Ahh that's what it's about? I've been having that issue for a while and have been lost on why it's happening, I'm also hoping it'll be fixed soon.. (although I don't fully understand the explanation of the cause, I'm happy to hear I'm not alone with it and there's a clear reason behind it ^^;)

I'm pretty sure it's why it happens - since it only happens whenever one of my CPU cores is being maxed out by the game.
(you can see the individual CPU utilisation in Task Manager by right-clicking the overall graph and selecting "Logical Processors")

for me it's not a huge issue that one core is being fully utilised, since my CPU has 16 cores (and 32 threads) - but with a CPU that has less cores (eg the pentium in my Surface tablet running Linux has only two), it's a bit more of an issue.

(actually that tablet already is GPU bottlenecked since it only has Intel UHD Graphics, but yeah. more heat generated also means easier to thermal throttle.)

Oh yes I can absolutely see that being problematic. I've got 6 cores and 12 threads, I haven't really noticed it being an issue for me, but who knows, maybe it's affecting something without me realising. I have had some more lag spikes than before as of late in areas that the game tends to have some performance trouble with (e.g. Sanctuary Islands). So maybe that could be a cause

I wouldn't be surprised if it could contribute to lag - even if it doesn't max out the core that the game code is running on, it certainly does produce a lot more heat.
More heat generated means that, if the cooling solution isn't adequate, the CPU will start thermal throttling - reducing performance to avoid overheating.

I play on iPhone and it’s incredibly smooth, runs 120fps and everything. It only lags when apps run in the background such as twitch or something

Yee, it's definitely not optimal to be gaming on a laptop, but a laptop is quite essential to me right now so I make do with it ^^; this one does have an unintegrated GPU which definitely helps though. And the thing about the lag is that it used to run Sky without those lag spikes, but then they started appearing. It could probably be my laptop too though, as it's quite old already for today's standards (six years if I remember correctly)

Phones use ARM instead of x86, which is more power efficient - that probably has something to do with that.
For what it's worth, my budget phone (Samsung A22 5G) struggles even more to run the game than my Surface Go 3. (which is likely GPU bottlenecked, given it only has an iGPU.)

And yeah, I do think that maxing out a CPU core would almost certainly cause extra lag on a system that's already got non-ideal cooling

hm, so I guess your CPU is bottlenecking the game, and then the extra thermal load from another maxed-out core causes it to stutter.

(one core is maxed out regardless of CPU from what I understand - my CPU is a beast, the Ryzen 9 7950X, and that has one core maxed out when playing Sky.)

For non OOBs, I like the little cave tunnel in forest (after the first door), the little prince areas, the place with the tree in the 9 color deer area, there’s also a floating island very high up in sanctuary I like to go there because usually for me I’m less likely to server split to a server with people there… also I like the space under the rink in valley as well! And the place you play guitar with the little prince in valley also… for isle, I like the place where boogie kid is but all the way at the top, there’s a pond and butterflies.

you have custom emojis that you use as reacts. Magpie doesn't want their messages to have those custom emojis as reactions.
Magpie wishes that custom emojis from others servers could be blocked, and the user themself not blocked, however Discord doesn‘t have that feature.
in order to keep emojis from other servers being used as reactions on his messages, she unfortunately has to block the user of said emojis.

solution to this conundrum: just don't use the emojis from whatever outside server you're using said emojis from...

Wii Remotes use Bluetooth.
There's also software on Windows that connects to a Wiimote, and which from there lets you map it to an Xbox 360 controller.
By proxy, it should be possible to play Sky with a Wiimote + Nunchuck....

First test, using motion controls for the right stick...

it's too janky to play. so, I think I'll map motion controls to the left stick as well as the nunchuck, so that I can fly with the motion controls - and I'll make the D-pad into the right stick

Without mapping the motion controls, it works decently. A bit janky, since my wii remote's quite old and its nunchuck slot has gotten a bit worn down so the nunchuck's iffy. (I used it so much as a kid-)

One issue with UI navigation is the simple lack of bumpers. I could try to map the IR sensor to the mouse, but unfortunately my USB sensor bar hasn't arrived yet - so I can't for now. I might try motion controls some more - it's just a bit weird to move around when not flying with htem-

The motion controls were a bit wonky, mainly in that I couldn't both turn and go forwards at the same time. I'm not entirely 100% sure how to fix that, probably just something in the software I was using to get it to register as an Xbox controller.
I had to mess with the button layouts a bit to get something functional, since there aren't enough buttons to include both bumpers & everything else, but I was able to get the basics in. (honking, fave. emote, emote menu in general, jumping/flying, crouching/toggle flight mode, movement, camera usage. but the UI control is more like an utter disaster-)

Flying with the wiimote feels pretty good, although again it is a bit janky when it comes to making turns.
The nunchuck's connection is still wonky, though it got better after a few minutes of use.

The most surprising thing to me is that the Wii Remote just... uses Bluetooth. I didn't need to buy anything at all to be able to use it - just download some software that can connect to it via bluetooth & reinterpret it as an xbox controller.
I'm kinda curious if there's software to also use the Wii Motion+ too, since my (only official) wiimote has a Motion+ built in

I might make a guide on how to set up using it (on Windows at least, Linux I found easier but couldn't use the gyro or the nunchuck) for games in general, since most guides I can find online are about using it for Dolphin

I think, if you can get some kind of Linux running on it, then it could be possible? but I don't find this too likely imo. Steam Link is another option if you get Linux on it though
a Steam Deck would probably be better for a portable PC/console playing Sky, imo.

Outside of a sensor bar though, there's actually no extra hardware needed at all. unless your computer lacks bluetooth, in which case you'd need a bluetooth dongle.

because porting a game to a new platform isn't simple- you have to modify the code and potentially game assets as well to be compatible with the new platform. add to that, sky's code is already spaghetti. porting it to xbox would probably cause new issues (hell, even the pc port isn't fully polished and it's been out for over a year now)

I think Microsoft are actually working to bring more game storefronts to Xbox, from what I've heard?
So it might be possible that the Steam version could end up working on an xbox - especially since Xbox consoles essentially just run a stripped-down version of Windows.
