I love Android... I really do... But when it comes to Sky... I'd rather play it on an iPhone... If I had one that was relatively new... I would play Sky on iPhone... My friends with iPhones have much easier experiences with the game than Android. mostly because it's required to have the most powerful devices just to even run the game without crashing.

@humble copper I just looked up that weird controller of yours... I don't think it will work, here's why. That controller was designed for the Nintendo Switch... Nintendo Switch controllers are "direct input" controllers. Also I have tested the Switch Pro controller... Which doesn't work on Sky. Sky is looking for a "X Input" provided from the Xbox controllers... There are special drivers in Android to convert the PlayStation controllers to X Input. Though it is a really cute controller nonetheless...

No you can’t transfer betas, you’d have to join the iOS beta separately from Android beta.
Since iOS beta uses your apple ID as an identifier if you are a tester or not.
Which, I believe also means you can’t carry your beta progress from Android to iOS or iOS to android, unfortunately

Hmm, it seems to be working fine for me. Have you tried rebooting your phone? If so, you might try un-installing and reinstalling the game. If you do that, MAKE SURE you back up your account using one of the methods in the Account menu. DO NOT uninstall the game without linking your account somehow, or you will be very sad.

Yeah, see if that helps. Sometimes it helps to leave the phone off for 30sec before turning it back on. Gives it a more thorough reset.

Hmmm, that sounds like a different issue then. You can try reinstalling the game like I said (AFTER BACKING UP GAME PROGRESS) or you can submit a support ticket through the in-game menu.

My game is either completely bugged or I'm doing something very wrong. This morning multiplayer and servers seemed to work just fine. However, just a few hours later I log back in and it completely stopped allowing me to join any other players and I've been stuck completely solo regardless of what I do for hours. I've attempted restarts, changing the internet connection, a reinstall - nothing. Same issue.

Is there an update I'm not aware of or just what could be causing the problem? Does anyone have any ideas that could help??

Open Settings > Apps > (Your browser) > Clear defaults

Next time you use the pin it should give you the option to open it with Sky/Browser, choose Sky. Hope that helps!

Having a similar issue with star pins; Just tried the clear defaults on browser but scanning any star pin in the game opens a browser window with QR code and appstore links.

clicking on the QR code brings me back to the game with no noticable changes.

Where I lag the most is riding down the beginning of valley... Flying through the forest... The graveyard... 👀 And many other places that aren't heavily focused on clouds.

The minimum reqs to play Sky are in pinned! A lot of phones are good to play with sky so I can't exactly recommnd the best! But the phone I use is Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S in case you wanted some suggestions. The specs are pretty good to play heavy games and the price is just midrange

If you use Samsung there's an app called Sound Assistant, it's really useful, it has a lot of options including the option to control the sound of the apps independently

So you can mute Sky but still be able to listen to your music or whatever. It's only available for Samsung devices tho, as it is from Samsung

I got mine working by just holding the pins against the back of my phone where the receiver is. I'd look up where it's located on your phone, and then hold the back of the pin against it. I had to take my case of to do it, so it has to be pretty close.

If sky was only available on Android 10 and up, Then it would be easy... But sky also supports Android 9 and 8, which don't have those permissions readily available.

Make sure Google play games is installed and fully updated. Once in the game you will see a new save and you will have to watch the opening cut scene. Once that is over simply go to the account section in the settings (top corner) and sign in. It will then give you the option to abandon the brand new account and replace it with your old one. You will want to click abandon.

@warped orbit very unlikely. The most powerful Amazon fire tablet does meet the minimum requirements... With Android 9 and a GPU powerful enough... However, I'm not sure they come with the play store and even if they do... The GPU is on the low end of the compatible graphics chips. So even if it could... It will run terrible. In addition to severe heating problems.

@fast hearth your account is attached to your Google account... The only way to remove it from your Google account would be to contact customer support... if you want to use a different Google account, you must sign out of the Google account from the entire device. Then clear the data from sky, and you're good to go.

Donquixote, restoring purchases is for a very specific situation with your account. You would need to restore purchases if an in-app purchase (such as the starter pack cape) disappeared from your account completely. A restoration of purchases would basically force the game to search your Google account and pull the item from your Google purchases so it will appear again.

Anyone here know any tricks to scan pins on samsung quickly? Even after i take my case of it doesn't scan and i have to take of the protective plastic on it to get it to work. (and most of the time i have to sit there 10 minutes trying to get the pin at the right angle for it to scan) After it scans I have to stick the plastic layer back on and put the phone back in my case which is a bit complicated since it the very protective kind. (its a lot of effort and by the time I apply the case the spell has almost worn off)

My requirements in controllers are just ummm being able to move around, flying (do spin fly), can honk and rotate your body (to do chibi fall), can burn stuff when the fire icon appears on the screen.

Hey there! I play using the dualshock4. It has native compatibility with android 10.

Of course you could try other cheaper makes, but with the ps5 newly launched, most ps4 accessories should be on really good sale prices by xmas.

If you want to chibi fall with the controller though, you'll need a different method. Let me fish out the guide for you

Here you go:

Chibi Fall Using a Controller

Step 1: Activate/equip chibi; use sneak stance; and find a slope you wish to drop through.
Step 2: Hold down L2, and move the L-stick to fill the circle beneath your skykid's feet.
Step 3: Press and hold the O-button (or corresponding deep call button). Do not let go of L2 yet.
Step 4: Let go of L2 while making sure the L-stick is still angled when you do this.
Step 5: You should drop immediately.

*It takes a few tries to perfect this method, but once you get the hang of it, it's flawless. Best place to practice is ofcourse in Homespace on the slope behind Valley's portal.

**This method was tested using a DualShock 4 controller.

So there are alternatives like those from razer or nintendo switch controllers (not the joy cons but they look a little like D's up there). ofc there are even cheaper alternatives like oem makes, but these run the risk of not being compatible with Sky in that their buttons arent mapped correctly.

Incidentally, if you've got an xbox controller lying around, that has native support with android 10 too.

Hey there! So sadly, barrel rolls during flight don't work on controllers (with the exception of Mew's apparent oem), but according to them flicking your joystick repeatedly left is supposed to trigger barrel roll (it doesnt work on the ds4).

I use the Steelseries Stratus Duo - it acts like an Xbox controller, and I play games on my computer a lot too so I really like it because it has a switch on the back to go from connecting to a phone to connecting to a PC and back almost instantaneously
The dpad is also massive, making it much easier to navigate menus or play 2D platformers. The only things I have against it is there is no rumble and it can't work on an actual Xbox...

They don't like transferring ownership of an account because some people try to sell an account with lots of wl or stuff. They really really don't like it. 8 was able to link it to my fb account and backup that way.

But honestly, if you can find any other way to solve your problem, it will probably be easier than trying to change the Google account associated with your Sky progress. :/
