HELP
tgc when
petition to have a spiderman themed season
PLEASE NO
Sonic season set in Valley, we already got medalist hair, navy cape and assembly loops
the next tgc collab
finally, we get to see the blue side of valley
This isn't beta chat.
I feel like I'm wrong
I feel.like I interpreted incorrectly
PLEASE HELP
humanoid spirit Sonic as season guide
sonics spiritsona
It's sonic during the season but it becomes a sky hedgehog at the end to avoid copyright
TGC Sonic themed season when
or it becomes 🅱️ooly ma🅱️ta
nah they can just
tweak the color little prince style
I think the only reason TGC chose tlp is because it fit the aesthetic the most.
Oh ! Fun fact, it was one of the works that inspired Jenova Chen I think
i was so shocked by that information that i acceidentally closed discord
no wait i thought you said Sonic inspiried Sky udsjkbdkfn
I feel like TGC is more likely to collabs with studio ghibli
He reread and rewatched coming of age stories, including a ghibli movie and that book, so...
it is! lemme grab the quote!
"at this time i also revisited some coming-of-age classics, re-watching wizard of oz, stand by me, even some of the, the more kind of more recent coming-of-age stories; spirited away, and re-reading the little prince that was one of the things that inspired us"
https://youtu.be/wQP9spsb_IQ (quote starts at 13:10)
theres another collab on the horizon as confirmed by the Q&A done a bit ago, personally eyeing a Wizard of Oz season….
meanwhile in an alternate universe...
Inb4 another 4 spirit season on that one
/lh
Wizard of Oz, yes, but also Luca? That could potentially work as a collab.
(sorry I'm just in love with it.)
Why does it look like the poor moth got ran over?
WHEEZES
Studio Ghibli movies actually inspired some parts I think
I remember one of the devs saying that the vault room with all the cubes was based on castle in the sky
LMAO

FIRE PROPHET YOUR DRIVING IS THE WOOOOOOORST
What, huh, im not being suspicious you are, leave me alone I don't even know how to drive. What I definitely don't know how portals work are you kidding cause I think you are
I s a i d s t o p
*sig- cough cough cough
SIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH
I'm gonna go listen to music or something.
add fire prophet to the list of prophets that aren’t allowed to drive
WHO ELSE IS IN THE LIST-
King
Earth
earth has no license, prophecy guide drives them around (this is from ts hints)
and Dawn, even if he is a ferryman
Teth could drive but only those giant trucks
WICHC ONE
OUCHHHHHHGHSGHHGSDGN
What's the sky equivalent of not being legally allowed to drive
boating license
grounded
Driving a boat,
Somehow Spongebob SquarePants logic is still in the game, but at least that idea is more tolerable than fire underwater.
Prophet
Can't
Drive
Oh and interesting how Ash called it "season elder"
whats so special about the questgivers that they act as elders?
I have dubbed Prophecy guide "the Caregiver" in part because they may look after the Cave of Prophecy and in part I think they were the prophet's PR guy or even looked after them. chaperoneing would fall under that
my guess? just as the elders guide the realm spirits, the season guides guide the spirits in their season
Oh I always thought they were younger than the prophets
Fire prophet taking a driving test.
Topples a whole building
"I dont think you can overlook that, right?"
Losing a paddle would be equivalent to losing a car wheel.
Maybe it’s just the fact that they aren’t in the season’s constellations just like how the elders aren’t in the realm constellations
prophecy guide is the only one who still has eyesight good enough to be behind the wheel
This is only one of the many dirty secrets the prophets keep from the public
Can't let them know we're just some normal ancestors who have really weird dreams
They still could be. You don’t have to be older than someone to look after them.
I’ve always seen the guides as the one in the group who keeps them together.
ohh yea
Even if they aren’t the leader or captain of the group, their presence in the group ties everyone together in some way. Maybe they’re the emotional center. Maybe they have good advice or are skilled.
maybe they even brought the group together
The Abyss guide is an exception. They're OUR guide, not the spirits' guide. We call them "guide" for a very different reason.
The thing about Abyss guide is that I cannot gauge their role in the crew. They are present in every spirit memory, which is interesting cos that hasn’t been true for any other guide.
Someone thought they might be a cartographer and that’s all I’m rolling with
An elder can be considered to be a leader if a grouo.
While the Elder can lead a whole realm, the season 'elders' can lead their group. No matter if it is their family, friends, neighbors or acquaintances.
It does not matter what their age, gender, position in the realm or size. But the strength of their leadership.
Yeah, that's what some think, because of the scrolls they hold
Now they're a recruiter too
recruiting naive little children ;333
edit: whoah that's kinda jarring i always associated ❤️ with Jam but Jam isn't in the convo so-
wasn’t sanctuary guide in each memory?
consider
they had a license but it got revoked
Cartographer/navigation is what I think we have the most evidence for
Oh you’re right, I completely forgot Sanctuary was a thing
Me @ abyss guide: I literally have no idea who you are.
Writer brain: got that covered
The same can be said with Skatergirl, Little Prince, Prophet (technically, but can be excused), assembly and Abyss.
The rest (prophecy possibly included) only feature the guide with the spirits in cutscenes and not memories.
I think abyss guide is some stray child the crew picked up somewhere
Except neither the Little Prince nor skater girl were seasonal guides
Ah, true.
They are related/ connected to the guides.
The Little Prince with his Rose .
The skatergirl and their mom.
I havent been able to upload pictures in any other chat on this server (sorry im new to discord ) but has anybody else noticed this or has it been there and i just never saw this...
The clock or the amorphous lump of darkness next to it?
The clock thingy
Oh! It's a clock for when a rainbow will appear in the area! :D
How does it work?
There is a skull???
can you show me a pic please
It is a clock.
It was supposed to tell when the rainbow starts.
It may never work as intended but stays in the game as a relic of the past (Light Awaits).
There is another one in the Village in Daylight Prairie
Thank you!
The inner stone turns and the dots would align like a timer ⏲
Why is all the hair white???. Its like disneys atlantis. All the atlantians hair is white young or old. I mean I know is could just be a design thing, yet I still feel as though there is more to that than it just being an astetic. I mean why white, why not black? There has to be a greater reason why. But as I said I could just be looking too deeply into this.
hair made of light
So, the light is yellow, yet our hair is white
light is white
I dont get it, in the game the light we all fly towards is yellow. Our calls emitt and yellow wave of light, light creatures all have yellow on them, especially the butterflies. If thay wss the case wouldnt our hair be yellow??
light creatures are mostly white tho. look idk it was prob an aesthetic choice. also light of all colors looks white
Okay, i guess it was just an aesthetic. I mean you previous comment confused me because the light creaturs in vault are mostly dark with touches of white but a very noticeable yellow. Either way thank you so so much for trying to answer my question. I appreciate it.😊
There's a subreddit called r/advicefortheprince
no you can't give advice to good ol' alef there
I can’t find the exact image in my miserable little pile of screenshots but isn’t there also a clock in the boneyard on the side of the stone thingie that leads up to the temple?
Light can be several things.
White light is pure and innocent.
Yellow light is the prosperity.
Orange light is the warmth it brings.
Red is an exception as it is a twisted, or corruoted' version of light.
While it still stand for passion, it can aslo reoresent rage and chaos.
yes. it is has been removed in a recent update

Thinking about Rhythm troupe headcanons
Hello
Does anyone know what the elder bird is?

What is an edler bird
Where does it fit in the lore?
Here's an image I found on google.
Forgot to add the image. Its too late for me.

This one☝️
Interesting
according to the information I gathered while lurking in this channel the megabird is basically the god of Sky
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong
God?
Elder bird showed in the Season of Rhythm final cutscene and was hinted at in Light Whisperer’s character card but didn’t make it in game. That’s it
You're correct
But you've got the wrong bird
Elder bird is the bird the rhythm group rode on. It was teased in the light whisperer's bio photo THEN WE FOUND OUT IT WAS A SCAM
oh thanks for clarifying that for my dumb moth brain
No problem
Oh, the wish for infinite candles
The elder bird is a great light creature (possibly on a similar level as a great manta is in the manta chain of evolution).
It was last seen in the game during the final cutscene in Season of Rhythm .
It was teased/hinted that it would appear in Seasoon of Flight.
But it never came to be.
Despite being a season based around Flight, burds and spirits.
The elder bird was never added.
Ah, a wurtle skeleton.
A light creature that is theorised to be a hybrid of a turtle (minus the shell) and a whale, according to comments from staff (I cannot recall who said it and and when).
What has been so far established is the creature is either extinct or us skykids have not seen a living version of this creature.
Megabird is the divine deity of the game.
Bringer or light and Life.
Headcanoned to be similar to mother nature, or a characterisation of the Milkyway galaxy.
Or god.
There's a person in Skycord whose PFP is a
with robot legs and robot arms
fsfsdaghghsgndgdsghn
they must know how to party
and it looks almost nothing like one
It looks like something that you would fight at the end of a JRPG
The only 2 reasons we're not fighting it is because
- The nature of the game
- Why would you kill something that helped you?
Yup.
I just say Deity to keep things general.
Especially considering the debate of what qualifies as a God.
While this topic can be ignored (really, I dont want to see people fighting over godhood here), I'll just light gloss over it as food for thought.
A god would be an entity that created the world, or was part of its creation process.
A god can range from a demigod to, well, God.
A god can be a divine being no matter what kind of god they may be or what they would be a god of.
Ergo, one can use the divine celestial angle to say it is like a god.
Although the game is open to interpretation, after all.
Fair enough
though so far I haven't seen anyone who believes that Megabird created the WORLD of Sky
That I feel would be impossible.
If I were to conclude something out of all your discussions, the Megabird deals with all things regarding light.
Stuff like dust and sediments wouldn't concern it.
Not necessarily true. A 'god' can have many abilities, even if we Puny HumansTM try to shoe horn it into a single element
We don't really have evidence for Megabird making the world though. Whether in concept or in-game
But Megabird being a god at all can hold implications that it created the world. But implications are fickle things
true, the name mostly stemmed from concept art and it pretty much stuck ever since.
I'm not sure how to describe it
Uhhh
A really big fancy cape?
Is it hair?
violin bow string
You are right.
I have trouble finding evidence for that myself.
All that I can gather is the world is OLD, as in Beyond Ancient, beyond what probably all of the ancestors and dare I say, the Elders would ever know.
I am not even sure if the Devs themselves would be willing to answer that. Either because they dont know themselves or would rather leave it to the skykids to ponder about.
The lore chat is deep, but not nearly deep enough as it seems to answer that.
There just isn't enough food
Yeah, maybe that question wasn't accounted for...
Or, you know, NDAs.
that would make you either a saint, blessed or a demigod. Take your pick or feel free to correct me on my limited knowledge of gods.
Pretty sure the default Christian God is considered omnipotent. but is megabird
Lights.
Just a Whole bunch of Lights.
spaghetti of light
Like, is Megabird Omnipotent or just 'really stronk'
Leaning towards the latter tbh
just a gut feeling though
Right now, its presence is only noticed in the chimes of the bells, the light from the sun, the flames in a candle.
If you were to count skykids as an indicator of Megabird's presence/influence, then the darn Megabird is EVERYWHERE.
Anywhere the light touches as something in Africa said.
ah shush! XD
Something?
"Anywhere the light touches" -Some rock in Africa
WHY THE SHUSH
Ah
Well that's fair
Raider lore
DIDNT KNOW THAT
I feel like the Megabird is definitely and omnipresent sort of deity. It’s presence is universal and it exists in everything in the Sky universe.
HC that Megabird is all-seeing, but not all-powerful
they're certainly powerful enough to create different types of life. How powerful does that make a god thingy
It could be reliant on continued worship as a sort of relationship it had with the Ancestors
Headcanon, Jenova Chen is the King in human form.
||(hope this does not get be bashed)||
(for a Sky AU)
"You were born perfect. Perfect for your mission. Are you willing to sacrifice your perfection... for this?"
-Megabird
Theory: Sky has two endings: Help mega bird or help king overthrow mega bird for being nutty enough to send kids into eden
I have a headcanon that essentially goes "Skykids CAN make a civilization with the spirits, but they have to overthrow Megabird first"
id help the king, obviously 😌
I have more 'proof' for my 'spirits are in the rebirth cycle' theory but it's currently Forbodden
Megabird reminds me of those chars that love perfection
wdym? I think we’re all pretty set on the idea that, at least for now, the skykids and perhaps the spirits are experiencing a cycle of rebirth
well
that's definitely one of Their traits in the AU
I thought everyone agreed on 'The spirits are stuck in place to be constantly relived, but that's literally all they can do'
If the game ever implements a new mechanic, it would interesting if there were to be corrupted/fractured skykids.
Skykids that lost their light and have become a child of darkness.
It could be a short quest series players can go through instead of 1 quest to complete in between weeks to stretch out the season content (which is not a bad thing, but does bog down the excitement of the season after a while).
Perhaps a quest that is optional and moth can opt to not do it at all until they are ready.
The change the skykid undergoes could be noticeable and even explore the concept of how corruption works and if it can be cured.
...until we ascend them, that is
We don't yet know what a reborn ancestor looks like, if it's even possible to tell
Can they be reborn as a manta? do their memories get wiped after rebirth?
Our sky kids get reborn exactly the same. Why can't it be the same for ancestors?
Well, that's why we don't know. Because they kiiiiiiiiinda destroyed the world?
oh, there are theories that say otherwise.
The spirits may have been stuck in that loop up until the skykids find them. Thereafter the spirits do seem to be aware of their surroundings and seemingly willing to stay and help the skykids instead of passing on.
getting reborn as manta with your previous memories is kinda sad
Especially since they have a somewhat similar anatomy
oh, I don’t personally believe that myself. I think that parts of them, like echos, are able to be experienced throughout the world. we see some memories from spirits that very obviously depict their final moments (Light Miner, Fainting Soldier) which makes their spirits more traditionally like ghosts, but others don’t show anything like that at all. Whatever happened with Eden I think shattered the cycle of rebirth that was once sacred to the Light/Megabird, and the entire thing was screwed. maybe some spirits are stuck and only able to be relived over and over, but others are more free to move about
this also. I do believe that before the Skykids arrived, everything was a lot more boring on the spirits end
I personally thing they're all free to move about. Possibly our kid has to help them first, but otherwise the whole 'relive memory' mechanic is just player convenience
A compilation of Megabird thoughts by our beloved Jam
"here's the summary of both of our religions pFIRE
"this sounded wholesome at first, but now im projecting myself into one of the ancestors, and realizing
this is as if God only lets us be born so he can see the knowledge and experience being human would give
kinda grim
truly like a puppet
okay people, we've got two religions to choose from in Sky
fruity, which one would you want to believe?
which one would be the better of two kinda somber realities
returning to the perfect and controlled dance of Light forever and never deviating from that again after you and the others made your mistake
being a puppet for some distant god who will use you as some sort of inlet, having your knowledge and life experiences be taken from you to be viewed like tv shows, when you die
they both suck ngl"
found it: #lore-discussion-spoilers message
basically: "you die, ascend, and become one with god""
.
(part 1)
A compilation of Megabird/religion thoughts by our beloved Jam (part 2)
and the addendum to me thinking that the sky being "too perfect" to live in
"well im wording it awfully
when you think about it, it's purely subjective yet likely subjectively ill just because "forever" just sounds so.... caged
it sounds like the loss of morals, of importance, of meaning
everything could be contained within forever, but nothing could fill it
so to talk about a dance of energy and mass that remains the same, forever, seems awful, to us as finite beings, because it'd supposedly, eventually, feel so empty
but it's something only someone who learns to be a part of that forever, could understand
someone who has already transcended death
someone who is tired, and wants to rest, and be in the arms of the Others
that's why i think, from our human perspective, my take on the Light is so grueling, but from the perspective of beings who went through war and pain and suffering and complex emotion when they were supposed to be drops of Light in an endless sea, i think
i think they'd want to rest"
"Blue and Orange Morality is a general term for a type of morality/moral system that is so alien to humans that we can't peg the user of that morality as "good" or "evil"."
--Fruity
lol the last one,
Reject Sky, return to Megabird
woah...
There are some irl ideas about rebirth that you're constantly reborn until you're 'perfect' or 'learn certain lessons', tbh, could be the same for spirits. They constantly go thru the cycle, and eventually get 'old' and return to mega bird properly. The rebirth cycle isn't actually their 'death'
I feel like they were sort of “stuck” before the skykids arrived, but being ascended helps them become “unstuck,” with some capability to interact with the world again even if it is in a different way. My overall long term theory is that eventually one day we will have an ending to the game that includes a more final conclusion that includes reversing whatever was done to Eden, and it’s then when the spirits will be able to finally ascend for real. but for now the cycle is continuing in this way, because the skykids arent yet able to break it
wow
Are skykids meant to solve the riddle of Eden? Because from previous discussions it seems pretty clear that Sky kids are here for something else.
The only purpose we were told is in the intro
"Go forth, child. Return our spirits to the stars"
We don't know if we have any purposes that we weren't told.
wait what, did they change the intro? I don’t remember it saying that
They changed it in 2021.
I wonder if sky kids count as 'spirits' for that. Because we go to eden to free each other
Those are known as "the fallen"
And the sad part? In Light Awaits, those statues used to be labeled. With your friends' names.
was it like an impactful change that’s totally different or is it jus a slight difference
I think I finally found a definite answer to which side is blue and red in Valley of Triumph.
There is concept art that showed 2 racers. Looking at them from the gate, you will see blue is on the left, and red is on the right.
In the game, the darn starting gates had the colours mixed up! While the gates in the Valley of Triumph are right, and there were no other indicators to which side is which colour (that I know of), the evidence was pretty much tied.
If the flag colours in Light Awaits' gates were the right way around, I am going to report that as a bug. Because that was frustrating to verify for the lore.
Update: the darn starting gate has the colours switched
Blue right, red left.
Why!!?
Oh, you can still see your friends names on the fallen. In orbit, as the little light kids holding hands on the way
But that's a lot more interpretative. It could be other groups of skykids who also took up the Eden journey.
So the intro wording changing means nothing, it's still the same actual story
Then I have an idea
Let's take all the intros and present them together
Then we can try to find common ground between them and note their differences
That's assuming you aren't also a fallen. I know I personally like 'you save yourself with help from the eden elder/king' but it could be someone gave us a winged light
They’re here to, assumedly, “awaken the spirits” and “return them to the stars,” and that’s so far what they’ve been doing, but I posit that they can’t yet complete the final part. There’s still spirits to awaken and still corruption from darkness
Yeah, it's possible there are spirits in eden, but sky kids just can't get to them. Any within the statue zone have already been saved
There's that, and that the time is instant for us, but it could take a lot longer in Eden. I even wrote a template about it.
Template story of 5 skykids and Eden.
A: It's been 6 days since we got reborn. Poor E, they sacrificed themselves for all of us...
B: 6 days? That means that no one has found their statue and given winged light to them, huh?
C: Someone's gotta save them soon, or else their statue will crumble to dust on the 7th day, and we'll have no way to reach them!
A: We can't just all come! That would just be a horrible cycle!
B: Alright, so... who has the most winged light out of all of us?
D: Oh...
C: Good luck, D.
*group hug
Ok but the intro I remember was that u supposed to bring the elders home, and they were considered to be “fallen stars”
Yea helping spirits pass on is another goal but it seemed like the main goal was helping the 6 elders
and if there is supposed to be an eden elder... Even tho somebody said the eden elder isn't there to be saved, do our kids know that? They're possibly looking for something that isn't there
The old intro says "Bring our lost stars home." as the last line, or something like that. but it was unclear WHO those stars were.
With the prophecy mural I think the idea of the eden elder was revealed to them “in-universe”
It's possible that the lost stars they're referring to could be the spirits and/or the statues in the point of no return
yeah, that was a mess.
I’m pretty sure that statement was meant as the king being so corrupt he’s not even saveable anymore like the others
I mean I shouldn’t be comparing concepts to the current lore but he was the main reason for the sky kingdom to collapse
they probably dont know that the eden elder isnt around to be saved
they probably don't know eden elder IS around ||this is assuming loreseekers aren't real||
Just imagining a bunch of sky kids like that meme of the crazy dude with all the string and papers and pins like 'WHERE IS THE EDEN ELDER'
hmm yea
I forgot the exact wording but I do know that u can’t save the king like the other elders
some theorize he's the kids or the winged lights tho. Which means ye, he's not in eden proper
If “Not around to be saved” was the exact wording that’s basically saying he ded and never coming back or ascending
Not around in eden tho
or hes somewhere else we cant go to
I mean why would u wanna save this guy
i can fix him
Watch us, we have tiny candles and flight of the valkeries
quick question wheres that mural that shows the king-like fella holding a ball lookin ready to take a chomp
he looks cool and we need that mask, thats why
because im pretty sure one of us is a stan
If Sky gave us weapons, I'd love for this guy to be the final boss in Eden
we have a fireworks staff to swing. Also maybe blow their eardrums out with the big heck off horn from the wasteland the horn is surprisingly fun to play
All elder cutscene, the final mural.
yes
I think the ball was jus a representation of him consuming power
….or fruit 🍊
head canon, it could be the eye of the megabird, or their core.
the most divine of roasted poultries
I have the horn and yes, it is surprisingly fun to play
THERES MY GUY.
I just wanted to say that the reveal of that mural is the most unsettling part of Sky. There’s like a weird thunder rumble sound and the music does this really slight pitch. It’s so unlike any other mural seen in the game up until then and I remember the first time I saw it I got literal chills. I love it. Also, just noticed that it shows the figure literally encased inside the mountaintop, that’s neat
Daily reminder why we still talk about the king and that he’s not jus some scrapped concept
Take note, the elder in that mural has no constellation.
All of the other murals have some constellation in their bodies.
king :D
with almost no weaponry and light that somehow goes out the moment you chuck a 5 mm diameter pebble at them
Maybe because the king is a sky kid and not an elder?
@gilded socket to be fair, those pebbles are light sucking hell rocks
we gonna throw candles at him jus to get his mask?
Yeaaaah, it’s off putting. Even knowing nothing at all about the king or any theories yet, before I even joined the discord, the way that mural looked just instantly gave me the vibe of something being horribly wrong. It was great
perhaps they are on a higher lever, possibly on the same level as the Megabird?
There's that theory that King is a prototype skykid
what, like he pulled a Pale King on us?
Some folks theorize that the King was actually the first skykid-like figure you see in one of the memories of an Isle spirit. Pointing Stargazer I think? Then the story goes that the skykid was taken to the elders, then the prophecy cave, and then went through the trials
he might not be on a higher level than the Megabird canonically, but he is in our hearts
Yeah, I was talking about the star gazer theory
The most we can get about the king is from the concepts and those are complicated
Bc in some concepts, that person right there is considered the prince and he grew to be the king and in some other concepts, it says they are 2 separate ppl and we don’t kno which is true anymore
my poor dude’s arm is janked up that looks owie
brittle bones
no wonder we skykids don't have any
dabbed too hard, eden explodes
LOL
stickman anatomy.
Oh and in the concepts the prince looked almost exactly like a sky kid so u could be right
I do believe that the light child we see before Orbit is the king/prince, or at least a fragment of them
yeah, this is my favorite take
PSA: The Child in the Void will ALWAYS be the same height as you.
most likely
But then again it is confusing bc the king was always depicted as an evil person who made terrible choices
Why is there still light in him
gotta keep the scene looking good somehow. I engulf my chibi friends when we hug. They hug my knees. My arms hug air
Because of hope /j
Nah it might be an atonement thing
correct.
I tested this with spells, when my skykid changed height, the light kid does as aswell.
This also implies it's not a winged light from another sky kid tho
But then, if you're just saving yourself, it's with light you literally do not have.
Bc of that one concept I saw I jus call him the original skykid
And everyone else is jus based on his design
like yeah, tbh I'm fairly confident king was Sky Kid lite
There's also that theory that we skykids are fragments of the King
King is Zeus theory is best theory
If we're the king/his kids by proxy of being his fragments, does that make us royalty?
giant battle royale amongst skykids to determine who becomes king?
don’t think rank matters anymore when the whole kingdom is dead
skykids are hybrids of light and darkness.
Would it be possible that the skykid instead become two halves of thier former self?
With that being the case, they can simply find their light half, reunite (Steven Universe style) and then ascend just fine?
Even though the game does not show this, it is implied that skykids do this even if their friends have not yet gotten to that step yet.
If so, I suppose that step is hidden from the skykid during those moments as it would be distracting to the player, and confusing to a first timer. That and spoil what happens next, making the dire theme the skykid was having up to that point redundant if they knew the skykid would survive.
Ah yes, the "The Void is like that scene of Pink Steven and Flesh Steven" theory
There is also the myth of Sisyphus.
A man that tried to cheat death and punished to be bound to a rock on a mountain, and be tormented by flying beasts every day for the rest of time.
But if we're King's fragments, multiply that punishment by a million
more pain
where the two halves reunite in a hug, yes
Why does that actually make sense and fit in with the game
even if we were the kings fragments, it’s not like we’re carrying on his will
It is greek, it is a myth, and the game tends to draw inspiration from mythologies.
There is also the childhood stories that can also be tied into the game (ex. Pinocchio, Peter Pan, Little Prince, Ghibli films etc.)
Peter Pan?
we are, in a way.
Us skykids are standing in what the the King was meant to do, help spirits ascend. While we cannot do it as well as the King did, we are helping by guiding the spirits to the temples, and then ascending alongside them to Orbit. All of that, just so we can be reborn and do it over, and over, and over, and over agian.
Until we mop up EVERY. SINGLE. SPIRIT. (presumably)
/hj
I mean the king kinda jus wanted power and was obsessed with dark stone
The idea of sky kids helping spirits pass on and helping the elders was after the destruction of everything. But then again, I’m getting these ideas from the old concepts of the king and it could be totally different in the current lore
A being that is like a child, never grows up, can fly. Leaves the human world for Neverland, a place in the sky that is by the second start to the right and then straight on till morning.
The folklore even has its origins that implies that Peter Pan is like an angel of death (if I am not mistaken). Where he would take children away to Neverland. Children who have died young.
I’ve read some creepy stuff about the original Peter Pan story so when u said that it was one of the inspirations for sky I kinda got worried
I am not saying it was an official inspiration of Sky. Apologies if I were to said it like that.
I mean that these are are stories that could be inspirations/influences to the game.
While I dont have the official statement, one can deduce these things based on facts within the game and connecting them to other genres.
The morbid curiosity of what our future is after we save the spirits, even though that probably means that Sky has to end for us to see it
Can someone explain to me the sky lore
what would you like to know?
It's vague as heck and most of the theories discussed here are technically not canon, even if lots of people agree and it makes a lot of sense
do you have any specific questions about sky lore? its too vague to explain everything
There's a lot of things we talk about here so if you want to ask about the lore it's best to ask about a specific topic such as a particular season, something unusual you've noticed that might be important, or a particular theme the game has
You can also check the docs in the pins!
Hoo boy no way are we gonna explain EVERYTHING without you falling asleep at some point
But here's a very abridged version of the main story
||The king screwed up
There's darkness abuse
The spirits can't ascend without our help
and now we're here to ascend them||
atleast you got those AC
I recommend you read the chat and have a look at the lore doc in the pinned comments.
Go at your own pace and remember, like Mune said. The game is open to interpretations, while is not complete canon lore. There is a lot of speculations and fanon.
turned to stone like how Ash did in the first pokemon movie when pikachu started crying
Don't worry! We haven't turned OUR Ash into stone... yet...
ok well what was the point of eden? or why were we adventuring there
the light said so
It's to "return the light of the fallen" which is the statues of other skykids who have tried going forward but failed, just like we will inevitably
As for WHY we're going to Eden, it's presumably important to getting to Orbit, but by some miracle, even if we keep on dying, we get to Orbit anyway
PRESUMABLY the intended way to go through Eden to Orbit is different, but we don't know it because we keep dying
ah thats makes
ah thats makes
poetic
the intended way is to eat the big diamond/j
a lot of sense
sanctuary island is actually a huge floating island that once purposely work as flight area. but it was unstable because of geysers
That is a possible theory.
The same can be suggested with the Treasure Reef.
haven't done much research, but seems the flight logo before the season came was a clue of it.
One possible reason for an island to fall is if it lost darkstones that would be imbedded in it.
Darkstone can make things float, so all floating islands would in theory have some darkstone in it.
Maybe these floating islands just have the darkstone very well-hidden
Or...
There's actually large amounts of darkstone INSIDE the islands, that wasn't extracted for some reason
And that's how ancestors discovered the concept of using darkstone to make stuff float
so, the darkstones are getting mined by the ancestors?
it possibly happen in the big dark plant tree inside the island
i once thought its like a spiritual place that having spiral stairs, but i didn't see any broken stairs around there. also, the dirt aren't smooth. we can't slide on there
Inside them, yes.
As an ore or a cluster.
The question is how would they form, how/when would they float islands in the sky and if the mantas would be somehow involved?
The reason for mantas is how there are round holes in areas where mantas are present. These holes might be from the mantas, seeing they can break rocks (according to Flight's final season).
If mantas can burrow into the ground, that might also be a reason why the ancestors used mantas to mine and carry resources. As a wild theory, mantas to darkstone, could be like pigs are to truffles, they can hypothetically dig for them.
lol, what if the leviathan was fed darkstone and when it ate corrupted dark stone, it became corrupted as well? oof.
If the mantas can smell darkstone, what if they have this ability so that they can avoid it? I doubt it's very good for them...
*flashback to the blender days
darkstone is/was natural.
If mantas were able to eat darkstone, there can be other theories surrounding it.
Assuming the hypothesis is a valid theory, we can deduce that ancestors and elders would have observed the mantas growing stronger as they eat more dark stone. When the ancestors started refining the stuff, the elder creatures became more and more rare due to the dwindling resources. Perhaps when the ancestor learned that the dark stone is a limited resource, they might have experimented with ways to help the mantas, but not give up the darkstone.
When the mantas became corrupted in the process, things would have went downhill.
While a krill would be dangerous, a leviathan would be much worse.
If this theory is true, I dearly hope that a future season or update to the main game would elaborate on this.
Because, if this is true, that might be the change that even Light Awaits lore did not touch upon.
I am well aware that nowhere in the game, there is evidence of mantas consuming dark stone (at least that I know of). But there might be something that can be used to build a case, including what I rambled one earlier as a rough idea.
How deep does this lore go again?
season of darkness
I'm sure the bot would say not very
The sky bot's icon... is kind of scary actually. It looks like a robot sky kid and it's brilliant. But sky children should not be robots
Sky already had a robot takeover if you think about it
Spirit questgiver got replaced with a statue
Nice
Yeah, one day I hope to actually go inside that floating castle...
Hm you know, have we ever considered that maybe the King is in the castle? Like trapped in it or something? (Irony: his home became his prison)
I just...feel like I’d there was a “final” chapter to the game, it’d involve getting to that castle and finding him or something. Idk
I like to think the king is the Storm
slides in here I thought about the King once was like the spirits and ancestors but got corrupted and partially became the Storm as well
It was stated somewhere that the elder of eden wasn't there anymore. and I'm pretty sure everyone thinks the elder of eden is the king? It'd nuke that kind of theory in normal discussion
Where is that WL gone?
Why do gifs not work on this server
Yeah, I think I remember the devs saying something ambiguous about the king being gone from the game but not too gone somehow
❓so yeah, I expect his presence might not be what I think, but it’s a fun little theory anyways
Tho again I want to get inside the castle so bad
I was TRYING to use a funny gif for the last part lol, and it messed up
I also want into the castle. I want to say hello to the king. Assuming he isn't the bright child we meet at the very end of eden
That would be so weird as I usually think King would be more than twice the size of an ancestor and having him be the size of the bright child is going to mess me up
spam reasons
Assuming he wasn't just the sky equivalent to a child on stilts in a trench coat, it's possible he simply changed forms
I really just want to have a castle in the sky moment
Man, imagine if there was a beautiful garden up there
I 100% agree to this as well, the casual "King is somehow a ruler despite kid size"
This game lets us 'relive memories' as a game mechanic, where is our 'what eden used to be like' cutscene. Do it TGC
Yes YESSSS. DO IT

Vault Elder hook us up.
Holds TGC at candle point Please do it, it would be so cool
Time to put that in the suggestions server 🏃♀️
that would be so cool
you could put the idea in the #wishlist-and-ideas-archived chat
Maybe despite our assumptions, we find king is not swallowed in darkness but sitting peacefully, in child form, amongst a beautiful garden. He has been waiting for us.
K I added it in there
yes yesssssssssssssss
nice
Heart: Broken
Thoughts: Peace
Emotions: Calmed
Body: Loved
A place like this
we need a season where we spend it befriending a spirit like the young skater or little prince then boom. king.
Rip our hearts to pieces tcg
yes
Everybody else: Stuff about the King
Me: I just want to see him and spend time with him like I get to do with Little Prince
Oh man that’d be great
I think he probably would love it too—for so long he probably hasn’t had a chance to just be a kid
Spending time with Little Prince was amazing and I just want that with King too
in other words
"I wanna have a coffee and chat with the REAL Prince, not this... who are you
"
I had to get friends to escort me to him on two different occasions, and those specific instances hanging out with him was torture because my friends were waiting on me XD
Legit the first time I'd joined a friend on a candle run and said 'you wouldn't happen to know where this place is' and whoops accidentally ditched them for 5 minutes
For no reason at all, I always think of King as sort of a gentle giant especially if he went through all of what he been through presumably in the game, he became calm and gentle from what he was before
Was it missing for you too?
I thought it was that I already got them.
You know what.
I'll go to eden, come back and check that spot first.
If it is still missing, I will let you know, Tebkanlo.
no don't, it's still there it's just not reachable
You serious?
Did it go behind a wall?
Thanks for the heads up, will go to the wl and see where it went.
Also getting a screenshot for the bug report.
Awh! I understand the anxiety of friends waiting for you when your stuck somewhere in-game 😔
Apparently. You can get it but you technically have to glitch
Does TGC know about this glitch?
It's like a chibi fall or something. One of the common ones
Talking about it makes me nervous because I'm 90% sure the rules said something about 'no discussing glitches' (unless I misunderstood)
Awww! I love this idea. When in his kid form he gives the impression he is wise beyond his years
YES
Imagine he can switch between big and smol forms at will
You know, how the concept art shows his King form as kinda him standing in a mech lol
Like I said, a child on stilts inside a trenchcoat
YES
Wonder though if his big form is a deity-like power he gained through his growth into the King (or gifted by the Mega bird) OR he made it himself out of dark stones or something...and so something a bit more negative
Like, him trying to be something he is not (or shouldn’t be)
Could just be clothes tbh. Or that's just what happens when sky kids grow up (if they can)
HOLY MOLY I didn’t think of THAT

Oh my gosh skids are GODS /well more like demigods lol just sayin’
At this point in time, I have basically been a krill's ball and not have my light get yeeted out of me sometimes
Talking about glitches isn't in the rules if it's not something you got by modifying the game code
Though depending on the glitch, you may not want to talk about it to reduce its chance of getting removed
So it means hacking kind of glitches, got it.
Thanks, it always made me super nervous when convos went in those directions
But yeah, OOB talk and chibi falling is allowed because you only used in-game methods to get them.
Welp, @tranquil harbor was right.
Heads up about the winged light, the hole in the wall is now gone.
While the winged light is still there, it is now behind a wall.
@dry ivy you may need to chibi fall from the top to get it. That or do it from the bottom and flap your way up to it, unfortunately.
I'll report this in the mean time. And would recommend folks to do the same.
I'm just glad I stopped you from going full eden
Wait wasn't it Tebkanlo you were gonna tell?
Though then again
We have discussed on here on how Elders came to be. The idea that maybe normal Spirits ascend to become these huge godlike beings (or that the Elders were just “born” that way in the first place)
But kidna a cool idea that a skid could maybe become such a being, kinda like what the King might’ve done as shown in the lore
I heard that elders and sky kids are subspecies of each other rather than the same thing, but I only have 'rumor' like confidence in it.
I was fully intending on going, it would not do me much trouble aside from recollecting winged light.
Pancake and I thought we were missing the wl because the darn hole was hard to see. Turns out it is not there at all, lol.
Yeah, I was watching a youtube video on incoming updates and whoever I was watching covered it. Wasn't sure if it was the same place tho
Crabfields, back wall with the pipes. That WL is now floating in the air behind the wall, where the hole used to be.
I have no idea how or why that hole was removed by accident.
What does subspecies even mean... Are elders wolves and sky kids dogs, or are elders like, great danes vs the sky kids chihuahua or are neither good comparisons
What are Sky Kids? Fallen stars? I can't remember
I don't even think we know.
Oh, alright, ty. So the fall of stars was another unrelated thing to what sky kids are... I don't know why I was getting myself confused with that lol
I mean, we could also be fallen stars, but like, on purpose this time. But I don't think anything canon canon has been said
Ooooooh, alright I see
Vela has been typing for a while... Whatchu got
yeah lol
You know how the rythm troupe has a wide range of performers (and greeter) ?
Like in order we got the guy driving, a dancer, an actor, a juggler, a musician and the director.
Maybe the questgiver is a singer ?
If you like angst, I'd like to point out the only sound we hear from spirits outside the social areas and home is the pleaful call when you're taking time reaching the next part of their memory.
Maybe the rythm questgiver is a singer that tragically cannot sing anymore...
Because the dead cannot speak anymore.
Oh, I see, Vela wanted to stab us

Me: 'Whatchu got Vela'
Vela: "A knife!"
lol
Which vocaloid do we use for Rhythm QG?
Depends on what you think they present as. If you think the qg is a dude you probably don't wanna use miku
oliver
and being completely biased I tell u to use v flower
GUH—-
But hey, they seem to speak in a language the skids can understand, as shown with the brief sentences shown when the quest givers give quests (“ex. “She thinks more materials have yet to be found” etc)
I wasn't using my full brain to read Vela's message and
Why am I asking something like this in an angst post
I thought you had the angst song for the video already picked out
I thought you had a vision
Maybe they CAN sing, just...telepathically lol
Is Abyss guide referred to as 'she' or is it 'they'? (There probs aren't many people who don't see abyss guide as a chick tho)
Oh idk. I was just trying to say something from memory
Also I did this question with something that hitted my head this morning while talking with my sis.
If Sky Kids are fallen stars, how could be twins and identical twins sky kids possible? (me and my sis are identical twins and we came up with this question lol)
So like, what about if it's more less similar to irl stars?
Twin sky kids would come from sister stars, since irl they are made from the same matter but still different, more less like that (?)
And identical twins would come from a star that for some reason it split.
I'm not good at explaining lol
Mmm myes mind beams
Or maybe Megabird is being That Narrator and reading their minds for us
Yeah I’m one of them lol. Looks like a girl to me! (Her cute hair
)
I think the running idea is that the twins were one who split apart. Either during the star phase or later
yeah, I think that's my point lol
Aw!! I love this!
I can help but think of transformers here when siblings are mentioned in canon. Everyone gets confused—they don’t have parents, so how are sideswipe and sun streaker brothers lol
If memory serves I think they pop out of the all spark or whatever at the same time or something I dunno. Similar idea
Aren't transformer siblings the same soul split apart. The spark splits in two or whatever
OH! That’s what is was
It got erased lol
Anyways, I forgot Transformers had that too lol
COUGHUndertalenarratorhuhCOUGH*
Lol mind beams. Just...envision a spirit doing this
The ones in the vault do
ops, the ping got erased lol (dw, I don't minds pings lol)
Ahh whenever I think stars and siblings I think of the Pleiades
so pretty
the bot woke up
Okay let's be serious
To be fair Rhythm doesn't have quests so Rhythm doesn't have to speak
Maybe voice loss was part of the reason they died, and losing your voice isn't really part of death
Am I saying that Rhythm QG died when an Eden rock pierced their vocal chords? Idk lol
I HEARD TWINS!!!
I thought u were suggesting... they did it themselves. -squints at censor bot-
Man that is really sad but very symbolic and I sure do love me some angsty symbolism
come talk twins with me
My sis and I look like...the same even in Sky lol, but she has
's hair and mask (and black cape) and I have
's hair/mask (pink cape for me)
And I had somehow to find an explanation of twins in Sky
That is so cute~~ I love it
You don't have to explain jack because the lore is 'up to interpretation'
yeah true 😂
Twins twins twins!!!
Seriously, I've come up with hair brained ideas where sky kids are the kids of elders, but mutate into sky kids when they fall from the sky before adulthood. Like, do what u want my dude
I love the idea that when they get to orbit they can sing again
(I mean, I think the flying spirits there make some beautiful musical singing sounds in game actually...?)
anyways, I think that would be my take on how it could work lol
anytime friendo
embed fail 😔
I find it pretty fun and wholesome when someone takes the time to dress up like me in Sky as I only have my Switch to play Sky on
I actively discourage being twinsies with me by wearing the red switch cape. Good luck suckahs /jk
lol
Watch me try /lh
I gifted a switch pack to a random friend for the lulz mere hours ago. They straight up had their kid bowing to me
AWW
Then there was that time I told a friend 'don't ask questions and take this' gifted a season pass, then left thru the nearest gate. It's so funny
OKAY SHEESH this took me too long to find; I know we’ve moved on the convo at this point but I imagine spirit’s telepathic singing would be something like this: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hF7CG8E_OTk
(Theremin sounds like an otherworldly voice to me!!)
Pffft man
You get all the mischievous glee of a prank and yet no one is hurt or upset
I like this. Positive pranks.
Mischievous pranks can be funny but most of the time they are just kidna mean. This positive prank movement would be something I’d wnat to be a part of
Having to be friends for 3 days to give those kinds of gifts is the only downside. I can't befriend random players, gift them, then flee like an apparition they aren't sure was real
Tho I kinda get the point of that rule I guess
you are the sweetest person
I forgot about the option to gift friends passes...I’ll have to remember this
If the 'get a pass and 2 gift passes for the price of 2 passes' option still exists next season, I plan to go for it. It's fiscally responsible, and lets me do pranks
Oh! How much do they usually go for??
I could gift my sis and another buddy doing this
The bundle is $20, so u essentially get 1 free pass out of it. I don't think you can get the bundle if you already have the pass tho, so it's a one time save (per season)
I've heard that gift passes remain and change to match the current season one is in, but I have not been here long enough to test it. If you only had 1 friend, you could essentially give them 2 different seasons
Hey guys who do you think will win a Human with a flamethrower or a Skykid with a staff?
Sky kid. They seem to be fireproof, so the flamethrower would do nothing.
HOWEVER, sky kids are peaceful little friendly babies, so them actually swinging the staff at the human over trying to hug them is unlikely, while a human may swing the flame thrower at them physically (if they're a monster)
But what would happen if it's a grown-up Skykid?
We have no way of knowing if grown up sky kids are more violent.
That's like pitting the Graveyard krills against Oreo!

Would the graveyard krills attack Oreo? Dogs aren't made of light
The point is why would you sic the world's most dangerous animal on a widdle baby that brings light to the world
To be fair, despite how dangerous we are, I'm sure 97% of the people in this chat would hug their sky baby and never let go
Humans are dangerous, but we will pack bond to anything
Oh absolutely
I often feel concerned about my Skykid and would put ointment on their injuries if I could
Oh!! Neat!! Thanks for the info!
This only works for friends tho. We can't buy season passes for ourselves in advance like this
Additionally I have a feeling the Elders would NOT be happy to hear one of their skids are getting hurt
Sure, they seem like a peaceful lot too, but remember that the GW elder has a weapon
and Forest has a hammer...and even the old guy has a staff...ahhh and prairie elder could simply break you with his bare hands
Oh and if the vault elder is like the telepathic guys we see in the level, they could probably kill you with their mind
Honestly, if the elders aren't in the mindset of 'I'm not a parent, but I have thousands of children' then what is the point of their existence
avengers theme starts to play
Elders babying the Skykid is an absolute serotonin boost
I live for elders with sky kids climbing all over them like they belong there
Sits in Vault mama's lap
I live here now.
There is a sky cover of 'my neighbor totoro' where they use a forest elder oob and have someone sitting in her lap. Made me think of that
Which one would be better: Forest mama or Vault mama?
Forest Mama snatches our candle rudely, but she has a feel to her that says 'she is actually very caring and gentle underneath the gruff exterior' (and that idea of the forest being 'the teen years' and forest mama being 'an overbearing mother/aunt' helps strengthen that, because teens tend to see their parents as the enemy even if their parents really love them)
While vault mama gently coaxes our kid toward the diamond like 'it's alright, go ahead' and encourages them, which is very very cute and sweet. It's a hard choice
Forest mama please
In my opinion, I think they will become violent if someone try to harm them or try to harm those who they love or care, I mean they are no different than there ancestors.
So adult sky kids may have learned the wisdom of occasional violence with age. Not illogical
And plus they have super durability and also telekinesis and now pyrokinesis
they are also quite powerful too like they can carry 7 Skykids on there back. And also in the second quest of season of flight they were able to lift huge pieces of the boat
And yet during the season of assembly they needed 3 of them to lift some wood
Yeah weird
Imagine wasteland elder trying to hold a chibi and they scurry about like mice to a cat with large stone mittens.
I can absolutely see Wasteland elder getting mobbed by kids. Bet he'd save them from krills or something and boom, instant fan club.
Plus, he's just so climbable in general. Look at him.
BTW guys Skykids are kind of Immortal right?
I wish dawn elder was still able to summon his boats.
It looked so cool in Light Awaits.
We don't know. They have a rebirth cycle, but theoretically they could age out of it and 'die' by returning to the source
Relatively speaking, yes.
As long as they do not lose all of their light, they can go on and on.
And if they do die, there is revival and/or rebirth
So technically they are Gods
No
The rebirth cycle is just apart of their life cycle. It's fantastical in nature because it's a fantasy setting, but within sky it's just, normal
Censor bot @ Raider: absolutely not
BTW I have a another question I don't know but it's kinda crazy
Ask away and we'll see if there is an answer
Can a Skykid survive a explosion?
FINE.
Be warned.
Using the name of a particular bug, or its related emoji will get deleted.
A bit unnecessary but Noted.
I mean the explosion that are created by a missile
It got u 4 times lol
We don't know if they'll survive that, but the fireworks in game sure don't bother them. However, those may be magic
It's like yes but actually No
Basically. We just don't have enough info
The explosion will throw them away but at the same time the fire will heal them
@nimble ingot if censors remove something, please don't try to find ways to bypass censoring
It was literally a normal word for an actual bug.
noted. I apologise.
I would say skykids are effectively immortal cos they can’t die under typical circumstances and if they just avoided Eden they would never die
yes, but it's also a word that has generally been off-topic and over-used either to be insulting to to cause discomfort
@frigid tinsel I think so, for humans they will be God's
Okay so there was a point to its ban. I thought the censor was just over doing it by association with another word
moderators in this server have full control of the censoring, and there are many censored terms that aren't "bad" on their own, but due to ... ummm... server lore, have a history that has required censoring
That's totally fair
It's ok
Could be gestures :3c
The spirits definitely have the emotes to show what they want with a language barrier.
Sky kids are amazing at charades confirmed
I headcanon that skykid “language” is combined with visual signing like emotes as well as spoken, but when they speak it sounds like bells or like the calls. to get super unnecessarily in depth, kind of like how dolphin species or whales have very in depth communication but it all sounds like clicking to us
I like this a lot
I like making up skykid headcanons it’s fun
That's why we're here. Besides digging holes and fighting with the bot about how deep things are
I would use bats as a comparison but like 60% of their communication is them arguing with eachother lol
I was gonna mention bats. Like, I wonder if their little light guidance is echolocation-y or if it's something more fantastical. Like, how see friend behind rock?
I think it’s sorta like a mix. It’s fantastical because they’re little assumedly clay/charcoal/stone beings made of magic light/fire who can fly, so it’s hard to directly say that they’re using a 100% scientifically understood communication method. but I like to imagine that they do have the ability to echolocate to a degree with things like the deep call and sensing other skykids (ingame light icon telling you where someone is) and that it’s more like they’re able to sense the surrounding Light energy sorta like a frequency wave they can tune into with magic extrasensory processing
You. You are my favorite.
your icon is only half the reason
Immortality ≠ godhood
Immortality ≠ Godhood and Immortality ≠ Invulnerability
as for if a Skykid would survive like a missile explosion, I don’t know because those don’t exist in Sky
To prove skykids are gods, there has to be a series of tasks for them to prove their divinity.
I think one tried and that turned Eden into a hellscape /hj

You said it, Vela.
I was trying to type out 12 tasks such as the ones in the Greek myth, but Prophecy already had it covered!. XD
LOL pretty much
Would Sky ever having animated stone creatures?
Something like these:
…anyone feeling like writing a series of lore books for the game like they do in Destiny 2?
Probably
I think the only way they’ll add those concepts is if it matches with a later season
Office robot looks a lot like concept Daleth in top left
I like this part because it looks like a hoard of wary grandpas ready to squish the skykid with their sticks
The one directly facing the skid has Gandalf vibes
”YOU SHALL NOT PASS”
"Fly! You Fools!"
Concept Daleth could fight off anyone with their cane and I’m here for it
Daleth is noticeably less skinny
they’re on a low cholesterol diet
when my internet decides it's not Sky time I kinda want to see if some of the ores, if any, are pretty common in Sky but rare on Earth
The ores?
Yea, like gold and silver being pretty rare on Earth but seemed to be pretty common in Sky
it's a bug the whole hole where it was somehow is filled and you can only chibi fall in there
yup. I reported it.
The wall is now just smooth, wall of darkness.
I get there is not much to see on the flat walls, but making them pitch black is not all they interesting for the eyes.
CONFESS YOUR CRIMES TO THE STICK MAN
As far as I know we cannot talk about hackers meanwhile OOBing (and glitching, which is 80% of How To OOB ) are safe Topics
Man im bored can yall give me something that's lore related to draw (not the best at drawing but still)
The new TS
What crimes? By Daleth Isle Elder?
Why so many think of They like that?
Maybe it's time to dust off on of my old interpretation of this symbol
Drawing is not perfect, some placements do not correspond to the ones on the Eden Door
there are 2 separate stars that are not connected.
would they be the king and prince?
well, this is mainly inspired from the door, not the icon/button, there are no dots on that one 😅
Is there any lore explaining how it why the LP didn't get krilled?
Anyway, back before Prophecy come out, there were many talking and speculating on Daleth not being represented on that door. While many thought Isle Elder was excluded in some ways from it (for various reasons or hypothesis) mine was a little different
He did not have any light on him.
But when you held his hand/piggied him, he slowly recharged you
And somehow my Idea ties even to You Shall Not Pass
TLP is a solar panel.
Okay in all seriousness it might be an emotional effect/effect added to make gameplay easier
Ohh ic, thanks!
That might have been a bug.
Gameplay-wise.
The Little Prince was using a skykid as a base to run in the game. Hence why he can walk and run like one, hold hands and emote.
Skykid can charge each other by holding hands.
Lorewise
The LittlePrince was your friend and was a child.
Perhaps being friends was enough to warm a skykid.
Hope this clears things up.
little parenthesis from my theory
But prince cannot fly like us just by getting carried by birds on strings, maybe we felt it and selfrecharged for the special moment, like the first hug/highfive with a friend recharge more but more just for the very first time
Back on topic....
TLP is actually as hot as boiling water, skykids think its cozy but humans would not
/j
Only 5 Elders are depicted on the seal of EDen Door, maybe because they were the only ones that physically escaped the Realms
Precisely the Door we can open with 5 crystals/diamonds/prisms
The only one not included is the isle elder. Funnily isle is excluded from nearly everything. There must be something up with that.
Magical child
Humans are mammals. Mammals have natural body heat. The little prince is also wearing very thick pjs and a scarf so he's going g to be quite hot.
He's going to be quite hot
Why did I take this in the wrong way
HE IS A CHILD!!!!!!!

Imagine if the prince was cold, he could lie down with a skykid for warmth, even borrow a cape as a blanket.
100 degrees Celsius hot to be exact
Very cozy for a fireproof skykid but painful for human beings

Ok why does this chat make me wanna draw TLP in like Troup Greeters pants

do it
Sky: TLP is a Microwave
But seriously if you like TLP you should check out r/advicefortheprince
What the heck has happened here
the usual
Did you just doodle this—-

(I love you art style!)
in my headcanon, the storm was too strong and they tried to contain it with an invisible magical barrier, but to exit from that barrier one had to stay inside to cover the exit /breach so Daleth shielded the exit to let the other get out into safety ||meanwhile He said You Shall Not Pass to the storm
And so the 5 got out and were capable of marking their sigils on the strongest barrier around Eden (meanwhile each of them possibly created a nimor invisible barrier around each realms, like a sealed compartment to prevent Darkness to spread too much on others) (maybe Samekh/The Twins also used their Air Element power to create a whirlpool to push back any dark clouds into Wastelands)
Daleth so just slightly represented on the Door by the middle line/staff from bottom to the center of the door
I also noticed how Daleth is getting closer to us in its dimension cutscenes walking away from Eden exhausted and broken.
In another theory of mine, since he is the elder of Dawn is able to manipulate/repel darkness a bit, after all it is Dawn that "defeat" the Eternal Darkness
Wait I got a name idea: ||the Little Troupe|| (very creative i know)
7 TLPs performing for you with magical trumpets
"Alexa, play Among Us Trap Remi-"
OF all the 6 Enchantment Lights only 2 are missing and equivalent Elements that were distowed upon other reals as a gift from the King/Prince/Chosen One who defeated the Trials
Prairie, Forest, Valley and Wastelands got Earth, Water, Air, Fire. But what about Red and Purple. And what are their meaning... We tend to call these 2 elements Void and Magic herein lore, but I'd think more suitable names could be Imagination (and Vault seems the perfect realm to tied Magic/Imagination, also for its blue/Purple theme) and either Tragedy or Storytelling (because Red Light seems attracted to tragic places like Shipwreck Area and Forgotten Ark and used to draw us a Stoty)
Or maybe red light represents History
If you forget your past you're doomed to repeat it
So Red Light could be originated from Isle of Dawn, the place with a great amount of murals and even the most storytelling part (the Intro Tunnel, where we "hear" a voice explaining us the origin/tragedy of the Kingdom)
After all, if Red is tied to help manipulate/contain darkness, Daleth could be the best candidate, to use it to keep Dawn in splendor
So that also fit in my headcanon, with him being the most skilled one to repel (You Shall Not Pass) the darkness raging inside the Storm
Dont you think that the lights might have all come from megabird?
Also red light is known as void, at least thats what I’ve been told.
I say tragedy and storytelling because they are silver lined, any good story or is full of twists and pathos (not only to relate in some ways to the reader)
Any storytelling cannot really kick in if there was no revolutioning event that disrupt an initial setting (Once Upon A Time always need to be followed by a But Everything Changed When "X" Happens)
Once upon a time, the krill were happy. But everything changed when the first ever moth to exist after the tragedy stole their warm fresh popcorn.

Yes, but void, beside being a "label" in the game source code, is never used in any place.
It's all a speculation what it is and what is not. We basically only see Muralist using it to reveal their story. Nothing more. How could a void be the explaination of a story in a mural?
Or at least, that's what I've come up to think. I cannot 100% say my theory is correct. But I feel it could be on a right track
This reminds me of my forest tale of the 3 Little Crabs
||It's is always the BIG BAD MOTH that comes and honks poor crabs off
||
Maybe , yes. In a way I think we have a prove of the 4 Elements coming from Megabird already
4 Stars fell in Isle and maybe the 4 Ancestors with the role of studying/taking care of them discovered their mystic powers, each of them becoming Prophets who foresaw the need of someone capable of controlling they mystic plane of the those Gifts
Perhaps its light that represents darkness.
You see I've started to notice that the paint used for murals, as well as mechanisms such as doors, lights up and reveals it's self due to some sort of reaction with different things. One of these things seems to be dark stone, the possible biggest cause for darkness. Its especially prevalent in doors.
Perhaps that is how these murals are being shown to us at that moment, because we see the moralist hand paint the murals in their memory, they didn't use the light to paint them. The murals had to have already been there, just hidden. Its similar to how the flowers react to us walking through them. They glow.
They then hired anxty teenage wasteland elder as their employee and their boss.
Indeed, it's more like the can unveil their history hidden by the passing of times, because of their tragedy the place is in ruins ,but with that Light it can start to reveal a part of what murals already was there.
The Red Light to me is subtly both dark and light at the same time (even if it could be paradoxal, right?) it can be found in a place with a deep dark tragic story, but it is not inherently "DARKNESS/EVIL" cause it can be used in a good way, to pass on their story, to reveal what once was already there (like many of the murals which were there before even we dawn of skikids era)
Who wield that light is not corrupted, they are not able to control ""The Void"" or to create blackholes or to tame dark creatures. No, that would be too much...I cannot find a suiting word in english, so I will go by "edgy". To me it s all more subtly poetic
i love this image

What I'm getting from this is that red light is a bit like raccoons. Its drawn to tragedy, but isn't tragic or terrible much itself.
Trash is tragedy?
I am simply making parallels in behavior, not items or concepts.

Somehow The back of Forgotten Ark well is completely dry now
What's happening with water levels in Sky?
can't have skykids drowning in weird places!
But now Alchemist cutscene will make no sense
I alreqdy noticed some reductions of water levels in other maps
oof lol
They’re so desperate that they waste magic on a tiny puddle of water
nice
alasdair no
at least it isn't 300 unreads like I've had before
i have you now
The story goes that the ansestors went to far or soemthing. So I wonder is they tried to mine the red stones in eden. I mean it looks like some explosion happend.
probably diamond production, the red stones came after the explosion imo
It seemed the pinnacle of civilization, with the best city of the whole kingdom, idk how well a mining site would fit there, that is indeed a new POV

as observed in history, it could have been like the industrial revolution, where urbanisation occurred due to people moving for work or wealth, seems like that could fit, given the context and how everything appears industrial, and with how some areas are much deeper almost like stairs (just a thought, though)
it also fits with the narrative of people going too far
I just started considering this when I realize the stones were embeded in the walls.
in stormlock, there is corrupted darkstone raining from the Sky, presumably from that giant red diamond ahead. those bits outside of stormlock must've fallen from there too and embedded in the ground and walls.
it's part of why I think the storm is receding – those bits of corrupted darkstone is all over Eden, yet the rain is only after the point of no return. perhaps during the initial stages of the cataclysm, it was raining corrupted darkstone all over Eden, but chilled out over time. though the storm may be waning very slowly
Yes, this goes along with the possible water trials prophecy too. The hill at the end is very similar to eden, with the beam of light and the winged look but and the water covering the majority of it. But in the cutscene for when we get the Jesus ability, the water is always at its lowest point. I believe that last cutscene prophesies the restoration of the Eden land.
I love reading this
Lore is too addicting, tbh
Robots have feelings too!
You wish they do!
I doubt it
We’re very sorry for all the mean things we’ve said to you
Are you sure about that?
Liar. I hate you and the venom you spew, do you understand me? DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME YOU-
no
I CAN SEE THROUGH YOUR LIES! YOU WILL NOT GUILT TRIP ME!!!!!!!
i'm not sorry
Unrelated:
Sky kids are made with atleast 2% light and polyester filling
skykids are made of wax /hj
I heard polyester and for some reason my mind went to asbestos instead and the mesothelioma meme just went 'hello'
you may be entitled to financial compensation
Us: We would cuddle the sky baby if they were real
Sky babies: Dangerous to humans
may be too hot to handle
They would probably burn us if we touched them. Need potholders
Yeah lol
its prolly not just that single vault lantern projecting all the lighting and stuff btw
Truuue!
Valley is awful with its dark stone use. Not only will it use dark stone for technology, but also as DECOR!!!! While its not the worst one with amount of dark stone, it is the worst with excessiveness.
Ofc it’s excessive….. it’s Valley lol
and yet it's the most clean
Valley didn't make power diamonds, just used them
Guys, Eden is incredibly beautiful. I don't know how else to express its chaotic beauty, with its krill and hurling stones.
It's like a mess of anguish and devastation. It's just hauntingly beautiful for me.
Valley is the one place I'd expect heavy darkstone use, given its rather tough environment. Snowy mountains are not easy to live on
Yes, because its got only snow, and its a major city so it should keep clean to keep its fame. It also doesnt produce darkstone nor have a high risk factor for krill and what not, valley just doesnt have enough liquid ice.
i wouldnt say so!
valley people dont even wear that much clothing!
(furthering proof of clayshell and non-bio)
they really be chilling, not-literally
Food generally doesn't grow well in the snow, and the forgotten ark farm says they def need to eat
y e s
Interesting point, can ALL darkstone project stuff or is it just the lantern looking things that are modified for that purpose? They can store light, obviously, so maybe it’s all of them but they have to be cut/arranged in a certain way?
No more than the rest of the kingdoms.
A world in ruins. The once great settlements are now gone, its people shredded to pieces. All that remains of the old world is the Storm. It is indestructible and omnipotent. Stopping it is foolish. Can you stop the ocean? Eden will never change, its name will always become associated with ruin and pain.
ark farm didnt say anything, but angler DOES prove that they eat light creatures
id be willing to bet the farm was plants made of light
(in fact ive always thought that ive just never pointed it out thus far)
It’s an important question because if all darkstone can project things and its just another attribute revolving around it storing light, then all the projections would be non solid and vault would definitely not be one of them
Actually, there is a little proof that eden could potentially in the future settle down, I mean there’s only a finite amount of rocks, and enough of the kingdom has been uncovered by clouds to be livable again.
I like to think that the trees in forest used to have leaves made of light (as shown in a mural… somewhere) which provided about the same amount of light as a butterfly, and would’ve been used until the ancestors realized that the hearts of the trees contained much more powerful light…
perhaps/i think so
actually, maybe im wrong and that lantern is projecting all the lighting visions/illusions, BUT...... hmmm
is anything in the arena floating during the skater's performance?
maybe THAT'S what they're for
otherwise it's a 50/50 on esther being right about it just being decor or me being right about it helping with the lighting
There is an idea that the vault is a fake place??? Like, entirely?
quick question jam, what are your thoughts on emotes that include… I don’t know how to phrase this correctly without it sounding horribly cursed… Human Fluids. Like the sweating and crying emotes
Wait that's Jam?
I have a feeling that they have modified dark stone to do different things, keep an eye out for the translucent ones, they always open doors.
No it’s actually my alternate account, sorry
you're right
Yes, i noticed how it all looked like a projection. The mantas there arent even real!
So we can have wooly manta subspecies but not cosmic manta?
just light
the reason that ancestors and skids would have the IDEA to express them can be non-canon
(same as concept that animal masks of irl animals can exist without them existing in skyverse)
the reason they have the idea to express like that can be non-canon, while the WAY they do it is extension of their inner light, (in my idea of what could be possible)
They cry light. Idk shot sweat but the crying emotes cry light at higher levels. Maybe the Sky kids shed some small amount of light when they’re sad. That would make sense to me.
oh Megabird imagine if skids had been around at the same time as ancestors, I’m picturing a horrid reality where ancestors torture skids to make them cry to harvest their light
It can be both
why are you talking to yourself me
both of what?
Psh, I'm WAY cooler than those mods!
The bot is trying to get us banned with cheap bait
Cool as in cold. As in, your presence freezes everyone around you with your unfunniness.
I mean you’re not the one who creates Sky and keeps working on new stuff for it. So. No you’re not :)
Both decor and usage
Ya'll are so mean to a mod. Damnnn
Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
It knows what it did
What's going on here
Oh skybot woke up from coma
the reason i think it's a purposeful utility rather than a natural process like tears or sighing would be, is because skykids learn it as a utility, not a natural thing
via vela, alasdair, and i's sessions from, december, i think,
we stated that skykids do not LEARN how to have emotion
they already can and do feel emotions right from the getgo, they just dont know how to express them until they GET those utilities from. the ancestor
there was a wonderful parallel to being on the spectrum made that other people would word better than me iirc
anyways, for skykids, its definitely just an expression rather than a bodily event,
BUT we can't be sure for ancestors, cos we dont know how they learn them, or if they learned them the same way from the moment they landed onto the world
Lol
ohhhh
well yes definitely, if it had a use, it still was placed very fashionably rather than just anywhere, i agree lolol
And
I think learning the emotes gradually gives us empathy
That we may or may not have been born with
Ever notice how each realm has a specific style/theme. Its only seen on spirits from that realm, like valley, its all bird themed. And isle seems to have the theme of symbolic or representative animals. Prairie has some sort of style that is representative of specific aspects of nature(this includes flight spirits). Forest spirits have similar masks, one color with a simple symbol, as well as more casual clothing it seems. Valley is(as I said) birds but also formal. This makes sense as they are all about entertainment and performances. Wasteland and vault on the other hand doesn't have enough information.
By the way, I include gratitude in isle as they fit with prophecy.
I'm not surprised they have a theme. They're pretty big, so they probs have cultural differences
Question is, when will we see the Eden style?
When we seen an Eden season. Which is a topic for discussion
Not necessarily, it could take place in say....
Isle, as refugees or people who were just lucky.
Some say that it should happen to truly explain Sky lore. Others say it won’t happen, as it would distract players from the main journey. Personally, Eden has its flaws with distractions, and an Eden season could compound this
You can have Eden spirits without the season being directly about eden.
Hmm… that would be interesting! Although a Home season is higher priority for me. WE NEED SHOPKEEPER LORE
The lore being vague and being fed in crumbs as art on the walls is one of the main features of the game, I have no faith they'll ever give us a proper story on eden or any of the other areas. Unless the game shuts down
The shopkeeper's cousin's friend's long lost uncle is from eden.
when the game has its end of service
everything will be revealed
or not
BUT THEY NEVER LEAVE CLIFFHANGERS
right?
isn't one of the wasteland spirits called the something Refugee?
You guys do know they already have the lore figured out, right?
We are the authors of the lore Bible, not the devs
They know, but they won't tell us. We want to know.
SOME OF THE LORE ISNT EVEN IN THE BETA YET!!!!!
Rebellion! This is what they get for not feeding us!
@hushed steeple what does that mean?
Yeah.
But they'll only reveal it as a biggol whole after the game shuts down because by then NDAs won't matter
Where is it tho
It means they haven't implemented some parts of the lore into the testing phase.
There is a lot of lore they haven't implemented yet???
In our minds, hearts, heads, and souls. All we need is a pen and paper, or a Google Drive account.
Pretty certain
unreleased lore...
No I mean, I know there is a lot of lore that hasn't been implemented. I don't get what your point was because I never said anything against that
I mean there wasn't much evidence for a dark stone production factory until abyss.
Is Forest Temple a joke to you? /ih
I misinterpreted
via my player projection philosophy, we always had the potential to, but as moths, not only do we have to learn HOW to do the expression, we also still dont know WHEN to
we can only learn HOW from ancestors, but we learn WHEN to from other players
seeing people bow when you help them with a task or they light you, seeing people clap after someone finishes playing music, seeing vets shush you or faint when you spam honk or something
you really begin to reciprocate all of that, and you wouldn't learn to as fast if you didnt see other people do it first
that goes for general kindness too
Ah. Yeah it happens. Sorry if I came off aggressive btw, I was just confused.
Also, what is ih short for? I've been told it's a gentle tone indicator but...
psst jam my brain is too distracted to form full posts/rebuttals but out of curiosity what are your thoughts on the dead spirits in the tearful light miner memory and the fainting warrior memory in general
I'm not familiar with half of the language of my own generation yet.
did you mean Lh, as in lighthearted?
Guys help Esther and I are not hip
OH, it's an L
curse whoever decided that capital I and lowercase l should look the same in 45% of fonts
I prefer to use full words typically, sometimes I don't.
there arent darkness plants over their graves, so those arent graves but just memorials
perhaps their corpse is elsewhere, under one of the many plants we burn?
or maybe the captain and minor found a way to dispose of their bodies so they wouldnt be eaten up by the darkness?
hmm
oh god salem i think we're gonna have to deduce where dead bodies might be tomorrow
It’s confusing
Season of Embalming /j
Maybe the graves are sacred? Like, they're made of special rocks right? Maybe they protect the bodies from the darkness plants.
Season of taxidermy.....
maybe, i still dont think the body would be under those headstones tho
after all, what's under those headstones is.... well, actual stone; solid ground
Spirit: Okay so you ||pull the brain out through the nose... (yes this is an actual step in mummifying someone)||
O-kaaaaay, can we please leave this bit behind because I'm about to curl in on myself. I get squicky
Funny thing is, you can find stones like that in other places too. Like by the exit from the caverns.
aight I covered it up for the future, sorry about that
so they would fade away immediately upon death? that makes sense especially considering the bodies of the spirits in the miner’s memory just kind of disappear, there isn’t a scene with them pulling the bodies out from the wall…
I should have specified but was more confused about the process shown in fainting warrior of them actively dying. Like, the memory makes it look as if they got a stomach wound and are clutching it to avoid bleeding out. Maybe it’s the outer shell breaking and they’re trying to avoid the light bleeding out?
Can it fit through the nose tho…?
Thank you. I start to imagine that stuff and then it's just -bleg- shivers all the way down. Yes Mune it can. It's a real process
||apparently...?||
sadness warning!
||because with the crew on the lifeboat, their bodies or living bodies could have made it to shore and tried to trudge away, and be the plants on the pipes and ground
with the miner, the corpses could be the plants blocking the entrance; we did see them get buried alive inside the entrance after all||
I think they take it out in pieces, not as a whole why am I still talking about it help
Ummmmmm, are there anymore spirit memories where spirits just randomly uhhhhhhh fade away?
Excluding slouching soldier, those are just a figment of his imagination.
Also, you already know my theory about where all the dead bodies are, although I am open to alternate Ideas
no more like their broken shell just lies around becoming easy prey for darkness to grow on and sap Light from
so do the plants literally contain the potential lightguts of their friends?
We buy cosmetics with the remains of dead people
in the plants right?
@hushed steeple caverns?
I like to think the wax is their way of thanking us for freeing them
I remember the crab call spirit has someone looking suspiciously like a corpse in it, although they could just be passed out
THERE IS DARK PLANT MATTER IN YAWNING SPIRITS MEMORY!!!!!!!!
TIME TO ARREST CRAB CALL AND THEIR CRAB MAFIA!
maybe!
@keen shore could you elaborate on crab call corpse ive never heard of this @_@
Maybe their light was leaking out through some wound? Idk anything much about ancestor anatomy or if they really have light.
I wonder what a crab mafia boss looks like
For clarification, the crab call spirit did not make the corpse. They stumbled upon it and looked incredibly concerned
I will try to relive it tonight to get the pic… although it is a very hated spirit memory of mine
Lore chat finally uncoverse the crab mafia's dirty dealings
The yawning spirit in prairie village has dark plants in its memory.
but yes salem im being very firm with the corraborative theory that darkness plants are exactly where the corpses were left
A New Convert To My Idea
are they blue? does it show the spirit interacting with them?
otherwise, i think those plants are just the ones WE can see, they may not be part of the memory
Im gonna go relive crab call and look for this supposed corpse.
I agree too. At least, I like the idea and I can see it being possible. Plus, much angst.
it's unclear whether ancestors buried their dead. they had grave stones, but did those graves contain their bodies? would they care about their bodies in a world where they might've been reborn into new bodies? but did ancestors have access to the rebirth cycle in the first place? if so, why make graves? if not, then perhaps that's why they had graves – to remember their companions after their spirits ascended.
worth noting is that we can summon spirits from their graves, so perhaps the graves were in part used to call down ascended spirits. that way, they could speak to the dead who have ascended in the case of ancestors not having access to the rebirth cycle.
My Army Is Rising
Tsadi concept art
Please
They are burnable, but they only appear while you're reliving the spirit, its like miner spirit.
yee i think those arent graves just memorials
why would tearful light miner be sad about his companions if they were just gonna be reborn? I think they're part of the rebirth cycle now, but I don't think they were before
I don’t think they’re graves either, just because some are in weird locations. Like the slope in praying acolyte’s memory, there wouldn’t be enough room to bury a body under some parts of that
I don't know that ancestors can be rebirthed at all.
Don't worry, we don't know for sure either.
Even if they can... what are they going to rebirth into
Oh no….||I thought it looked like a fancy crab||
Several spirits like the TS ascend during their seasons but come back later
Are TS even canon?
ohhhhh the blacksmith one, yes
OH NO
GUYS
I JUST REALIZED
THE PLANT WE BURN THAT ONLY APPEARS IN MINERS MEMORY, IT SHOWS HER WITH SOMEONE WHO WASNT KILLED IN THE CAVE COLLAPSE
HE MUSTVE DIED RIGHT THERE WHERE THEY WERE SITTING TOGETHER.......
but
what does that mean for blacksmith person?
esther is right, why do they have a plant in their memory
ive just discovered the plant in miner's memory IS the miner's friend's corpse, but there's no other spirit in the blacksmith's memory..... hmm.........
Also, the sky kids are 'reborn', but they're not reborn. they're the same kid, in the same body, with the same memories. The spirits are reborn as spirits again
Im going to commence a strict and thorough interview with troupe greeter tomorrow. I will force lore out of them if its the last thing I do.
an excellent rebirth cycle theory debunk!!!
THE BLACKSMITH IS A MJRDERER!!!!!!!
yee, i remember when i had to tell lapis that lol
Which realm do enchantment and belonging spirits originate from?
ill relive blacksmith later for myself to try to see, but great find esther!
OH MY GOD
The sky kids being reborn as sky kids free to do whatever is why I think the spirits are also free to just start living their 'lives' again like normal people.
Or they are part of the cycle, but unlike us, they don't get reborn as themselves
dying and witness death is still traumatic
Oh yeah the guy with the darkness we had to burn away totally died slowly inside that cave. It’s why I’m skeptical of the idea that they died of suffocation / starvation because the miner would’ve likely died as well… ||maybe the light miner absorbed some of their light to survive and that’s why their darkness plant is so small||
Ok, so everyone talks about the big krill horns in the ship wrech, but nobody talks about the ones in the forgotten ark?
i think maybe he was injured and he bled out too much light, so he died right there
okay that's a lot of angst
If they didn’t willingly give their light then does that mean the light miner indirectly killed them?
Yes.
It was one of my posts what did you expect
Also, to clarify, the other spirit would’ve already been dead, miner would’ve absorbed them at moment after death / before light dissipated. It’s also possible that if the cave was completely closed off, their soul couldn’t go anywhere an was trapped inside, so it wouldn’t have flown towards the temple at all
Being lighthirsty is one thing. Being lighthirsty to survive is another.
no like salem this is awesome we're creating another new lorescience law to go off of
the reason we dont see dozens more people of the kingdom is because every darkness plant is where a person died!
ancestor's corpses that died creates a plant, and the ones that became memories of their former selves are the ones that were only infected by the darkness, so they were still eaten alive over the next decade, but it took a very long time to kill them, and their bodies and souls persisted living on in spirit long after, being stored via alasdair's "Darkness stores Light" principle
Oh wow
oh my god...
Ok so, should we imagine every single spirit memory playing at the same time before everyone died slowly? Would that be how this worked. Cause the crab call spirit does look around the ship wreck quite curiously and with concern.
jam yells "we're making progress"
Wait. If ancestor spirits are light, and darkstone stores light. Could you theoretically…
The forest temple door seems to suggest so
Are you suggesting that we do the blender on ancestors?
It’s morally okay, they’re already dead /j
literally had a similar idea for my main skyfic (not the Valley Elder(s) angst fic)
that question has been asked before
i dont think it could get that complicated
if anything, yeah you could store the bare light essence you drain out of them after you kill them, but it's not like you could store their soul inside the darkstone, yknow?
imagine if storing someone's soul in darkstone led to a talking darkstone
"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME YOU IDIOT" - 🔷
Oh god, someone needs to write this down!
how-
Where's the crack fic
by the way I just realized that the way I said that could be interpreted as rude
when I say that that has been said before, I just mean that I was prepared to answer because I had answered it before so I was excited that I could answer it quickly and confidently
This is true. However, you can go the alternate route and say that ancestors were so desperate for darkstone that they used the people killed in wasteland’s war to power their machinery. Would definitely drive in the point of crossing many moral lines to keep their power alive
I'm Stuck with A Talking Diamond and I Can't Shut Them Up
Also, you light up darkstone to get it to function in the same way you light up spirit memories to get them to start working…
Likely not canon but you can definitely do something with that piece of information
*you lit up the dark diamond.
*you can hear the screams of the damned coming out of the diamond.
*wait isn't this just poppy pl-
Isle elder vs sentient boat who would win
I gnejthejtjeifh
Isle Elder would smash the boat with their cane and then the power diamonds to free the souls
isle elder
Don't sleep on grandpa isle
This is like the “6 billion lions vs the sun” meme. How many sentient boats would it take to defeat the isle elder?
Ok I have to sneep snorp on grandpa isle
why do I always come into the funniest sentences
anyway hi lore gang I’m too tired for lore and it’s stupid-o-clock where I am and will be sleeping soon
but I got black cape and am cosplaying the Ex-QG
Good job!
Could isle elder win against a sentient version of the forgotten ark
not engaging bc im a lil squishy at times 😔 but for the people who wanted to see/needed images
I- I just dont know if they’re dead or not. Maybe i should try some medicines to see if theyll Wake up.
I got black cape too recently. my skid takes off from Sneaky Survivor the spy
Do we know him? Some spirits know each other, like is that a light seeker
This is the fight scene we all need
IT HAPPENED AGAIN!! Repeat of the vault murals
Thank you both very much for the screenshots
No problem
oh yea that's definitely a dead body.
we need to make a list of spirit memories with dead & dying ancestors.
Someone: "I know there is proof in game but I need to go get it"
Half the server: "I went and got u pics"
I mean they’re all dead but
@tulip aspen the screenshots are here. Definitely looks like a dead body, considering the amount of sand obscuring the face/appendages suggesting they’ve been there for a while…
Notice how the body is missing both and arm and a head.
The crabs ate them like scavengers
im bad at engaging so i just grab pics to engage HJDHDH shout out to funny manta post flight quest four
ok I never noticed that that’s morbid
I love it
TGC, dudes, kids play your game /jk
My personal interpretation is that the head and arm got buried by the sand, but tbh it doesn’t make it much better
Its 9+
I thought so too but this makes more sense
Some 9-year-old, doing crab caller: I don't even look at the memories, give me emote
you can show dead bodies and even body horror in kids' media as long as the blood isn't red and there's no organs
FNAF X SKY WHEN
Sometimes it's hard to look at memories. The young skater and peeking postman race goes way too fast. It sucks because I want to look at them
I wonder if their arm + head got blown off by a turret/some kind of related explosion?
Well, seeing as they're right by the crashed boat.................
imma just send a link to me as the QG because it’s offtopic and I need sleep
#seasons-events-chat message

Do NOT throw crabs at a coworker

This may cause injury
Also fun fact vol the sleepy traveler has the lights on their boat so. I think it’s safe to say they’re related to enchantment somehow
They might do business with those spirits
The lights are everywhere, and red light proves that there's multiples. Im pretty sure the enchantment guide just gave that to them for stock purposes.
congratulations

headcanon: Sleepy Traveler is an enigma. they're the only spirit who has ever arrived at Homespace by boat. sometimes they show up at the Forgotten Ark to restock spells and nobody has a clue how they got there (in my ficverse, the wasteland navigators help them but they just show up and everyone is just "wut is this guy"). whenever they're Home, there's always a few younger skykids who try to convince them to ascend but they wave them off. the older skids have just given up on them. at untold times, the Traveler packs up and leaves.
But seriously, which realm(s) are the belonging and enchantment spirits from.
Skykid: Ascend you fool
Sleepy Traveler: you cant sleep in orbit its too bright
yes I did notice that
night (for real)
It's possible they leave because they ascended and then go restock. Or they've ascended a while ago and are one of the 'stay to help the kids' kind of spirits
In my ficverse, everyone either gets traumatized, has trauma, dies and comes back, dies, or any combination of those.
My vote is isle for enchantment, especially if it happened after the realm turned into a desert
Evidence:
- only other source for how isle culture looks is prophecy, which happened a while before
- identical mural style to most of isle, and the desire to do it in the first place
- forgotten ark murals show them traveling through the realms like us, this is only possible if they start at prairie, isle, or outside the kingdom
- know how to farm (this is headcanon bc I see the isle as being a former agricultural area)
Me, just trying to write a fic about sky kid and young skater fulfilling her dream: -fear-
Sleepy Traveler: Poor kids I wanna give them some light to help
Megabird: You already ascended pal
Sleepy Traveler: How much to become a bodhisatvva
Megabird: Uhhhh...
it has all those spells in it....
by this definition Grandma is a bodhisattva
Alternate explanation is that they’re someone whose everything but appearance got absorbed by the darkness plants and are just reused as a familiar face to give us stuff we need
Tsktsktsk
Remember, isle culture involves animal themed outfits, enchantment does not pass the test. What does pass the test is the fact that their murals depict them all as scholars.
In the switch trailer, Isle had a bunch of tents and our little group was traveling to it. I think isle was a trade hub, while prairie was agricultural
omg!
thanks for that!
dam..... who could that be folks...?
This is a good point, but why don’t the base game isle spirits have masks? or the isle elder themselves? The prophets are probably an outlier here, tbh
i still want abyss team vs flight team like that other convo
this reminds me i wrote up a headcanon explaining where the sleepy traveler and their boat goes when there's no active event
the sleepy traveler goes to the forgotten ark to restock their spells and potions before heading back to homespace
now the travel time from home to the ark is very long, that's why they only pop up every so often
and i'm assuming the sleepy traveler is also the former daily questgiver so i'll just say they decided to stay at the ark full-time to learn how to make their own potions
that's why they're no longer home, now that they've learned how to send daily quests to the skykids from afar via the homespace shrine they can now devote more of their time to potion crafting and being tutored by the enchantment crew
spirits who already ascended don't seem able to descend for long. Granny is around for dinner only 15 minutes at a time. the Lightseeker around the cherry blossom tree collects their light and leaves. traveling spirits stay for a few days at most. sure, ascension may be the final destination, but it ties the ancestors' spirits to the Light in some way where they're obliged not to leave for long.
Sleepy Traveller may be aware of this and chooses the bodhisattva afterlifestyle (thanks Fruitzie for the term).
They lack a sense of fashion and style.
This is assuming Granny isn't out gathering ingredients/cooking somewhere else and the table is her dining room.
Grandma gets all their ingredients from the megabird (trust me this sentence DOESN'T sound morbid on purpose)
thats a great point!!!
megabird tastes like chicken
Also, its a very minor few spirits. They dress code isn't that strict.
If all the seasonal spirits had to fight each other in teams who would win… here are my theories
- prophets are undefeated until they get banned from the tournament a day later for putting other spirits in trials and trapping them there
- enchantment ranks high because they won’t stop casting magic spells on people, eventually they also get banned from the tournament after abusing Chibi spells and punting their downsized opponents
You've got extended car warranty to take care of, take your break in your kingdom but if you're out for longer than 15 minutes I'm yanking you back up for your extended car warranty!
-Megabird
doesnt the isle elder have a mask?
They do, it’s just not an animal one
Grandma? /lh gq
o i missed convo context lolol
There is a big chat table in the hidden forest, and during certain times of day, an old lady spirit appears with food you get wax from. She feeds us
if you show up before Granny does, Granny descends from above like a spirit sparkle the same way they ascend. so, yea, they get all their ingredients from Megabird. tbh tho I like the idea that they may be out for a little while gathering ingredients, but given the mochi is made of light and Granny literally "cooks" in front of a fireplace, I think thats all the gathering they need.
ohhhh i did not know about thst
I think the timing is '30 mins after the day's reset and every 2 hours after that'. I've only seen granny once
Megabird: I cannot stop Grandma from plucking a feather from me every 2 hours and cooking with it. Ever heard of Prometheus' fate, where eagles would always eat his liver and it would regrow every day?
Skykid: Feathers aren't as important as livers you idiot.
Megabird: The pain is the same. Honk you.
skykid: what's a liver?
Megabird makes us go to eden so Granny feeds them to us as vengeance
Insert bad joke about how since everyone is dead they have a dier instead of a liver now
you don't need to eat when you're dead.
this fact broke Angler's spirit
Lol-
That would imply that Angler is a food appreciator.
moreso that Angler enjoys the intimacy of feeding people, the bonding that can come from sharing food, and the satisfaction that they've ensured everyone's got full bellies. they're
always proudly ensuring everyone has enough to eat.
Abyss commits war crimes, they get banned for harpoon abuse.
Rhythm flies on their elder bird and get banned for plummeting people to their death.
Flight refuses to fight and blocks off the windpaths.
Gratitude fights fairly but some of them die.
Light seekers blinds everyone, and since that's technically allowed they get to stay.
Assembly fortified their tree house and makes people retreat from their attacks by throwing things at them.
Belonging stays with the flight spirits, they only wanted to eat dinner.
Dream skaters attack with the super sharp ice skates, and yet I goes in with tackles and fists.
Tlp is far too hidden and far too insane, nobody even knows they exist so they weren't invited.
Sanctuary spirits have the light creatures drop people into traps they can't escape from. Ever.
And that's it
*intimately feeding a fish head to can-
WAIT, I CAN FINALLY SHARE MY MEMES PROPERLY!!!!!!
Brb
If all food absorbed is light, belonging ancestor making a specific type of food implies that the foods still differ in taste, texture, or some other way. It would also imply that the ingredients are all light and all of the food is illusionary. UNLESS
All food appears, tastes, and smells identical to ours on the surface, the only way it differs is how it’s digested. It gets turned into its purest component form, pure Light, in a system vaguely analogous to our digestive system. This would also imply that literally everything in the world is made out of light to some capacity, since it would all have to be in order to make foods from different ingredients
Cannoneer: Uhh... Is Angler trying to seduce me with a fish head?
Angler: No.
Abyss Guide: Yes.
yee, their descent and ascension is becoming an actual rule, like with the lightseeker guy
but-
WAIT
GUYS
DOES THAT MEAN GRANNY, LIGHTSEEKER, AND THE BLOOM TREES ARE CANON?????
DJDJDJJDJDHD
FRUITY WHAT DO WE DO WITH THIS INFO THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING
Of course Granny is canon how dare you doubt her! For shame!
nooo, their visits to us
Reading over my food theory, I’m going to adapt it to “literally everything living is made out of light” because I can’t think of anything we humans normally eat that doesn’t come from or is made out of something living to some extent.
This would probably mean that ancestors could or would not drink water
Ooh! This is an interesting idea
I imagine there would be have to be limits to what a skid could absorb though. Wouldn’t it be harder to absorb a huge cake vs a small piece, right?
"literally everything is made of light"
i have converted someone yes aha
something something flesh-to-light ratio of ancestors
THIS WAS THE PLAN
I CAN FINISH THE ANATOMY DOC FOR SKIDS AND ANCESTORS IF THIS WORKS
CLAYSHELL TIME
My perception was that the abyss spirits would technically win since first and second place consecutively got banned for magic abuse. After the enchantment spirits got banned, the abyss spirits couldn’t prove themselves further, since due to abuse of firework spells by the angry enchantment spirits the arena immediately blew up
Side note about everything living being made of light. I have to wonder how that would work for plants and mushrooms - why don’t they recharge our light? Maybe the trees in forest are dead, but what about the grass in prairie?
Light is a component of everything, but not everything has enough light that your sky kid can draw on it. Like water. Humans are made of like 70% water but u can't drink us
yee i was simply gonna say it doesnt have strong enough of a presence/output lol
Also does this mean that dark creatures are fundamentally aberrations instead of natural because all the light inside them was replaced by corrupted light
corrupted *light, as per my theories about glowing krill/spider/levi/crab eyes that i was able to deduce with al's palette concepts
Maybe its not enough light
Ah yes, glorious 2's day
Nope, that is not 2's day. Its got a 0
WAIT IM DUMB!!!!
I AM SOOO SOOOORRRYYYYYYY
Y’all gonna be alive in 200 years?
I thought u were the biggest killjoy alive Esther lol
My current concept for krills: a massive light conglomerate such as an elder creature or coelacanth that became corrupted due to [whatever process is used to make and power darkstone]. The souls making up the conglomerates have been separated by the darkness corruption, but are trapped within the massive cage of solidified darkness, constantly searching for light to burn away their outer shells so that they can be free. Their original consciousnesses, personalities, and identities are being slowly sapped away by the darkness leeching away what’s left of their light, leaving only their recent memories and a constant animalistic desire to escape
Of course I am. I'll be head of a civilization based around a single star that fell from space and gave plenty of amethyst, calcite, and quartz enough to build the physical kingdom.
I've definitely killed joy..........
haven't we all, at one point or another. Either way I hadn't meant that in a negative, 'you upset me' way so you're golden
Remember that fic-verse I mentioned. Yup, that's only a small portion of what I've done.
My skyfics are 75% angst
oh sweet baby jesus
All y'all over here in angst city meanwhile I'm in 'happy joy zone'
I'm pretty sure I'm just projecting a bit of my own trauma onto these without realizing it.
There’s joy in my fics
I mean I have like next to 0 angst in mine, not that y'alls are full angst
I do not have a sky fic just a mental idea of how the world works. But you’re right, my headcanon is a good 90% angst
My sky kids don't be losing their limbs and crying tragically as their friends become fallen, cursing their endless loop of existence
Nobody loses limbs in my fic. They just get completely shattered
Mine have very happy parts to them, I just decided not mention them because its not much if an interesting topic when you also have pure trauma.
I didn't say y'all didn't have happy parts in y'alls fics
.............
You are far more tame than I am.
Oh my original stories are much more gruesome
Sky: This game is supposed to feel hopeful
Fanbase: pain and death and blood and sorrow
gestures at sky lore shrouded in darkness
Ok, cool
I'm talking present tense though. And I also can't go too far because its sky children of the light. Where as for my original ideas.......... Well thats just off topic now actually.
so what lore were we discussing?
I'm in favor of discussing 'how does megabird taste' lore
Im going to listen to music.
Spicy
Maybe the ancestors where draining the light from the light creatures, turnjng them dark. I mean the seaskn of Abyss did have 2 tubes that literally kept light creatures trapped in for who knows how long. Experiments maybe 🤔
What?!
A shattered limb is still a non-functional limb
i'm talking whole bodies
there's a thing I scribbled down earlier that's adjacent to my main Skyfic that I thought lorechat would appreciate.
plot context: Amander, one of my Sky OCs, tells the Commodore their age. the Commodore is taken aback by this info and rounds the crew to really drill it into their heads that these skykids are much younger than they let on (this would be after the first three Abyss quests).
names context:
Boatswain – Sig
Abyss guide – Marrun
Commodore – Fritjof
OH. OUCH.
Also, nice fic. Do you have Ao3?
theyre solidly going with a theme that spirits can return to be among the skykids!
lightseekers are showing us what they do, granny is feeding us!
and beyond that, how-could/could the bloom trees really be canon?
why?
do they have a WAFO meaning?
commodore with an accent.......
I have an AO3 but there’s nothing on it yet. I don’t write chronologically so it may be a while before my main skyfic goes up there. When I finish the Valley Elder(s) fic, I’ll post it there.
What is WAFO short for
Wait And Find Out
The Bloom trees... Hmmm... Events have dubious canonicity but since they're not in Office I PERSONALLY consider the Bloom trees as canon
As for what exactly they are...
What if there are spirit(s) trapped in the trees?
this is so good wth
or home, home is dubious as well
also maybe, but they don't look like darkness growths, just weird light plants
Sig
Sig killed people?!
Maybe they're something significant to someone's wish, just like those projections of objects spirits want.
They’re scavengers living in a post-apocalyptic landscape. People do things out of desperation.
Boatswain (Sig) has killed people. So has the Commodore (Fritjof) and the Cannoneer (latter kinda liked it tho).
Fair enough.
and then Cannoneer Cackles off the evidence
Fun fact: Sig’s full name is Siggonsiyo
I’ve been calling them “spirit trees” cos they got that same starry texture as the spirits do.
From where
I made it up. Same with Marrun (Spanish for “sea” + run to sound more Nordic).
I named one of the Abyss crew Vidar. Look that one up and let me know which of the crew that is
hmm maybe, they have similar bodies to cosmic mantas, which are dubious in... well, being real
however they also have similar bodies to another form of light plant, the light mushroom/bloom, so it could go either way
personally i [want to] think its the latter, i think it's a real light tree, and the lightseeker, even being just a spirit, does actually collect light from it somehow, some way, for some reason
if the latter would be the case, then i think the spirit is just doing that for fun to show us skykids something cool
(bro that's like picking an apple and not eating it cos ur a ghost stop wasting lightfood lightseeker)
.
now that i think about it al, ur right tho
it has the exact texture roll a spirit has
hmm.....
....spirit... tree? lol
the dead spirit of a dead light plant
C..can I get your fic please
It’s beautiful
Yeah, I don't think Lightseeker has a particular use for it
unless they're harvesting the light to pay for their Megabird extended car warranty
I like to think the Lightseekers showed the skykids the purpose and intent of lightseeking before they ascended. They’re back now to show them more
Wait, didn't the concept art of Lightseekers basically imply that they were seeking souls and helping them ascend?
What if that light is the sapling's soul?
It’s not published cos it’s largely unwritten but once I start uploading to AO3 I’ll share it in #promote-your-sky-content
I MADE MY CLASSMATES READ MY VALLEY ELDERS FIC (NOT CLICKBAIT)
Alasdair that happened right?
What’s the fic about?
Identity, self-discovery amid a load of responsibility and expectations, especially when being so different from everyone else
Isn’t that beta? Not allowed to talk about beta stuff outside the beta channels
Oh sorry where’s the beta talk channel
#beta-discussion Unfortunately there is no beta lore discussion
Under the Beta category
oof ok - thank you for not letting me get banned lol

hiya! I cant sleep so I’m thinking about Lore™️ and how close we are to the last Abyss quest aaaa
Is it on the 7th or the 5th?
I’m gonna take so many pictures of the leviathan
and it’s on the fifth! WAIT NO seventh
i wonder what that blue glow is coming from inside the buildings
Darkstone residue
kinda looks like the point of a darkstone crystal, or maybe the spirits
to me it looks more like a glow, especially the one in the actual building
Who here was the one that wrote about manta death?
What if, the ancesters were getting darkstone from manta as an alternative to mining (that or as an addition)?
salem was the one who was driven crazy by manta skeletons, and i think theyre asleep rn lol
Alright.
Baudshaw too, right?
I'll wait to see when they are online to ask if they might have anything that can add to the hypothesis.
I think it might be marking where spirits are then
i mean since mantas are much closer to being confirmed to be put into machines that drain the lifeforce from them, we're a lot more confident that they're a part of the process
the materially is found naturally mined as a rock called "Darkstone"
Salem calls the temples and factories 'refineries', so i've always assumed the darkstone gets 'refined' into "Power Diamonds" somehow
I dont necessarily remember the evidence behind that atm
and since the mantas are always caged inside the temples and factories, it's been assumed that they are needed for the refinement process somehow
I do and waonder why a material had to be caged.
Which led to butterflies or manyas being used.
I wanted to ask if they might have common proof or evidence that might tie into the hypothesis about whether manta would eat darkstone that once naturally existed in the ground.
Because if they have, it would make sense to why killing mantas would produce darkstone.
Which also ellaborates on the 'refining' process.
