Okay, I found out as to part of the reason why the game is crashing.

For some people, the reason why the game is crashing cause of an error,"unsupported renderable internal format" you can find it in the system log right after your game crashes.

Basically, it means that your device is missing a component that makes it possible to load the game. Or your device/the game fails to activate it.
Or, your device has it, its just not being set off properly, or Or the coding for the rendering doesn't work properly with your device .

So you don't bave a way to fix it, we'll need to wait for the next update/patch.

So if anyone is wondering why your game is continuously crashing in 0.10.5 (153939) , this could be the reason why

long story short, the game currently isnt compatible with your rendering thing on your phone

you need to wait for the next updat

FYI: Android 11 is most likely around the corner. Monthly security updates by Google come out on the first monday of each month. No Pixel devices got the update, which means most likely A11 is primed for release within the next week or so. I know ktjn wanted info on this, so letting her know.

This version has heen a bit more unstable, so lower frame rates, crashes, etc. Are going to happen, i think it has something to do with the rendering.

I mean, it's not unstable. That would mean everyone is affected. It's a new rendering call that breaks PowerVR phones. Essentially, PowerVR GPUs don't have all the libraries for Vulkan even-though they state they do. Please don't spread misinformation.

The game still runs just fine on my 3a without any hiccup. Then again, it uses an Adreno GPU, as I am sure all other Snapdragon SoC's run fine. Haven't heard of any Exynos chips having any new issues this patch either.

Odd, don't know then. Android 11 works for Jdoeman and I. Could be due to you having a non-pixel device and Google hasn't added Android 11 for other manufacturers in the CTS compatibility checks. Can you check under play store settings and make sure your Play Certification shows "Device is certified"

That's not how it works. Compatibility would be of a few things:

1. not certified device.
2. Failing safetynet.
3. Not on the list of compatible devices.
4. Google is being dumb and didn't update the supported version for your phone. (most likely scenario as you did say you just updated to Android 11)

Welp i think i lost my account completely. I screwed up, i linked my email to the new device, not realizing i didn't link my email to my old device first. No biggy I thought, I'll link my facebook instead to the old device and switch over accounts like that. Tried it and nothing happened... strange i thought. Then my game on the old device refused to load, so I had false assumption my account was safe, and uninstall and reinstalled. The facebook link account brings me back to the new account linked on the new device.

To clarify, TGC does take note of every bug report that comes in. We know this bcs it's been highlighted to the community on this server several times.

Just bcs an issue isn't featured in #known-issues doesnt mean TGC is ignoring it. It simply means not enough users have reported it with relevant info. At that, TGC would continue to monitor the situation instead of make sweeping statements that may be wrong or incomplete, but rest assured that they are aware.

So when you say 'what good is my word when im the only one reporting it' you knowly contribute to an enviroment where info is withheld. And when you do that, but expect TGC to address it asap, you do everyone a disservice.

Bottomline is, report it even if you're the only one experiencing it, then excercise patience, and hope TGC can reproduce your error so that they may develop a fix in time.

@loud laurel i was in beta previously before the most recent access wipe, and then i clicked the invite link earlier today to enter back in. If you were there when the invite links were still open, and you saw a box on the website saying 'you are a tester' then you can access beta again.

For some people, the reason why the game is crashing cause of an error,"unsupported renderable internal format" you can find it in the system log right after your game crashes.

Basically, it means that your device is missing a component that makes it possible to load the game. Or your device/the game fails to activate it.
Or, your device has it, its just not being set off properly, or Or the coding for the rendering doesn't work properly with your device .

So you don't bave a way to fix it, we'll need to wait for the next update/patch.

So if anyone is wondering why your game is continuously crashing in 0.10.5 (153939) , this could be the reason why

A lot of devices were crashing in beta when they were testing out boats. Seems there were no beta testers that had a PowerVR GPU as those are still crashing. They will get it fixed, just give them time. They fixed the other devices crashing for this update in a timely manner during beta. #beta-known-issues message

App notorious for taking precious process cycles are social media apps, like twitter, facebook, etc. You can temporarily disable them in settings - apps so they won't run while you are playing.

Some Android phones just lag due to OEM bloat also. Not much we can do to help there. Samsung, LG, Huawei and Oppo are notorious for having background OEM apps sucking a good chunk of your process cycles and RAM.

There is currently an issue with the rendering on devices that use PowerVR GPUs. Your device may have one of these graphics chips.

Using scrcpy to mirror Sky to my laptop and then playing with one finger mode using the mouse... It's amazing.

Tablets also have an A series and S series in Samsung. Samsung Galaxy Tab A's are 32-bit, therefore not compatible with Sky. Samsung Galaxy Tab S series tablets are 64-bit.

If you linked your Sky account to one of the available links then clearing the data will do nothing to your save. The only thing you'll need to do is re-accept the terms and conditions at the beginning and give permission for Sky to write files to your phone again.

Ok played today and android 11 and sky are not good friends for now. Keyboard not filling whole screen. Sometimes I get all my icons in the screen too and I can't do nothing in game like chat, or make selections in the touch menus (constellations, closet, etc). Before android 11, I would play plugged in and my battery always showed 100%, now after September 8th my battery shows 99% then goes to 98% and stays there and battery usage doesn't show sky or anything being used by it. I reported to Google maybe it's system wise... But oh wow never tought I was going to have so many stuff just by getting Android 11 😂 👀

Will factory resetting make any difference? (I want to avoid that) as it's just too much work to set everything up again.

I have lags too, Im guessing thats just because sky is a little unoptimized atm
How... The Samsung Galaxy S7 has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820... Which is a generation below the one in yours... The S7 does not lag at all anywhere ever. Unless it gets hot.

@karmic mesa yeah when it gets really hot it lags like a little bit. But otherwise i have no issues really. Im hoping they manage to optimise it so it doesnt overheat at one point

i use samsung m31 and other than some very minor lags, it doesnt really heat up when playing sky and i spend like maybe only 15 of battery life on 3 hours of game time.
it also has game booster which allows you to record gameplay so theres that not to mention its price is also pretty much cheaper compared to other higher end models

Nic, the Oppo Reno 3 uses a MediaTek chipset which is currently causing Sky to crash at startup. The only Android devices that seem to be doing fine are those with Exynos and Snapdragon

There is no fix at the moment. You wil have to wait until TGC rolls out a patch or hotfix. Please report your issue in #report-a-live-bug in the meantime. Devs need as much info as they can get about this issue

Choco, in that case I believe Google Play should have some sort of screen recorder plug-in. You can try that by launching screen record in-game.

Tap on the bottom right screen, and hit the icon that looks like a video cam

You can play on the old account!

All you need is to have had your Sky acc on IOS linked with gmail/fb/game center (take note of your recovery code too)

When you launch Sky on android, you may head to settings>account to log in with your old account.

That is a known issue if your phone has a PowerVR GPU
