What sort of adapter are you looking for? Ideally we recommend against them if you can avoid them - swapping the whole cable out can be more reliable.

But assuming you're looking for a USB-A to USB-C adapter, as long as it is labelled 5 Gbps or 10 Gbps somewhere it should generally be fine. (You can also just swap it out for a USB-C to USB-C cable of the same spec or better)

Hi. Why does the installer window disappear when I want to update the stream deck software to version 6.7.2? It downloads normally but the moment the window appears it disappears after a while and nothing happens. I have to restart the Stream Deck application

Hi,

I'm interested in buying a Neo Game Capture. The Game Capture HD that I have from 2012 or so used to have a software that needed to "know" what console was the input source. So when I plugged a 360, it had to be set as HDMI to know it was a 360, and for a Wii, I had to set the settings for a AV cable.

Now that the Neo has only a HDMI input, I need to use an adapter from SCART / AV to HDMI, will it be read by the Neo ? Because it's not read by my old Game Capture as it's technically not a console source.

That'll depend on the adapter, but most should work find if they upscale to a standard resolution. You can see the formats supported by Game Capture Neo here: https://help.elgato.com/hc/en-us/articles/26438781217933-Elgato-Game-Capture-Neo-Supported-passthrough-and-capture-resolution Just make sure your upscaler / adapter outputs in one of those and it should generally work.

You're never going to get a capture card with zero delay due to the fact it takes time to decode a HDMI signal, reformat it into something the computer can use, transmit to the computer and then render on the screen - though if you have a second display in HDMI passthrough, you can play on that without all the latency added by those steps (Gaming oriented capture cards usually have HDMI Passthrough via a HDMI out that takes the HDMI in signal and splits it off to HDMI out so you can play without any added latency from the capture process on a second screen).

Right now even the fastest capture cards still have about 2-3 frames of video of delay (about 30+ milliseconds) so I would recommend any of the gaming capture cards with a HDMI out and playing on that, since you're working with rhythm games that require pixel precisive timings (assuming you can't just continue to play on the iPad's screen).

Other than that, looking up the spec for it, iPad Air Gen 4 seems like it does a max output of 4K30 over a HDMI adapter, so HD60 X would probably be the best match.

If you're looking to do another console at 4K120, yeah, 4K X would be the way to go. Makes sure your PC has a USB 3.2 Gen 2 (or 3.1 Gen 2 / 10 Gbps) USB port or better to get the best results out of it though

I did recommend a capture card - just that if you're playing rhythm games use the HDMI out to connect it to another monitor in passthrough so you don't have to deal with latency from captured video. That way you can still capture the video through the card, but play on the other screen with passthrough so you don't have to deal with the added video latency from the captured video feed (if you're still playing direct on the iPad itself there's no real need for passthrough though, since that screen will still be realtime).

If you have a PC (with a free x4 PCIe slot), 4K Pro also works, yes. Sorry most folks I see trying to capture iPads tend to play on mac so I assumed you'd need the external USB basedcard without checking.

No, neither of them support Lightning cables, nor will they work via Lightning to USB Adapter as that's limited to USB 2.0 speeds and isn't fast enough.
If you're trying to capture the iPad you need to get a AV adatper to convert it to HDMI first.

Corsair does own Elgato. So the Corsair keyboards with G-keys should be compatible with the elgato stream deck software as well.

Of course before you buy, you should look up the keyboard since there were a lot of keyboards before Corsair acquired Elgato.

I own a K100 keyboard and with a lot of tech support from Corsair's support team for about 6 months. We got the G-keys to work with the stream deck software.

Given CS6 predates the first Stream Deck by 5 years, and CS Cloud was already out for 4, probably not. You could still setup Hotkeys and such to work with Photoshop though.

Given the points on driver and using the wire itself, keep in mind you're converting from a HDMI video format into a format the computer can use instead. There's no abnormal stuff getting sprayed into the driver since the new cards all use standard UVC, and standard video formats for computer.

hello. I have a question regarding a pc that I'll get. I plan to buy elgato 4k pro new capture card and rtx 4060ti 16gb with an average cpu like i5 12xx 13xx and just record 4k60 sdr footage from ps5 and xbox series x on obs or elgato capture utility as I have no clue how these both works or if they should work at the same time etc. new card supports hdr to sdr conversion I believe so I also will use that. footage will be recorded in 4k60 8bit 50.000 bitrate in mp4/mov container with hevc and will use hardware encoding, I guess its called nvenc. will this gpu and cpu be enough to capture without stuttering or drop frames nor encoding overloaded issues in obs?

Depends on what you need. Plus has dials which are nice for volume and lighting control. It also unlocks the Wave Link software mixer by Elgato. Mk2 is cheaper has has more buttons though so you can have more actions up on a single page

I have an AT2020 and I replaced it with the Wave DX, Dynamic fits better for me than a large condenser. SM7B is also a dynamic microphone

I have owned and used the AT2020 XLR, Shure SM7B and WaveXLR and of the three find for my voice range the Wave is the best.
The Shure is incredibly bassy but I found that it wasn't as strong with it's gain as I wanted in a microphone and required something like a cloud lifter to get me the sound I wanted.
AT2020 is an okay starter mic for someone but it's sound can be more tinny if you're not using a lot of equalizers.
So out of the box with minimal fuss the best mic I have is my Wave DX + XLR. It's also the loudest of my three mics

This was my preamp setup for each mic too:
AT2020 + Focusrite Scarlet 2i2
Shure SM7B + Focusrite Scarlet 2i2
Shure SM7B + GoXLR
Wave DX + Wave XLR

For me personally I was looking for good sound for my needs/budget. I worked as a broadcaster for many years so as I got further into my craft, I put more into my setup. Prior I used a headset mic and it was plenty for my needs.

question is it better to stream in 1920x1080 or 1280x720 cause when i stream in 1080 obviously the picture quality is better and looks good but when i use 720 the picture quality is a bit blurry and when i use 1080 for example or 720 when people come and watch my stream they can only choose those qualities and ik from my friend he says he cant watch my streams cause his device cant handle 1080 so im wondering would it be better to use 720 instead of 1080

If you don't have affiliate on Twitch, you don't get the transcoding that lets you select multiple resolutions (and only Partners get it all the time). So this is really going to be a tradeoff that comes down to how fast a system and internet connection the viewer is on (often I hear tell of folks with mobile connections preferring 720p for viewing as well). If you have affiliate or partner probably keep at 1080p, but if there's users trying to view your stream who can't I'd probably drop it down to 720 since they're specifically telling you they're having issues.

Though if you're using the new enhanced options that lets you send multiple resolutions from your own setup that may be possible. You'd need to be on OBS 30.2 or newer, and enable enhanced broadcasting, and then you can send along a 1080p and a 720p stream iirc. I haven't played with that feature much yet though

Alright, I need some sort of a rec. I travel a lot for work and work off a folding 8ft table. I need a shelf or something that I can easily pack and travel with that I can put on the desk to raise a Mac Studio and an external drive that's about the same size as a horizontal XSX, with the top facing me. It doesn't need to be high, just a few inches off the table, enough that I can run cables under it. . . and maybe store a couple small storage containers.

For anyone who might be considering getting the USB-Hub, just wanna share a little anecdotal experience.

I have been having some issues for roughly 3 months or so, now, with my PC, only when I stream. I’ve suspected it was something USB related for a while, but have been entirely unable to isolate it.

I got my USB-Hub, which, in theory, did nothing other than lessen the total cables going into my PC.

It, however, fixed three massive issues. I no longer have the frame drop I’ve been dealing with 3 months, I no longer have issues with my dual sense, and of course, my desk looks gorgeous.

11/10 would recommend.

Unlikely I think as they're not the only company to lock their audio app to having one of their devices, but you never know. You can submit it to #feature-request . As far as I know right now though, the only workaround for that is a Corsair Voyager Laptop as those also unlock Wave Link.

That's probably a question for #stream-deck since the USB Dock is a stream deck accessory - but yes it should work standalone. Make sure you're connecting the PD power supply to the right port on the back. check if the other devices are showing up at all with something like USB Tree Viewer

Usually indicates a connection issue. Unplug it, and reconnect it - make sure it's firmly connected all the way. Restart the computer if that doesn't help and if still no good, ask over in #stream-deck community help section or contact #official-tech-support

It's a powered USB Hub - do you have a power supply (not included) attached to it? Otherwise the StreamDeck itself is going to use a good chunk of the power it gets from the host port in unpowered mode.

Camera hub matches the settings of whatever your camera is set to in an app that uses it. Eg, if set to 720p60 in OBS using the Virtual Camera, Camera Hub switches to match. But beyond that ,put it in the other channel as Richard was saying

I'd just like to share my deep dis-satissfaction with my Elgato products and the software.
If you're reading this and were looking to purchase Elgato products, I highly recommend against it, based on my experience so far.

it's not a USB issue. I have 20+ USB devices and none of the other devices I use have any issues like the Elgato devices too, it's just bad/incomplete/buggy software.

there have been reports of issues with elgato products causing issues with sleeping/resuming going back for years now.

just look at all these issues on reddit when searching for 'sleep' in r/Elgato

Hi there, you can post related questions in #stream-deck and #wave-audio , but this is a community support and if it seems to be a software issue you are noticing I would recommend waiting on the ticket you opened with Elgato. It may also be worth trying to go in your power settings and setting usb selective suspend setting to disabled.

Sorry to hear that, that fixed some internal usb issues I had. I think the official ticket is your best course. Only other things I could recommend trying are checking chipset drivers, and any usb drivers, and checking for bios up\configurations that could fix it.

When you sleep a device it suspends the usb even if you tell it not too. Once you resume things ideally should come back to normal, but not all do. Anyway, as I stated earlier, it’s usually ideal to either just shut down and start the PC back up when you need to use it as opposed to sleeping it. It’s usually a simple thing anyway best of luck to you.

• Twitch Tools by BarRaider

I mainly love using the "Channel Monitor" action when I'm not streaming to see which of my favorite streamers are live straight from my Stream Deck! Pressing the key also can open up a browser directly to their stream, mod dashboard if you're a mod, and more!

• Windows Mover & Resizer by BarRaider

And there's a ton more, but I'm currently not home so I can't check my Stream Deck profile to see the other plugins I use hahaha

Maybe someone else can also provide some plugin recommendations for daily use!
