Does someone knows what's the point of Eye of Eden in particular? I get we're supposed to revive the statues, die, and get reborn but why are the skykids trying get to the glowing diamond thing in the first place? What causes the children to just force themselves to make it to the end of Eden? Other thing I wonder is why, lore wise, they keep returning to it to be reborn after? And, do they keep their memories of their past life after rebirth? Or just fragments, maybe? In case they still remember, and rebirth it's just a normal activity for them? What's rebirth for them. A way of dying? How does it work? They keep their past life memories?

The peak of the Eden mountain is theorized to have always been a place of Ascension and thus of great importance to the Light
in essence it's the place where all Light creatures converge to ascend to Orbit and deposit their addition to the collective and of course to be reborn to walk on this ground again

there are two theories for PNR:

one is that the statues are sky kids like us who went to PNR for same reason, to revive the statues and turned into statues too (you turn into statue in PNR too and the purgatory void room happens between you being statue and someone else coming to revive you)

second one (what i like to stan even if the first one is more likely to be true) is that all those statues are ancestors from Eden who got hit by the shattering first before the explosion spread further

memories:

skids (but not ancestors/spirits!) are light creatures, every light creature comes to visit eden at the end of their life cycle to become one with the light and enter rebirth cycle, skids are just maniacs who like to do that every sunday

just like we are obtaining wing buffs on orbit to "upgrade" ourselves, so do light creatures, they change forms a bit each rebirth cycle, the elder manta you see on sanctuary islands was a little butterfly long long time ago

wing buffs could be considered as some form of "memory", as for memories as is, its hard to tell because we are all players but we will see Ruler in two embers who is first child of light (as murals portray him as) together with dusk ember (uncomfirmed if they are skid too or not but we see them in form of winged light together with who seem to be child form of the Ruler/King/Prince/Alef/Resh in same purgatory room as you are before entering orbit and where you also meet elders for the first time) so we might see if those two kept memories of past life or not

elders are light creatures too (confirmed by tgc), unknown if they got reborn before meeting Alef (eden prince) or if they will be (they are currently staying on orbit with megabird)

speaking of this scene by the way, im predicting that this takes place AFTER shattering and stewie/dusk ember is the first one to go through PNR and rescue Resh, thats why we see two of them together like this

it links to what I said about the purgatory void room, that it takes place between time and space and you get reborn after someone else comes to rescue you and you can see them in front of you

but why we always see ourselves in the room? because it is paradox, we are both dead and alive, one of those PNR statues, our future self came to revive us but our future self could not be there to do that without us being rescued, making it paradox

There was a theory King could not grow, as an eternal elder, stuck in a body that stays the same. So he built a false body to look big and intimidating. Which would be why skykids are kids........but, I don't really think thats the case anymore simce 2emb King looks like he got skin.

Maybe they can 'grow/age', but with a certain limit. Independent of their mental age/maturity, their real size would be pretty identical to all skykids after a certain time. They could then decide after to be more smaller or taller using spells/magic. But that wouldn't be their natural size anymore. They're descendants of the ancestors, after all. And they seemed way taller than skykids. So, maybe they're light beings inspired from them, but way smaller?

the hybrid concept art comes from early light awaits era when the entire rebirth process and everything around it was little bit different, there were suppsoed to be "ghost kids" and more variety overall

this one is meant to be current sky kids while the second one is closer to what alef and elders likely are, still light creatures but more like proto-sky kids, they were unable to fly like us

another explanation of this could be that in current state of lore, the "hybrids" though not being hybrids or descendants anymore are meant to be skids while the "connected" one is what we become while ascending to orbit, pure form of light without any body

i believe this and this are supposed to be the same thing on this chart

My theory that I've shared a few times is that the crystal took light from ancestors and creatures, it combined. Then when the Ruler "sacrificed himself to share light back in the skies", the new generation (skykids) got light from the ancestors, creatures, and the Ruler (flame)

Maybe the blackout we see in TTE trailer is not because of the crystal powering up but literal blackout as either early sign of upcoming shattering or that blackout is shattering itself already

And the turrets flashed because there was power burst as the power control systems failed and it led to charging the diamond over the capacity too

Heck that diamond is big enough to be artifical sun, maybe the kingdom is already consumed by darkness even back then and the diamond is keeping it safe as huge torch, it could explain why it suddenly went pitch black dark even when it was middle of the day

The diamond being beacon would change whole point of view on Resh, we see him as villain but maybe he was keeping everyone safe like that, ableit through not very etical ways

we might not hear it but stars and planets do produce sound that is combination of their core moving and wavelengths it produce, i recommend looking those up on youtube, some are pretty trippy, just search "sounds of space/planets", pulsars are super trippy!

But will 2 Embers give us a much deeper look into the world now that TGC aren’t restricted by gameplay and hardware limitations? Absolutely!

Well, there's a lot we don't know, but there are some stuff we do. In short, Sky was originally populated by living versions of the Ancestor Spirits, until an event known as the Shattering destroyed their civilization and ended their lives.

Well, they’re definitely using hairstyles from pre-existing Spirits, but that makes sense for multiple reasons. Time and money constraints, it’s more efficient to reuse hairstyles for one-off side/background characters, and also, characters in-universe would inevitably have overlap with others on how they decorate and style their hair.

Perhaps originally, Wasteland/Vault/Eden referred to certain places, but as the Sky world industrialized, it kind of merged together

The shard in Eden and the one depicted in the final memory are one in the same. Although Eden Elder broke it in the memory, it still causes corruption and spreads throughout the land (ex: the red/black shards we see almost everyday that land in each realm). By doing those events Sky Kids are keeping the shard at bay. It's crazy to me how much generational issues are in Sky and all of it falls on the Sky Kids to pick up the pieces (sending the spirits to their resting place in Orbit, helping the Elders, etc etc).

My personal belief is that based on how the biggest spike on the icon points downwards towards the top of the diamond while floating just above it, that the King attempted to sacrifice themselves to act as a sort of seal on the diamond and stop it from exploding, or at least lessen the devastation it would cause, by ‘plugging the leak’, so to say. That they tried to stop the disaster, but were just barely too late.

To be fair, it’s just a storytelling tactic. I wouldn’t say it’s unique to Star Wars. Not enough to call that ‘Star Wars Theory’ anyway. Not to mention I feel like that’s pretty clear what’s going on. We’re starting with the Dusk Ember, with things already in a bad spot. Logically, in a series called ‘The Two Embers’— where we know there’s a DAWN Ember as well— it would make sense for the Dusk Ember to be living at the time where everything kinda sucks and things aren’t going well, and for the Dawn Ember to be the one to kick everything off in the first place.

And, from a money/interest/advertising standpoint, it makes much more sense for TGC to start with the Dusk Ember as a way to build up to the reveal of the Dawn Ember. They know how much we want to see the Dawn Ember, to see early parts of the Kingdom. They know how bad we—especially as theorists and thinkers— want to see if our theories are right.
So they’ll hold off on giving that to us right away in order to get us invested in watching through the Dusk bits. (Not saying the first part is going to be less interesting, just saying that more people here are interested in older Sky history than comparatively “recent” events). It’s like adults telling kids they can have dessert if they eat all their dinner first.
With Star Wars, the prequels weren’t planned, if I’m not mistaken. They just happened to get made because Lucasfilms saw a great opportunity there to make more money/garner more interest in the franchise as a whole and expand the story.

Anyway, that’s my two cents on a thing that wasn’t even a debate lol.

I’m am really big fan of movies or stories that go backwards and start at the end, piecing it together is much more fun and it makes sense in the sky lore since in the live game we have started at the end and have to keep backtracking slowly through time and clues to piece to together. Tho I’m so excited to see the dawn ember and early days

upon closer inspection theres some overlay texture too but it still feels a bit out of place if you look at it from distance, if it was on prairie light it would be bright yellow for sure, either someone

1. forgot to paint it
2. did not check where this asset will be placed before chosing colors
3. it was originally elsewhere (whole different realm) and reused in vault without any changes

even this fabric, which should be one singular color, is shaded to make it look more 3D so theres defo something wrong with that wase

Idk if anyone has ever played Ender Lilies (a really good game similar to Hollow Knight) but Resh reminds me so much of the Blighted Lord from that game. Then again, a lot of the story and setting remind me of Sky as well (you help spirits, recover memories from the past, the land is taken over by corrupted rain that converts the past entities to monsters). Also the music in that game is so amazing and is by my fav artist!

Its been a moment since I've been in lore chat but the new trailers have encouraged me to come back so halloooo

So there was this big power diamond in Eden. And like most power diamonds need light to do it’s job. But unlike most power diamonds, your regular old manta or light creature would not do. Know the king knew this, and wanting to see their kingdom thrive sacrificed their own light to the power diamond. Becoming more corrupted as the years went on. Now once all the kings light had been absorbed and the king had been fully corrupted, the diamond imploded on itself. Scattering the kings light around the kingdom, what we know today as Winged Lights. Every light we get, we slowly gain the likeness of the king. They also give those who remember the king (dawn) a chance to maybe fix their mistakes.

This was an older theory of mine but Im interested to see if it its true based off the movie and the upcoming season. I feel like shattering slightly confirmed this with final memories but its been a hot minute so

It's been theorized many times that the WLs are Alef/Resh but this is the first I've heard someone say that the shard's power broke and scattered the king's light. Interesting take

Mhm! Sometimes ideas seem good in theory but they can get to big and cause issues. I am super interested in the fight between Tsaadi/Wasteland Elder and Resh/Alef. Since through multiple environment hints and AURORA we see Wasteland constantly at war

The Cracked portal, the tipped over chair in the Vault, the literal battle scene before the temple. Not to mention the Wasteland temple itself looks to me like a place were you put prisoners or creatures (krill mayhaps?) or people wanting to fight. AND IN THE TRAILER The guards searching, their search lights look like the krills non aggresive light.

Theres also the fact in the area before the graveyard in the wasteland theres this bell noise that seemingly summons the krill.

Wasteland is very much a warzone in some aspects, yeah. It would be cool to see Tsadi in two embers, only Elders we have seen so far is Resh and presumably Lamed.

Which like brings forward the thing of like, are the krill natural or mechanical or some weird mix. The darker part or idea is that their old soldiers of the kingdom who were combined with the Krill. This is an idea mainly cause of the trailer

Yes! I believe it is to show moths what happens if they get hit by krill. I did some testing and the manta will fly away from you no matter what before it gets eaten, it is totally safe to jump down to burn the plant under the green cape guy while that manta is still there, even if you are under red light, that krill still prioritizes the manta over you

Yes the light creatures, including us, evolve and gain new form after each rebirth cycle, elder manta on sanctuary island was once just a small butterfly many rebirth cycles ago. We gain “new form” through wing buffs we get on orbit

Also fun fact about this manta, you can meet them in every realm except isle, home and aviary

Prairie - flies to you while you are burning darkness from the bell towers and gets joined by one more manta after two towers are clean

Forest - follows you from forest gate all the way to temple, if you free the two trapped mantas in boneyard they join for a while too and then head towards temple but only the original one will fly back to you if you decide to backtrack on the map

Valley - 4 mantas follow you from forest temple as you enter fourth map, but again only one will backtrack to you on ice rink slope and sliding race (it waits for you on final stretch of sliding/flying race so you two can “race” side by side

Wasteland - sacrifices itself to krill for you

Vault - you can summon spirit manta from skeleton on third floor

Eden - it waits for you on orbit, circling between you and rebirth gate

Theres also big manta above prairie temple after cleansing the towers that flies with you from villages and circles around with the small mantas you summoned with bells

You can also summon lot of mantas in citadel by doing handstanding thrillseeker memory and they stay there after the memory too

Anyway you wanted to discuss our almighty leader and bringer of light Resh, correct?

To begin, Resh is the Eden Elder. Most refer to them as Resh because it's the name used in concept development material and is taken from the Hebrew letter (ר). The other Elders also were referred to with letters from the Hebrew alphabet. (Ex: Forest Elder is Teth (ט), Valley Elders are Samekh (ס)) However these names are not used in-game nor canon to Sky, they are mostly used by fans. The Elders are also referred to by the times of day their realms represent. The Eden Elder is alias for this is Storm, mainly because of Eden's harrowing weather of falling rocks. (Felt like gushing about that tidbit ignore me!!)

It is implied through various murals and art that Resh wasn't always an Elder (whether becoming an Elder has always been a rite of passage or not, we don't know). Depicted in the Prophecy Caves at Isle of Dawn is several murals showing a person (most people call Alef/Prince but some say they are one in the same) completing the trials and distributing the light from within them to the other Elders. These trials were a rite of passage for the king/prince and helped him become who he is in the world of sky, eventually prospering into kingship amongst the Elders.

Next, the Shattering. In Season of the Shattering we are shown several memories in a dark void. These memories help depict a picture of how the red shard we see in Eden and the one in Two Embers falls into Resh's hands. The quests up to four depict creatures surrounding the shard, the fourth quest shows its power surging amongst two krills, fifth quest shows several whale creatures showing a stilled look. The final memory/quest depicts the "shattering" of the shard—it is massive and bristling with power and all of the Elders are knocked back from the power. At the top of the shard is a WL and Resh's mask symbol, presumably its owner breaking the shard before it became too corrupt. (Okay im hitting the word limit)

I am beginning to wonder if the Alef / Resh from the concepts eventually evolved into the Steward / Ruler relationship we see now.
Alef could still be a character who we haven't met yet, a different character, or the young Ruler, who we may see more of in The Two Embers part 2 going off current theories, but my current inkling is that Steward is taking up the role which Alef had in the concepts, and The Ruler, in the place of Resh / The King from the concepts.

stupid question: if there was a king, why is vault elders chair always in the centre? Wouldn't it make more sense for the elders to be more or less equally seated and the king (or nothing ig, there isn't much in game pointing to a king on a casual glance. I haven't had the time to deep dive yet) in the middle?

There's a lot of statues that are actually the king. The king might not appear as themself, but entire kingdom in sky has a lot of murals and statues that is proof that they exist. About the vault elder being in the middle, it might be because the king isn't always present and probably stays in their castle in eden. ||If you've seen the TTE trailer, they appear with a star shaped mask and a cape and controls the diamond that eventually causes the kingdoms downfall.||

This statue appears a lot in wasteland and is basically proof that the king does exist (and how respected they were before the downfall)

Resh is the fanon name for the King of Sky, while Alef is the fanon name for the Prince. There's a lot of info about them but I'm just gonna give a background about their names being from the concept art that are hebrew letters
