well we can try make a balance point of light and dark, right? like you know a yin yang
But that means letting your people suffer, and you're the Ruler, chosen by the Light, how can you let them suffer?
i know, i know, but we need think what can be the future of this, what is the way the devs are thinking about the story, but yeah, idk if they think about the michael bay way
(BTW I think you're right, darkness is natural, but when you're trying to lead the Light side, any hurt caused by the dark is hard to say "it's all in balance")
The main issue is containing light and not letting it be free
The problem is is there an ethical way to obtain light from living creatures and nature without having to harm them and thus reduce natural light flow
Sometimes you just have to let go, maybe death is a natural part of life
And how would we do that with the Eden crystal containing all the light that was stolen?
Yes this is true
But that also means you live in a country where power outages come every 5 minutes
Yep, it's hard not to strive against things that make us uncomfortable
this is starting to look like a meeting of so much sky philosofers and thinkers, thinking about how solve the world
Exactly my point
Its hard
it's interesting how talk about past it's more calm than talk about future
Honestly, short of treating that like a nuclear core, and burying it far away and letting the Light ebb out naturally as you let the rest of the light cycle continue it's way, it'd be a tough call for "the last city" of the ancestors
And its why I think destroying the crystal is a crazy idea, I mean don't crazy ideas sometimes end up working?
Theres a lot of political discourse nowadays in my country irl so forgive me if i project what ive read sometimes
Its a crazy idea alright
Then again if a nuclear reaction happens then uh oh well…
Nah its all good sometimes people dont like crazy ideas but it was just a thought that popped in my head
Tbh I'd be surprised if you couldn't put a political, personal, philosophical, emotional, and several other layers onto the story as a whole
the past is the ice of the mountains, the present is a river and the future look like clouds, maybe by that the debate of the future looks a little bit hot or warm because we are becoming into cloud to sky to fall on present?
I mean how would we know if its gonna work or not
Just gotta give it a try
Yeah season of oppenheimer is gonna go hard🔥
Time lines Marty!
i just can imagine the face of devs or mods of tgc reading us
Life imitates art and vice versa as they say
Or shepherds... Oh wait
Wait quick question what do shepherds do again i forgot
Heard manatees from what I've seen
Ok but like on discord
idk, how they react if we predict some of their ways, if they gonna use our ideas or if they are scared of how the idea of fix the crystal end on openheimer
Sorry was trying to find the link
#faq message
In my case I am a moderator, just not on Discord, but the YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook group
Ooo I haven't seen how to get there yet
anyway, what you think it's more probable they make use fix the crystal or they make us explode the crystal?
Re: this
If there was an ethical way, they couldve done it a long time ago
Obviously it didnt because look what we have now
There may have been but given the totalitarianism only Resh essentially could moderate that
Depending on his moral compass and sound of mind i dont know if he wanted to be ethical in the first place and instead just get the job done
In my episode theory
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
I put that the steward probably understands the Crystal, doesn't go anywhere near it (at least when it's about to go boom), but gets far enough away to found Aviary for a brief time until Steward and the other guide spirits are husk'd.
Ingame, I would love to explore Eden in it's prime, but other than understanding what the Crystal does, and maybe using it to heal some sick ancestors, I don't think we are going to be doing anything to it.
With the armies of guards the Ruler has on hand, I doubt they'd let a kid who they jail for doing some emotes to the guards near the thing.
Was the Eye of Eden Crystal man made or natural made and a large group of minors mined it out?
On top of that there is no need to do anything about it
Everyones dead. Its a dead country.
well we are talking about the present crystal not the past crystal XD
Theoretically ancestor made, from large crystal deposits like those in Prairie Peaks
From the mural we see in stewies hideout (in game) in the 1st chapter, didn't it show the ancestors (probably a much older generation) get light through candles? Maybe getting the knowledge to getting light this way was lost throughout the years
Idk I'm not too brainy for lore everyone
all of the idea of fix or destroy start as a teory about the future and how we can theorically fix eden on the present
This is the mural im talking about
Thats a good idea and it would definitely be an ethical source
But for ginormous issues of systematic darkness the amount of candles in the kingdom wont nearly be enough i think
Oh that, at this point probably shepherding lights through Eden trying to restore the natural Light cycle until the Crystal kinda ebbs out all of its light, though it's already been doing it for around 500 years, and still seems pretty strong, why did whatever sent Us skykids down at this point, rather than later, or earlier?
Earlier may have been too deadly, later, who knows, maybe worse as the light cycle is all backed up
Yep its good but it can only go so far
then explode it maybe isn't the solution, overcharging just make it more stronger
fix it isn't a full solution too
Good point
The way I see it is only 1 candle (on the far right) is lit, and that seems to be from the pipeline of "motes" of light above the ancestors, where one section of the pipe breaks away and touches the candle
we need accelerate the turn off to destroy it
Hell, if the Vault Elder sent her own civilians to a dangerous war zone (season of enchantment
) to supposedly find a cure for darkness (which would have been a terrible idea since she essentially sent them to die. ) and was THAT desperate, theyve exhausted everything theyve done at that point
Unless again theyve volunteered. In the US irl civilian volunteers could do that
Well if we were sent down to bring the spirits back but not restore Eden back, why are we still reborn again everytime? Its like something wants us to go back and figure out
This lore has been so nourishing to my brain since it reminds me of keeping up with irl news too
Summer break shut off my brain for some time
and the semester doesnt start for another month
maybe because we don't save all spirits, and need to save all to destroy the crystal and reset the planet
They could equally be independent merchants on the ark, as we have a carpenter, and farmer on there too, but I do like the idea that it was a colonisation effort, it even has a route via wind paths to Aviary too.
Colonization effort could be true but i just think its a support opps kind of thing
I mean Vault has very smart people. Smart people win wars
Or greedy take your pick
But how can that be possible if we bring the spirits to orbit and give our light to the statues?
How many more spirits are still left in Sky? How many more are still trapped in the world of Sky?
Maybe it's just that the Light cycle needs to continue, if it does naturally, it keeps feeding the Storm (Eden), so we just have to keep up the sisyphean task of guiding the Lights back to orbit to avoid getting trapped within the Crystal or Void
But it drives to the point someone can go insane and seeing the same repeating cycle like an immortal
idk, thousand? millions? idk if collaboration spirits can count for the light, the collabs are spirits of other worlds
There is a pretty fun way of putting an "internal history" to the "external history" of devs season updates, and that is that as we continue to do Eden, and save more spirits, the darkness gets balanced back, and opens more of the realms to us.
Sisyphean, exactly, we are a force of nature
yeah, idk, i want see if we can terraform or skyform eden back
What’s the lore we’ve gotten from the two embers so far?
caelumform maybe?
I need Boatgirl to check my Latin
So much to answer and yet mysteries unsolved of the world of Sky....
we all are alef, maybe and this sisyphean chore is our punishment maybe
Maybe Steward used to sell toy crabs
i like toy crabs but why them have claws, and modern don't have claws?
And none with bells on their heads yet...
how can be a chocolate made of sky light?
exist desserts on the world then can exist chocolate right? or is a sweet only for the dark creatures?
Bell crabs!
i want one as pet
idk, why i'm thinkin on the idea of tgc adding pets to sky or the capacity of tame creatures after two embers and the space of decore our pets, then the bell crabs are pet crabs with bells, then maybe the bell crabs are crabs which can help you the stun the normal crabs, or like that
idk, i studied game design and can be a fun mechanic have pets on sky
anyway can have a interesting impact on the lore idk and work as a soft auto honk on crab zones
I need it
Wait this actually makes the most sense
We are the same creature and its punishment for ancestral sins
when i read sisypho then i think on that a one creature fragmenten on so much kids, a new race of creatures then, all skykids are the fragments of and ancient sinner become into so many kids so many royal kids, so many kids punishet to clean their sins of past
our heaven is his hell and way to live, and maybe the new way to get happiness
Megabird saying "tidy your room young man" to Resh
"OK mom" splits into millions of parts
Does vault elder remind anyone else of blue diamond
I outgrew steven universe several years ago and i kinda dont like it much anymore but i saw some similarities
Ayin is Ayin and Daleth used to have a child
Ok I keep seeing people say Megabird and idk what that is
See panels 1 and 5, they're above us in Orbit, and you can also see them if you honk in the Blue Bird area, and in the credits

HONK

Why is it called megabird. It doesn't look like a bird
if you don't want to do your chores copy your parent's state/method of existence
LMAO
Im loving the fact that her yelling is just BIG GLOW MEGABIRD
Megabird
oh that. that is STUNNING
https://www.facebook.com/reel/442335495496399
It was from one of the dev histories TGC made
Wait is this kingdom one big planet…
Part of one planet, yeah
it is on a planet
Oh so
Its similar to being a country on earth
Does this mean there are other countries
But I guess not so far as Eden isn't over the horizon
Except maybe Isle, but I think that's more the cloud cover
Im just wondering if the king had foreign aid
Other countries in sky with different cultures and realms OMG I am bustling with questions and theories right now
Ah ok i thought it was the whole entire planet
So there probably are other nations
were
Have the devs ever said anything about adding new realms or nations?
Like whether is a possibility or not?
probably not
Nah but itd be cool
I wonder if the rest of the world would look like GW or Isle
This was the other "Megabird" image I was trying to find from the art gallery in forest
I've been laughing at this for a full minute
I think Eden exploded cause Resh forgot to turn the giant oven off
Oh no
Resh: done with my room, wait was there something I forgot? Oh right the ove-
explosion
Everyone died
The end
He was baking chocolate chip light cookies but they went boom and now there’s chocolate chips (winglights) all over the kingdom
He left his bugatti running
Hehe when you awaken a spirit it’s just
🎶I WOKE UP IN A NEW BUGATTI🎶
Forest Elder: Resh what did you do this time?
Resh: I left the oven on, I was gonna make something for the celebration of you being a year older
Forest: Aww thats so sweet of you, IF YOU DIDNT LEAVE THE OVEN ON! You are grounded for eternity young man!
Resh: yes mother, sorry mother
the planet in sky seems to have a problem with rising water levels as shown with aurora and abyss with what little ocean level landmass (isle, wasteland etc.) that is not flooded is almost inhabitable making them avoid it causing most ancestors to migrate higher up into the unique high altitude landmasses of the sky kingdom + the huge population in valley makes me think most of the planet resembles isle, GW is just isle but polluted
i’d consider the sky kingdom the most prominent landmass in its residing planet due to the existence of eden, there may be other countries but probably much smaller in size and power (maybe the enchantment spirits are foreign?)
Probably yeah
But does anyone else
Yeah i thought I was the only one who saw it
Both sad tall ladies, both beautiful
they're shaped similarly
Yellow diamond and blue diamond
Holy crap it makes sense
thats deep fam
WHAT 😭
what
ancestors in sky would literally dig out mountains and build in extremely steep terrain (not to mention the cold) than live in the sandy plains of wasteland….. maybe ocean level just too salty?
prairie seems like the perfect place to live but it seems like land is a rarity there so maybe its largely reserved for agricultural activities
why are some crabs different colors?
Now i wonder what kind of teachings the Elders taught Alef when he was growing up
Trials seem kind of like cruel and unusual punishment so... idk... I am assuming Dawn seemed rather good with kids... I am not sure about the others
The prophets certainly didn’t seem ‘kind’ in the modern empathetic sense. They definitely did care though.
All of the Elders, too, likely cared a great deal.
About what it means to ‘Care’, though, remains to be seen
🕯️
I mean I didn't say they didn't care. You can care a great deal, still be stuck with difficult decisions, and make cruel decisions. I don't mean to say they are horrible or not empathetic... but alslo that like... wasn't it assumed that the Prince would die in the trials? Or am I misreading that?
that can explain the king of the zone of 9 colour deer
ooooh collab room in Vault not just used for collabs but also other parts of the world we can't fly to easily would be neat...
anyway on all parts we can see eden, and that can give use 2 ways or eden it's a flying castel like "lapu**" sorry its a bad word on spanish the name of that castle or some of that kingdoms are so close to our kingdom
It seems like Forest Elder taught different things to Alef which gave him ideas that weren't good for the future of the kingdom and eventually backfire and lead to disaster
How do we get to the castle oob?
Well ok im at the oob rn but im trying to find the building
I know how to get there just not how to do the oob itself lol
Can you dm?
Actually ill try with trial and error
I think, at least narratively, the Sky landmass is the only one that exists in the world. It makes sense for everything to be interconnected, instead of strange foreign places that wouldn't fit into the lore of Sky.
It would be the same as having an 8th realm, or a third ember.
Also, backreading this was very fun, I like how people were discussing how to save the Sky world
It was a very interesting topic to see people talk about
Teth (Forest) a bird cause blue bird and lots of birds there
if you want chat more about my ideas of save the world you are invited to dm me or pass me code on dms to talk about it on sky too, can be fun talk while exploring the world
i want learn more at same time i do theories are fun uwu
Im in the new area right now and i swore i heard what sounded like a missile? I turned off the music too
What does that mean
This is such a wild and interesting theory tho!!
could be the womb for creatures to be born, maybe this could also explain why they recharge us
Lol
bot muted my message
I said it was a krill f@/rt
LMAO
||Sorry for the ping, but now that I think about it, The Candle is a much more tragic-sounding song than the Orbit songs. The Orbit songs sound divine and majestic, while the Candle sounds very tragic.||
I reached rhe oob btw
Did the Ancestors disintegrate into light when they passed away peacefully like light creatures do, or did they leave something behind to be buried? The tombstones give the idea that they left something behind, but ancestors are light creatures with spirits of light as much as your general manta and under the sway of the reincarnation cycle as much as the next guy.
From what i understand, light creatures only leave remains when they are taken before their time, like the whale graveyards, with the whales being harvested for light energy.
Well, look at the darkness plants and corpse in the spirit memories. That's probably what they've left behind.
And what about those spirit mantas in Vault? There is the remains of a young manta skeleton and when we get the spirit manta call a young manta appears
I mean, that vault level is related to Valley, and valley did hunt mantas-
Also one of the spirits is named memory whisperer
I don't get what's weird about it? im not talking or asking for a 8th realm, but the likes of cresent oasis or prairie peaks, places far away and long forgotten
personally i think there are far away isolated societies (that probably are dead like the sky kingdom) as aurora and dawn ember shows there are plenty of migrants into the kingdom
gameplay wise its also a great way to introduce new cultures into sky
Right I also think a lot about Dune specially when it comes to the emotional turmoils faced by both protagonists
Also Crescent Oasis (9 colored deer area) gives such Dune vibes, and GW Harkonnen land fr
Nevermind not a missile it was jsut wind sounds
I was going insane
I think immigration is extremely important for any nation
This kingdom had good immigration too imo
Im with you on this one but them not being part of the Sky mainland would be like other worldly beings that can come into the world of Sky through portals, like Moomin's, LPP, Aurora and Alice.
Otherwise they are just part of Sky, residing in areas unknown to us
I ignore other collab seasons besides maybe aurora
Theyre just 💸💸💸💸
You could, but what I mean is that even if there are ancestors that came from beyond the places we know, it doesnt mean they are not part of the kingdom
Fair enough
So I saw this guy next to the catapult in wasteland
Could this be the scarred sentry?
||you can manually turn off the ping before sending message||
Woah wait has it always been there this whole time?????
that guy is old light awaits asset
they are also wearing actual plate armor
it's a guard
So it’s probably not
First comes it being there the whole time, second comes the relevance, with something completely new and unrelated that COULD be the old thing.
Do we have any other unaccounted for guards we would rather have it be? I doubt.
https://youtu.be/YMUWxAVj9K4?list=PLKh97ggSLvdxTgYWBAUO7V_Zd4d0Yc1Ad&t=454
here is the asset in action from old archive footage from tara
Aww the old colliseum (you can still visit it when going valley elders oob)
is there theory on why the light is being pipe into the vault yet >
There is even semi functioning constellation table (it only shows interact icon and does jingle when clicked, thats all)
the old sliding race brings me tears.... its so steep and dramatic
To power up the giant darkstone crystal in eden (the same one you see shattered in shard memories and pnr)
and the purpose for that ?
Energy
huh so just energy condense in one place?
Think of it as energy generator
i think its purpose will be revealed with the animation
Darkstones were generally used as batteries to power up basically everything in kingdom, you can see them everywhere in the game
or to be exact pipes are to power the stuff in eden but it seems like the king is directing all energy towards the giant crystal for some unknown purpose
Not me suddenly having an au idea of Stewie and Alef meeting and growing up together, considering each other as siblings
Excuse me while I just

I have a "who is this pokemon?" type of situation in the Last City
What's that meam?
Pipes in the art book are for getting all the toxic sludge stuff away. The toxic stuff is "from over mining" it said.
yeah some pipes in GW are obviously drainage, but the ones going towards eden are "power lines" as shown in the animation
Here
who's this??
he was just there staring at the wall
A bug or alrernate version of resourceful recluse stored for some cutscene, models used for cutscenes are usually stored out of sight/underground
We see them contain light in the movie
I think there's like two pipe systems. One for sending energy/light to the eden diamond and one to spew out drainage, possibly caused by the overproduction of darkstone
Makes sense
And yeah I have seen that in oob
You should've seen some of the messages two days ago but Resh is more morally grey and his alignment is lawful evil which in my opinion I don't consider as evil in a full story sense.
Taken from one of my previous messages from a Reddit post about lawful evil:
A lawful evil villain methodically takes what they want within the limits at their code of conduct without regard for whom it hurts. They care about tradition, loyalty, and order but not about freedom, dignity, or life. They play by the rules but without mercy or compassion. They are comfortable in a hierachy and would like to rule, but are willing to serve.
Nonetheless Resh is still the villian/antagonist in TTE but in-game he poses no such role. They are still one in the same but since he doesn't show up it doesn't count. He's more like a character who haunts the narrative game wise lol.
Insert the meme gif of the guy talking to the wall
Today's Art of Sky gallery is a very informative experience for the lore moffs here
Both galleries are documented here
#lore-discussion-spoilers message #lore-discussion-spoilers message
I'm glad you're checking it out, one of my favorites from skyfest! 🩵
I did it the last time it happened, and agreed, it was lovely
Understandable, it's a good place for moffs
putting it here because both galleries are very connection heavy and might not load on some devices, heck even i had to wait a bit and open the gallery in parts for it to load properly and i have middle-end pc and router right next to me
Yeah, they take a while to load because of connection. I remember not being able to see the art gallery the first time last year and this year the history museum took like 30 minutes to load in one small section. I'm glad you screenshotted all of them, makes it easy for people to reference later.
Which reminds me I would have two nickels from referring to the "Sacrifice" pictures lol.
I have no doubt that Light is being transported to Eden, likely often through piping systems, but I personally am not 100% sold on the Light we see in the underground room being intentionally transported by the Ancestors.
Light already moves towards the mountain, as evidenced by the mural in the same episode, which reference the streams of Light that travel along the Cycle. It does not need to be forced by the Ancestors to move upwards towards the mountain.
Unless, the Ancestors are using that fact to their advantage, directing the Light streams through tight passageways right into their cold machine-loving hands.

But still, the holes and ruined state of the pipes make me question if directing Light was the intentional reason for their construction. Hopefully, the answers will be revealed in time, maybe even this next chapter in a few days!

True that
but I dont think he was really like that
at least not as a start
I'm hoping to know who created them! Getting more excited for the next chapter
It's implied Alef wasn't evil so I would hope so lol.
The infrastructure is really interesting in Sky, the way Vault and Eden are built on top of each other and the pipes go in TTE/new season area is really interesting I will say.
maybe the pipes also go for cooling and other materials?
Like a ventilation and mailing system? <_<
skids doing skydiving in mailing tubes fr
i wish we could explore tubes
LOL
yo ugo close to one and get sucked in like flomp
Now I'm really glad Sky Kids weren't in the same era...
considering how fast that one exposed pipe with lights were in the show, definitely go flomp
hyperspace simulator
That would be me
I already use the Eden mountain as my sandboard challenge
For a second I thought you meant post Eden and was like oh wow same lol
I'm glad people are having fun up there though
Okay correct me if I'm wrong, but is city we see in Chapter 1 of Two ember called Last City because it is the last standing bastion in that current era and all of the other realms have been consumed by the dark storm?
Just wanna share my observation because we didn't really see any sun and the whole city is lit up by the light in Eden.
Yes, the other realms are implied to be consumed by darkness. The last area of GW, Vault, and Eden are the "final" areas of the era depicted in the film.
This is pre-shattering era, so suffice to say they are doomed lol.
Now I kinda get why Jenova said the story of Two Embers is kinda dark (both literally and figuratively
)
I'm guessing that Resh is using the light creatures and sick people to fuel the light that's keeping the darkness at bay. Just chuck them right into the furnace to keep it lit.
Light creatures have been used as a light source, yes (as depicted in Abyss murals). We have yet to see the same for the people though. :v
Yeahh, I can already tell that this story doesn't have a good ending. But I hope they show us why the dark storm came in the first place
Seeing that all the ancestors die. I think Steward will have to destroy the Eden light and let the darkness consume them
The game showcases that the darkness came when they took the light for granted as seen in the introduction dialogue:
The stars were once united and our light was infinite.
The first of us descended to build a Kingdom in the clouds.
But we took our light for granted... and in shadow, we withered away.
A long time has passed. Now, you bring us hope.
Go forth child. Return your light to our fallen stars.
Eons before Resh was brought in a ruler, they would worship it. But eventually things evolved and changed, light was converted into a energy source and put into darkstones. It helped them advance as a civilization. However by doing this and by using The Eden King's shard, things became worse. People became infected by darkness, turning into the husks (like we see ingame) or got shards on their bodies (like in TTE).
I think the oob I think you're referring to ||(the building where the water from the pool drains people's light)|| is technically spoilers so we have to 🧇 for that information to be confirmed or denied. It'll be pretty dark if it did though
I doubt the ending will be a "bad" ending but moreso a bittersweet one that will showcase the history of its world.
Also the shattering memories show that the shard got overloaded and the Elders (along with Resh and maybe Stewie) tried to stop it but it backfired and now the shard we see in Eden is running rampant.
I personally do not think the OOB area is a siphon for sick people.
"we have to pancake for that information?"
Edit- ah
Waffle means "wait and find out" it's a coined term in the server. (if you do !wafo you can see what I mean)
Also I didn't mention any oob, I was just speculating what I think is happening. If you think it's a spoiler then does that mean I'm right??
OOP eve xD
The area itself a spoiler, that's what I was mentioning
I saw once that theory based on that oob, I'm not actually confirming anything since I don't think that theory might be true. Just honestly thought you were mentioning it though
yes we are gonna have pancake party while waiting, do you want marmalade or nutella on it?
I want the flour
Why just flour?
Gosh I wish it's the 4th week already. I wanna watch the whole part 1 so bad.
Me and my friends were so disappointed last time because we thought we're gonna get a 20 minute episode, no it was barely 15
we all crashed out
I think we all want the full chapters to be released, but it also means that we have to painfully wait for part two. Hopefully they'll balance out the last episode that was barely 14 minutes and release a longer one
Why would they re-release 1? <_<
No I mean like release the new chapter that isn't cut to 12-13 minutes for a cliffhanger
Oh I misunderstand that message so bad, but we'll see I guess. I do think 13 minutes is odd considering we were kinda given a estimated time for the whole thing (though that def can change). I'm guessing pacing wise they put it that way and another episode could be a few minutes longer or shorter because of that.
Like a nuclear plant?
It has been explained under it
Idk why this remember me to gwyn of dark souls
To be fair he has a some similarities with Resh which isn't surprising to me since I also thought he was like the Blighted Lord from Ender Lilies. :v
Can you imagine a season of dark souls or season of eden ring, and on elden ring a spear of light or like that based on sky?
Maybe using that world to explain some of the lore of this world
Like a collab season? Not really.
Can be fun idk, a dark world having similarities to a light world, dark and light are two side of one coin are more similars than we think
The shattering group area is like that though? Also just general void areas are like a dark world that to be frank. I don't think adding a season is gonna help others understand the lore better since not everyone plays Dark Souls. It's a neat idea conceptually but it's too violent compared to Sky's gameplay.
You know what would be funny? Undertale collab
LUCA DONT GET ME STARTED
PLEASE THE STORY IS ALREADY SOMEWHAT SIMMILAR
You could make so many cool items and IAPs for that. Also the story would not be that hard to translate into Sky.
Resh and Flowey have stuff in common
Resh = God of hyperdeath
Alef = Asriel
Nah if it's with a Toby world need be deltarune not undertale
Im calling it now, iaps are temmie plush and annoying dog head accesory
Deltarune manages more the themes of light and dark than undertale
Undertale is more iconic and with common story to sky
They could make the flowey dancing merch into a prop
Mmmm toriel wings
All dreamurr bloodline manages fire magic, and maybe grilbis
Tbh sans mask would be terrifying, imagine lighting someone and seeing this but in 3D
HEHHHEHE
If you have a sans mask, the krills get scare from you XD
Wait would that make Stewie Chara then cuz we would be Frisk
This can became a new au of UT XD Skytale: children of the evod
Im very sure it already exists
owl house collab would also work but thats disney unfortunately
Really? I hear about outertale on the past but not a skytale
Why not Winnie the pooh?
I saw couple of fabarts of ut characters in sky and viceversa
There has been art of AUs with those. I've seen people give Sans sky capes and stuff :v
Winnie start as a book and If I don't remember bad it's public now
Winnie pooh is public domain
The original book got in public domain yes, however the movies and Disney branded stuff is not.
Then why not use the version of the books?
🤷 If you're fine with that sure but it's TGC's design at the end of the day who they collab with.
Yeah, can be fun they are reading this and thinking on the idea of darlsouls
Maybe for October
Speaking of the undertale collab idea though, it'd be cool if they would make items from th ingame ones you get like the weapons and armor you get.
The toy knife
More thinking of like the manly bandanna or heart locket but sure. Also the cloudy glasses, need more glasses options!!
highly doubt we will get knife in game with this low age rating
sky is like 6+ iirc
Faster plaster mask with the power of shoot to the krills lasers
Wow, sending children to the death each Sunday. Preferably after the 8 am mass at church xd
man, forest looked way more foresty in light awaits
Going to Eden is my Sunday ritual thank you very much
there were even some smaller trees
Oh man. Forest rn looks more like a park than a rainforest (there are boreal rainforest too! Not just the tropical ones)
Or maybe the players and spirits was more big
They weren't
ooh so this is what used to be in that one empty room huh, it looks a bit creepy ngl
Manta sausage stuffer?
I'll never get over how friend constellations used to be shrines instead, the home area used to look like a graveyard in light awaits
Fitting
Heck even falling into Isle of Dawn had dark bodies around you, was short lived though.
Even more fitting
Sad that that stuff didn't make it live tbh, tgere were some nice concepts
Like that Maya wheel or like that
also can i just say that i LOVE how ice rink looked in light awaits???? like hello??? i would go absolutely ham with camera here
Eh I'm glad it changed. A lot of it was either "dark" or wasn't really manageable to play concetually, very early build stuff. For example, in order to light friends like in the constellations, you had to manually go from each friend shrine. Another is Eden had you lose "emotes" instead of WL since WLs weren't added yet.
oh yeah the infamous candle space lol
Hmm yeah alright that doesn't sound too playable
but man, can we get this atleast in the movie? im obsessed, i have been trying to get to the buildings in races for so long and this is simmilar
also to make it more megabird connected - bird statues opened constellations
not a fan of the old slope between social area and ice rink but the old sliding race reminds me so much of journey
Old home with friend shrines lol
Aww the bird statues is so cute 🥺
That look so cool, why that can't back?
You mean why don't we have that?
Yes, that shrines look so cool
it looks cool yes but thats where all cool about it ends
It's not practical. Too much stuff in the area overloads things and not to mention lighting them and grabbing the light takes a while.
oh i see, well that have sense, anyway have a little look like a cementery
I will say I love that the evolution of old home had it be where you're in a sea and a island slowly formed underneath as the updates came along.
and after that you can move to a village
here is the same spot in concept art - confirmed in art book #lore-discussion-spoilers message
though important nota about this is that it was eventually used for beta PNR #lore-discussion-spoilers message
a literal cementery
Light Awaits PNR is something else man, love it but oh boy does it give me chills when I first saw it.
ok, this make me feel like a grimm reaper again, on my first days on the game i feel a little like a grim reaper XD
LOL
you talk with spirits and help them to go to the sky, what other thing i can think? have ancient gods helping them like judges of the zones for the souls
well more like a light reaper, and you can consider the theme of azrael the archangel of death too, and how th sky kid can be looked as an angel
BIRD STATUES
Think you replied to the wrong one xD Luca was showing pics of em
But bird statues prove one thing to me
Prove what exactly? Luca did mention the Megabird. :v
Birb pantheon
Yes indeed my theories are coming true
what theories?
birb pantheon
well the mega bird it's like the god of gods a little bit, like the mother of gods o sky, maybe like gaia, then, alef and resh, as kind and prince are the rulers of elders and elders are like the gods too, maybe a pantheon have sense, anyway what are the god domain of alef and resh? order? light? the cataclism have a little feels like the domain of darkness, well i god of light who can domain the dark, can be pretty powerfull, or maybe on this world both domains are just one uses on a different shape... i love read novels of fantasy and more if are about gods, the idea of divine domains, are so common too, then, how can work your theory?
A "moth" is a new player. They have brown wings, they flap around uncontrollably, and they are drawn to flame!
my theory?
i'm pretty sure it's mostly abt birds being sacred and all
here we go again
Imma be real I didn't understand anything you said. However each realm is a Elder's domain, ergo Eden is Resh's area. <_<
admit you love it
in short - everything is a bird
in long - galaxy will infodump
conclusion birb
infodump is fun sometimes, or maybe we can call it infobirb
infodumb is how i feel when someone tries to explain rules of table game to me
i do a little writting mistake
discord have the same problem of find the correct emoji than sky i really want sometimes find them more easilly, anyway the discord don't have a sky emote for blush?
You mean this one?
We also got
yeah i think on that first than faint but don't feel like the type of blush i think, i think more like the type of blush of commit a mistake than the type of blush for someone say something cute to you or love

yeah maybe cry can work too
the nonverbal language it's a little bit confuses sometimes
you know I do wish you can still see the door you enter in the Light Awaits PNR but more destroyed in the COTL PNR
begging is pretty good too
can you imagine the next update of village where a school who learns new skykids to use correctly the emojis to speak with others? like a school to learn the good modals and correct way to comunicate with others and the same time use the bow... i think maybe can work to the people use more the bow again
people use bow all the time tho
yeah but on reddit i see so much people talk about the people don't use it, maybe that can calm that guys
You really shouldn't worry about what others talk about too much.
An update like that wouldn't be beneficial because Sky is designed around people expressing themselves however they want, including the given emotes so if someone prefers to use another emote besides the bow one that's perfectly fine.
Good morning chat
ok
why not a update of jobs? hi ayn
I'm glad you brought that up though because I was meaning to make a message/post listing off the body language in Sky. :v
Hi Ayngarp! Btw I saw you respond to me earlier but can I DM you something?
Sure (i hope im not in trouble
)
ok now out of jokes, then what happens if we think about that theory of the krills are clouds?
it makes no sense to me
well have a little more sense to the idea of the krills are whales
Id rather them be an experimentation thing instead of clouds cus thats freaking horrifying

but, maybe can be butterflies, like so many butterflies cover by a new body of solidificated darkness
both are bugs
butterflies in a trenchcoat
That reminds me of that one Ghibli scene I can't quite place...
Oh right Howl's moving castle had a character turn into birds
other idea can be like the children of darkness... idk, like the they are the beta or alfa version of sky kids, like a creation made to make balance the world but where so violent
Im tempted to go get some charcoal pencils and draw resh since his design is simple but aurafarming
i remembered paper dolls from spirited away
OH PROBABLY THAT TOO
god birb first make the demons (krills) anf after that make the angels (skykids)
would be cool for first creatures in general to be shadows from fire trial
maybe have a correlation, are like a gas version of the krills
Exactly now where did this theory begin? It begun with a song that I heard once and this song was talking about the Huma bird or Homay the daughter of the sun and she’s often depicted as a bluebird in some legends that is and she was the inspiration for the play of the bluebird which made me think about the fact that most of the divine beings we see in sky are often depicted as birds. We got the mega bird we have Aurora being first shown to us as a bird and so on so forth and that made me realise how much in Sky is seemingly related to birds, especially in the divine sense which was the foundation of my “birds are the divine” theory
nah i'll stick with undead manta foreva hungry stuff
welcome galaxie
Also the sun is the biggest thing of light and Megabird is essentially that as well and Homay is eerily similar to the bluebird of the play and in sky as it’s said she brings joy and good fortune to those who witness it
And great misfortune to those who capture it and abuse it
sky kids are a creation of megabird and that make our capes look like bird wings, most of our capes are more like bird wings than bug wings... if we thing, the moths maybe are more like chicks than moths
this makes so much sense
Resh’s punishment is a deathloop of his descendants to free the light repeatedly because he abused the light
the color of feather of a bird change so much when grows
He's so insert biblical character core <3
Exactly she was chosen to be king by the bluebird (which Homay does also in legend a lot she makes someone a king by flying over them) and he was fortunate for a long time but once he started abusing his post his favor faltered and Eden which was once paradise crumbled beneath him until the siphon on top shattered
This is what happens when you commit to the grind too hard guys
Your favor with the bluebird drops and she tells her mother Megabird
we back to the sisypho theory and the fragmentated creation of skykids theory
She's so amazing i'm going to die wacthing p1 tte finale
Yep ain’t it great how everything can be connected
we back to "clean your room"
we're not cleaning that room
But the divine bird theory is mine and one of my greatest theories which is seemingly proving to be quite accurate to everything else
Yeah...
idk why i start to imagine a mega krill over the world, who can be the partner of mega bird and making the skykids siblings of the krills
i'd rather have closest thing to darkness being not sentient
because that's what darkness is
if mega bird is the light a mega krill can be the darkness, like the love of gea and uranus or like that the sky and earth, sun and moon, light and darkness with a conflict betweeb the children
Yuhhhh
There is the leviathan (big creature you get swallowed by in Season of Abyss) which is a giant darkness creature.
To me it makes sense that krill and other dark creatures are mindless attacking machines
They were basically stripped of light and what made them whole IMO
All they know is how to eat people
oh that guy, he scared me
Nicknamed Big Bertha
darkness is body light is soul mind is you 😌
then what happens when born a creature of dark and light on a perfect balance?
Well i mean
If ya walk into a house and the lights are off and you turn on the lightswitch, its on. Theres no in between, its either on or off
Yippee
schrodinger's moth
sorry for whale delay, i always forgot to bring camera and last time i completely forgot to go inside to grab that wing lol
if we go with the theory of dark body and light soul, and the theory of the children of dark being the krills, maybe every sky kid its a soul of a krill
they attack us because they are searthing their souls
It’s okay you’re like the backbone of all loreists
skids are resh and aren't at the same time in the best case
this remember me a little bit like nier
i made it on top using antigravity spell, still had no flaps left even with 11 wdges, just to find out whales are super slippery and it is hard to land on them outside the carbon face shield
and there was no good angle for photo anyway
Yep
oh today it's day of whales on sky? i need log today then i love that place
also this is some inception honk
maybe you need be like that to can fly without problems, you know the friction can make you more slow, more with that big body
that has nothing to do with that memory imo, you can land on mantas just fine in manta memory
This is what I’ve accepted as how krill came to be based on all the info here
This made the most sense to me:
Resh was responsible for keeping light circulating in tunnels and into darkstone tech (including that huge eden crystal). Teth would have shown him that especially since she is extremely familiar to dark stone
That being said, he would have had to understand that he needed to obtain light from natural sources to power the kingdom and its technology.
They both would have done experimentation on light creatures to extract their light (never mind how unethical that is because neither of them actually gave a crap) and powered darkstone she showed him. Whats left is a husk of darkness
Thats part of the reason why forest is infested with crabs, but now we go onto Tsadi’s involvement (since krill are infested in GW)
Its known he was done with going with the king’s nonsense eventually but before, when he was somewhat compliant, he could have done the same thing as she (Teth) did in forest with the darkstone. GW is very industrial.
Thus more light creatures revoked of their light and hence mindless attack dragons we deal with in game
Thats what I think tho.
Essientially yes. It's shown in Treasure Reef murals and some concept art that they would experiment on light creatures, mainly mantas. Krills were created accidentally because of that.
Have many ideas, some are:
"Pet revolts"
Just an interpretation, but the quest end shows the "love in the hell/torture" kind of thing.
Darkness is technically a hopeless, discouraging emotions raged with powers of fury or smth like that. We can also interpret that the "Two embers" actually might mean the first "two" sky kids, or any "two" living beings in love or smth. And they are the guiding lights that once guided the slums of the Sky kingdom (that's why they depicted it as "long lost land" or smth, cuz they were the "neglected" ones. It is noted that to us, the sky kids, we are getting lore or story proceeding from the POV of the nobles) . So um... I'm kinda out of ideas since you guys were so so "elite" in lore, and I'm kinda couldn't place any random ah opinions without a solid proof
theres interesting screening in cinema now if you wanna see more concept art ah it seems to have ended already
idk, why read "you guys were so so "elite"" feels strange XD
Referring to Saint's message, Luca.
oh i see the elite part in their message now, i didnt see it before, hence the confusion
Yeah I was too until I rechecked
idk, i don't see the people here like elite guys, i feel like a group of lovers of hystory of videogames talking about their theories about that on this world, but maybe thats how every people who love learns feels when they just meets and start talking about the past of a world or kingdom
this chat ist like the vault of the server
Exactly I just really like theology and mythology and wondered if sky had any close ties with it
Definitely takes inspiration from a lot of things, theology being one of them.
i los hystory, mythology and theology hehe, i love learn and read fiction stories with political, strategic and theogical themes, then, well, be here feels like roleplay a little the role of a historian or like that of sky world, a skykid who love learn and want learn more about the world, anyway exist so many skykids music or with other hobbies
i agree, people here are just interested in the complexities of lore, how many layers of irl ideas and problems inspired the lore of this game, and how it will unravel in the future. It's all just people with such cool ideas
Yeah we’re just the historians and record keepers of sky
maybe the feel of elitism its an ilution make by our love by the history?
That and capitalism i think
I'm quite interested in mythology and psychology in my case
Yeah since it is an academic study there can be a feel of elitism I mean that’s were the genre of dark academia comes from
Yall wanna talk about what they taught in vault of knowledge
People sometimes get discouraged from talking here because the channel goes by pretty quickly and having ideas out in the open can be be challenging. At least that's what I personally think what they meant by "elite".
agree with first part, coming here to 80+ messages from past two hours is bit scary
They likely discussed all things from science, spirituality and history
To be fair, it's a large server so people are bound to talk a lot, even here. :v
I usually stop talking here because I get so intimated by people who seem much smarter than me. Sharing ideas is definitely scary for some
Yeah it took a long time for me to be comfortable with posting my theories
i try to read past messages but lot of time it gets overhelming
did some oob exploration today, and when accessing the market area doing some oob, the door looks different from when you access the market normally
Not only that, but it looks like something out of Journey
at same time most of that message are pretty silly mesage like the moment of think explode the crystal or the clean your room
Luca you should not feel obligated to do that. I'm glad you do but I really think it's not good for you. Again this is just my opinion.
Trust me I’m really stupid sometimes it just happens
everyone can be so silly with some things i think
The memes really balance out the serious and the dark talk in this channel lol
it always pops up whenever
however if there is something you really need answer to from me personally, you can ping me, just please dont do it (timestamps in your local time) between <t:1753394400:t> and <t:1753423200:t> because im sleeping or should be sleeping
It's a zin zang situation, you need to have a balance of dark and light. Same can be said for sad and happy moments or dark and comedy.
I wonder if schools were specialized in there
Kinda like oxford university which has a crap ton of different colleges in it
Vault of Knowledge is religious so I wonder if megabird the deity nebula has been extensively studied there too
Not to mention the sort of things they learn could have helped in war (medicine, architecture, etc)
Despite how unassuming she is Lamed was a valuable asset for war but with Vaults intelligence she also facilitated the damage done by exploiting light and encouraging darkness inadvertently
The most knowledgable are usually the most dangerous
I sometimes post silly threads that are my theories but silly
Yeah, I think it's really unavoidable no matter the fandom
Dont worry gang im lowkey dumb sometimes
I read what everyone else said before i say my thoughts so it feels less intimidating
I don’t know math and physics hurt my brain
i still thinking about the school update, but maybe more to learn more about the history of the world or maybe know that is considered the basic learning on the old era, how was the maths of sky? what was they number symbols
But the moral of the story is that everyone has something their smart at and something their stupid with
so tiny
A tutorial area would be nice I will say. Like how Pokémon schools in the mainline games teach you tips and tricks or the three type advantages. :v
they have 10 fingers as us then they use a decimal system like us?
Yeah I wonder if they had any kings or queens before Resh or any minor countries before the unification under Resh
I do have to remind myself that other's words shouldn't be taken to the heart and theories taken with a grain of salt so I don't get carried away, thank you for the reassurance ya'll
i'm more comfortable sharing theories a lot more
Like I wonder how civilization was before Resh existed cause there clearly was a time before her and I wonder what the kingdom(s) were called if there were any and if there wasn’t any I wonder what the early tribes were like
Curriculum I think they would teach in Vault
- Art
- Language
- Theology
- Medical
- Chemistry
- Engineering
- History
I was thinking that maybe the elders were somewhat guides before they became officially appointed. There might also used to be tribes in the kingdom as well
what about maths? or that is included on engineering?
Included in engineering, math isn't really a field per say
They certainly were guides maybe even minor rulers but I’d like to see what a proper ancestral king or queen would have been and if we’d get to relive their life in the future
I personally don't think there wasn't anyone fully in rule of the kingdom before Resh, however it's interesting to think about!
Resh was def the first and only king, would be interesting if the storm didn't happen. Perhaps that aspect could've expanded.
Oh yes definitely she was the only king under the unified sky kingdom
Im just wondering if there was foreign aid so bad
HOW WAS THE ECONOMY WITHOUT FOREIGN AID
Besides the other realms helping each other, none. 😥
I’m talking about before Resh existed (and hence the sky kingdom) cause there certainly was a population of people in what would become the rest of the sky kingdom before Resh even existed so there could’ve easily been kingdoms that existed before the kingdom of sky
the stones grow under the skin too
Ouch
it must be really painful
He only unified the people into one kingdom there could’ve been others prior to it if not major tribes definitely did that would’ve possibly had tribal kings and queens
Hi lorechat! Quick question, does anyone know how tall an average Skykid is in feet or meters? I’m working on a theory (which I’ll share later!)
Cause there was a time with a population before Resh existed
I think someone mentioned like 3 feet tall lmao
Elders could be rulers before he was crowned
I HAVE A LINK FOR THE HEIGHT THING GIVE ME 30 SECS
more like goverments
#lore-discussion-spoilers message Here check this out, shows the heights of sky kids
It's an interesting history to think about, but currently the game only focuses on what happened when they first saw Alef and what happened during/after Alef/Resh's reign. I think TGC might keep this one open ended for people to think about unless they want to add something to this in the future. Like I said earlier, the elders might have been some guides/authoritative people back before they became elders
They could’ve been yes but there would’ve been more considering all the different tribes there would’ve been like I wonder who ruled the tribe in isles, prairie, Forest etc etc and if we’ll ever get to see the times before Resh existed
🤷 Like eve said it's unclear and we do not know.
Yeah going off of this @midnight sonnet, i think the elders ruled each realm (which could in theory be each country) before Resh unified them into one big nation
Its not uncommon for countries to merge into one before politically (IRL i mean)
Its known that the elders raised Alef (Resh when he was little and fell from the sky as a celestial being) into the king Resh he is today so yeah
the unification remember me to a ruler of history of our world, who unificated his nation
ok not goverment, google says the correct name is regent and regent doesnt rule the same way as king would, they are more like guides which would definitely fit for elders
You've got to be kidding me (saying to myself, not about anyone here)
*When a British monarch is too young to rule, a **regent *is appointed to govern in their place. The regent is typically chosen based on the rules established in the Regency Acts, particularly the Regency Act of 1937.
How a Regent is Chosen:
Line of Succession: The regent is usually a close relative of the monarch, often the next in line to the throne or another senior member of the royal family.
Parliamentary Approval: The appointment of a regent requires the approval of Parliament. If the monarch is underage (typically under 18), Parliament may convene to decide who will serve as regent.
**Specific Provisions: **The Regency Acts outline specific provisions for the regency, including the circumstances under which a regent can be appointed and the powers they will hold.
For example, during the childhood of Queen Victoria, her mother, the Duchess of Kent, served as regent until Victoria turned 18. In modern times, if a monarch were to ascend the throne at a young age, a similar process would be followed to appoint a regent.
Oh shoot youre right
In Resh’s case he was just a kid in the beginning
I wonder who of the ancestors had high positions in those days because i imagine not all the ancestors that we met are from the same time period like i imagine the regular ones we see in the isles of dawn were long gone or elders by the time the great shattering happened
I might sleep rn chat, probably gonna lurk a lil bit before then but it was fun looking at these theories though
Good night and rest well eve!
And I wonder how the early early ancestors lived, the ones prior to the existence of the elders
Yeah one of the very first spirits weve seen (the come here emote) is from a time where Alef was not yet King Resh
Some of the ones we see in forest though are younger since that was when darkstone became a thing
Darkstone tech was used when Resh became Resh and not just some kid from the sky
ugly sobs pocket sized
So smol, just a bab
is just a moth
stewie is still tiny even later in film which goes nice with my theory that skids are generally smaller species than ancestors watch resh being like 4 feet tall only
I wonder who would’ve taken care of the elders when they fell from the sky
Nobody did they just locked in /j
could be raised by light creatures /gen
Or Megabird
They probably heard divine voices and thats what guided them yeah
Megabird is like those mama birds that drop their children off a branch and let them do their own thing tbf /j
@midnight sonnet look theres tiny bird toy
Where?!?!/ref
herding behavior just like real animals - weakest members are in center
I cant they look so stupid 😭😭😭😭💕💕💕💕
And Bluebird is the older sister that makes sure they’re following the rules
they propably are lol
Yesterday my friend was herding manatees and they were too cute
like i cant see them being smarter than average goat
Probably started spreading darkness as a warning sign that they were going to far with their factories
Some might have worked with elders definitely
Eventually though with the totalitarianism, closer to when the shattering of the crystal happened and caused the apocalypse, there was less of that happening
Slight question but there's only two infected manatees? The one Dusk befriends and the big one, right?
you cant really grab and run with the one of size of great dane
What?
and i think there were 3 sick total, one was medium sized
Oh I missed that one that ran off, I c i c.
Cause bluebird is blue like the diamonds so she could’ve started the big infection to warn others
nvm i completely misread it, i read it around the words that why stewie befriended only one when theres two lol
You're good, I could've phrased that better.
thats why i said you cant really run away with the huge one
i think the one that ran off saw stewie rescuing the baby and not having enough time so it started running away to cause distraction
then this is the resh reincarnation, looking like a king after end his chores of day on his new body if we keep on the sissyphus theory
yeah maybe is thinking "how i end doing this on golden waste?"
even if tgc says those are protoeyes and not nostrils i will refuse to acknowledge it
those are nostrils and not eyes because i said so /lh
Teth after she showed Resh what darkstone was and the consequences of withholding light from creatures/nature started creating widespread darkness but she had to go along with it (the industrial revolution was in full force)
maybe they breath from the skin
i refuse to see their face as 😭
LOL
i see more veins than nostrils
it could be heat receptors, kinda like sharks (i think its sharks) or snakes have
To be fair real life manatees noses are located there, however sky's manatee ones are designed so odd that I can not see them being noses since the holes do not move.
anything but eyes please
Every animal in sky is odd looking atp
Snakes yeah
sky creatures are more like the protoss of starcraft i think
i think sharks have something like that too but for electric... i have no idea how to say it in english... they can detect the electricity created by something moving (yes even our bodies work on electricity)
anyway everyone eat light on different shapes
why can't we use the camera 500 years ago? and why does everything feel so low-tech? all the spirits we meet with more modern fashion and technology must have existed by then, since the world ends very soon after
I wish we had a season where there were pirates in gw with that shipwreck
Not like arr matey kind of pirates i mean like actual pirates
People who had to loot for supplies because desperate times called for desperate measures
handheld props are currently bugged in seasonal area, please check #known-issues
oh i thought that was a canon decision
that cape is bigger than him
Aren't Season of Abyss spirits pirates technically?
They legally excavated things
Im talking about illegal activities
Fair enough lol, maybe we could illegally steal darkstones
oh abyss squad definitely doesnt do that legally lol
Who knows i thought they got a permit
WAIT IM DUMB I SAID DARKSTONES WHEN THOSE ARE DARKSTONES 😭
And bluebird shock her head
i can imagine you can get nice money for one darkstone, now imagine dozen of them scavenged from flooded quarry
yeesss
Yeah darkstone is prettyyyyyyyyyyy loaded especially with how powerful it is
our past life was so cool, why we can't be so tall like him or with a cool cape!!!! i want that cool cape!!!
just imagine be so tall with a black mask and a great cape
Alright bye gang im gonna take a break from lore
okay good luck
anyway, on the past the brighter mask were from the noblese and status symbol right? but now the dark mask are like the fashion of skykids and are considered more valuables than brighters, it's a little bit ironic
idk, i remember some one talk about the theme of brigther mask being a symbol of noblese and i compared it with the image of players with a black mask being like idols on the game
i dont remember if where here or on reddit i read it
lollll i dont think its related to lore, just trends in the community
oh yeah.
Oh you mean the fact Ancestors wear dark masks while upper class Ancestors (typically ones from Vault or the guards from GW) wore the ones with more brighter head accessories in the new season area? Maybe you got that from reddit because I haven't heard anyone talk about masks and the difference between them.
Also hi piano
yeah maybe was reddit, but was an interesting theory about the difference of status between the different colors of mask
like lighter colors for noblese and darker for the plain people
I would love to see it if you happen to come across it again :<
i comment on it maybe i need search it on my reddit and pass a link of that
by dm o or here pass the link if i find it?
DM pls
sended
Oh? Did they actually say that recently because that would be insane
🕯️
no they did not, i just look at manatees way too much lol
I think they're still part of the existing realms though, at least prairie peaks is
from what i remember tgc said they wont add a new realm, they will just add new maps to existing realms
I think the elders got to work immediately once they were born. They're kinda like skykids in a way
the children yearn for the mines (children in question being teth and alef when they discovered darkstone)
Did they als start as moths trying to off themselves in every (im)possible reason? /j
Guys I need a picture of King Resh ASAP for a video im making
Look in the chats media
Don’t tempt bluebird she’ll curse your krill self
Thank you Luca
My theory is that most the spirits we see are in two generations. Look at how many of them are connected to each other, like Abyss=Rhythm=Revival=Enchantment=Duets.
If I had to categorize, it would be like this:
First generation (Dawn): Gratitude, Lightseekers, Sanctuary, Prophecy, Passage, Moments (?),
Second generation (Dusk): Belonging, Rhythm, Enchantment, Dreams, Assemly, Prince, Flight, Abyss, Performance, Shattering, Remembrance, Revival, Deer, Duets
Aurora and Blue Bird takes place across multiple generations
Ooooooooooooo
And the regular spirits are also in multiple generations
You mean Dawn-old gen --->> Valley - new gen (peak development) --->> wasteland - last gen?
Yeah that would make sense
Just remembered a convo I had with Piano about Sky's writing system and technology. Anyway this concept art literally just shows Isle being designed as primitive while the later ones are more sophisticated.
Yet another representation of cycles lol.
I have two theories about winged lights and Eden. First theory is that when you end in eden and hug the "winged light", I kinda wanna believe that that might be Alef/Resh. My second theory is that the winged lights are all "shards" or "pieces" of Resh's soul/being
That's been theorized a lot. A lot of people headcanon WL are Alef looking back on the world in awe and that the shard spread parts of his light around the world. The hugging the WL is one of my absolute favorites of mine though.
Kind of hoping they do something a little more out of the box than having the Winged lights just be related to the King. Like that makes sense but that kind of tale is overdone. Make it be the light of the people and animals he stole from. Let it be souls from the Last City going back to themselves. I don't want another redeemed villain I want people standing together and spiritually fixing themselves with each others help.
Please don't make it the martyr cliched
(half rant)
It's not gonna be stated canon who they were once. If you prefer it and like to headcanon it being other creatures/people, power to you. But be warned a lot of people already depict it that way in some form.
He would not be a martyr in any way, ever. Not even if they tried. And he wouldn't be redeemed either
That's fine! I just kind of feel like most of my theories/headcannons are a little out there so it is hard to talk about them because everyone seems to already agree on a set thing...
The King is already beyond saving, so yeah.
There's some theories I don't agree with, and some I do. It's fine to have your own headcannons. They don't need to matter to anyone else but you. I'm pretty open when it comes to theories so yours is interesting to me as well! But as I said, the Eden King is never going to be a martyr or a redeemed villain. He just can't be
You saying that peeked my interest, care to share any other headcanons you have?
Yeah what Lyra said on the headcanon stuff, people have different ideas and opinions. Do whatever makes you happy!
I´m interested as well, Kephi. :)
And I´ve already talked about my own headcanon of ♦️ being sentient.
Very much enjoyed that btw
But how did they become the elders we know today? I've always wondered about that
Huh; I took the artbook-alliteration instead where the Crown Prince ascended the select people that allowed them/him to both harvest light and use it as energy for other things into Elders when they/he became the King.
Maybe this is just me, but the skykids being related to the King in some way feels like the old folklore trope of the curse of the parent ending up on the child. I think that is where my aversion to certain theories comes from. If you are just sending pieces of yourself to pick up your own broken mess in the form of children it feels kinda bad?
When I played through Sky's intro the hopeful tone is what stuck with me the most, even when I first did Eden as a moth (ok, I am still a moth... I think). But some theories about skids or the winged lights being peices of the King or them trying to fix their mistake makes me kind of feel... not great? It is overdone a lot in media the you, your kids/you with amnesia having to face your past mistakes and fix them yourself.
Like I am not saying I wouldn't have sympathy for the King's actions (depending on the rest of the plot of the Seasons) but sometimes I feel like people want to make people out to be better than they were? Again we are still missing a lot of info here so like... I am not passing judgement, only saying that thusfar I personally from a player intereacting with the way the game mechanics and narration is designed, would not want to be associated with this person.
It also feels a little odd thinking you are your own individual star and yet still a piece of someone else? (I'm losing it my grammer is terrible)
My theory is they were born as Elders
I never said the skykids were pieces of the king, I said the winged lights could be as they are powerful enough to make our skykids fly and retain light. I'm not completely set on this. Also, I'm a fan of the "retired villain is a sweet old man now" type of trope and that's just me. I also never insinuated that they are pieces to fix the kings mess, which i don't believe that could be the case at all.
However, I do believe our skykids were sent by the stars to fix what happened and set the ecosystem back into balance.
With the line to get into the... temple? Vault? And people standing in water that drains their light is seems like currently the king and any associates were not only using animals but people as just a power source, regardless of the damage it did to the cycle of souls.
I always kind of thought of skids as independent stars sent by some cosmic force (maybe Megabird, maybe just the fact that the cycle was disrupted caused the stars to fall on it's own, nature taking care of nature). And we end up here. Having to try to repeatedly shepherd souls that get stuck in Eden on to the next life. Eden being a bottleneck point in this world and that is the reason we constantly have to repeat the cycle. Then instead of it seeming like a punishment passed from parent to child, you have your own agency and choice in what you do.
Nor do I; the King essentially shattered himself in my headcanon and Skykids are essentially fully-reforged new beings out of The Light and matter that was once part of the King. But continue still, Kephi. :)
Sorry when I am referring to the skids being peices of the king I am referring to other theories I have heard here (not anyone specifically). I don't mean this in an antagonistic way just in a, "this wasn't what I got from the games message personally". I was trying to respond with my ideas since that was asked
What's the difference between alef and resh sometimes feel like we talk about just one entity and other times 2 entities
Same figure, just Alef as a child verison and Rseh as an adult version. That's the modern version.
Alef is young Resh
Is totally ok.
We all share our own views of the lore after all. :) And Skykids, if you ask me, are independent stars still, since we can do whatever we wish, the only constant is the pre-determined destiny of shepherding wl through Eden and saving the trapped spirits. ;D
Okay, and we are the more old alef then
What can be the name you think the spirits give us? Us can nickname others but nothing say the spirits can't have a nickname for us
... I got a whole naming scheme from a pal of mine.
And yes, they´re spirit-nicknames for us.
I never felt that, I always thought of us as completely independent beings (At least initially). I understand why people have this headcannon but it's just not one I like nor ascribe to?
I think it's more interesting if we are are own thing, our own star, our own person. And that while our "job" is to try to mend broken cycles it's something we still do by choice. I also would love to see if there were any spirits that perhaps ascended to become skids in the past. I think that would also be a very interesting plot to follow as then you have people from the past who maybe had no power or agency now being able to fix the world that they lost.
The biggest difference between us and them is that we can fly around, while they can't, so maybe skykids? Idk
They maybe don't know on think on us as the reincarnation of the old king?
They think of us as their saviors. Imho. :)
I wonder how many ancestor spirits actually knew about the old king to begin with
That's valid, yeah. Personally, as a person who likes the concept of Alef being the WLs and us hugging him at the end of Eden, I think it comes from the fact the game is about second chances. Not because of Resh gives life to the Sky Kids to right his wrongs but just as the whole crux of the game since both Ancestor and Elders could not ascend and be brought into orbit. Their souls are stuck in Sky, unable to do anything. The game plays heavily into rebirth and cycles of life but also about connections with those around us.
Also small nitpicking but we are stated to be descendants of light. Sky Kids are separate beings from Resh but we will always be tied to him in some way because of the descendant part sadly.
Already answered and who says you can´t mold it to fit your own as well?
Since in the game, we as Skykids do everything by our own choices after all, no matter from where we came from. We´re still our own stars. x3
Yeah sorry I was in the middle of typing a response before I saw yours I apologize
The free will argument, but in Sky, love to see it
If anyone tells you wrong, no they didn't <3
Imagine on the future see a image of resh who looks like your actual skin of sky but more bigger on past scenes to make it more funny or like that
Also pretty funny how the entire thing revolves around "Resh shattered himself to right his wrongs via becoming Skykids" thing while in my own headcanon, this isn´t a thing: what Skykids are to the King are his penances that will never be fully accepted aka punishment by his own hands. Think Sisyphus, only that you don´t have anything resembling yourself anymore because you´re essentially eradicated and completely reforged into something else that will never be you anymore, only able to witness the fruits of your mistakes without any chance to go back to mend them ever again. Forever.
Cool way of putting it, very "doomed by the narrative" side of things
After all, there are choices in life that can never be backtracked from anymore, like dunno ... death itself. :)
I also think it depends on if we... remember going through Eden? Like idk I would probably just be like "nah I am good" after the first couple times if I actually was asked to do that. Like... if the cycle of going through Eden is supposed to mimic reincarnation wouldn't we not remember? All we know is what Hopeful Steward shows us (pointing to Eden).
I do like how ludonarratively through gameplay you can see plenty of people choosing not to do Eden. Some doing it every week (guilty) and others only once in a while. People making choices on dress and demeanor for skids and it makes me happy to that that is how they would normally grow. Eden itself was just a big mess that adults created ages ago and while we can choose to help spirits, or choose to go through rebirth, or both, it wasn't our "fault". Putting the "blame" on characters meant to mostly be children just makes me feel not great. I think this is why I dislike the "being shattered parts/relate to the King" theory.
(Again this is just my opinion with some observations after having played through the game a bit)
i say that idea by the idea of you alway try imagine how can look you when you became an adult, and when you imagine your past self as you but you don't remember how you look you just rebuild your past image with fragments of your present image, on the memories making on escence a adult version of you on the body of resh on the memories of the past
I find it so funny that you refer to him this way but also love the Alef is winged light/child at Eden theory whilst saying you like the "retired villain is a sweet old man". Like is he a evil to you or not 😭
Hi friends I need to watch the first episode outside of the game Is such a thing possible?
the lore theories space it's the most darkest space of the community like the vault of knowledge, and here we don't die as on eden or gw but have dark thinks and mysteries
I would super love to see just common people, normal spirits, ending up as skids because of things they did/problems they solved. No matter how small. Because it would help reinforce a narrative of "even the smallest kindness is worth it in the darkest time".
Not possible, also wrong channel.
@round salmon my bad, and thank you
well in escence the reincarnation is based on your karma too, if people do bad things on his life that pleople pay on the next life
Eden never was our fault, it was the fault of the King and he paid the ultimate price for it imho. What´s actually terrible is how we as Skykids essentially need to mimic what he had tried to do according to Sky Artbook (aka sacrifice himself to return light absorbed by the ♦️ back to the stars) by going up there and sacrificing our light to save the Lost Ones from there as we grow weaker due to pre-determined destiny.
As for whenever we remember going through Eden I´d say that we do, but we don´t remember actually dying from it (until coming to Orbit, that is).
I mean... idk why all the theories have to be dark? Feels unimaginative in a way. Like can't you imagine a happy ending? Even if the cycle you're stuck in is painful doesn't mean you don't keep going for the good times that will come.
Also for reincarnation- yes if you're going by our worlds definition. I am kind of hoping Sky gets a little more creative with it and doesn't reuse that kind of narrative thread.
Whether you think a Sky Kid "remembers" their Eden runs is entirely up to you at the end of the day.
To be honest, I will always help and do Eden. I like the idea of helping other Sky Kids (the statues we see in Eden) and Ancestors ascend and be free again. It's a nice feeling even if the remnants of the past linger forevermore throughout Eden and its wrongdoings. Gives me a sense of hope that everything will be okay and that someone out there is looking out for me like I did with them.
With Yume on this one and let´s also not forget that we can choose for how long we remain in Orbit as well :)
True I've seen some cool art of moths staying in orbit and chilling while greeting their friends when they visit.
i want a happy end, but i feel this end like a happy end on some sense, sometimes the difference between a good or bad ending or a light and dark ending its a personal thing. some times the autosacrifice feels more happy than other endings
Kind of makes me think of what Divining Wise Grandparent showed us in his "Kingdom of the Future" chapter of Season of Blue Bird.
Yeah that is what makes me a little sad, feels bad putting that on kids. But also it's a game so I understand storywise you need that kind of tension.
Also I like the way you are looking at it. I always thought we would forget Eden almost entirely, but it makes sense to only not remember dying. But it still would beg the question in some "is this actually helping?". I mean... the game tells you you are helping. So I am going to believe that (for now). But uh... yeah Idk
I mean I have run Eden so much I am more than halfway to a second Elder mask and I start like... around April 1st. I like to run GW and Eden because I like to help people get through it and have someone there on the other side.
Sky is more of a bittersweet ending then anything. Like yes it's sad and dark but there's hope to it, just like the intro cutscene.
✨️ YoUlL nEvEr KnOw ✨️
Lyra you're gonna become like the tumblr girls I just know it, you'll be a riot
Don't curse me like that
YES WAS JUST THINKING OF THIS IT WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITE PARTS OF THAT SEASON
IT'S NOT A CURSE LOL, THEY MAKE HIM LOOK HOT
OH LOL PFFFFFFF
Then yeah prolly
well the hope is indise the next generation, on the kids, and when you have an entire race of eternal kids who die and reborn, you have an eternal fountain of hope, sometimes the utopias hide the dystopias
SFLKLFLKF DONT ADMIT IT
maybe i make the more darkest or more silly theory
I wonder if our skykids will ever grow up into like ancestor height
Honestly I am just curious to see if these two seasons change anything permanently in game. I worry that that might be too much work but I hope they do. I hope they find a way to entertwine the Light and Dark a little more so they seem less separate. I also hope we do get maybe... more than one origin for skids as canon? Like perhaps all theories can technically be true at once? And not in a "we are leaving it open to you" sense but in a "There is a diverse way the cycle of spirits can work" sense.
not if we keep traveling to eden
No kidding, even if through AURORA concert one does understand why Skykids. Still, to have children go through that on a weekly cycle at least ... 😭! Even if in my headcanon, with each rebirth, kids become braver and more mature when it comes to this, seeing it as their duty in order to help what can be helped, as who knows how many trapped spirits are still in the Kingdom/game.
Thanks and honestly, I´d say that we do, since we did allow spirits to return back to Aviary Village and enable them to become its irregular visitors via braving the Storm, not to mention ascending them does mean that they become even stronger in The Light, thus allowing them to help us in the same vein if you ask me.
Haha, same!
Not to mention all the hidden secrets of both areas.
Be so fr lol
We won't ever see Sky Kids "growing" minus like Resh, Dawn, Dusk
Except via resize potions, but what?
maybe on a pair more of reincarnations i can get de brave to visit eden alone, but for now i can't do it
That don't count you know that!
All Is Soft Inside-part of AURORA concert does have this lyric after all:
"We can save what is pure if the hearts can collide."
idk, i want the livel of capes when you don't have the effect of a size potion affect how old you look, maybe i can have an adult skykid when get the level 300 (actual level 179 without wings of eden)
I ran Eden twice, alone, my first week because it was the Little Prince and I didn't realize the last Quest was Eden. Having the Prince there when I ended was nice because the game at least kind of gave me someone to help. Now I can run Eden alone if I need to, but often I try to help others (especially the friends I got into the game cus oops that my fault ^^u).
I´m actually more wondering who ON EARTH are the Lost Ones/statues at Storm Lock instead.
the size with the level like a symbol of age or recovering some fragments of resh can be cool
I will say this, they will NOT change the origin of Sky Kids or their design. But feel free to do whatever. I've seen headcanons and cool concept ideas of sky kids being "born" in other realms and having a more darker variant. "krill" kids exist.
I am super curious about this too. Like are they people who were in the castle? Are they rebels who tried to stop what was going on when the Elder's failed? Were they captives?
Oh indeed and especially why children-looking statues?
Did they have a specific statement/image that said why skids are? My understanding is we are a fallen star here to return light to the world. That's... pretty much what I thought the game gave you lorewise? Am I missing something?
maybe the places where are the wl are places where alef or resh was when was young? and them, why one wl is on a prison on vault, what do alef or resh?
When you go into eden, those are the statues that you're giving the WL back to. I think they were the last children left and were fossilized by the conditions before the skids came along
Inside Shard Memories tho?
I always thought the wl were the souls of the lost spirits yearning to return to the cycle. not that all of them were the King (but I might be missing something)
Statues (first image) are other Sky Kids who "died" in Eden. The golden child in the second picture is theorized to be Alef.
Return light to the world and save the fallen stars aka spirits of your (!) Ancestors. Even if my headcanon has a whole established system of "what happens if a Skykid falls into a different realm instead of Isle of Dawn/Aviary/Island Home" aka being adopted by either older Skykids or even spirits themselves. 🤭
Boy, that then makes me wonder how old are Skykids overall (as there has to be the start of this) and why do they always reset with "empty spirits" each week as if these statues are transitional vessels for dead Skykids of current times or something. 😰
What are you fully asking here? I'm a bit lost.
now i thinking, all of that kids on the end of eden, were spirits or were past tries of megabird of send skykids previous of us
i don't think megabird waits 500 years
I mean we don't know whether those statues were ski kids or whether they were spirits from before the Shattering right? There's no confirmation?
I know most people like to think that the child you hug after Eden is the Prince. I honestly don't see enough proof for it yet? I feel like since they intentionally took the King out of the game the idea is that you are collecting the last bit of your own light that the Crystal absorbed in order to be reborn.
Either that or what you are getting is the light that someone else gave to you once you turned into a statue in Eden (if we are going with the theory where some or all of the statues are skykids)
It´s how I also based my 2 main Skykid OCs as well, one falling into Golden Wasteland and one falling into Isle of Dawn. 🤭
To be fair they only took out the story involving the king. He is still depicted throughout the architecture and Alef is referenced in multiple areas of the game (Ushering Stargazer's memory, the prophecy caves, etc.) but I digress.
maybe that cause the acumulation of bodies on eden who are a little bit alive but withouth anylight
sorry I don't think I am writing the best. ummm
What I mean to ask is is there anything more to the origin of the sky kids that is said to be canon by devs or directly depict in game that says we are anything except another fallen star? Why would they need to change the origin of the sky kids? If spirits can ascend why can't they also become stars and eventually sky kids?
Probably because spirits still keep their memories and had chosen to not go through the Rebirth Gate to be reborn as something else aka a Skykid, essentially seeing the Orbit/realm constellation as their true home. :)
Sorry I keep saying this I am not trying to be mean I am honestly curious as to what makes people form their theories and why I might disagree with them or if I am missing information somewhere. I hope no one is upset at my theorizing/questions
You said earlier they you wanted them to expand on origins for them. I said they can't, mainly because it's been stated by the devs wanted the Sky Kids to be beings who descend from the light in the sky. Spirits are separate beings entirely but who knows maybe orbit or the cycles could do something for spirits like you said however the game does not imply such things happening.
Not at all. And the game does depict both Skykids and spirits as stars all the same, only that Skykids are far more independent due to having a pre-determined destiny and all.
But maybe some did during the Shattering and so some of those became skykids later after 500 years?? It's still possible at least
You're totally good, i'm legit having fun hearing a different opinion!
If these spirits did choose to become one with the Megabird, then there´s an absolute chance that they would be reforged into Skykids all the same, since the game does refer to spirits as "your Ancestors".
OH! OK I was missing a BIG part there thank you! I think that may have been in concept art? I don't have the book so I am only ever looking in here/on Tom Zhao's website for the images.
Technically speaking Ancestors are separate beings but yes they could from the megabird if you so deem that.
Anniversary Aviary´s got Official Sky Art gallery as a feature today; you can go check there as well.
Oh that is interesting.
TY both of you this is very enlightening!! (it's, it's a light joke)
Thus "reforged". ;D Aka turned into something else.
I have NOT read the art book
I have seen the art gallery and history muesum, watched livestreams (mainly japanese ones), a single interview and checked most of the pinned messages in this channel.
Any resource given in this channel or taken from the wiki like this for example is fair game. https://sky-children-of-the-light.fandom.com/wiki/User_blog:Amity206/Sky_Lore_Theories
I have visited it a few times! I mean I still miss things, but I even recorded it so I could got back through later just to see and mabe make some videos.
I am trying to do some "newbies lore" vids
And speaking of spirits, how powerful must the Vault Elder´s Lantern be to efficiently reawake 4 of them and essentially turn them into individual stars, separate from Megabird???
ENLIGHTENING LOL I've enjoyed this conversation a lot so thank you for putting some perspective into things both of you
Extremely powerful haha, my sky kid would steal that thing in a heartbeat. It looks so cool and the projection is crazy good if it displays an entire city that well.
I am a former lab tech who did evolutionary bio work (LOVE all the creature art here) and an artist who loves reading books on art archeology and folklore so uh... yeah I ran around the gallery the last 2-3 times it was out? (I think I missed the first day)
Not just that, but also allows your Skykid to actually interact with non-spirit people too!
As well as your actions actually having consequences aka annoying the sentries. 😈
Even if honestly I like to see their positive reactions instead, especially Level 3 respect one, which is WHAAAAAA~
!
My read on the lantern was it was stored memories. So instead of interacting with a fragement of the spirits memroies (which we can do through our own power in the present), the lanter shows us the past and the spirits there. They aren't really.... here, more a projeciton. Unlike the current Aviary residents which ARE here.
Yeah I love when they kneel or put their hand over their chest when you do positive emotes.
I seriously can not wait to get this emote I love it. It makes me sad I only have level 1 rn.
It´s still powerful enough to be able to reawake the 4 current seasonal spirits tho from inside itself to the point, we can summon them at home constellation table.
Yes but aren't the lanterns meant to make projections? If the Vault Elder worked with the King then wouldn't they know how to possibly trap the light from some of the people in time and space and show them later?
Like a... spiritual video cam?
The lanterns are referred to as memory lanterns so yes. Several of these are shown in game like the one from the Remembrance Guide. Also (one of my favorite bits of Vault tech lore) they have projection cubes! Which are stored in the Archive Runes in those big cubes we see.
Exactly, which makes this so much more bizarre, as at this point, these 4 seem to actually use the lantern as a phylactery even.
Me still wondering if the diamond that the Forest Elder had is the one the Vault Elder gives to you at the end....
what hapen if the lantern have one or some many souls or spirits traped there to save them?
Or something like "Lotus-Eater Machine"-trope.
Those cubes in the back are filled with projection cubes and can be inserted into lanterns
Gives to you when? :0
yeah I remembering seeing this after flying around a lot and getting kinda lost oob in Vault ^^u
The diamond I am talking to is the one in the Forest Elder and Vault Elder's custscenes
Ah that. Those are darkstones! They contain light. Forest Elder and her realm would mine them and use them as a resource, they would get exported to other realms to be used as a power source. Vault uses them a lot as well for memory lanterns and stuff.
A sentient lantern akin to Voldemort´s Horcrux?
Don't know why I forgot what a diamond is for a second. I always forgot darkstones in general 😅
So going off of the way the Vault elder seemed sad in their custscene and also that the lanterns are meant to keep memories. And that in game tgc has already said that Vault represents old age, I think of it as them keeping the memories of those passed alive, even though they couldn't save them. I don't know that I think of them in the same way as the rest of the seasonal spirits, but because the Vault Elder's Lantern is near the constellation table as well I always read it as the lantern projecting their memories to you.
maybe~
Perhaps we'll see this in Two Embers.
But I think the 4 current seasonal spirits weren't really activated by the lantern, they're just spirits that died and got ascended
Okay I got that one bit wrong but the diamond in Vault cutscene is probably a projection cube but the one in Forest is definitely a dark stone. They look a bit similar to me but when the Sky Kid lifts it into the air it projects the constellations of the Elders.
Vault uses memory lanterns for a lot of things (to keep record of stuff like things, creatures, and also memories). I don't really have a solid answer as to why the Vault Elder has the memory they did as we are only in episode 1 of the film and quest 1 of the season.
Guys this is gonna be a completely diff topic but
Do u think there was insurance for these people
AYNGARP I SWEAR YOU AND UR QUESTIONS (I mean this in the most loving way possible)
i have a doub where can be the WL on this season?
Oh so that’s why the guards locked me up, they thought I was soliciting to sell life insurance
Look man im a pharmacy tech and i deal with insurance all the time
And i think we mentioned medicine in vault so……
we have 2 ways if the theme of the oob with dark water are right or they clean so much and forget clean the water and by that is dark or they sell placebos
Ok but im serious there has got to be a way for people to afford their medicine
Unless they didnt
Which is how everyone died from darkness plague if theres no light
tbh I am wondering if dark water is more or less all they have left at this point in time...
Same when it comes to the 4, but they were once one with Megabird only to then remember who they are due to the Lantern´s Elder magic and thus separate themselves to become actual travelling stars, which is still a wow-feat.
well the drunk man of little prince drink dark water, and i know is a collab character and isn't canon, but can be a hint of this
idk if little prince can be an allegory of us, of what happens to sky on the past
Slouching Soldier is kinda their own character tho compared to the Drunkard (their inspiration), thus in my headcanon, they do exist and yes, they used to be a soldier before their Dark Water addiction got to them, as shown by their memories. Heartbreaking.
My message got eaten im so mad.... Sky is like medieval in terms of worldbuidling, they do have advance stuff here and there but I don't think they'd question about working conditions and medical insurance besides Vault from a scholarly standpoint. Most people just get by with visiting the doctor and getting a potion when they are sick. Plus pre-Storm era and during the wars and whatnot a lot of jobs would be stretched thin. Sky has currency, we've seen the ones, so they def have a way to pay doctors and buy medicine.
I FORGOT TO SAY but you're a pharmacy tech that's cool! Bless your soul!
Same with others we see in Starlight Prisons Desert.
Right but even in ancien/medieval times there was “insurance”
Its mainly for sea and property/cargo though
So maybe not medical but its probably for sailors etc.
And yes, I LOVE how we have tokens instead of candles this time, even if this makes the fact of giving seasonal spirits (seasonal) candles that much more bizarre.
Maybe they do with Valley and Isle then?? Tbh you're the expert here so you tell me.
on sky we have technomagic, that why we keep on the medieval era, the magic can, mantain very well a world traped on medieval era, but at same time you can use it to make magical technology accelerating so many normal advances of technology
I found a random token laying around actually in the season area. Idk if it goes to anything. It seemed like some spirits were scolding me for holding it.
oh yeah on the past exist coins... what make the spirits stop to use coins to use a candle monetary system?
They never used candles as currency.... Only Sky Kids did.
That bad huh?
Irl if you pick up a dollar off the floor nobody cares
:)
wait, really?!!! they allways pay use with candles while them have their own personal monetary system?!
I guess things work differently once you die.
Probably that or wasteland/isle
This place is so totalitarian/dystopian that i doubt any sort of actual compassion was given to the citizens by Resh thru insurance
We don´t know how much is a token worth tho. Might be more than a dollar and spirits scolding them for holding one does tell a lot about the situation at hand, like showing money openly is something to be frowned upon.
I think the economy collapsed 500 years ago...
Now candles are a way to symbolized building friendships was my take on it. It's trading something more important than tokens
Yeah thats what im thinking
Plus culturally its just a faux pas maybe
Valley is a part of Wasteland so could be both (only really said Valley because of the manta and commerce there lol)
FUNNY YOU MENTION THAT SPECTRAL someone did the maths for it a while ago, I can pull it up if you want to see
Probably due to circumstances and because given how candles were apparently seen as sacred, it was kinda a "reversal" from more monarchic cash to more primeval candle(light), which would make sense in the scheme of things if the King was a tyrant.
well it's fair, maybe them just don't want the reincarnation of the king start get bad habits knowing the coins and became greedy
I need to edit that video so I can show where I found it and the reactions I got. I DID test it and they don't take it away from you even if you annoy they guards and are put in jail. So I am assuming that the tokens were very valuable?
Resh didnt want candles being thrown willy nilly as currency if it was a light source to fuel his greed so
Big tokens would do
Please do, I wish to see!
Yooo pls do it i wanna see
But igtg now lunch breaks over
My theory is that tender toymaker is a refugee from Valley, since the description says they're from another place, and it makes no sense to be a toymaker in the harsh society of the Sky world unless you live in the entertainment-focused Valley
Eh I don't see skids as reincarnations of the King. But also they wouldn't know anyway.
If we are working under the assumption you are reliving Hopeful Stewards life (possibly) then it's them not the King.
oh
It's the conversion of candles and coins:
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
Or they just adapted themselves to candle-economy because 1, no more means to mine materials for tokens and 2, they´re bound to witness Skykids trade candles between themselves as a sign of connection ... all this without potentially mentioning that since candles are seen as "solid light" that this is their way to sustain themselves as well when being in the Kingdom. :)
fair point to make a candle based economy
the greed allways appear with any source of economy XD (just see the sky kids sharing how many candles they have)
Can also be from Isle of Dawn for all we know, as according to trailers, it was a grassland and all. :)
Personally, I get Dawn vibes from the toymaker
Same, especially wooden toys as well as rock-based butterfly. :D
Now that you mention it...
Good Lord, if that token-estimation is correct, then dang, talk about Last City´s economy being in recession almost if a token is this much worth. 👀
IKR
Which does tell me that the Kingdom was is severe trouble at that point in time as well economically as well, which does make sense, as it´s called "The Last City" and having a darkstone illness spread as well as if other realms already fell.
As if other realms are no more, then it´s bound for exported prices of their goods to go up and, with it, value.
This does add another reason why candle-based economy as well by the Ancestor spirits; candles are a relatively stabile income as well unlike materials that were probably mined elsewhere to craft tokens from.
mhm
can aviary became into a city on the future? you know can it grow?
i'm keep thinking on how we can try tame crabs to transform them in things like a bus or taxy maybe
That's what Project Aviary is technically speaking. The previous seasons like Nesting, Duets, and Radiance added shops and places to the area to make it more of a town. https://sky-children-of-the-light.fandom.com/wiki/Project_Aviary
then aviry can became into neo eden? the new fisrt city of the new era? of the player era
Technically yes, only that from what it seems, it won´t become like new Eden.
It´s becoming more like a mix between a town and a natural village, which is honestly alright by me because I really don´t like blocky cities. 😅
Eden isn't a city though, it was more like a castle for the king on top a mountain.
i say new eden as say the new capital of the civilization
It is actually a city according to murals, with the King´s residency being at the very peak.
i hope we can move to a own castle on the future
Ah I c
Kinda makes me think of those big cities that grew below castle hills like some Balkan cities.
Eden does?
on #screenshots-and-videos i send some photos of my throne i build so much weeks ago the stones were from a miniature replica of eden i made on my room on the past
i'm a king of an appartment on a smallvillages XD
how much of Eden have we seen?
the castle itself can be argued to only be the floating part or the entire Eden mountain superstructure
you choose which side you want to take, maybe come up with a another idea
the reincarnation of alef, cant cost a castle
But by this point, Aviary is basically given to be sort of a capitol/capital of the "(New) Kingdom" because it´s the only bustling village/town left. 😅 Eden, after all, is a ruin.
But else, yeah, City of Eden is indeed a thing, according to what we see in the show (especially at the ending where the huge ♦️-housing structure is shown at the center below the floating castle, as we can see blocky skyscrapers akin to what we see be depicted in Journey´s murals as well surrounding it) as well as murals depictings hundreds of people and even some ruins.
i want be the new king, maybe we need force to spirits to build a castle okno
well it's our work rebuild the civilization which we destroy on the past life and don't destroy it again
As much as we can, that is.
I understood you Spectral. Noone on the other hand I just didn't understand what they were insinuating in their sentences. Been a while since I fully looked at concept material of Eden.

Except for that strange crab toy, I wonder if it's an extinct species
why?
https://sky-children-of-the-light.fandom.com/wiki/Tender_Toymaker#Prop
This one.
It kinda looks like a light creature almost
Could just be like the friendly crabs in Sanctuary Islands, light crab does sound interesting though
if our crabs are a corrupted version of that crabs the darkness drestroy the claws
sky crabs could be vaguely based on hermit crabs, they do have various "hats" )including shar ones) and hermit crabs have small, almost not noticeable, pinchers
the toy yes could be different species or it could also be that those crabs lost their pinchers to darkness corruption (not shattering, they are in dawn part too) or maybe they have them only when young for self defense until they are big enought to use brute force instead
Oh sweet, I haven't fully seen that last one before. It's so cute 🥺
alternative: they are based on horseshoe crabs
haha i think theyre based off ghost crabs
the shape is simmilar, yeah! but they do have quite big pinchers
I always thought the depiction was unspecified, like how wax balls could be inferred to be all kinds of dishes and sweets.
crabs have very diverse sizes of pinchers! this one just has big ones
yes, but the convo was about the toy having them while living crtabs doesnt
The toy does have big pinchers like ghost crabs whereas actual sky crabs are different, odd. :v
it could also be stylistic choice, the other crab toys stewie makes doesnt have them (im not in game anymore to sc this)
I'm susprised they made two of that.
imo i think pinchers were probably just too much effort to animate ishdhdbd
maybe no crabs in sky have pinchers but toymaker thought it would be cool if they have them, kinda like we draw dragons and unicorns and other mythical beasts
Seems plausible yeah.
maybe that crab toy is just toymakers OC /j
"This is my original species, please do not steal."
okay, i'll try to be more readable
is it just a castle for a king?
Eden as we know it today is just the top but even there the structure is so large and houses enough people that it could be considered a city, one could even argue that the castle is only the bit that floats, the complex on the ground is most likely repurposed remnants of the temple complex that existed there before Resh came to rule since... i'm pretty sure that building a temple complex on the biggest part of spiritual life that is remarkably hard to reach without special gear or machinery sounds somewhat reasonable
that was a long tangent but lets get back on track
we can define the castle as several things
- the entire mountain
- just the structures at the peak
- just the floaty thing
and one could probably come up with several other ideas
the actual point i wanted to make was that Eden was not just a castle, it was also a sprawling complex full of workers, servants, scholars and pilgrims, calling it just a castle robs the place of it's richness
hell, if we really wanted to we could make GW part of the castle since that's where the last gate defended by Ancestors was
damn, i think i just made it more headcanony and unreadable than before

<_<
eden is the name of the city and the castle maybe is the temple of the crystal or like that, resh can be called the king of light or god of light by the people like the god of everyone who reings over all the light of kingdom
Please stop dragging this conversation, Spectral already explained it earlier.
idk, if i'm a tyranic king with the ego ideas of be a god, i do that to elevate my image to other scales too
it's just an answer to noone
Its almost midnight here
My emote wasn't aimed at you
Ah sorry
I agree with you but like valley is urban and high energy and they uh dont seem like a city person
In fact they mentioned it in their card
I feel like theyre probably from prairie imo
Sorry for bringing old convo but sky can be both futuristic and medieval simply because they had magic. Theres some pretty advanced technology in vault (holograms, memory lanterns, automated elevators) plus some other thingalings like “cloning” devices for creating artifical life (treasure reef), light extracting devices, flying boats, FLYING CASTLE, its more like if irl humans had magic and never discovered electricity
I know. But medieval stuff, mainly games use magic in a fantasy way I wouldn't necessarily call that futuristic.
Just adding my point of view to the chalice
Regardless on that insurance thing
Absolutely no way Resh of all people cared enough to implement health insurance
LET ALONE LIFE INSURANCE SINCE HALF THESE PEOPLE ARENT EVEN BURIED 😭🙏🙏🙏
I wonder how they will look as TS one day, like will they just spawn “alive” or like spirits?
Agreed 💀
||If I as an American say this imagine how awful the kingdom’s govt is||
Just saying but I am american as well. Can't think of it being worse than y'know what but I digress.
I keep forgetting im so sorry yume 💔
But can you imagine living in this kingdom 😭 its a beautiful game but i would NOT last a day
||oh no free medicine!! thats so commu!! XD||
It's not like I state I am american or anything lol
Also yeah I can not see myself lasting two seconds as a spirit or something because of mental stuff
i live on latam, idk, i think i can be an spirit for a while i don't need to eat if i'm a spirit right?
Spirits do in fact eat. They do just about everything us humans do in order to survive. WAIT U MEAN NON DEAD SPIRITS RIGHT?
idk most of the dystopies of usa are like a normal moonday on latam
yup
Good luck getting the sickness or any other form of dying then as a spirit because I for one do not want that.
As european i feel like i would be eden citizen
looking down from the floating castle
I feel like I'd reside in Daylight Prairie if we're going about IRL location wise.
i think usa going to be like gw on some years
can imagine a future where we can tp to the flying castle to help spirits?
I wonder if theres crime down there like in actual slums or if people just huddle together trying to survive because theres lot of stuff unattended and tents dont look protected much either but then you also have those houses with thick walls (could be barracks for soldiers maybe) and lot more soldiers spawn in marketplace than on the street
Lmao fr like good luck being a soldier too because i doubt there were axtually GOOD BENEFITS
thats most of them because of the draft
I bet they don't even get any benefits afterwards either, heck even the solider from Remembrance looks like that one meme of the dude so distraught. 😭
“Join us! You will get insane benefits after year of service! … If you live that long that is!”
talking about that the spirits can feel cold? they eat light but how far is the needing of light? the cold it's a shape of darkness?
Based on spirit memories they dont treat veterans properly after service
Not surprised
What does that have to do with crime?
it's more like the part of people living on tends they don't have so much things to make them warm with that and idk if they can make a campfire inside a city
“Sir, we are sorry, your son died.”
“Will I get some benefit funds for that?”
“Lol no”
guess which spirit memory it is
Wounded Warrior after getting pelted with spears with no compensation whatsoever even though he just helped in a war and wanted to buy flowers:
No, it makes perfect sense. Eden surely had to be traversable
🕯️
literally like that was the first thing i thought of
Poor dude from remembrance
I love veteran, bro is trying to live his life and he gets messed up so bad 😭 THATS MY GRANDPA U RUINED
The fact his emote is just grieve
There most definitely were and i wish there was a season focusing on these type of people
We’ve met soldiers, the working class, richer people, and children, but never actual criminals
i have a little head canon about veteran x grandma
IM SOBBING WHAT
She already has her white cape scholar hubby tho
really?
Yeah the dude with the white cape and a beard
Hes part of the family in season of belonging
Its an old season 3rd one so i dont blame you but ive been a vet for a while
Wise Grandparent, this dude
i din't expect that
The whole season of belonging is one big family
I have a feeling they were displaced due to deployment (the dads draft)
The older kid with the guitar seemed slightly young so he was fine
The other two kids were still not teenagers
well i'm so silly i din't expect that haha... but can be a secret lover XD (resh stop to control my brain!!)
Kids, parents, and grandparents. Honestly it's really cute to me
Hairtousle teen barely dodged the draft
The sparkle mom idk shes an adult
Have we seen woman drafted? I forget
Seed of hope after being told he has to pay for his medical treatment after being impaled by spear even as battle medic because Resh rejected his health insurance
Friendly reminder that the spirits are non-binary ^^
Doubt it
I just say it because i feel like Resh being the insane guy he is probably was ruthless if waging civil war so gender never mattered in anything
MY MAN IS CENSORED 😭 medic i love u.... poor seed of hope though
then grandma can be a grandpa? and can be grandpa x grandpa x grandpa? (i getting really dark thinks right now)
Yes but open to interpretation (same for rest of lore) as this pinned message #lore-discussion-spoilers message
I GOT BEANED TOO whoops
Maybe?
They're certainly presented as masc or fem but I think it's confirmed that they're non-binary
(And also what TheLuca says)
Wildest Sky ship I've ever saw 😭
Then what was exactly your point?
we are non binary creatures yay!!
then the king can be a queen so bald
They didnt say nonbinary but in that message (from a dev) they simply said gender was not explicitly stated
They did that to encourage ideas that are up to interpretation so if you refer to them as nonbinary thats perfectly normal
Other people give other pronouns too which is also fine
Just the "women being drafted into the army" message from earlier brought up some…negative emotions
Even jenova calls dusk ember gitl and dawn ember boy
No explicit canonical gender mentioned
The devs sometimes call teth cool aunt lmao
And @simple saddle i understand that may have been upsetting we will move on from that if its making you uncomfortable
Women can be soldiers too! Lets not step into misogyny
I didn't say they couldn't be, I'm a she/her myself
I dont think its misogyny but just tough to think about
i want think on all soldierr of sky as a strong woman spirits like the amazones of the greek myths
By the way look what i found the other day
they are so cute
With no VA benefits
/j
They were walking around holding hands whole time
Okay im changing topics, anyway Ayngarp since you're a pharmacy tech, do you have ideas on what type of medicine would be around pre-storm era?
and post traumatic stress symtoms
I'm half asleep right now, but I guess what got to me is
Does it matter the gender of those who get drafted if gender is up for individual interpretation anyway? (Of the spirits. Wasn't the conversation about which spirits got drafted into some army? Or did not back read far enough?)
I'm sorry for the confusion I'm causing
Ah sorry, didn't realize the topic changed
don't forget the war with the krills can be worse than the irl wars because they fight with true darkest evil creatures, the trauma can be worse, true predators, not just humans or animals killing them
I work with fabrics and yarn a lot if anyone wants to discuss ancestor clothing
In the US a lot of people get uh… Ozempic… (which im sure you know)
But honestly for things like darkness if light is unavailable to kill it off (since resh is holding it) then probably anything palliative
NSAID or steroid like medication or painkillers derived from plants
are pretty cute but idk what material can the use, i say, dont look like wool, and i don't see any sky sheep
Technically it is war with biological weapons if you think aboit it
I was questioning the logistics of people seen in war with Ayngarp. :v
Most spirits who are soldiers/guards are masc presenting and have a muscular physiche and wondered if any fem presenting spirits were ever depicted in war.
Oh no nobodys yelling at me
lore is open to interpretation = gender are open to interpretation
The ancestor spirits are presented without a gender.
Meaning if you ask them, I like to think they will just leave the question blank.
You are free to think what you want with that information.
So I can be okay if I was a spirit and got a headache, fantastic!
What about the lookout scout in GW? I see them as fem presenting and spying is also military work
then maybe we are doing misgender calling grandpa as grandpa because he can be a she and be a bald grandma with a beard right?
Thatll be 3K tokens
Isnt ozempic for fat loss? Or is it used for something else? How would that help soldiers?
I saw them more as androgynous but understandable.
Look at Luisa from Encanto, put her in the sky armor
It helps people with chronic pain on occasion
if we adjust that to the inflation and the change of money the value of tokens to candles is aroun 30 B trascendend candles
There is never going to be misgendering in sky lore because they let us have a free for all
And @wintry matrix I was just saying ozempic cus thats what I see a lot so I was trying to rack my brain into what people in the kingdom would need, Ozempic like medication would prolly not work (first of all who needs Glp1 if you’re starving /j)
Ooh, that sounds like something i would need often
Wait that got me thinking, how would therapy work? Like counseling and whatnot
Just a lot of headpats from Hair Tousle Teen
And bear hugs
Ozempic helps with chronic pain and it was the only reason for it until it was discovered to help with weightloss
If only it was as easy as hugging a manatee until the pain went away. /hj
I want vault elder to be my therapist honestly
ME TOO LUCA just let me rest my head on her lap 😭
It says from "the city", aka the last city of Wasteland. I think they could be from somewhere like the Village of Dreams or Citadel. I could be wrong though, it's just where I think considering how strange their job is
Really?
i just thought Ozempic is mainly used to reduce A1C and manage weight in type 2 diabetes by giving GLP-1 to the brain to regulate how much you eat
But ill ask the pharmacist the next time im at work
lorechat why are we talking about ozempic and not lore
Medicine used by ancestors
We were talking about what medicine they would use in the kingdom but somehow ozempic came up my bad
Not the first time this channel has gotten sidetracked lol
Can't I ask what medicine was used in the worldbuilding 😭
At least from what I’ve heard from my mothers pharmacist so it might not be entirely accurate but my mother says it helps
It is not offtopic this time
I find it funny when people ask why lorechat is not talking about lore out of context.
What can I say? it's a darkstone based disease, which means it could potentially be alleviated by the heat of the tea.
What about plant based medicine? Poultices and such? (Ayurveda comes to mind…)
Ill be back soon chat
stay tuned
Wrong reply?
i don't gonna lie idk how they start talking about ozempic i'm bet we are talking about lore and from nothing start that to appearing
Lemme find you original question. Here it is #lore-discussion-spoilers message
well i have a doub about what material you think the spirit use to make the cloths, because i dont think they use wool because i dont see any sheep
Has anyone made like a list of each item each realm speacilizes in? I'm not talking about darkstones and what not. Like say for example vegetables, that'd def be in Prairie. Stuff like that.
Theres also lot of herbs that can heal too
Forest has the engineers
Vault has the scholars
GW has soldiers
Valley probably also has soldiers but also artists, performers, sportspeople
I wasn't talking about the people, those I get
Clothing can be made out of plants (viscose for example) or from silk (silk worms). It is not out of possibility that they could discover plastic (acrylic) from which you can make yarn
Tradeable skills
For example I know Forest would specialize in wood and various stone and minerals. Prarie has crops and other stuff.
Also feathers and animal hides
Feathers yes, we dont know if there were animals to get hide from
for now we reborn the dye production with butterflies, if tgc want to us resurrect the producction of every realm and the artisans, what is more probable future production, mining and start make us to use a picaxe on GW or maybe other farming mechanic to collect idk, silk because the butterflies are so much and can produce so much silk
Wasteland = weapons?
Hide is skin and I’m sure the creatures had skin
maybe metals and minerals, have golden on the name and idk if its just for the old color od the sand
Yes but we dont know if ancestors were killing them and they turn into goo after light extracting machine
Valley might trade those because one of the sports they do is hunting
forest can have so much wood, meat and leather
Anyway im leaving for real, its almost 1 am and my left ark and back are protesting when im holding phone
sweet dream honky luca, dreams with the butterflies
Good night
anyway here is afternoon 5:45 pm, i going to be here a loong time
Im back fellas (drove hone from work
)
I know for sure gw, forest, and eden specialize in darkstone
Probably valley too
Sorry for pinging again but for military its practically nonexistent
But for civilians maybe? Probably wasnt that good
Come to think of it since i think some people thought it was a civil war
Was it largely a revolution against Resh?
Don't know about it being a revolution, might have to ask someone else about the war. I only know it was two different factions of ancestors along with light creatures fighting at some point as well.
The war is probably the least understood part of the lore to me
I have a hunch it was a revolution and a skirmish involved two opposing forces?
Yep
My theory is that its a revolution and maybe there were civil skirmishes beqteen those who oppose the king and propaganda machines for the king so
One could advocate for the continual use of light power in tech and refuse to let it be free for the environment
The other reasonably wants the opposite
Makes sense yeah
Damn lore chat died
