The original source is only textual, so we don't have any IP copyrighted visuals to Blue Bird

I would say it's similar to what TGC did with TLP spirits. Story and cosmetics being inspired by the play instead of using the original designs.

Will point out, while both Blue Bird and Alice are both public domains, however Blue Bird does not have any major IP adaptations at all. There were some adaptations but still varied greatly and quite old, including some plays in European countries in the 20th century and there's also an 80s anime of it somehow lol

Anyway let me reiterate my points about the cape redesign in #beta-screenshots-videos message based on my opinion on the cape as an artist and designer:

• The original cape is visually well balanced with all the silver detailing, the large areas of blue balances the striking and glimmering shine of the silver. On the redesign, the "birdy" shape and the extra tail overcrowds the design due to narrower blue areas and more corners and all that. It is visually cluttered and "overdesigned", when you account for the galaxy underside of the cape.

• the slimmed down collar, while it may be appealing, however if you consider the pants with collars, the clipping will be noticeable as well. That is why the cape collars are usually and oftentimes wide to accommodate as much pants as possible.

• The spirit with the cape, Divining Wise Grandparent seem to represent the Future King (or scholary figure of any kind), which means they are never directly related to the blue bird. The Blue Bird in the book is a symbol of happiness. Never a character or anything. It is a metaphor.

It's like saying Momotoro (The Boy Who was Born from a Peach) needs to have every single character to be peach themed with this logic, when the actual story it is only referring to one character while the rest are animals, demons etc.

So following how tgc is likely focusing on major projects like the Two Ember seasons, these recent "collabs" so far are basically tgc utilizing time by having a clear property to work with. The season retells the original story while featuring cosmetics from characters in the story serve as a convenient way so tgc won't have to spend time and ideas for a new season. The way they're handling collabs rn feels similar to the many Tom and Jerry collabs w famous kid stories/films

It’s such a pretty design though and the entire universe in the inside of the cape is to die for. Very curious to see if this is its final form

I feel like the capes this season are both very distinct and I have a bit of trouble pairing either of them, but my wardrobe in beta is also limited compared to live so I do wonder if I had more things maybe I could try other combinations

I do love the detail of the cape though, and the galaxy lining is perfect

Same! I figured they all blow in and collect though sometimes I wonder if it's the other way around, since eventually they would just spread out through the windpaths to one another. It could be that they all got spread out from one place and something about each area impacts what varieties can survive, or maybe it's a result of filtered light. Something about Wind Paths' area enabled all colours.

white will still probably be much easier to get, since it has a higher spawn rate in prairie peaks, but there's no similar location for black, from what I've noticed

I think they could remove the diamond thingy on the wing accessory, and make it that wearing them would make diamond forehead on those masks glow blue just like how the yeti pants affect the eyelashes

Idk how challenging it may be in the coding but maybe could be considered

Tbh the diamonds on the masks are off centered so it would look odd on many masks that look symmetrical

its something i like as it is rn with maskless, but tbh i think id like it more if the diamond was placed more like how the placement is for elder masks in general (bit over the crown)

Yeahh I think the main issue is that it's a little off centered on maskless since its meant to match with the diamonds.

Maybe make the diamond differently shaped (like the star on the pendant) and it floats over the masks? Instead of matching with the diamond masks

Cozuki I went and looked at nastymold videos on radiance and yeah the radiance cosmetics were accessed in the in shop bundle and it has the same wording (IAP and IGC test items) so it's just the standard for beta

Hi! I had the same problem and I found that constantly swiping up and using up wing boosts helped me catch up to the bird

I also had the same problem! Using the wing boosts helped me out too, though I was stuck opposite to the bird in it's path so it took some time to catch up. ^^'

I notice when you start out chasing you're in free control but as you get closer your camera kinda locks on and you just have to flap flap flap quickly to catch up then hit the hand button fast, it's a weird experience kinda reminds me of being trapped in the wind tunnels in windpaths

I guess it's meant to be so we're not needing to do aerial gymnastics to reach the bird cause we're tied to its own path, but it definitely is counterintuitive when we're used to being able to move more freely

Hi! Im not a beta tester, but i look in the beta screenshot and videos channel quite a bit, and was personally wondering about something.

With the new blue bird face accessory, the one with shiny blue feathers, do we have to wear the cosmetic in order to have access to the new blue bird call? Or do we not need to wear it? Just curious is all.

Well, but I suggest that if it is a problem in testing new players, I still hope to recruit a small number of test players, because I have also heard of resetting accounts. It's beta, it's never meant to be a replacement to live version. Plus the existing beta testers are more accustomed to testing and feedbacking rather than the new testers so they have a reliable group of players that way ^^

The new icon testing is going to be applied to accounts of testers who volunteered to progress wipes so it won't happen to everybody, but as Grey said beta is for testing and breaking and this is just a part of that

That's where I'm at yeah. It feels more like a representation of what people want. And when they achieve that goal, it shrivels away because it doesn't truly give you happiness
