Yeah I get it, it does feel a bit weird to have old, og cosmetics suddenly able to change in appearance quite dramatically lol. I think it’s a good change in general though! Try testing it out! It looks like some parts of the original cosmetics stay untouched, which I like, since it means the original spirit of the cosmetic is still there. Just a new spin on a pair of pants or cape I loved! You might end up enjoying it too.

I feel like there is some lore involved, we see old spirits and I feel like there is something to explore about the dark plants. The season is still fresh so there could be lots more we're not seeing or havent explored yet.
Even if it's light on lore, personally I'm not certain how much I would want a in-depth storyline for what ultimately ends up being cosmetic dyeing, it might feel out of place?

I also imagine they may be saving the bulk of the heavy lore for the Two Embers seasons. So I'm ok with a less lore-heavy season now, with the promise of more lore later if that makes sense.

There was a change around the time of the August incident where unfriended players (acquaintances) stopped staying lit once they transitioned to another room. ex. If you light someone in the Golden Wasteland social space, then you go through the vortex to Broken Temple together, they will revert to being gray. Originally you could light someone and they would stay lit up as long as you played together in the session and they did not close their game.
I can not track down for sure if it was implemented the day of the patch or after the incident was resolved.
It has not changed since it was first noticed by players.
Was this done for server concerns, is it servers failing to update (like the moth glitch that began around December 2023), or something else that can not be stated?

when it comes to seasons i like to think its a radar chart to balance between lore, levels, gameplay mechanics
its impossible to score perfectly on all fronts so you have choose which you prefer score highly on or just balance everything out

You can double-pink or single-pink dye, both appear different, theres a lot of color combinations so you can pick what pink looks best to you. There is also pink+ white, or white+ pink which also have individual variations, it looks like!

It might be because of how the colors are mixed. I noticed that for example, for one of the color spots if you do white + pink, it is a lighter pink than pink + white, which is a darker pink.

So red+ pink might be more red-tinted than pink+ red.

I feel like it takes way too much to collect dye pots.. I've done 3 realms solely burning dye color plants and haven't gotten one pot filled from the butterflies.

I get that you have to remove all of the vines before you get to the plant, but whenever I get close to completing that part someone has burned the main plant and I fail. We actually thought long and hard about which color approach to use--pigment (subtractive ) vs. additive (light.) We actually started with pigment mixing but realized that light mixing gave us a more Sky-like assortment of colors, as the mixing ends up weighted a little more on the cool side, vs. pigment ends up warmer. So we ran with it!

There's actually an artifact of the pigment mixing left in the fact that the colors are not arranged in the correct rainbow order I fixed that today for the next patch, whenever that will be

Talking about dyeing cosmetics, is there a particular design reason/restriction or concept artist demand that

• Dyeable slots caps at two per single cosmetic
• Many primarily one or two color cosmetics do not dye their entire main color area, instead adding a gradient or dyeing only a small section of the cosmetic

So do we only collect dye if we get prompted for the butterfly emote after burning plants?
Or do all of the count if you do the emote yourself from menu and the get a butterfly to land on you?
