first level.

I've noticed a lot of people posting Coral Island questions in the Funguys Swarm channels. A suggestion for how to help with that is to do what I've seen some other Discord servers do and hide/restrict channels based on server roles. You already have a role system in place, it seems like it wouldn't be too much of a hassle to create a Coral Island role and a Funguys Swarm role and then hide the respective groups based on which of the roles someone has opted into. It wouldn't entirely eliminate the possibility of someone making a mistake and posting in the wrong channel, but it should hopefully cut down on how often it happens.

I find myself just constantly going back to a pure CD skill based build because it just works. I've been meaning to try some other stuff like a pure weapon focused build or a all fire abilities build to see if it can be made to work. Dash builds are probably my second favorite so far.

i think the game is little bit too easy
for the first two levels, once fully upgraded yes, but remember at some point we'll get more levels and it's likely those will be harder than the current ones.
I also wouldn't be surprised if they introduce higher difficulties.
actually just went and looked at the roadmap and it already has a new difficulty tier listed in the coming soon section this year.

hmm, I guess spammers using image attachments is the new meta to attempt to avoid auto-detection. Doesn't seem to help when they get reported for spamming within minutes of posting, and ban hammered a minute later. This is your regular reminder not to click on suspicious links in Discord (or anywhere else for that matter) if you want to avoid joining a bot net and getting your account banned after a spammer uses it to spread their garbage.
This is true even if you think you know the person. Their account could be hacked and used to hack yours, so if they randomly send you a link or anything, Verify. Verify. Verify. Discord has been a big target for these type of attacks lately.

Related to that you should almost never grant a bot permission to join servers for you, that's a HUGE red flag and a major way these spammers get you. You'll join a server and they'll ask you to approve their bot to get something, the bot will ask for permission to manage your servers, which will then be used to get your account to join servers and send spam messages on them.

Weapon choice is largely irrelevant, it ceases to matter after you grab the first couple skills. Usually I use the grape shot just because that's the one I've leveled up the most.
there's some skills that will be in the pool because you wield certain weapon tho 👀
true, although I don't typically rely on those ones (I also avoid all the skills that scale off weapon stats like fire rate)
my go to skills are frozen splash, leafblade, splash shot, soulboom, stardust, shockwave, boulder bonk, and if there's nothing better whirlpool. For passives the most important are quickcast, followed by astral potency, and either mirror double and/or wider reach. For extra utility I'll usually grab one or both of magnetic attraction or big dreamer.
depending on mutation quick dash can be a good pick as well
Leafblade and shockwave is my must have skills too! and since I can't dodge very well, as you all are aware, I usually get the movement speed and attack speed passive👀

this is a pretty standard run for me. I'd say my must have skills are just splash shot, with my must have passive of quickcast, I can work with pretty much anything else
That's so intereting. To me that's a very boring skill (visually). I love grape barrege, and bear claws. It just looks so fun when everything explodes in red bursts
visually yeah, boring, but upgrade it with the mutation that causes lasers to persist for a few seconds, and the mutation that causes them to freeze enemies and it becomes an incredibly powerful crowd control ability that melts through enemies with ease
if you further stack it with mirror double passive you end up with 4 lasers going all over the place. With a maxed out quickcast you pretty much constantly have lasers on screen.
between it and frozen splash about half the enemies on screen are frozen at any given time (and with frozen splash it's somewhat controllable which half as it will be the one around the end of your dash). That last run I combined them with Soulboom which I had the mutation that applies it in an AoE and the one that causes 100 damage to every marked enemy when I dash. The net effect was enemies would show up, get frozen, get marked, then I'd dash, they'd explode in a giant chain reaction and when the dash ended anything not already dead would then get frozen, and the cycle repeats. With the fire rune added in the dash would also randomly cause a giant area of the screen to explode every couple seconds, but honestly the damage from that was pretty minimal and I think I'd rather get a different skill instead like the fire blades or leafblade, even whirlpool might be better.
I was mostly just testing out fire rune because I hadn't used it before, and the downside of 25% less weapon damage was utterly inconsequential at that point since I wasn't even using my weapon.

I maxed out grape and I'm slowly working my way through the rest of them. I'm assuming at some point there will be a balance pass and new skills that will make weapon based builds actually good, but for right now, particularly with the current difficulty curve it doesn't really matter. The main thing it does for you at the moment is it shortens the time to get that first couple skills.

I also feel (although I haven't actually proven in part because I don't think it's shown anywhere) that all the weapons do about the same amount of damage which really gives an advantage to the grape shot. It has range while the other two are restricted to melee, so all other things being equal, grape shot is better as you can kill stuff faster without having to actually walk over to it.
once I finish leveling the other two I'll try to make some weapon focused builds and compare how the 3 of them feel against each other.
it's just really slow because I'm only getting about 10 amber per run, and you very quickly reach the point where a single upgrade is over 10 amber. With 3 categories of upgrade, and 6 levels in each category that's 18 upgrades. Assuming an average upgrade cost of lets say 15 (early ones are pretty cheap at around 3 or 5, but the later ones start getting pricey at 18+), that's about 270 amber to fully max out a single weapon or 27 runs (that might be a bit high on the average, could be closer to 20 runs). That's still a considerable time investment at ~20 min a run.
Look at a nice little combo I found that allows you to practically go AFK unless there' a boss around
Try watching from the middle. Eatrth Spike mutated with Livingn Stone and Marked Earth let's you create a huge zone of crazy damage as:
When you dash you leave an Earth Spike zone
Zones explode on cooldown
Zones can stack on top of each other
Zones do not disappear unless you attack
Try doing that on grape shot lmao. I hope they add more weapon specific powers, they are what defines them the most by far
hmm, I'll have to play around with that one. There's no real point in bringing grape shot for me past the first 5 minutes or so, so if the garlic hammer has a more useful skill I'd certainly consider it.
Grape shot is the best for attack speed builds since it can shoot 2137 projectiles at once when mutated with Grape Barrage

Is it just me or are all powers/mutations that read "When you kill enemy with weapon attacks..." weak? I feel like enemies stop dying from weapon attacks and start dying fromm powers at some point in each run and these effects just don't activate at all

my guess (emphasis on guess) is that damage is done in a fixed order (it's often the case in games that for instance effects trigger in the order things are acquired or a hard coded ordering), and it would then depend on how much health the enemy had at the start. Most likely weapon damage goes first, and if the enemy is still alive then triggered effects start dealing damage. Whichever effect is active when the enemy finally runs out of HP is the one that gets the credit for the kill. This would make it very difficult to get weapon kills once enemy HP scales to the point where most enemies have more HP than the weapon can deal, but less HP than the total stack of effects can deal.
Ideally everything that dealt damage to an enemy within a certain time frame (say the last second or so) could get credit for the kill, but there's likely lots of reasons why that would be difficult to pull off

So ideally there would need to be a build that does weapon damage either faster than skills, or that doesn't do anything else.
my feedback to the devs was that some weapon focused skills rather than dealing damage in addition to the weapon damage, should instead modify the weapon damage. E.G. the lightning strike one instead of dealing random lightning damage to enemies on weapon swing, would instead add an extra X% lightning damage to the weapons attack damage. That would potentially solve a couple problems at the same time.
More like a crit effect rather than an additional proc, could be a viable solution.

To answer your original question, per the FAQ the game is not available on consoles currently but once it's out of Early Access they're hoping to be able to bring it to consoles.

There's not many. I don't have a specific list, but I'd be surprised if there's more than like 5 items on the list.
So, here's the list I came up with:
Macho Treeling
Hellfire Zap
Iron Shroom -> Fungal Reaction
Repulsive Shock -> Electrical Contact
Bearclaw -> Raging Claws
Thundar Strike -> Divine Punishment
Splash Shot -> Sacrificial Ice
Soulboom -> Prickly Reaction
it was honestly longer than I expected, but a lot of the mutations are for abilities I rarely if ever pick
really though, it's going to be pretty hard to put that together into something that's playable. You could maybe pull it off a little bit using Ersa because of the shields, or maybe if you get a health passive and some luck, but it's not going to produce anything like consistent damage output. To make a revenge build viable you'd need some kind of life drain weapon/skill that heals from dealing damage/kills, and nothing like that currently exists in the game.
Either that or a way to completely mitigate damage, which the closest you get right now is Ersa's shields, but there's no way to speed up shield regen which is going to severely limit your attack speed.

I do not believe you are right as most of these abilities are on cooldown (Hellfire Zap has upgrade that activates it on cooldown) so it's not like you lack damage when not taking damage
Ersa's slime ability can generate a lot of hearts with right upgrades. There's one that makes every enemy affected by it have 1% chance to drop ❤️ on death as well as one that makes it cover a huge area. Pick Lucky Dice to increase 1% by I believe 15% ( @sterile perch is that multiplicative or additive increment?) and you can have a lot of hearts
interesting, I wasn't aware of that upgrade as I never take the slime trail
Definitevely strong tactics - I didn't even manage to die once, and you have 3 healthpools. Each elite will drop 2 hearts when you only take measly 0.5 heart damage meaning 4 free hits each fight. They get shredded extremely quickly with revenge attacks. Should propably try something else for Bearclaw since it was not really doing much
Also either I am blind or 2 🌟 Macho has the same effect as 3 🌟 ?

__short answer - no, long answer is patch is already in QA and is basically in console approval purgatory. Hopefully we'll see something this month, but it all depends on how fast Sony/Microsoft are done with their QA. It takes longer since it's a bug patch.

echoing Cezzer above me, yeah the reddish center one usually the sweetest, and the yellow one is more tangy? I eat them alot here, mostly got the sweet and very juicy one too! They're quite refreshing and good to combat heat
maybe it depends on what part of the world you live in. Some places can probably get it relatively cheap while it's very pricey in other places. Where I am I know you can buy dragon fruit somewhere but it's not a very common thing (I think they might actually grow some around here, they're just not very popular). Apparently it's natively grown from southern mexico to northern south america, and cultivated in a lot of tropical regions. Any of those places it's probably cheap (or at least cheaper).

the new update is such a banger, these devs are really talented and have nice ideas
There are aspects of this update that I like, but also quite a few things I don't. The weapons are actually worse now than they were previously. Now that weapon upgrades and mutations take the place of a level up it's actually harder to level your skills. Additionally the weapon damage still feels far too weak. Any time you get a weapon damage upgrade it's practically mandatory at this point to keep ahead of enemy scaling. The patch notes mentioned a refund system was added, but I don't see any option to refund weapon amber upgrades. I made the mistake of investing everything I had into the new weapon and I hate it, but now none of my other weapons are upgraded anymore. I like that weapons now have mutations in the level, unfortunately the weapons still suck, and because the mutation is taking a level up slot it ends up hurting the actual damage dealing skills that would have been far better to take that level up instead. Additionally the mech seems to suffer from the same problem as the weapons in that it upgrades incredibly slowly in relation to the mushroom and dew upgrades. After running 3 missions I only managed to get enough to purchase a single first level upgrade of the mech.
Little tip on the new level boss, his move set makes either a movement speed or a dash cooldown passive practically mandatory, which doesn't feel great. It's either that or be prepared to just tank unavoidable damage.
also now that weapon upgrades are mixed in with skills and passives I think the reroll and banish quantities need to be increased, I find myself burning through them significantly faster and then being forced into picking upgrades that I really don't want to.
not sure if i understand correctly. if i remember correctly, previous to the update you had to use a skill slot and/or a passiv slot to improve your main weapon. those skill cards got removed and are now the mutations you get, and the weapon exclusive passives got also removed and are now part of the weapon level ups. you used a lv up bonus previously to upgrade those weapon skills/passives, and you do now, but now it is guaranteed every 3 levels.
that means your weapon is always a part of your build now, and something you should build around instead of completly ignoring it(like you could do before)
Due to that i think its justified to only have 5 skill and passiv slots now.
i did a run on the new map with an zero upgraded bee stinger and it did almost as much dmg as one of my skills, even tho i didnt upgrade it with amber yet and picked seemly random passives and mutations for it.
i got 6 potatoes after running laval map once, enough to upgrade my mech once.
for the new boss, i didnt have a move speed upgrade outside of the dew upgrades in base and i used the charge reset treeling. there are 3 attacks where you absolutly need to use your dashes correctly, the dash attack, the ground slams and the roll.
For the dash and ground slam 2 dashes without any resets where enough to not get hit, but for the roll i got hit too.
I tried running aways as much as possible, bevore 50% it worked where i didnt have to use dash even, but after 50% he just kept rolling up and i couldnt get to avoid damage even with 2 dashes there.
the roll is the main offender as, particularly after phase 2 it's nearly impossible to dodge without using multiple dashes or move speed. The charge as well can be problematic in phase 2 depending on how lucky you get with the bounces, sometimes one or two dashes is enough to avoid it, but sometimes you end up needing 3 or even 4. The flame breath might also give you a bit of a problem if you don't react to it fast enough when he fist starts it (leaving you deep inside its AoE).
as for the weapons, the nice thing with the old ones was you could just banish the useless passives like weapon attack speed. Now there's no way to banish the weapon skills away. I'm also not sure how you're measuring the damage, but I took stinger and played the new fire level and it was taking 3 or 4 hits to kill a single enemy even with multiple damage upgrade cards being selected and with it fully leveled with amber. The only way I managed to survive was via skills killing things as if I had relied on the weapon I would have been swarmed and killed at the 10 minute mark.
one skill activation would kill dozens of enemies, as opposed to needing multiple weapon attacks to kill just one.
the best strategy I've found for dealing with the roll is actually to get in close to him and dash to the side as once he gets moving his turning radius is abysmal. You can just sort of chill next to him while he orbits around you.
the only tricky part is before you can pull that off he needs to build up a certain amount of speed, so timing is really critical and if you screw it up it's really hard to avoid him even with multiple dashes
just tried that and i think thats how youre supposed to do it yea, worked good for me
i also did a 15 curse hard mode run with the grapeshooter weapon, and while the start was very rought, i managed to create a build wich was able to clear it with ease. I say again, i didnt feel like the weapon actually is worse the before than patch, in fact, the same build i used to clear the frozen map on hard with 15 curse before the patch, but today my build felt even stronger due to the new weapon stats/mutations.
i didnt choose any dmg stats for my weapon, only attack speed since those can trigger my skills faster
more attack speed/projectiles meant i triggered my dirty bomb, thunderstrike/spear and bearclaw more, unfortunately i only found bearclar and thunderspear really late in the run
I suppose to be fair, the weapons themselves aren't technically worse, but the system is worse because it makes the skills worse. In the old system I could regularly max out all my skills and passives either before or shortly after getting to the boss. Now that's almost impossible due to not being able to banish away the weapon skills causing them to steal levels that would have previously gone towards skills and passives. It would be one thing if the weapons felt significantly more powerful, but they don't. A fully leveled weapon in the old system feels pretty much identical to one leveled up in the new system, which is the problem. Weapons still suck, but now you're forced into using them. What I wanted was weapons to be better but still optional so you could choose to make an awesome weapon build, or you could stick with the already awesome skill build. Instead what we got is sucky weapons that you're forced to take and in exchange the skills became worse because you can't level them as effectively as you could before.
The simple fix I can think of would be to increase XP gain by about 25%, that would allow you to level up your skills at about the previous rate. Of course that wouldn't really fix the weapons, but it would at least get things back to about how they were before. In addition to that weapons need a damage buff. I'm honestly not sure how much of one, but most weapons should easily be able to one shot most of the enemies all the way until just before the boss. The melee weapons already have a range limitation so they should definitely have the damage and cleave to wipe out just about anything that gets within melee distance. The ranged weapons are the only ones you'd need to be a little careful on because of the multi-shot capability. The main bullet should still one shot most enemies, but if you take the multishot mutations you'd need to tweak the damage on those to make sure you're not making them too powerful.

When youre forced to use your weapon, and build around it now, they should feel stronger yes.
i remember in my run i had to do like 4 shots with the grapeshoots to kill a single mob in the lava hard map, so a damage buff would be appreciated.

I think he's talking about the challenges. Once you get close enough to one of them the other one disappears. I'm not entirely sure what he's complaining about, but I did run into a problem where they spawned in right when I was in the middle of a dash and one of them happened to be close enough that when the dash ended the other challenge despawned. I'm not even entirely sure what the second one was because it was literally on screen for less than a second.
yes you can only do one now, before patch you were able to do both.
Not sure what he means with showing all choices now, pretty sure with 0 curse it always shows the reward type for both, and only makes them hidden with curse on.
yeah, that's the bit that confused me about his complaint. Without curse it's obvious which is which, and with curse... well, that's kind of the point, you just have to pick one at random. Also my point from before was that they shouldn't spawn in so close you can accidentally pick one. It should take an actual choice on your part not just because one happened to spawn in so close you were practically on top of it.
does it happen often? i only did around 6 runs since the patch and i never had the objecitves spawn close to me
no, it's pretty rare. I just got really unlucky. I think it was like... the 3rd time I had done one after the update?
they just need to bump the minimum spawn distance up a tiny bit, or reduce the distance you need to be before the other one despawns

So, the reason it's sometimes a "?" is because of the fire curse that has a chance to hide what type of challenge is there. It's supposed to be one of the punishments for having a high curse level. The fact that the old system let you just go look at what was at that location to get around the curse wasn't really the intention. The entire point of high curse is that it's supposed to be more challenging and not letting you pick your challenge is part of that (along with stronger and harder to kill enemies). If you always want to be able to pick your challenge reward just keep your curse level at 0 by avoiding the fire skills.
That does highlight one of my complaints though, which is that once you've maxed out the dew and mushroom upgrades there's really not anything you can do with those resources. That in turn makes the things that reward them in missions completely useless. At this point for instance if I get to a challenge and see it's a dew reward I don't even bother with the challenge as I already have a ton of dew that I can't use at all. There needs to be either a way to convert resources you don't need into the resources you do (like trading dew and shrooms for amber or potatoes), or some other thing you can spend those resources on.

Well, as someone that doesn't play Coral Island (and who doesn't own a PS4 for that matter) I'm happy with this. Besides they've stated it's different teams working on this and Coral Island, even if this didn't exist you wouldn't be getting Coral Island on other platforms any faster (or maybe at all, I've got no idea what their plans are with that game).
I'd also say it's unlikely we'll see much of anything new being released for the PS4. It's getting pretty old these days (over a decade old and discontinued last year) and a lot of companies aren't going to be able to justify spending the resources to port things to an older system that's unlikely to see enough sales to justify the expense. In theory it should be relatively simple to port something from the PS5 to the PS4 since hardware wise they're very similar to each other (at least on paper), but there's significant testing effort and performance could be a problem (not that I'd expect something as simple as Coral Island to run into any performance problems on anything more powerful than your average phone). The Switch (I'm assuming you're talking about the Switch 1 rather than the Switch 2) is a more interesting one though. There's still a significant number of people invested in the first one that aren't interested in picking up the second one since it doesn't really bring anything new to the table. It could be worth the time for most companies to support both generations of Switch still.

You're right it explains Mark and Shock, but what about starlight. No card explains it
I'm not sure about outside of a level, but I remember at least one of the skill cards that applied starlight included a tooltip that explained what it did. From what I remember it marks an enemy for some amount of time (10 seconds maybe?) and if they die within that time they drop double XP. I'm not 100% on that though, my memory is a bit fuzzy... they might also take some bonus damage or something.

I found the MOST BROKEN BUILD EVER
With this build you don't even need any luck or any upgrade
I don't know if it's a bug or not but it made this game super easy
All you need is 2 things and that's it
Shadow walk +onion hammer
It's an easy win 😄
The rest is you can even use dash or move or magnet or anything none combat related and still win
I did this in all the runs and won all of them with this I reached a 100% winrate
I mean moon walk is really strong. But why the garlic hammer? Mean, I know if you time it right you can charge the garlic hammer during the moon walk time, but I feel there is better strat. in the night cards.
There is but this one is broken bc this 2 only is enough for you to beat any map

Yes, it kinda does. if you start the moon walk while the hammer is already charging it keeps charging and holds the attack until the moon walk I over.
I am not so great with the garlic hammer. Still sounds kinda difficult, when the map is really full.

I think shadow walk + spinnies like leaf blade skill card and Stardust should be abble to carry you, you mostly need to keep walking around safely without worrying about taking damage. and collect the exp to conjure more stardust
Shadow walk gives you invisible, replacing the dash
Well it depends a lot on the combinations.
If it's about high DPS only you could go with thunderspear + grapes strat. The thunder spear trigger after a number of attacks. If you increase the speed of your grapes, and get mutations like fan shot, shots on dash, your DPS goes crazy high.
The lightning walk is also really useful, you become invincible for a time, and you can keep shooting grapes. Plus you can get a mutation that sets you attack speed to the increased movement speed during the lightning run.
But it is b bit harder to get all cards and mutations for this strat sometimes.
Otherwise a night card build (Moon walk and mana fall) or beast cards can be really good.
Stardust is really strong, yeah

Yup. They really need to do a heck of a lot of rebalancing. Just cleared Frozen Pond boss in about 45 seconds vs the 5 minutes it takes with non-dash skills
Dash is the best, but necessary. The very hard levels have too much HP. Normal means don't do it anymore.
Bear claw, luck, thunder strike with grape's burst fan combined just tickles them.
Oh well; the devs seem pretty good at releasing updates from what I saw before picking up the game; I have faith it'll be fixed up

I noticed that when I select Throwing Grape's "Fanshot" mutation (each attack fires 5 projectiles in an arc), the skills tied to "after # of attacks" have a significantly higher proc rate.
I assume this means that these skills consider each weapon projectile an "attack" in their calculations, as opposed to the projectiles being a subgroup of one attack

for Volcanic Grape, it needs to be unlocked first from the Star Path. After that, it can appear randomly when you mutate Grape in the Arena. Hope this helps clarify things

i really think all fire affinity mutation for all weapons are bugged haven't tested hammer and hornet yet but on grapes and wm axe it doesn't show. I used like 8+ rerolls on the final mutation and no fire, the other elements... i've seen them.
quick check, is your Fire Curse already maxed?
Just a heads up, the Volcanic Grape mutation doesn’t only change the element, it also grants the Fire Curse as part of the mutation.

it gets way more manageable once you get the shroom upgrades. i'd even argue the game is a bit too easy with how powerfull some of those upgrades are

How do pets even work? I see thr mushroom upgrades that buff them but I never see them do any damage
You should complete the starpath first to unlock Rusdy, dear 👀 he will appear in the middle with the others
You can run with your pet after unlocking them by complete the starpath 👀

Hi, You can find in starpath what to do for unlocking things. For weapons its all about play style and skill combinations. I mostly play with grapes because i like trigger skills more than others.
That strawberry kept teleporting lol. Will try again for that. Need to complete 20k kills for that skill

How you unlock fuzzbug just by having 8 dark cards unlocked in your card library or have 8 in a run?
You need to unlock the Dark cards by choosing them during your runs. If you skip them when they appear as options, they won’t be counted as unlocked. So make sure to pick them when you see them ^^

yeah i used only for burn damage. shrooms took care of the boss even its not ideal setup for poison build
my fave combo with wm axe is moon slash, eagle, bear and lightning speed the other skill depends on what im lucky with

@pseudo coral Hi i saw your feedback. AS usual not all cards do same damage if you thing you boss fight takes lon time you can check leaderboard channel. There are multiple builds with high damage and short duration. Just hacing high damage with high duration doesnt make that build fast

was there a patch that said we need to do a new save? i scanned over the patch notes for the past like month and a half and i didnt see anything specifically calling out a need to start a new save. but someone told me i needed to and they said it was in the notes. am i blind
it was starpath update i think, but you don't have to make a new save per se. Just that it is recommended so you experience the progression better
