It's not really being mean. I don't agree with TGC at all but they've struggled with android 8 specifically for a long time now, this is due to android 8 just getting old and sky upgrading to a point where android 8 just can't handle running it anymore unfortunately. It's unfortunate and TGC likes surprises, so there's a good chance they'll stop support for Android 8 despite saying they had no plans to in the past. But still wait for an official announcement. As far as we know they're working on it..? They've acknowledged that android 8 will experience issues after the update so

There's another way which would require support and someone you know both in-game and outside of Sky, which I guess is reliable as well but contact support first and try it with the purchase receipts

Make sure to save your Sky ID when you get your account back, somewhere where you can access it without your phone incase something like that happens again and you lose your account unexpectedly

Gifted how? Using the in-game iap gifting feature or did they login into your account to buy it with their payment info? Or you used their payment info on your account? I'm going to assume another payment method was used on your account as iap gifting feature didn't come until mid flight, after LPP. If the person who gifted you it using their card info on your account and that same payment method was used on their own account, that's what caused it. Using same payment method on more than account will cause the accounts to essentially merge and iaps on both accounts will merge as well. This will cause iaps to only appear on one of the accounts, and they can go completely missing as well

Sadly TGC is unlikely to help as iaps switching accounts is out of their control

I think you need to clear cache or free up space like transfer some files into your computer or SD card. Also pls calm down, there's still hope to fix that bug and sometimes everything about Android 8 things are misleading so keep an eye on future updates.

All sky updates need at least 3gb of free space. Tho it doesn't download 3gb of content, it just that free space it needs, a Google play thing. It might think that 1gb leftover isn't enough to run sky. That can sometimes happens if you have a bit above 3gb, but 4gb should be fine.. By not update does it just not update or stops half way after tapping update? If so you can try clearing Google play's cache and data

This happened to me awhile back with another game i think i cleared my play store cache (in my phones setting then apps) and it fixed it (it was a recommendation when i tapped on "see common ways to fix this problem")

it happened to me when i tried update my android 8.1 phone from Sky 0.18.1 to 0.18.5 ( after serveral try, it finally got installed) . i used AppMgr and SDmaid to clear app cache (both have free version), uninstalled some unused apps, and deleted some images. you can try to clear Play Store cache and restart the phone.

Yall please don't download unnofficial Sky versions. TGC doesn't support them and if you encounter any major bug such as account loss or progress loss, TGC will be unable to help you. Not only that, it's against Sky's Terms of Service which you agree upon when you created your account. As frustrating as it is to be unable to play, you're better off waiting and not risking it. Save your account for when you'll get a new device in the future or when it comes out to play station if you have access to that. It's better to have an account that you can come back to in the future than not have an account at all, because getting banned is also a possibility

They do have a choice, which is to not download them. I completely get it but once you lose your account through it, it's pretty much over. You're better off waiting and have a chance at playing it again in the future, rather than permanently losing your account and never play again unless you want to start over. it works tbh. mine, playing on android 12, 8 & 8.1. i read dc bugreport first so i learn that 8.1 & 8 may got crash after update so i make a bkup of my own install before update. my 8.1 got crash after update. so i used the bukup to restore back to 0.18.1. the game can run. it doesn't force me to update to play for now. i see no point to stop players who just want to play normally like the iOS players if they exactly know what they are doing, can take risk on their own, and wont bother tgc cs if they encounter any issue from doing so.

Outdated and not recommended for Sky. It's the 3a and it has some difficulties with the game. (not consistent 30 fps, some frame drops, etc) I would suggest a newer model, especially since this one is 3 yrs old and only good for light use. (last official update from Google is May 2022, and it will be the last update unless there's some major security update in the future.)

I do admit, brand new, it got me through 3 years and is a trooper, but it's rocking a mid tier chipset and it's sub par performance against other phones in it's price range. The only plus side it has to buy now: it has a headphone jack.

I'd suggest staying away from Samsung devices when it comes to gaming. They absolutely suck at gaming performance. They would give almost half of performance of any phone with the same specs. But on daily usage side, they are soo good. The UI is fluid, Multitasking is the best i've seen. Music quality is better than iOS' in my opinion. But for gaming... You should look for other brands with close specs and price.

That's not fair.. Samsung top end phones are great for gaming and have the best Android perfomance unless we compare to dedicated gaming phones with peltier cooling. I too would suggest looking into Chinese phone brands if the budget was under $500 for a new phone but generalising the whole brand doesn't feel right. As for the S10, it is going to be a good device for sky and it'll be a bargain if they get it for a good deal

Exynos is a slightly different story tho

My favourite Flagship would be the Mi 12 Pro, but there's a reason why all new flagships are compared to Samsung's flagship 😄

They don't only lock Exynos devices, Snapdragon aswell! They're making cooling worse so it could throttle quickly. Samsung devices won't run at their max rated speed. If you disable GOS somehow, then the phone runs like hell on both variants.

Yeah like Xiaomi 😀 MIUI is so much load on the device and unoptimised ui for mid rangers and lower ends but Xiaomi keeps adding more things. UI performance wise, Oppo and Huawei is pretty close to Samsung actually. I currently use Huawei P30 and it runs flawlessly. Multitasking is pretty close to the Samsung aswell
But i have an issue ahould be noted that if i play games on normal mode my phone will throttle immidietly. I have to open performance or gaming mode to use its max performance.

Well... You probably know that Sky isn't hard to run it just locks your fps based on which phone you have. Even my old Redmi Note 8 ran at 40fps with Oneplus 8 Pro fake model. Note 10+ is almost identical to my phone and two of my friends use one. And yet one of my friend uses S20 and we're 100% sure that they have absolutely trash performance on heavy titles. The S20 so frequently stutters and gets down to 40s no matter what setting you choose on genshin. On my phone, its so much stable and gives me solid 60fps at max settings. Keep in mind that the S20 is stronger than mine.

Tbh even if we try giving feedback to them I felt it's been ignore especially if it's for general purposes. Now because of their lack of communication tons of issues came out. The disappearing shells on higher version of android and I do see some switch too. When it comes to android 8 kinda ok they mentioned the issue when 0.18.5 came on but I have to be honest they kinda didn't explain how severe that crashing would be. In my interpretation I thought it would look like drop of frame rate and crashing all the time. I kinda hated too they have to sugar coated things to the point it's confusing. I may be wrong in some points here but this is all the things in mind so far.

Well nothing change since the begining of sky theres a tons of issue on IOS days without the android, well true about this we been waste too much seasonal now we cant complete the season we used money to buy a pass yet waste next time i dont buy a pass anymore if this thing continues crashing issue or alother things.

I have the problem where I can't update sky because it keep want to delete space again even though I already clean it and have 3gb space left. I also can't update in Playstore but only update in HotGames(Vivo), right now my Sky update been stay 'installing' for 3 days in HotGames

Sky was originally made for ios. Most if not all ios' are manufactured the same. Whereas for Androids there's a thousand different brands and types and all are manufactured differently. So it's hard to optimize Sky for every single android and catch all the bugs. And for obvious reasons it's unrealistic for TGC to have every single android type on hand and test Sky on all of them. TGC in general seems to have a hard time with coding though, so that could play a part in it as well (not saying that's 100% the case tho, just a guess)

It also doesn't help when Manufacturers of the phones are also at the mercy of the chip makers for driver updates. For example, the 300 and 400 series Adreno GPUs (made by Qualcomm) hasn't had proper driver updates for Vulkan in their device tree. (You can check the Code Aurora Forum source code, aka CAF and see for yourself. CAF has been picking up Qualcomm's and other chip makers' slack for awhile)

How much space do you have exactly? Sky needs at least 3gb free to update. If you have 4 or 5gb free, I would try clearing more storage. Some people come in with 4gb free, and that should be enough but it isn't for some reason, and clearing more storage would usually help

my cellphone continues to work well despite having it in years and I would not change or buy another new mobile by a online game unless it breaks accidentally by itself and need to buy it urgently, if in this case Devs no longer fix it because android 8 cant support anymore then I will no longer play sky, it will be like one more another videogame that will remain in my memory in which it will have been worth enjoying a lot and will always be remembered from the depths of my heart the good moments lived and for incredible people that I have met in that game since my beginnings and I do not say this to exaggerate, but by law of life, because things change with the passage of time

Sadly no one will know until the fix for it comes TGC has had issues with android 8 for a long time and it seems to get worse with every time it happens. Android 8 is unfortunately getting old. TGC is not that great at communicating and they could've said something about it a long time ago but they haven't. For all we know the support for it could be dropped mid way this season. (Not saying it will be but I wouldn't surprised) The only information we have so far is the unnofficial statements from support that it's being worked on

if ones know what they are doing, willing take the risk on their own, and won't bother tgc or google support for the issues from doing so, ones can try to find a way to downgrade the game back to or to install the old version 0.18.1 to play. thank tgc for the game still doesnt force to update to play for now, so the older version 0.18.1 can still play. you can still cr for season candles and normal candles at least. the others down sides are: old version cannot see the current days of __ event, and if your closed friends ingame updated the game or dont want to wait, you won't able to play together.

got seperated or unable to being with old good friends is painful. i think i believe tgc are working hard and trying their best to try to fix the issue so they have not make a public announcement to say android 8 & 8.1 wont be able to play Sky from version 0.18.5.

but nothing can stop me from being salty to see ios issue fix releasing but still no android 8 fix related news until tgc say something in public about android 8 finally.
