I'm seeing at least 3 switch players reporting crashing but curious if any other android people (aside me of course) seem to be experiencing such an issue. for me it's largely been freezing over crashing, but it did crash once.

I've just started experiencing exactly that

Try clearing cache, data (save your sky id and make sure your account is linked) and restarting device. Sometimes it fixes things like these but sometimes it doesn't. Androids are notorious for having crashing issues, but hope this is isn't of those again where it affects a chunk of androids users

Yeah I remember the compensation being a couple candles and.. coloured trails😭 Some got a bit lucky and got a higher amount, some received it despite not have been affected, some didn't recieve it at all and after a couple days of it being 'fixed' the rest of players who still didn't receive anything were pretty much ignored

Androids are generally notorious for crashing issues but there have been major ones in the past were a large number of players were affected. There were quite a few of those lmao. So far it's only us 3 with the exact same thing and it seems to have started a couple hours ago, with time we'll see whether this is just something minor or not

there's an iOS user now reporting the crashing at homespace issue so does seem to be totally cross platform. hopefully they can address it quickly lol, especially if it turns out rather widespread

idk if you guys are presently on but if you or other affected android users see it -- are you crashing or freezing? this iOS person and the switch people say they were crashing but mine is freezing -- does it present differently on android or am I just being affected a bit differently?

Each OS has its own (and android has countless) its graphics driver, therefore they behave differently. For example my iOS Sky crashed a lot with previous patch, but doesn't crash with this one. Some cosmetics combinations crashed iOS users in past, but Androids were not affected (that one was patched). Therefore you can't make linear correlations. Devs are trying to patch bugs but with more than 16 million cosmetics combination it's a bit hard job. If Sky freeze or crash, that's Sky app issue. But if phone freeze or crash, that's device manufacturer (and their drivers they installed on device) issue. One thing is sure, if Sky crashes at login after cosmetics change, that's a game bug when cosmetics combination makes the app crash. In this case contact support through their website form so they can help to change your cosmetics so you can login. It's also a great help for them in identifying which cosmetics combination makes issues on what devices

Hey, hey, android with freeze issue. Uhh... I found this weird situation.
So, I play my moth account, logged in with Facebook, and you know, freeze issue doesn't happen! At all! I think it's fixed, so I switch into my main account, logged with Google to see what happen, but it's freeze immediately. From this point, can I assume that the trouble is our main account itself??
Perhaps anyone with freeze issue can experiment the way I described?

That's the only difference that comes to mind between my alt and main at home. If you're able to and need to cr/do dailies you can try to run into one of the realms while it's zooming in, I haven't crashed in any of the realms yet

I've tried reinstalling and clearing data, neither has helped. If you freeze shortly after zooming in onto the statue, you should be able to move while it's zooming in and run into one of the realms. Only realm I can't get into from home is eden because of the barrier which takes a couple seconds to open, and by the time it'll open it'll freeze

Yeah Samsungs recently have been experiencing a lot of crashes and bugs. Samsungs in general struggle when it comes to Sky just because of their android drivers and the support from the manufacturers are all in all pretty bad right now. Samsung isn't alone, same thing with Poco. You could try clearing Sky's cache and restart device to maybe temporarily fix it-ish, but there's no permanent fix

As a massive Samsung user I have to agree... In my circle we have used the A20, A50, S7, S20 FE 5G, Note20, S22U, and Tab S8. While the game was fine... It did crash a bit and ran into weird issues no one has heard of lol... Like the crashing when the lead's device doesn't load fast enough... My Tab S8 + hasn't had any issues other than the occasional crash. As far as drivers go tho... Probably more of a problem on the older models as my current ones have up to date drivers, at least so far...

I could finally login into my game account using my tablet, by creating a new user on the said device.
Samsung have this option on creating different user profiles to share your tablet with other family members. I created a new one using the same Google account that I've originally used on my admin profile, installed Sky and proceed to login. It worked.

Weirdly enough, on the admin profile I'm still unable to login: I tap on the ▶️ and nothing happens. (Which reminds me a similar bug that occurs while creating and trying to share a QR code: you tap the option to share and nothing happens)

A single report isn't enough for them to fix it, they need several (hundreds) to pin point the issue. Giving them more information wouldn't really fix it, and you've already given everything they need if you bug reported it through #report-a-live-bug . Less known bugs that don't affect a lot of players also likely very low in priority to fix, especially currently now that Sky is literally infested with bugs

If reinstalling will fix it then sure. You need to have your account linked to something, and then sign in through that. You should also save your Sky ID just incase. Sky id is used to recover the account if it's lost. If it's linked to nothing (local account is NOT linked) then you will lose access to the account, and will need to contact support with your sky id

Don't use sd card. It supports installation to internal memory only. Have at least 5-6 Gb free space on internal memory and make sure it will be installed there.

I noticed my storage space is very limited right now. Cleared cache on various apps, deleted unused apps, and ran a cleaner to search for anything else. Yet still 226gb are being used out of my 256gb internal storage.

Did some digging and found out the issue. 164gb is being consumed from Backup.

I backup everything to my Google Drive. It says I'm using 12gb of my 15gb storage. So why is 164gb being consumed by Backup? Recently searched up so many links and videos to find a way to clear Backup, but no clear answer so far to my question. This is making it difficult to keep up with Sky's update patches, so any help would be great right now.

It's not Sky related at all, but I try to help. Backup seems like backup from your android system and I believe you should be able to set it somewhere in restore or security settings of your phone. I guess you already tried to press the red clear storage button
I recommend to keep Googleing your phone model and add keywords: big backup 🔍
Maybe some forums will show solutions for this phone behavior

If your game quality is low try to check graphics settings in game and change from battery saver to normal mode.

On switch there's only one screen resolution variation this is why it has good graphics. Dropping android 8 would free up a lot of development resources though so we would have less bugs or more improvements. Of course that is only theory, TGC wants to keep compatibility

This is Google's fault at not fixing compatibility problem. If you don't have anything else after factory reset, reset again. Maybe tedious but this will ensure it will work.

The issue is your tablet doesn't have factory installed Google play store and with your device bug and Factory resets it lost its safetynet. To sum up: Sky was never meant to be compatible with your device because it has duct taped Google Play and it was question of luck that it worked before. (The net is full of tutorials how to install Google play store on it which means it doesn't pass Google security for several apps like Sky)

Also, doesn't matter if unnofficial versions work or not. They're against Sky's ToS meaning your sky account will be banned when tgc catches on that you're using an unnofficial version. They can also give you viruses and put your account at other risks such as losing progress, iaps etc. that TGC will NOT help you with because they don't support unnofficial versions

This is because of your connection. Wifi is just one element in the signal chain. Maybe the service by your internet provider is not stable into the router regardless wifi signal is good

Try to measure your connection on speedtest.net ⏱️
For online gaming like Sky the rule of thumb is 30/30 without high jitters: download speed above 30 megabytes/sec and ping speed faster (smaller) than 30 milliseconds are recommended (measured without proxy or VPN)
If everything is fine it can be the server instability they are working on as per #known-issues

Em-or are unnofficial versions of sky, not optimised for PC and can result in a ton of problems that are out of TGCs control. Em-or can also be unsafe (nox, for example, very easy to get virus from it) It opens up to easier hacking. Em-or opens the topic of a-ks which are even a bigger safety issue than em-or. And again they're not optimised for PC, there's going to be a lot of problems. People losing their accounts, iaps, etc. And TGC will get flooded with em-or related support tickets that they can't do anything about.

And lastly, yes we aren't devs. Just explaining why TGC isn't against it

Actually, PrimeOS isn't an emu, it was a X86 Android AOSP and modified with custom UI that fits as Desktop Interface.

It runs x86 codes but won't run ARM codes.

So when actually playing Sky on that OS, it will just crash or never be installed.
