I could have been looking at it wrong... It's likely that for devices that can pull 60FPS they got rid of the booster def... Replaced it with high performance 60 FPS and added an additional high definition for those people who wanted extra crisp. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I still think they should add a more comprehensive settings menu... where even people with stronger devices can turn down the settings to preserve battery... And I don't mean dropping the FPS to 20... pSquint I mean lowering the resolution while keeping the FPS.

If you want to add a Friend directly into your constellation without having to find them in-game, you can create and send a QR Code Friend invite. Your friend will need to scan or import the QR code to accept the invitation. Below are the two methods for QR Code invitations.

Offline QR Code (Invite):

Tap the cog in the top right corner of your screen.
Tap the Invite icon that looks like a QR Code. (This icon is also present in the Favorites section of your Friendship Constellation.)
A dialogue opens that allows the user to Create or Scan Friend Invite. Add the desired name of the invitee here and click Create.
Click Share to invoke the native share options. Select one (i.e. email) and send the invite.

Launch Sky.

All right... There are a few specifications that sky requires a particular Android device to have... Some of this may be confusing to understand but here they are.

#

Sky requires Android 8 or higher
ARM 64bit with Neon
At least 1.5gb RAM
OpenGLES 3.1 Extension Pack
Vulkan Version 1.0.3 or higher
Vulkan Level 0 or higher
up to 3gb storage to download and install all levels

If you're unsure which version of opengl or vulkan your device supports, there are apps in the play store that can tell you.

Unfortunately, devices that use PowerVR GPUs are incredibly unstable RN.

Make sure the operating system is 64-bit. Sky WILL NOT run on a 32-bit operating system.

In fact, some people have a initial scale value greater than 0.2. This value plus a height value close to +2 is the player-defined NO.0 height, and a player with a negative scale value is only NO.2 when his height is close to +2.

Simply put:

-android 8 and above
-64bit OS

everything else after that ie: smooth gameplay will be decided by your processor (generally speaking, anything with a snapdragon is a good bet).

However, Sky shows as incompatible on the one version of Android x86 that has arm 64-bit... Sky can run on it (tested) but doesn't give you 60 FPS mode because the GPU is not recognized.

@lost coral bruh you know downloading APKs is against the Terms of Service, right? It could cause a lot of performance, account and malware issues for you. Trying to use APKs will result in download problems and may result in account data loss and inability to contact TGC support. I genially don't know if I should ask this here or not, but if I, say, get an iPad? And that I keep Sky on my Android? And that I log in the same account on both device??? Will the progress that I made on my Android be "updated" on said iPad? Will I be able to play on both alternatively?

Actually, is that even possible? What happen if I transfer my progress to that iPad? I don't really want to lose ALL my progress, if I make a mistake
Is there a message that pop off for that to warn you? I know that iOS --> Android exist but does it go both way? (I checked the Sky wiki on that; confusing as heck)

bc i feel that sky android port was some sort of a proof-of-concept that was not meant for playing

because {insert game name here} can produce similar or better graphics without heating up your phone to a melting point of tungsten

and without vulkan 1.0.3, vulkan compute level 0, android.hardware.opengles.aep, even on opengles 2.0 with only shaders as a way to control the resulting image

sky's cloud rendering is a perfect way to waste gpu computing power 👍
why not use less triangles
and don't change their coordinates almost every frame
why not just add a fixed texture + bump map, and roll it as it's done for grass?

i bet most of the load is the cpu pumping new vertex coordinates for every single animated cloud frame
just use 2d white tinting
games were doing this for literally years

The trace is extremely heavy - Sky generates about 20 megabytes of trace per second
Regular Android game generates only up to 3 megabytes of trace per second (except the loading time)
