Imo umbrella is great if you're going for a stroll or accompanying a moth, but otherwise just aesthetics

After 10 minutes of inactivity your Skykid falls asleep and I'm not sure the umbrella will protect you anymore. Moreover, even if you're under cover, you might drift while asleep, it's not recommended to leave your Skykid in the rainy forest overall (afk is not good for the game and your device hardware either)

Hey cozy chat, do any of you know what percentage of the season of blue bird is complete for any of you? There is/was a glitch affecting switch players, including me, making it so we couldn’t log in and TGC hasn’t said anything about compensation after the weeks missed of play time. I’m wondering if I’ll be able to complete the constellation by the end of the season based on how far other players are. The glitch seems to be acting up again and I don’t know when I’ll be able to play again so I wanna know if I should worry or not.

The switch glitch is likely due to Nintendo's system update for the older switches so tgc isn't responsible (plus not everyone is affected, some could log in at the cost of server errors) for it but you could try to #live-feedback to ask for any compensations.

It really is, it's understandable. It's difficult for tgc to work with Nintendo to push out fixes due to policy and complicated communications and such. Plus not all games on switch are affected, certain games do get affected - typically non nintendo owned games but also hosted in the platform

For example, burning dye plants. Big honks potentially can cause discomfort for people, and is slower than candle when burning plants. Also, I’ve noticed that players will come by and deep honk to collect butterflies which has potential to result in buggy butterflies (either I’m unable to collect it or it’s a visual bug and the butterfly just isn’t “draining” of color) but I don’t think people know that when they do the deep honk they can bug it out for other people.

There’s also the waiting for other people to unlock the vault elevator thing…

Oh, when burning flowers I always used loud signals to burn them faster. When butterflies appear I stop doing this so that each player can normally collect butterflies. However, I did not think about the other side of the coin.. that the signals can be unpleasant for other players..

Ahh I did not mean to come across as justifying bad behavior. I’m playing devils advocate and also because I have experience being someone who is often considered socially slow. I definitely was not always a good sky citizen, and even now I may not know all the polite things to do (and sometimes do fail to do them).

So basically it kind of feels bad when people assume that I mean to be a bad or horrible person when I’m just slow to realize things (like when I say slow, I mean very slow. Especially since I’m a lone wolf player and had no one to teach me)

There is one thing I do that to other players may look like a rude thing potentially. So basically years ago I’ve realized that I don’t have to light up the vault elevator lanterns all the way. This way I can avoid the cutscene and save some time. To others it probably looks like I just went to the lantern and didn’t light it up but actually the lanterns lights itself up after a little bit. In that time you can sit where the meditation circle is and it will shorten the time between vault levels

but yeah it probably looks strange to other skykids

Regarding etiquette, I remember when I was a moth and lit a stranger's candle, they bowed to me (I hadn't done that yet) the gesture itself looked pretty cute and pleasant, so later I copied it when lighting candles of other unfamiliar skykids.

A few weeks after starting the game, I came across a video on YouTube in the recommendations with basic etiquette in sky. I had already seen many of those things in the game from other players and instinctively copied this behavior, it turned out pretty funny

We can say “its not supposed to be…” all we want…but it is rampant…notice they state “romantic” first in that press release. (I by no means mean to exclude male-male & female-female couples from these observations. I don’t run in those circles, so I wouldn’t notice as much. But I can’t imagine that they don’t experience similar undeniable situations.)

Cause I definitely loose some. I use to have 71 wing buff, I haven't been in Eden for a while but when I did finish it just few moments after this and went to orbit I only have 60. Before that I quit the game when I just got to orbit and claim the accended candles (I haven't done this before) but when I got back it forced me to go to orbit immediately so I did. Before I went there through shrine I have 71 wing buff which is suspicious cause I certainly got some more from ts but when I went to orbit to hopefully fixed it. It shocks me to find out I just loose more than I gain.

You can’t lose wing buffs you’ve bought. They can be depleted like regular WL, though they’ll be the last to lose, however you’ll always rebirth with what wing buffs you’ve bought.

Basically this game, essentially is not a place to look for potential dates. The biggest problem players come across with this "romantic" aspect is the players befriending them only for the sole intention of making them their romantic partners.

I know a lot of friends who play sky with their romantic partner, but that's how they hang out and bond over. It's their preexisting relationship. Romantic relationship can happen from the game, like after naturally bonding for a long time, they would become romantic later on but it's not forced, unlike how players download sky for the only intention of finding dates, this isn't a place for that, instead head to dating apps xD

It's just tgc acknowledging relationships that exist between players in this game. It's not a dating site.

Treating Sky as a dating game is problematic. Because you'll never how old the players are, this can cause uncomfortable situations for many players if yhe players come on sky to find dates. Don't forget that it's an all ages game.

Tldr: Sky is a friendship focused and a family friendly game, not a dating game

so give me a second to explain, because the glitch isn't happening anymore now that I restarted my switch console because of the consistent error communication messages keeping me from playing

I was looking at the friend posts for my friend snush (same one in the server), but some players were addressing them as if they were instead maxie/sparkie (also in this server)

and looking at the friend posts for maxie showed that it included the same posts I saw when looking at those for snush

but now that I've restarted my console, it's only showing one post for snush that properly addresses them by their name

so, there may be a chance of seeing posts for the wrong person when viewing a friend's posts. leaving your home area and going back may reset it, seeing as restarting the game/console resolved the glitch in my case

Hi, unfortunately if the evidences has been deleted, then there's nothing tgc could do. The most concrete evidence of that account using hacks by a user playing (since accounts don't detect whoever playing) is the database that tgc can access. If the ban is final, it is final.

Guys, I noticed that Sky's reddit has a kind of strange line of reasoning: Because according to them, it's wrong for TGC to put IAPs, as it capitalizes on the "deepest human desire to be unique" (those were the lottery words someone used), so there shouldn't be any paid cosmetics. So, I don't think TGC is starving or any of its employees are living under a bridge, but like, just because a game is free doesn't mean the devs can't make money. Literally only the accessories and the pass are paid, in addition to some candle packages that give literal white candles. I don't know, it seems like sometimes Reddit turns "we want to promote unity and friendship" into "we shouldn't make money from our own work about union and friendship". ....i dont understand what kind of logic that is. its a f2p game after all, and tgc needs the money to run their massive servers. iaps are to be expected. i do not agree with how they market some of their iaps (forced to buy at a higher price w/ white candles vs. cheaper but no candles), but lets be real, you don't need everything. if someone is determined to be a collectionist, be prepared to pay the price, as some things are bound to be cash grabs.

Some people just make stuff up to get karma too. Like someone claimed TGC takes all the Nature purchases as profit and don't donate any of it, rather than just some of the items (like the wave cape). Made a giant post trying to get more people angry, and a lot of people did.

Literally. The IAPs hold zero advantages over other players. Sure, I bought the Loafers, but that doesn't mean I'm high and mighty and a queen or whatever.

Sky would die so quick because there's no money to put into making new features. The devs already paid out of pocket to even make Sky come to life thanks to their other games, but that's about all they can do. Now it's our turn to help the devs keep this game afloat.

I am disabled and poor and need to be careful with my money. It is frustrating, but like... if I ever get to a point where my art makes money I feel like I should be paid for my art. It's the same thing with Sky. I think the pricing is a little meh but I DO believe in creators being able to make a living and support themselves. It sucks. But I feel like you can be critical or skeptical of the prices without going full blown into "They clearly don't donate" that sounds ridiculous and I would like to see proof.

My opinion on iaps are well they have to exist unfortunately. I think sky is much better than some games with iaps cough cough gachas. And yes sometimes the cosmetic I want the most is an IAP so I just need to determine if it’s worth the money. At the end of the day it’s a luxury and you can still be super creative with your skid with only free cosmetics

i think the two embers movies are a bold investment because it can potentially let more people get to know sky. i'd rather take iaps over forced ads that pop up every 2 minutes
