environmental exploitaton - experimenting on and draining light creatures for energy, which is what likely corrupted these creatures and made them turn against their tormentors
I giggled im sorry
I kinda forgot, I think it was behind a big door or smth and I saw it during an event
It is a massive and presumably elder version of an aquatic creature (eel, fish, dragon/krill; take your pick).
It is certainly corrupted and was a dangerous creature to light creature, ancestors and skykids during the Abyss season quests.
When you complete the season the creature dives into the deep abyss below the island. Patrolling in its darkness and seemingly peaceful seeing it does not go up to the many fish swimming at the entrance of the pit.
just a reminder that not everything is a lore discussion. there are wholesome moments and there are moments where it is not so wholesome. its not risky or dangerous, but there is purpose and there is character development so theres that
And also the ship is gloating narc/stretching lamplighter so i hope everyone kinda gets their dynamic đ
I understand.
It is a nice fic and the part I was asking about was enjoyable.
Should i send the series link? I think i had already pinged viksa and liv about it.
Check in promo
found it
Thank you
And uhh, one last thing before i go. do u wanna know how lamp met narci in my fic, or one of em
Cuz he tells assembly crew. Theyre all having a forest reunion but hey narci's invited cuz apparently he was lamp's 'close friend'.
ooh?
If you want to share, yes please
Also! Assembly kids, think of them as the annoying little kids who get on ur nerves but u love them dearly deep down. They used to bother him in life as lamp used to work and light up around the forest. Theyd interrupt him, tell him stupid jokes. Teenage shenanigans ig. He said that they were annoying in life but he still loves them in the afterlife
@nimble ingot now i send
YES THEYRE ||MARRIED|| CRAP I FORGOT NOT TO SPOIL IT DARN IT DARN ITTTTT
The season itself and now you
I really want to start writing something about Sky
Maybe a fanfiction
Maybe still a fanfiction but more lore and theory
I have been wanting to write a Season of Flight fanfic for maybe a year now
the season? little prince season you mean?
Season of Revival
Playing the quest and visiting the Aviary made me want to write
And you showing your work made me want to write even more
Ahhh
U got dis u can do it u can write stuffs hehehe
sometimes you have to make the content you want to see
agreed
(I'd react to the above message if I could)
FAM I ASKED FOR NARCI LAMP CONTENT
I SEE NO NARCI LAMP CONTENT
I MAKE A SERIES OF NARCI LAMP CONTE-
i'm now shutting up
DEW IT
Also @nimble ingot its been an hour or two and my poetic mind does not serve me good words to type on the page i aint gonna be dramatic rn.
"the rain seems to wash away whatever stress i have" idk if thats a good idea đ
"The rains always seem to wash away the tears"
Perhaps?
oh god no english class uh uhhhhh
IM NOT TRYNA MAKE A CHARLIE CHAPLIN REFERENCE BUT THE URGE CANNOT BE RESISTED
ah man catch me screaming these exact words in theater
I'll try to think of smth good n get back to u
wash away the stress would make for a quite nice sentence! just type it out and continue
you can always revisit this spot and edit the fic later
yyyup thx for the tip
One of the capes this season has the same manta pattern as seen on the Prairie Temple, making me think that spirit is from the prairie. Do you think the gash on the cape is a call back to the gash on this temple pot?
Did I break the rules or is that random?
i think that's just a weird random message lmao
rude lol
skybot just wanted to say hello lol
boom
Noice.
I like it đ
also uhh. how was the whole fic sending thing? hope no one found it too much ._.
the parts you shared in the lore chat?
They are perfectly fine, aside from the part I worry may be a bit of a heavy topic.
Personally, they are well written đ
ahhh yeah. prob shouldntve sent that in the first place. will delete
did the thing
You may not need to, I'd suggest to spoiler tag it in the future.
Is it just me or does the guide for the new season look like a character from the TGC trailer in 2023?
oh? how so?
The hair is the same.
would you able to share a picture to show the similarities?
Sorry but I'm lazy lol, you can see it in the trailer and in the game, then you'll see the similarities.
can double check sky promo for the fic btw #promote-your-sky-content message
Most people made that connection, it has probably been the single most discussed thing in this channel today so
No, it's not just you
It is very possible that they are the same
I canât believe I just connected Sky: The Two Embers to the new season. IM FREAKING OUT. MATPAT BETTER GET ON THIS
Youâre not the only one
Welcome to the world, Helpful âOuppieloverâ Steward
I know nothing about the lorEâFILL ME IN
The new spirit looks an awful lot like the main sky child in the two embers trailer.
Old lore, made anew in my opinion
All seasons in order summary when

its just a matter of i dont want ppl stealing the work even tho its a fanfic based on existing content
hopefully u understand đ
Oh okok ty for letting me know
No problemo
i was like where narci and lamp content
so i just made entire fleshed out stories n backstories for em and each fic kinda goes thru a phase in their romance
Where's the glowy glow?
The Sun Dog halo?
Bright mountain
it took me until I saw the portals to realize that the new area was Aviary XD
It is fair though for you to not know this immediately as the game does not say that at first.
Those who have played in Light Awaits, knows about it, or paid attention in the Project Aviary teasers may have noticed.
It may also be because I have five functioning brain cells
You are a sentient egg yolk, after all XD
I literally walked up to the portals and was like: "Is this what I think it is?"
And the portal's title name was "???"
I also thought that the season would be in wasteland and not a whole new realm
Also, the portal to the season area looks a lot like the same one that used to be the only portal in the island for you skykid to enter when the game boots up.
It is also a lot like the same portal you go through in Orbit for your rebirht.
because other wasteland seasons(at least in my eyes) had similar themes of revival/exploration/discovery
holy [honk] did i finally say something smart?
That is an interesting observation
yeah, y'all said stuff about each realm's seasons having similar themes, so i guess I used that to connect the dots
A whole new realm has waayyyy more lore tho đ
let me see...
(feel free to prove me otherwise with seasons that did not have a dedicated season area)
Dawn's seasons:
Gratitude, Passage, Prophecy
Day's seasons:
Sanctuary, Moments
Forest's seasons:
Assembly, Lightseekers, Belonging, Flight
Valley's seasons:
Dreams, Rhythm, Performance, Aurora
Wasteland's seasons:
Abyss, Enchantment,
Vault's seasons:
Little Prince, Remembrance
Eden:
Shattering (tell me I am wrong, lol)
ok, part two of this hypothetical boogaloo
Common proposed theme (just a guess)
Dawn: Change/trials
Day: Nature
Forest: Family/teamwork
Valley: Dance/song
Wasteland: Magic/Darkstone
Vault: memories/memorial
You are certainly up to something, Lume!
This is just me entertaining the theory (more of a hypothesis), but there may be more connections here!
Not to mention timeline things.
Since we can connect season to each other.
Enchantment = Lightseekers
Rhythm = Performance
Sanctuary = Flight
And so on...
Is this the same emblem on the changing stone in Orbit?

looks like!
If the portal exists in another portal, is Revival the flashback of all seasons?
I mean, you gotta do the quests to open the portals so maybe this is a flashback
More than one portal can exist. The Ancestors probably knew how to make them
Is the second spirit in the season quest actually the Rhythm Director?
rhythm guide, yes
It's just a sleep thought so it's probably not canon (or already suggested once)
Since there is a "megabird" god of a way, and by getting our flames blown out by Eden is a way to go back to Orbit (then we somehow get sent back)
Are we just perhaps outcasts that were never meant to be back at Orbit? Are we actually meteors that no longer glow and therefore casted to live on a planet as masked beings forever? Like, other than butterflies i don't think a lot of creature here glows, actually. Why do we need candles to light ourselves if we are the children of light and literally becomes a light source in the end?
^ It's just a midnight brainy moment rant, i just wanna let people know abt this midnight thought
sky technology is more smart than we thought.
My interpretation on why skykids light themselves is because they purposefully shroud themselves in shadow, to protect themselves. They only share the light with people they trust
magic portals can't be that bad, especially because we have flying ships, wind artillery, vault elevators, holograms, etc.
Idk if the whole megabird thing made it to the final game. Personally I hope not, since it simplifies the story and the world.
Anyway, I don't think we're supposed to stay in orbit because a. We're not exactly people, and b. We were probably designed to be reborn over and over again. I think the ancestors made skykids to help save their lost souls, maybe after realising there was no way to save lives
I may be wrong, but I think that also exists in Home.
Why are the characters hair White? Were they ever a different colour?
So did Hopeful not have a candle light thingie? Is that why they were interested in ours?
This area in Aviary really got me big braining. It looks scarily like Home, almost identical, minus the cosmetics areas and the whole surrounded by an ocean thing. There are going to be areas where you can change your appearance near the Home-looking place, so this has lead me to the conclusion:
Is Aviary a sort of⌠Old Home? As in, before the whole shattering thing with Eden. Looks like it, but I could be wrong. Feel free to expand on this!
guys, what seasons are stewards cape supposed to represent?
i know rhythm (blue), enchantment (purple), gratitude (red), whats the orange one?
that one references abyss, if I'm not mistaken
Megabird continues to exist in the concept just called "The Light" in game
Megabird was a name used in development and concept art, and possibly has been scrapped exactly because it implies an individual entity, when this doesn't seem to be what the Light is supposed to represent
I never realised that wait
For Wasteland I think it's more hardships
We know that the Enchantment crew has crashed into the wasteland and it's called Forgotten ARK so I guess they were fleeing something
And Season of Abyss spirits are described as scrappy and they came to scavenge for some treasures which, yeah scavenge is a normal word but I feel like it has some negative connotations, it seems to me that they are hunting for treasure in the Treasure Reef because they need it, whether they know what darkstone is, how it used or not, they need it either to use it or maybe to sell it
But also because the themes seem to continue those of the regions in most cases
Thereâs also some naturally occurring dark crystals the abyss spirits managed to scrounge up
(I was responding to this btw, I guess I forgot to use the function)
Yes
Is it what they are looking for or is it simply what they can find though
Any thoughts on this Season being called Revival, as opposed to something like Restoration or Rebuilding? Revival has such interesting implications, especially in the world of Sky
Maybe, but one headcanon of mine is that our character âdetectedâ another Skykid and held a candle out to light them, but the Hopeful Steward was amused because they didnât need to be lighted
I like to think it may refer to the revival, or return, of Aviary.
A space that once existed in the game, Light Awaits.
When it was removed, a lot of skykids were upset and hoped to see it return to the game.
Therefore, it may be more in line with Skykid lore (meta lore)
hehe, definitely made more sense than i did
Megabird is part of the game. There is very little proof of it being in the game, yet it does exist all the same.
There is the mural referring to it in the water surrounding the portal to the Office.
And the starry constellation of it in the sky above Orbit.
I am curious to know what you mean by Megabird simplifying the the story of the world.
As far as I know, Megabird (also called Bird of Light in Concept art) is a deity of life and Light. It is a culmination of all the light in the realms, and with that is responsible for the cycle of light/life in the realms.
I do agree with you about Orbit being a space skykids can visit, but may not be able to stay there forever. As there is not much for them to do there, no purpose.
Their calling/purpose is through a portal that takes them back down to the realms, where they seek out more spirits, more light and to continue their journey.
I assumed aviary was an old game area remade into an abandoned town, but maybe it is just a lore area. It has an eden gate also, but perhaps to eden as a worship space and not a sacrifical space.
everything is destroyed, and it's close to eden, so it would make sense if maybe it was abandoned at the point of eruption for the safety of the inhabitants.
It may be a stylistic choice, or part of the skykids' character design.
There has been a couple of concept art that explores the various versions of character the devs considered as player avatars.
Some were golem like, others looks like human children, others more animalistic.
It is certain they were aiming for something that looked human (child like) to convey the child like innocence and curiosity of the world, but also mysterious like a mystical animal or a inhuman creature.
There is this concept art that showed them experimenting with hair colours. Where they thought about using hair colours for players to customise their characters.
But in the end, they opted for white hair as notable feature for skykids. While they would like for players to have the option to customise their characters, as cosmetics complements the growth of their characters developing their own identity.
They were careful to keep the look of the skykid recogniseable. As you look at a group of skykids wearing various accessories and outfits, you would still be able to tell they are all skykids.
This in turn has solidified the base look of skykids being their white hair, dark skin, and glowing eyes. Anything aside from that has been left up to the player for they skykid's personality.
Wasteland elder is the hottest elder and it is lore accurate.
In Spanish itâs translated as Rebirth đ
PROJECT AVIARY SPOILERS
||i would like to talk about this clip of this child from the aviary, as you can see the child was checking out themself, hinting that they havenât been alive for a very long time probably because of the war that was between the people from golden wasteland and the krills.
the child proceeds to go up to us for a second, probably asking if they have been out for a long time or theyâre just thanking us for reliving them (or maybe they were about to ask us if the war ended
)
then they looked at out candle and got shocked for a second, they wanted us to lit up the gate of the aviary since they donât have their candle with them, and after they entered the aviary they were shocked to see the place in crumbles.
which concludes, the child has escaped the aviary because the war has affected their place, and their family forced the child to escape on their own (possibly), but they failed as they have been struck and went to stone.||
I heard something about a crab rave... I think it was called raviary?
The idea that this world has a concrete god that has an actual function (recycling the souls of dead creatures via rebirth sort of) implies that the ancestors just went "lol no" and messed up their own life and death cycle on purpose because people=bad or something.
It implies things were perfect the way they were, and that the ancestors had no reason to explore and invent and change, and the story falls into the trap of people=bad and new=bad.
Idealising nature through a literal functioning god just makes the entire history of the ancestors stupid and nonsensical.
Rhythm Director being in the Aviary raises a lot of questions. Being woken for a second time in the village, they seem disoriented, which they notably did not the first time around as a sort of troupe leader. Theyâre also a hairdresser, which seems.. incompatible with their other job?
I feel like rhythm was making a living off of music/being with their troupe so being a hairdresser was sort of a side job for them that they kept in aviary
It could be that spirit memories are snapshots from a particular time. The two from this one individual might not even be âawareâ of one another.
Well every spirit memory is a particular moment in time. And wdym by "two from one individual"?
Also, speaking of "making a living", i wonder about the currency the spirits used. I feel like skykid currency is candles but what if it was different for them?
If there was dialogue, I think it would go like
âAh! Iâm awake⌠how long has it been?â
âA candle? Are you perhaps one of my kind?â
âWait, I have an idea. Follow me!â
I think itâs entirely possible that
- This is a retcon, with this being the true origin of the Rhythm Guide.
Awaken- barber in aviary- troupe leader- Meets Performance in the final quest
- The Rhythm Guide eventually crumbled away in Aviary in the present age, and we are now reviving them.
Troupe leader- Meets Performance in the final quest- lost to darkness- awakened again- barber in aviary
I think itâs likely to be the first one, as seasons donât happen in chronological order.
Hopeful Steward's sudden revelation that they no longer possess a gem and candle.
This is goin off if they truly are one of the protagonists in Two Embers and is a skychild.
Maybe they never had one in the first place, and itâs the first time seeing it?
But itâs too early to say, the Two Embers trailer will reveal these plot details
so i have a question, why is there a second spooky home in aviary? larger wirh more gates
Why canât there be a second home is my question
thats a really good point, it just makes me wonder thatâs all, iâm a bit new to the game
A Skykid without a gem or a candle sounds impossible, but maybe itâs the reason they never had a cape
The idea is that we see portals in the realms of sky, implying Ancestor Spirits could create them. Maybe the Hopeful Steward, or whoever the creator of this new area is, made the portals for easy transportation.
thats true, i was thinking it may be an opening to expand the game, more areas through these portals, and another eden like level, only worse (as in scarier)
There are new areas, but they arenât available that easily, you will have to explore it yourself
And yes, there are places harder and scarier than Eden (imo)
IMO the scariest place is the deepest part of abyss, but that might just be meâŚ
The scariest part about it is ||that youâre slowly losing light. Even in Eden, there are numerous safe spots, but in the abyss, everywhere is a threat to your life.||
Especially if you go down there after you free the manta in the giant thingâs bellyâŚhoooh those eyes are terrifying to me
Dawn: Change/trials
Vault: memories/memorial
the entire isle and vault have lots of symmetries, being respectively about beginnings and ends, prophecy and rememberance. they are the only 2 realms with no proper social space and other than eden, are respectively lowest (excluding some parts of wasteland) and highest points in the sky journey. perhaps it's also intuition vs experience
isle can also be considered birth/rebirth. the whole cultural notion of passage for example is about entry into the new phase of life, often as an adult.
vault seems to be all about old age and its related qualities, such as aforementioned experience and what's connected with it - wisdom. the kind of wisdom that protoindoeuropean priests would have. it's general exploration of the unknown with no distinction between science and spirituality.
- a small note about TLP: it's the only area in vault that's outside of the vault tower. the floors symbolise specific realms, so vault tower in its entirety seems to symbolise the sky story. the fact that starlight desert is outside seems to be a highlight of the fact that it's fundamentally a crosover between different worlds and unrelated stories
Forest: Family/teamwork
i'd add to it creation. forest lore-wise seemed to be mostly about obsession about progress leading to ruin. forest in gameplay times seems to be partially this but in a sustainable way imo. in 7 days of sky forest symbolises adolescence so i wonder if it's supposed to imply growth from unsustainable way of using resources to a more healthy one
Valley: Dance/song
i feel like there's the most missing from this one. valley in general seems to be about celebration, friendly competition, art - in a nutshell, fun and joy. epicureism, you could say.
Wasteland: Magic/Darkstone
tbh magic doesn't seem to be one of the themes of wasteland in general. i'd say it's more so about restoration and hope maybe, since the wasteland in itself is about fall, hopelessness, deterioration, and darkness. as the name suggests, it's meant to be a wasteland, sth barren. abyss fits neatly because we try to salvage facility ruins and experience first hand consequences of ancestors' mistakes. enchantment crew seems to be to be trying to get by and restore their direct environment to be somewhat habitable
dude i just realised that many of the stone frames probably used to be active portals
there'll be more guides doing other outfit roles, maybe something more. calling it rn
Not me reading all this lore and getting emotional at all the symbolic meanings đ
Not sure if this would be considered spoilers to the season.
Since we only have rhyhtm guide in the first quest, and we dont know what the next one is about.
Is this just a wild guess?
(asking for clarification tbh)
for legal resons, yes, this is a wild guess /hj
Good answer đ
OH MY GOD
It does make sense. Sky portals arenât overpowered or anything, as they can only transport individuals and nothing else. For trade/transport, magic boats would be much easier, which is why we see less stone frames when we progress through the realms
Imagine a portal big enough to transport a ship.....
Not even the cloud tunnels would count.
Sure, they do teleport us skykids, but that would be more like fast traveling.
I recall in an interview a dev mentioned that they rather do teleportation than skykids flying though these tunnels for several minutes.
âTeleportationâ is probably just a scene change
I meant teleportation with portals.
We know that at least the sanctuary crew used cloud tunnels with the final cut scene of Flight.
However, we have never seen a portal/stone gate big enough to allow a boat to fly though it.
What about that big arch thing u see after you fell into wasteland?
That may count as a 'cloud tunnel'.
Or an 'aerial whirlpool' in my opinion.
(OR a ~~TORNADO ~~ Funnel Cloud lol)
I think a cloud tunnel is closer to a road than a portal
No, i mean where that one wl sits ontop of...
That would be a standard stone arch, not a gate with a portal like the ones at home, and at the top of vault.
Top of vault?
I should have clarified it is the room after the all elders cut scene, the one you can either move ahead to Eden, or home via a portal.
At the very end of the vault of knowledge, there is a stone arch portal that takes you to Eden
Thereâs also one in the 8 player area
Oh right i forgot about that
ah, true about the (now tree less) area with orea and the ceremonial worshipper.
Does anybody know what the story told by the murals is ?
I've been playing for almost two years now and I keep seeing them in so many places
It feels like an important part of the lore, but I have some trouble piecing it together (also, in which order do we have to "read" the murals ? is there an order to follow ?)
A boat would easily fit in the eden portal, but i'm not sure eden portal is canon
Edit: ok it's been mentioned
If you mean all murals, they don't really constitute one, cohesive story
oh true. It would be funny if that is the reason why the gate were installed over the portal.
That and we know these smaller boats are nimble enough to go though tunnels (seen all is soft inside song in aurora concert), and we also have crashed boats in the beginning area of Eden.
Seeing they got wrecked, it may be reasonable to assume they either lost power in the storm of darkness, or the wind was too strong for them.
Ah, that's what I was trying to understand, thank you !
But separately, do they tell some kind of story ?
Like for example, the ones in the isle of dawn ... or the ones in the prophecy cave ?
But the most important one for lore is probably prophecy that tells the story of the chosen one retrieving probably color lights and becoming the king. It's kinda connected with vault summit murals.
Another really interesting one is abyss. They show research on light extraction to form power diamonds and one of the possible origins of krills
Yes, would you want a list of all of them? They each have a bit story
I would really love to learn more about sky lore but I think it would be quite a long work to list them all, so unless you really enjoy listing things there's no need to bother yourself doing it, I can totally just try to look it up somewhere else ! đ thank you for answering đ
thank you !! The abyss one sounds really interesting, what does it say about the possible origins of krills ?
It may be worthwhile going over them in sections.
That is unless someone has taken the time to analyse each mural in the game in a document.
I vaugely remember someone once doing this, either a user called Vela, or Salem.
This was a few weeks, if not a few months ago, though.
https://sky-children-of-the-light.fandom.com/wiki/Murals
Some interpretations are sketchy but seeing them side by side can help piece some things together
thank you !!
That they at least some of them might be corrupted species of mantas, basically. Ones that have survived having their light being ripped away from them
I am doing it but it takes time because I'm also doing every spirit memory and cutscene and basically anything that might be lore relevant
On a new file
Realm by realm then season by season
On an account specifically for this
And sometimes I just don't want to do all of Wasteland's spirits at the same time+writing their memory+the Elder cutscene
And after that I'll do every season
you madlad. I am impressed.
Unless you have already updated some of the spirits, the memory for the ushering stargazer, pointing candlemaker (formerly called pointing pilgrim) and pouty porter.
thank you that's really interesting ! đ
If you ever need help with those sketchy carry spirits hmu
I have started recently, kind of (I can't remember exactly but I believe it was this year)
I am a bit ashamed that I haven't finished the base game yet (I haven't even started Wasteland because I know it will take me at least an hour and I am not feeling ready to do this)
I might try to do them quickly because even if I wanted to, I canât start the seasons before I do Eden (which will be me entering and waiting)
I don't think I will do the seasons in order
I should, but I really want to do the Season of Flight one because I want to write a fanfiction on how they arrived to the Wind Paths and everything
if you need pictures of the wasteland ones (including the infamous dangerous dou that is dismiss and pleading parent), feel free to ask.
Thank you
i asked this question exactly 15 days ago and kinda have somewhat of a response but uhhh help
how is lamplighter relevant to sky lore
I know, i know. Theyre from tlp.
BUT!
in what general sense would lamplighters (or lamplighter themself if they were the only one) be needed in sky?
Particularly, in hidden forest cuz lamp represents that realm.
Lamplighters are an archaic (old) work position that hardly gets used now a days, but in the olden days where lights needed to be lit up (or turned on) when the sun goes down, there would be a person paid to do so.
The spirit is possibly connected to Dawn based on theories made by users here (aside from my own), which may give an hint for what the Dawn elder's role was like.
In the Little Prince's book, the lamp lighter was tasked to light the lamp up when it is night, and snuff the lamp's light when it is day. The problem was the planet the lamplighter is on was so small and the days were so short, the lamplighter had no choice but to light the lamp and then snuff it every minute.
The lamplighter explains they are merely following orders, even if tires them out.
When applied to the Dawn elder's position, I would see it as follows:
Relying more on the older cutscene of the elder, the plot was the elder using their power to raise 4 boats for skykids to reach the next area. This tired the elder out and made them lose the Light given to them. It made their mask crumble away and the elder became weary, which contrasted their swift and precise motions when they summoned the boats.
This cut scene has changed since. I am not sure of the exact reason, although had an idea that the elder's mask breaking after they used their power left the players saddened because it implied the power given to them is temporary, and the elder was willing to use it to help the skykids instead of themselves. That, and presumably because of the changes to the plot during the game's development.
I considered that version as partially valid to the lore (if not as a head canon at least) seeing the elder's alters lighting up are not permanent. It is most likely not because of the game's limitations given season areas can permanently change for players who completed them.
If not Dawn, then here is the version for Forest.
In older concept art for the forest elder, the elder once had an umbrella and a lantern.
The theme of the realm was once considered to be misty and maze like. The light from the lantern in the mist was considered to be a bait to mislead skykids and getting them lost in a maze.
That aside, a lamp lighter in the hidden forest would likely have been a job ancestor could have taken, seeing the realm has an abundant amount of lanterns skykids can light up.
These lamps can lead skykids and ancestors to where they need to go, and seeing the passage trials implied that the darkness in the forest is deadly. This would emphasise the need for a lamp lighter.
That said, it would be possible for an ancestor like the lamplighter to be in the hidden forest. Helping to keep the darkness away and keep the lamps lit, despite the rain threatening to snuff them out all the time.
I think the question can be asked for the other tlp spirits, the little prince himself, the rose and Aurora
How relevant are they in the broader lore
Maybe not Aurora since the concert gives a lot of informations
But the little prince
With Aurora, they're the only characters who are neither ancestor spirits nor skykids I believe
could it be that forest was once "misty and maze like" back during the time when the ancestor spirits were alive
or did it clear up eventually to what it is today at some point
i feel like the little prince himself is relevant to sky lore despite it being a crossover with the game
i feel like he is part of the universe too, as the sky kingdom could be located on a earth-like planet while little prince has his own planet located somewhere else in a vast outer space
The season spirits from Aurora may be ancestors to my understanding.
They belong to different realms, even though we dont find their spirit husks there.
The only remnants of their memories are the meditation stones with the accompanying song.
Me too
If only because he goes through Eden at the end of his season, I think it indicates that his story happens
Although, it could be a kind of "entering a storybook" kind of thing
But I donât think it is
@nimble ingot Yeah the Season of Aurora spirits are ancestors even though their memories are different, but Aurora is not
Actually
I think Aurora and the Little Prince are
Humans
Aurora might be an embodiment of the Light or Megabird as well
At least her end of concert self
also @nimble ingot (apologies for ping), in my fic i demonstrate how spirits, now essentially beings of light, may have the ability to create fire within the palm of their hands to power up the darkstone mechanisms, or if they are in a dark area and need to see. narci demonstrates this a few times when he is working, pleading child does this to power up the boats in village of dreams in the second fic in the series.
i'm just wondering how plausible this is
( @pastel brook - that was not nice. What happened to the red text that you can revise and dismiss messages with? Why is it back to nuking messages without warning? )
It is hard to tell to be honest.
What the devs considered in concept art, may not be guaranteed as canon in the final product (the live game).
But, we can still theorise, debate or speculate about it.
Especially with knowing that the area would have been much different in the past where the ancestors lived, and there are plenty of spaces hidden the clouds. Which leaves a good portion of the world up to our interpretation.
oh, they are humans.
They are an exception to the lore. However there actions, dialogue, and events related to them from their seasons may be partially valid to the lore.
From my understanding, it is a matter of sifting through what would be Sky related, and what would be related to their characters.
For example with the Little Prince, the devs suggested that the skykids are like the fox to the Little Prince. Were we became friends, and connect with each other.
Our skykids are not foxes, and the Little Prince does not belong to the world. But the influence they had on each other still apply. That the skykids met and befriended the Little Prince, and the Little Prince's presence lingers on as an echo/memory.
(Pings are always welcome, dont worry đ )
The ancestor spirits do seem to have a bit of energy of their own. Whether this is Light, or Soul power is uncertain (because I have a theory that souls have energy of their own that is similar to Light, but still distinct and it may be what powers the darkstone. Which explains their blue glow instead of the warm hues from Flame/Light).
I think spirits are also able to activate darkstone mechanisms.
The evidence we may have of this, can be found in the game.
The Lamplighter can turn on the Light tower (even if it is just a memory). The memory mantas carry spectral lanterns that can light power a large diamond in the Vault elevator (which is similar to ones we have seen in memories such as wise grandpa and levitating adept).
The boogie kid seems to be able to activate a few mechanisms based on the way we needed to activate the same mechanism to progress (although it may also imply they had a skykid friend helping them that we were standing in as
).
Lastly, the memories of several spirits can be seen riding boats, which requires energy to fly.
All of that said, it is possible that the ancestors knew how to activate dark stone machinery. Some with magical means, others possibly in the same way as skykids with candles (however we done actually see any spirit do this). As spirits, they may still have the knowledge, if not now have the ability to use their spiritual energy for the same applications.
TLDR; It is Plausible.
(Mythbusters pun inteded, lol)
Honestly, it's a fanfiction, it doesn't have to be perfectly lore accurate
We don't know that they can, but we donât know that they cannot either
Also I think the flying lanterns in Vault are basically their versions of books
I think they use them to store knowledge and memories maybe as light
Season of Remembrance has murals that show ancestors using them to collect memories.
That's probably what put this idea in my mind in the first place
I've been desperate to blurt about the lore potential in this cape since I first saw it, many have dubbed it the "abyss" cape, but I think there's a bit more to it. the pattern of the "crowsfoot" has been in many places already
The Memory of a Lost Village cape
The cape feels familiar because this pattern has been seen in a great variety of places, and all have a connection to flying light creatures, birds and manta, from the carrying a boat in the Isle temple door, the top of the Prairie temple where manta circle, there was formerly a mural at the forest temple, that has recently been replaced by a diamond, though with Abyss we have a clue that manta and light creatures were used in the creation of power diamonds, and finally the wheel of life mural seen in the lake surrounding the office.
I therefore wonder if it's a tatter of an old factory, or even a remnant of the creation of the Eden diamond given its state
Strangely, it has no connection in mural pattern to Abyss, only the tears, being similar to those in on the tower in abyss, and the stone jar in prairie temple
It might be coming from the Aviary Village
I mean
I haven't seen a more Lost Village than this one in the game
The other part about the lore implication is the map update, though not revealed yet, we can see a new spot colored in all the realms colors, where there are only 2 places in white, home, and orbit.
It makes me think, is Aviary the point that combined the realms in a terrestrial sense, and "home" combined all the realms in a "celestial" sense.
So when whatever happened to Aviary happened, it got flung into the clouds with the other lands, and some higher power (not saying it was The Light, but it's probably The Light, or Megabird) created a celestial point that is home.
The Wind Paths also have multiple colours
Simpler version of my thoughts : home isn't real, you can't get there directly from any realm except orbit
Absolutely, and they also had darkness blocking them, and connect the realms!
Infact it was us and the light creatures who cleared the way
I feel like Home is a physical version of Orbit though
And it might be my obsession for Season of Flight
But the final rewards look like they could be from there too
My current theory is that the Flight crew came from the Aviary guided by a Prairie ancestor (the Flight Guide)
Further to that "going home" by meditating doesn't take you away from where you were until you enter a different gate, it makes you for the want of a better word "celestial" or you become a star.
Yeah, the stewards hairstyle totally feels flightish
Anyway, that's what has been nagging me to blurt out here since I thought about it in beta
The beginning of the game has you crashing down in Home too now that I think about it
And Spirits come to Home during "Days of" events even though in some cases, they should not have been to Orbit yet
And the guides during seasonal events who do not to Orbit at all, especially not during their season
Guides certainly are an odd category of spirit, it's like middle management of the spirit world, they aren't a core spirit, but they aren't an elder, they're something in between
I wonder if ut could be something in their blood (Rhythm and Performance are twins)
Something that can be learned (Flight was Prairie Elder's apprentice)
Or something else (Grandma)
And some guides are not spirits at all
The rose is a flower (I did not play this season though, was she at the portals like the others? The image is very funny)
The Shattering thing is
A Shattering thing
And AURORA is human
Oh yeah the days of guides are even stranger
Sometimes (most of the time?) They're just a regular spirit or a guide
Yeah I think the rose even did the cheer jump emote when we completed a daily quest
I need to go see thag
I don't have a video, but here's the rose guide chilling by valley while we are having a tea party
Oooh tea party
So this a headcannon, not a serious theory at all (it can be disproven very easily)
But I hc that skykids are naturally blind and deaf and can only see with masks
They can sense Light differently (since calls emit Light)
it would really explain the whole echolocation type thing going on with finding friends, spirits, etc
Found it, I knew I was part of a stream during that season
https://youtube.com/watch?v=OzHB_SYnahk&t=3620
Timestamped at the animation
I totally agree that what we see and hear ingame as people is an interpretation of their "light senses"
Yeah
The Light sensing ability is probably canon
Them being blind maybe
Deaf I don't think so
But I like it
It looks so funny
when we get wing buffs from spirits, they become gold/brown instead of blue. idk if this has anything to do with the refined artificial light/darkstone and pure light as well
Well they do emit light when they honk, that gets translated to sound to us, but who knows what they experience, though they definitely have ears
and then theres me tryna be lore accurate in a fanfiction
a lot of the spirits dont have voices tho? only the ones that give us calls seem to
i could be wrong
Ooh, I never even thought about the spirit to spirit vs spirit to skyd communication.
Maybe they use emotes and murals as we can't understand, or even sense their actual language
These are what I believe the colours represent in the game, and what the game would use to connect different 'factions' or values with colours:
- Gold/Yellow/White Light symbolises the Flame/Light (ex. Megabird)
- Blue symbolises the ancestors
- Black symbolises death (ex. Darkness)
- Red symbolises Corruption
The spirits turning gold may mean they have ascended towards the Light.
They may be shouting things to us and we are just looking around like "didn't hear anything bro, you speak LIGHT?"
OMG, but the light creatures do speak light, so those spirits who learnt to talk to creatures we can actually hear....
Aaah
The Whisperer spirits are the reason why I think the spirits are not deaf
That and we have multiple instances of speech
The rose explains her story to us and honestly, if not by speaking I don't really know how
And there is an ingame chat
Although it only works with close friends or when we're sitting
Mindmeld
That's
Even though I still think they can hear, that's really funny
I think I may need to map out all the places we are given text as though it was directly to the Skyd rather than the player.
Intro murals I think are to the player, as the Skyd sees light murals and interprets them for us?
The Prince can talk to us and all of the Prince season spirits, and Aurora can speak to us.
I think that's it?
oh my god
im bout to tell u smth really mind blowing (being dramatic here)
ok here we go
||i make music under the name somber_red and my music is based on a story and in the story theres a lot of red but the characters are like... pure idk if u can understand but i can just randomly dm u my music if you'd like but ASIDE FROM THAT ||
also, u know how seasonal spirits have that purple camera flare around them whenever the season is over for them? does that mean anything lorewise as well?
like does the purple color mean anything
That I can think of and that can't be explained by another form of communication
I think that's it yeah
There is a purple enchantment light, that we have yet to get a direct key for, other than vault, and some quest hint about secrets
"direct key"? i feel like this sounds kinda dumb but does this mean that we have yet to collect purple light?
Oh yeah, enchantment quest riddle clues too
They're only purple when we haven't gotten their memories I believe
So maybe a way to say that they passed on without us during the season?
That doesnât explain how we can still do the season quests when there is one though
Like the blue we have seen in prophecy and directly associated with water, cyan with air, green with earth, and orange/red (depending on who you ask) with fire
There were also red and purple enchantment lights
Red had the same symbol as in performance for "fog" to cover the stage. But purple was a diamond shape, and other than the riddle, not much else to go on.
Purple being "secret" or "hidden knowledge" does make sense, as you literally can't see the seasonal spirits unless another player starts them, or you are reborn for the first time.
I have noticed that, though have yet figured out what that means.
I thought they were the colours of their seasons' logos at first (The glow for each logo or emblem), but that is not the case.
Suppose that colour theory applies here, blue and red. May mean the spirits are partially corrupted?
Though I am not sure about this one, as purple has not been used as a mechanic in the game (at least that I am aware of).
||I'd love to hear your music if you like to send some in Dms đ ||
||https://youtube.com/channel/UCy0gDujHhOmv1Nwoa7EVTWQ is this you? ||
I'd love to stay but it's 1am here I have to go sleep
Tomorrow I'm finally starting to work on my Flight fanfic
yes that's the topic channel
Not only were there portals to home in earlier versions of Sky, but thereâs also one in the Vault of Knowledge
I donât get why itâs so problematic lorewise, especially because aviary now exists with the exact same functions
I was purely thinking on map coloration if that has any relevance, as the only places white, I. E. An additive mix of color are home and orbit.
@nimble ingot @cobalt palm unrelated but ||heres my actual channel (not label)https://www.youtube.com/@somber_red||
That makes sense, it could be that home is like the âorbitâ for Skykids, e.g, where we return to
home is like a starting point imo. it helps you know where you want to go in the game, which path of life you want to take. it's also sweet and small island to just frolick around in and uhh... be annoyed by that bell every 15 mins. -_-
and not to mention ts chaos
Sounds cool.
The beat reminds me a bit of an animator.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eK41XdAOw3o
This is accurate ngl, the second line sounds like they seen other humanoid creatures since theyâre asking if were their own kind
@nimble ingot this is technically my narci headcanon đ
if there were boats around, i'd flip on em but that probably only works during days of fortune
ohh thats a pretty chill beat n animation, i like it!
Maybe its hinting us that the season might be related to the metaphorical rebirth cycle in eden, like its kinda implied that the place was involved in the dark war since its all in pieces
I wasn't around for abyss season
but when I first got there and completed the quests and all, I was a little confused because I thought the giant tower/lighthouse? Would be part of it. It seems like you should be able to go inside but nah
and also the diamonds from the top are missing. I dunno if this was intentional or was changed. Wanted to ask lore chat cuz maybe it has to do with that
I wonder if something happened to make the diamonds be underwater?
Thereâs also giant claw marks on it and the other tower is crumbled. I imagine the abyssal creature or a krill attacked (krills are known to destroy ships) and the debris crumbled into the depths.
Calling my cape "The memory of a lost village" makes me feel cooler than I actually am.
I hc Hopeful Steward was able to scrounge these up. They're artifacts. They belonged to those lost in the downfall of the kingdom. They belonged to other kids jus like Steward. .... I wonder if they knew the owners...
Speaking of diamonds being underwater, i have a theory that king resh (eye of eden king) found the big diamond underwater from the abyss because of the concept art of season of abyss
The first picture is the mask above the Hidden Forest temple. Second pic is the concept art released by TGC about the Forest Elder. And third pic is the Season of Passage bear mask.
Based on the similarities between the temple mask, concept art, and the masks from Season of Passage, are we to believe that Teth had participated in the trials we experienced in Passage?
Thereâs actually a mural showing the leviathan emerging from the depths to attack the tower so thatâs not too far of a stretch.
We don't know how much of the concept art still is in the game so I would not use it as interpretation (by that I mean, if something is obvious in a concept art and less obvious in the game, we donât know if it is still true)
And otherwise
It's difficult to say
Elders seem to be a special kind of spirit so it is possible but unlikely
Maybe they participated in the making of the early trials, maybe they were the ones making the first masks for example
I like this theory.
The mask is an easter egg reference to the old Forest elder's mask.
Seeing all of the passage guide's trails were using animal masks, it is likely to consider the idea other animal masks coudl represent a trial of their own.
However it is uncertain if all animals masks would apply given the rhythm and performance group may have gotten their 'porcelain' masks (or whatever material used to make those pale and gold masks) in a similar fashion.
The material of most trial based mask (passage and prophecy) seems to prefer stone and painted details. The animals of these masks may not be detailed (as in accurate to the animal) with stylistic painted markings (namely stripes to imply eyes or hair).
Folks, one of these days my curiosity would get me in trouble XD
I was poking around in the clouds in Aviary (like any nugget brained lore obsessed skykid would) and came across a worryingly large dark plant hidden in the clouds.
I have never seen one as big as this, nor was I able to get a good look at it tbh.
It would not matter if the devs intended for this to be a teaser, something to scare off nosy skykids or just a secret left in for giggles.
The leaves in the first image must be the largest ones you could find in the game (dwarfing the ones you can find in wasteland or sanctuary island), there is a bulb and branches further in the mist, though it is not easy to get a good shot with the wind buffering the skykid about.
Further down, you get this spiky ball ominously sitting in the darker part of the clouds.
This can be found when you enter aviary, head to the left and fly near the clouds. Look for a tower like structure with pillars. It sits roughly in line with the cosmetic shop for reference.
Also as a note, I call this space aviary as the tower belonged to the old Aviary location and it is most likely the space teased about in Project Aviary.
It is interesting how the game likes to keep the name hidden in the game with the ??? title screen.
It is a nice touch of immersion and discovery for those who may not know the history of the game.
Whattttttt
Thats sounds scaryyy
Dark plants be lurking in the clouds be 0.0
I suppose there is a reason why the clouds hide the world so much.
Covering up the realms' worse affected areas.
Perhaps that is one way not to demoralise a skykid's hope in saving the spirits and their realms.
(love how the pc version lets me get in and nab more pictures)
Here is the area, you can even see the large leaf sticking out as if its a claw from a scary beast
I would not recommend walking into the clouds from the jars side (the ground is a bit 'unstable').
Rather try from the right hand side with the pillars. Flying in is also an option, lol
hmm...
Maybe later in the quests (no beta spoilers pls)
Jesus, that must be huge if the thorns between each of them have a greater distance. It must be tge height of 20 to 25 Sky kids on top of each other.
XD, we need that CBM measurment (Chibi Measurement)
Esther had the measuring tape, last I checked
Damn it. These clouds wouldn't be in the way if Eden didn't flood the world with clouds and darkness.
There probably is a difference between ritual masks and theatre masks
And other masks
Although
I can't remember if there are actually many masks without events
Aside from the days of events?
I did list animal masks a few days ago, funny enough.
There is plenty of animal masks in the seasons, while the base games ones hardly had animal masks (unless you count the helmets from the warriors as partial whale masks).
Days of and Seasons
In the very base game
Are there only default masks with added things?
They're not masks anymore really since the closet updates
Is the chibi mask the only actual mask we can get in the regular constellations,
A little late, but if you follow the tower down, it's actually the one that continues underwater with the krill inside, and the big glass bottom observatory (you can also chibi fall from the top and it makes it more obvious)
Yeah I thought the top doors would have opened, but maybe that's because we are scavenging diamonds rather than trying to rebuild that area, so the doors are no longer powered.
Maybe that's a good thing with what's actually inside that tower.
Is this about the bell tower in Aviary?
Abyss, I believe
Eh. Something hidden the clouds
Perhaps they were an organizer of sorts, since they allow the Passage students to be on their land (kind of)
Lore noob here: is there somewhere I could read up on theories and the likes?
For example I heard about some king of eden multiple times by now and I'm confused where that's all coming from
Or maybe its a dedication to elder teth that they had to include her old mask?
No, abyss tower
The king mostly comes ingame from the mural at the end of vault, where the 6 realm constellations appear as murals, and then a crown/mountain constellation that becomes a kneeling character holding an orb
Externally, there are quite a few design concept arts released by TGC artists which mention a "king" in Eden as throwing obstacles, a timeline with a king character mentioned alongside the elders, and a few which indicate the statues in Wasteland were "turrets" and "king".
Do a search for "in: #lore-discussion-spoilers Tom Zhao" and you'll find a ton
With that bit of knowledge, folk here have extrapolated it to meanings of murals in Isle of Dawn, specifically those in the main prophecy cave after completing the 4 trials, and lighting all floating fire pots, there is a character shown with a pointed halo around their head at the top of eden.
At the midpoint of Eden after collecting the first winged light, there are candles on the right wall after the transition which shows a mural of someone at the top of the mountain with hundreds of others kneeling to them.
There is also part of quest 4 I believe in the Performance quests which allow you to craft a story, either it is about a star, or a child, some of those stories appear connected, and possibly related to a prophecy of the king
"in the ominous chamber the[y] faced many challenges. It was for told they would be the first to succeed"
A bit of headcanon, but I believe this could be a story of the king first entering the cave of prophecy which gave the powers of light to the Elders.

Obv sky doesnât have much confirmed lore and this should all be taken loosely but there is plenty to use to theorize!
It's all up to interpretation and that's what makes it fun
wild headcanon, incoming:
(source: the announcement teasing about turning into a crab for days of mischief)
What if skykids who fail to escape the crab hoard were turned into crabs?
Worse, what if in Sky we get werecrabs.
Similar to werewolves transforming on a full moon night, it is skykids turning into crabs when they hear the chilling call of the King Crab.
Imagine if TGC were to figure out how to get crabs to do this in the top left corner.
That would be interesting, if not scary. (And yet exciting to have an added danger in daily candle runs /j )
Sky becomes a survival game lol
lol, it is already an RPG.
looks at Eden and Golden Wasteland
GIANT ENEMY SPIDER
oh gosh the turrets..
Imagine something like that for an event.
A dark geyser floods a pit in a sandy area (wasteland desert feels fitting).
At first you see bubbles with wax trapped inside floating above it. It pops and you get free wax.
After a while, the bubbles get a bit bigger, but now you see something lurking in the water.
When you try to fly over the water for the free wax, a tentacle rises and tries to swipe at you.
At the peak of this event, dark plants appear and the octopus rises from the water and runs a few laps towards these dark plants to steal them. If you burn the plants already, the octopus changes course to another plant. When no plants remain, it sulks back into the murky depths and resumes its bubble blowing session.
If you were to fall into the water, you are in deep trouble lol.
I have finally finished all the preparations needed for my Season of Flight fanfic (I made a new switch profile, speedran the base game yesterday evening and did the quests and spirits while taking notes today)
Guys this has been stuck in my mind since the first seasonal quest
Why is Rhythm Guide got trapped in the village in the first place? Didnt he go somewhere far away with his band in the last Rhythm cutscene and even made a comeback in the last Performance cutscene?
What really happened to him after all of that, so that at the first quest we have to free him in the Aviary village? This raises so many questions đđđ
Man got lost in the rhythm smh /j
Oooh ooh I have a theory about this hang on
My crab theory
We have not seen the guide leave the realms when the final cut scene of that season play out. Only the season spirits were seen flying an elder bird towards Orbit.
Seeing the rhythm guide later on in the season of performance's cutscene is not far fetched as it was the realm the season was last active in (the cutscene took place in the coliseum).
It is interesting to find the rhythm guide's husk in aviary village.
My best guess is the devs wanted to include them in the season for the players to meet the season of rhythm's guide, especially with knowing they did not get to remain in the realms in the same way as other guides since season of enchantment. Mostly because they did not have a dedicated season area for the guide.
Now, there remains the guides for seasons of Gratitude, Lightseekers and Belonging who needs a permanent home.
How many guides do go to Orbit with the spirits of their seasons?
I have watched the cutscenes of a few of them and only one has
Flight guide
I'm almost wondering if it's not an error
Wait, did the flight guide ascent with the group?
(going to look it up real quick) Ok, the guide in Flight does ascend with the group. Interesting...
So far I know, most (if not all) guides stay behind while their season's spirits ascend.
Hence why I think it might be an oversight on the devs end when they made the cutscene
maybe...
Now I wonder if the same thing happens to Dreams, Performance... all the other seasons đ
ahhh.... I'll have to check them next time I be on Sky.
Abyss stays for sure
Dreams I watched the cutscene but I donât even remember seeing them at all in it, I'll check
Enchantment stays
I believe I watched more but I can't remember which ones
I recall catching the skater girl ascend when enter the space, but that does not mean the guide does too.
Dreams stays I think, we only see 5 lights ascending so the four seasonal spirits and the child, we only see the guide briefly at the beginning but I honestly think that I might miss it just by blinking at the wrong time when they leave
Performance sees their twin and stays (the fact that they see their twin probably isn't the reason why they stay, but I think it's cute)
Sanctuary stays
Prophecy
"Sees their twin and stays..."
Passage stays I remember watching their cutscene when I did that tour last time
I'm going to see Prophecy and Moments
I haven't finished Assembly yet
I believe moments stays.
Assembly stays (I checked)
(Aurora stays, but that and Little Prince may be exceptions lol)
So
Prophecy we donât see anyone leaving at all the cutscene is only the mural and when the camera comes down again, they're the only one here but the same way Flight is still here when the cutscene is done)
Aurora, the rose and the Shattering thing are not guides on the same way the others are
Are the other spirits ? Probably, maybe not, but they probably are
Those three are not
But we do technically see Aurora ascend at one point
It's different
But still
ye
Sanctuary stays (check)
Moments stays
OK
So out of all the ones we can see in game now
They all stay except Flight
So....
We learned most (but not all) season guides stay behind.
The few that do ascend now...
We can assume it may be an oversight (though unlikely, but still possible). Could there be another reason
For Flight.
Maybe they wanted to join the Day elder?
They were an assistant (or something).
Yes
I'm also watching the other ones
They all leave except Rhythm
But we donât see them at all in the cutscene
We don't actually see the Elders in game, do we?
Like they're not physically present
I believe the only physically present spirits are the guides always (with a few exceptions]
Spirits during the season quests
And during events (and in the Harmony Hall) (I count grandma and the tree daily quests in the events)
The spirit in the office that sells the tgc cape too
Not outside of their cutscenes when their altars are lit up, or in Orbit. (not counting OOBs, naturally).
We know that the Elders have fallen (died) according to the in-game text from Dawn.
Although I am curious to know if the elders are dead, then why dont we see them appear like the ancestor spirits.
Going by Sky colour theory, them being black and white may imply neutrality (between life and death). Possibly making them ghosts/spirits in their own right, but not like the ancestors.
They seem to be bridges between the realms and Orbit since we find the spirits at their altar the first time, maybe they just went in Orbit immediately after they died
maybe?
It is safe to assume they got blown to smithereens in the Shattering event.
And seeing the Eden gates were sealed, I wonder if this was their plan from the start?
Did they seal themselves in eden, knowing it would be a deadly mission? (I assume the accurate word would be sniped by the bot)
(I had never explored this thought in lorechat, nor heard of folks discuss this except in the early days)
What if the Elders found themselves in a different state of oblivion that did end with their deaths, but they did not end up as ghosts in the same way the ancestors did?
All while the King could have had the same thing happen to them, but on a far worse scale

#lore-discussion-spoilers definitely needs some SNEEP SNORP
(I bloody knew it)
Ok, am glad to know the bot would have nuked this message without warning because of 1 word.
There are five crystals to enter Eden and we usually see the Elders without Isle so that makes 5 of them
But also maybe Vault is the one left behind since we see all of them in their cutscene
I forgot about the Valley twins wait
They're technically one elder so maybe both of them would count as one?
I find it kinda funny and sad that the Aviary's situation just seems like people just dipped and forgot about it. Same with the people there too. Like they were just chillin and they were like "Dang I guess I'm here alone now" and then just died
Dawn's mask is missing from the Eden gate. âď¸
Is there a guardian for Eden?
For the skykids?
I am sure a good amount of them still remember the place they once played in, and are likely glad to see it agian.
For in lore events?
We dont know what happened to the place. How it got abandoned. Seeing we do find spirits lingering, there may have been folks who stuck around, or their spirits wandered to it at least.
True
There seems to be an exodus of sort, or maybe a pilgrimage
That's most of the Isle of Dawn lore that we know (plus the seasons)
And it seems like it will be expanded in The Two Embers
My current hypothesis is that the Aviary was where they came from since we can see Eden from there so maybe they inhabited the village before they started to live in the different realms?
Doesn't explain how we see Rhythm and why they left
Or why Hopeful Steward is still here too
Wait a minute. Are sky kids immortal!?
I mean
Are they even alive in the first place?
We don't know what they are, where they come from, why they're here
Kinda.
They are like boomarangs.
You toss them in Eden and they come right back /hj
Their existence is walking and flying through the realms, go to Eden then to Orbit and then crash back in Home and do it all again
Oh wait. I thought everyone was a sky kids becuase of the fact that everyone in sky basically looked the same. White hair, some masks, and same skin tone. But now I'm lost lmao
(Some of which had aged and stuff and became an adult I thought)
Skykids are descendants of Ancestors.
They may have similarities, but are different all things considered.
There are two types of sentient beings in the game
Ancestor spirits (who are separated in different categories I think, regular spirits, guides and elders)
And skykids
Skykids are the player characters and that's all
Ohhhh. So we're all basically just one big anomaly lmao. Almost like aliens actually-
Well actually that might be a lie. Cause the spirits seem to have an idea as to what the sky kids are. Either that or they also have no clue and are just kinda going along with it lmao
Hard to say
Like ancestors, they are linked to the stars but perhaps more literally (they might be stars coming down to the realms to idk...)
They do look similar to ancestor children
The entire purpose of skykids seem to be to collect winged light (possibly other sky kids in a different form?) and give it to the statues in Eden (who are definitely skykids without light)
Then when they give all of their light, they become a statue like the others and wait for someone to help them again (not what actually happens in game but I feel like it's what's implied)
They ascend in Orbit, go through the door and do it all over again
Basically they're here to help other skykids until they need help themselves, over and over again
Ahhhhhh. Wait so what about the spirits then? Are they just there?
they are trapped. We are to save them and help them ascend
Also oh god imagine if Sky kids were a hive mind. Like your just a spirit chilling and stuff and then like 5 sky kids huntnyou down all like We're here to guide you to the light.
Dude I'd scream lmao
We've come for your Light.
XD
and it's jus a buncha moths swarmin an ancestor
Lmao. It's like the swarm hecomes so dense, they just start picking the ancestor up into the air lol
Lazuli aboutta give a big theory lol
ancestor: AAAAAAAA
Spirits seem to be dead, most of them anyway
They're dead and unable to go to Orbit by themselves
(This is an interpretation I'm making on the spot)
So
We have to burn some darkness to see one of their memories and after that, when the memory is complete and back with the rest of what's left of them, we find them at the elder's altar and they finally ascend to Orbit
The seasonal spirits are different because they ascend when their season is done
Elders seem to just be dead (we only see them in cutscene which seem to happen in a mindspace and in Orbit) and unable to go back to the realms (which regular spirits can do when we interact with their constellation or when they are traveling spirits, or at other times like during days of events or in the daily tree quests)
And Guides seem to be different
From the Season of Enchantment, only one has ascended at the end of their season (which I think might have been an oversight from the developers but we can't confirm) so they seem to be alive
Hope this is the right place to ask about this bc I haven't been able to find info anywhere else
I once heard a theory in passing about how the Assembly spirits are the kids/younger relatives of the Lightseekers spirits and I wanna hear more about why
Does anyone have any links to posts or videos about it? I've tried looking for it myself and I haven't found much
What's a light seeker-
Hello)))
WHAT
they're a band of light manipulators and magicians and performers and travelers(?)!!!
:0
the guys at the saplings in the daily quests
Oh. Thought they were just there to chill XD
theyre from an earlier season i think? season of the lightseekers
Oh yeah naw I've started sky in like. Season of the little prince. The sentient rose and the kid who does not look like he's in the right game lmao
Unfortunately I have never heard of this
Those are two seasons that are very unfamiliar to me because
Well Season of Lightseekers was before I played and the only thing of the season still in the game are the spirits
And I haven't finished Season of Assembly
It might come from one Assembly spirit's cape that looks like a Lightseeker's cape?
here's ||the best one|| the one who is affiliated with catchin the Green Light at Prairie's Bird Nest, and hangs around the social area where the light saplin is
We should make Lazuli cannon
i joined in late shattering, so anything before that is just me overhearing things, so to speak
i wish i had known about sky to catch lightseekers back then...
I heard of Sky back then before I started. But I thought it was one if TGC's other games that I have no clue how to get to lmao
I have been playing since Season of Dreams but I didn't go to Eden before Little Prince (when the game released on the switch) and I didn't participate in a Season before Season of Flight
Assembly and the Seasons before Enchantment I have a hard time understanding the lore of because
The first three I have basically nothing except texts on the wiki
Assembly I don't know why
Shattering too because I basically didn't play it when it was the current season and it is very special in how it works
To be fair
I have been in the cannon on the roof ot the Office when it is opened during Days of events
We're gonna make you into a cannon
welp, now I suppose folks can call you 'hot shot' /j
I joined before Rememberance arrived to live.
Wait so. WHAT IF someone actually managed to make it to Eden's crystal and touch it? What would happen?
I think they would be obliterated on the spot
That would be cool (have been trying that each time I managed to get close)
Not really, itâs just that all the people that remembered it have passed away
we have no idea, as far as i know. i have actually been meaning to do an eden run where i Just try to get to the crystal, and ignore the statues (to conserve as much WL as i can), but i haven't gotten around to it
Hypothetically we can put the spirits back into their bodies some how some way
I wonder if it possible?
I don't think it's supposed to be
Skykids are a different being than the Ancestors/Spirits. The most notable factor is the size. The Hopeful Steward is probably a Skykid, because theyâre the exact same size.
Spirits are the ghostly versions of the Ancestor Species, who once populated the world of Sky but have now collapsed
"We have come for your Light," the hivemind Moths chorus, before descending upon the Crystal. A sheer shrieking from the Crystal pierces the heavens.
And it isn't from the Moths.
it probably isnt possible, but that wont stop me from tryin! ::D
You might, but should you?
I know no boundries
OH RIGHT. We never really figured out if Sly kids actually were a hive mind
No moral boundaries either?
I don't know if the history of the Aviary village is important
The important thing is what it will become (I'm lying, this is the lore channel, even if it's not important I want to make my answer)
Fair
The hypothesis I have for now for why the Aviary village is the way it is is because of a shard eruption from Season of Shattering. The last time we saw Rhythm before the current season was at the end of the Season of Performance
I think they left for the Aviary after the representation (maybe they came from there? We don't see them in the final cutscene of the Season of Rhythm)
The Season of Shattering was after Season of Performance so it would work
I just remembered
I can't use the current beta because I don't want to be spoiled and others probably don't want to either
But I can use the trailer
The only other character that we see in the season trailer haven't seen in the first quest is Enchantment Guide
So for now the entire village population seems to be guides
Which is a reason why I'm so interested by them lately
Maybe there will be other spirits, but if there are only guides, it might tell us if Flight ascending at the end of their season was on purpose or not
(I'm sorry I'm obsessing about that but Flight is probably my favourite character in the entire game)
smart answer đ
Iâm just saying, putting the ghost back into the body rarely ends well for both

It worked in the novel I am reading currently
The guy was not happy about being revived but he did explain how he died
It past midnight here, I should go to sleep
I didn't start working on my Flight fanfic in the end, maybe tomorrow
Nevermind
I just remembered there is an ancestor in the Talented Builder memory and I don't know who it is
They have a guitar
guitar....
that could be pleading parent (wasteland, graveyard. One of the tricky spirit memories to relive with the krill)
Did they also have a mustache?
No
They were basically the Pointing Candlemaker but with a guitar I think
wait huh?
I am looking at the memory (from a video) and neither that, or from what I remember, did the spirit have a guitar.
In either case, it may be an unknown spirit we never got to meet.
I watched a video too but they didnât have a guitar
Maybe I imagined it?
The video was from the beta so maybe it was added when the season released or even later
Or again, I imagined I can't go and check it rn but I'll do tomorrow
Mandela effect in Sky?
Maybe?
But it was earlier today so it would be strange
welp i finally sketched my first doodle of my skysona (kay).
and it was of ||their first and only true "death" that corrupted and snuffed their inner Spark and robbed them of their ability to be reborn that led to Doublefive Light Catcher, their gaurdian/parent/guide to havin to carry them to orbit after they petrified and couldn't ascend with the other skykids and then have an illusion spell cast to make them feel and appear as if they're a normal, livin skykid and not some wistless soul||
Oops this is hella late, sorry about that
From what I remember, the theory drew similarities between the Lightseeker and Assembly masks, since some of them have very similar patterns
Too bad if nobody here has heard of it though. Thank you all anyways ^^
I started playing at the start of Sanctuary but I've been pretty actively trying to go back and revisit cutscenes and areas from the seasons I've missed
That sounds super interesting! Do you have any plans to share? I'd love to see your doodle
check out #sky-fanart-sketches-and-art-chat
Oooh I saw it! I love the feline features
yeye. who says skykids can't be beastial in appearance? /lh /hj
i actually spoke more about my sona a few days ago. lemme find it
here we go
More about my interpretation on Doublefive Light Catcher
and also my take on skykid physiology
Interesting theories!
i wonder if there is an anatomy diagram for skykids
No diagram, but they would probably look the same all around, as they donât have much need for human organs
i would assume so but since you can eat and drink there has to be something they are children of light and can litterally light a candel magically
We know they have an inner core, in which they store their candle
well thats something i didnt know (im really new to all this lore) never really looked into it
Hereâs a document I have detailing some parts of the Skykids: https://docs.google.com/document/d/12XSkaMV_5UYG-an_Qo37ItyKP6GaqBBA6iRqBVE2qck/edit
thank you!
the dot or (heart) i never noticed go away
im in for something i can tell
what is the small stone looking thing in your opinion i think it may be the "heart"
I feel like eatin and drinkin for skykids is a luxury, not a neccessity, but it does make their inner light/spark/flame/core feel sated.
I know this has been pointed out before, but it feels so scary seeing hidden dark plants myself, somehow.
I feel like the village is bigger, but covered up by clouds acting like very thick fog.
some people said that the wl is the memory of eden when he still a child/prince
How tall would narci and lamp be, relatively if they stood next to these two?
I bet theyd both be taller than pleading child but what about tea brewer (for fic reasons)
I'd assume that lamp would be just as tall as tea brewer, but then narci would be the tallest cuz of his slimmer build
Presumably the same size, given theyâre both adults? Sky mostly has a set height for all adults except for Prophecy Guide
PROPHECY GUIDE WHAT?
so does this mean pg is shorter than all the other adult spirits?
Also, if narci lost the heels i'd like to think he and lamp and tb would be the same height
Also would pc be younger than the passage spirits
No, Prophecy Guide is taller than all the adult spirits
AINT NO WAY
AINT NO FREAKIN WAY OH MY GOD
I NEVER KNEW THAT
but they were depicted as short in the official art for that season? confused
here, fire prophet is the tallest, followed by water, earth, air, and THEN guide.
that's perspective
yeah perspective plays a role in it
but the way it looks to me, pg is standing behind the others
it seems like the spirits are weirdly floating
they dont quite match up
Either that, or the Prophecy Guideâs height was changed mid-season
also. another question. i know all spirits technically dont have a concept of gender, but whats ur opinion on performance guide's crew?
to me each of them look female except for stagehand.
Do you guys think Rhythm Guide has the barber shop before or after he met his crew?
goose have question that may sound stupid, but is 100% serious. what tempura krill taste like? goose would assume shrimp, but unsure.
It's hard to say
I don't really know what there was in the season but if it was only the spirits and the ending cutscene, we donât even see them all together (probably since the season of Rhythm was a rework of the Winter 2018 season, including the ending cutscene)
I want to say after the Rhythm crew left (probably ascended?) because they would have nothing else to do
But maybe they are the one who styled their crew's hair
There is no stupid lore question here
Especially not one that has to do with eating krill which is a common topic here strangely
And hi goose
Probably taste like deep-fried shrimp shells
Just the shell only
And hi goose
Im thinking like charcoal
Hi goose
I didnât imagine it
There is a spirit with a white guitar, the moth short hair and a blue cape
you have a picture of it?
This description almost sounds like the Founder's Cape Robot in The Office.
I do, wait a second
It's not really great because it was during the memory when they were really transluscent, I wanted to take one during the memory cutscene but muscle memory, I skipped it
What the??
...
maybe they just update the spirit???
In either case, that is a spirit we have not officially met in the game.
Probably before
here is a cut scene image.
Am sure this is just an unknown spirit that somehow got some accessories since the season ended.
I believe that's the only place where we see them
They're not in any other memory of this season at least
may as well bring attention to this.
TGC, when flight was a thing, why have these feathers in the season area. Capes with feathered wings. Plenty of birds flying about. And a bird teaser (which I know Ash has explained the season was in development at the time and with that came changes).
Though dearly hope the elder bird (that was teased in that season but somehow never was released) would be added back to the game.
I'm very curious to know what would have been the final quest, as the final product sadly seemed to have fallen short. Because the mechanic for the quest was to save the light creatures. A mechanic that has been in the game for a very long time, one that stuck out in what was the climax of the season.
The greater manta was interesting, but again have a suspision that it may have been a stand-in, or a substitute for the elder bird.
I don't remember this spirit pop up in one of flight spirits
This is an unknown spirit, almost like a background character you find on occasion in some memories or cutscenes in the game.
This one for some reason got a cape and a guitar in an update after the season ended, and no one noticed when it was added (it happens that a dev decides to add somthing to the game, or take it out without notice or reason).
Yeah, itâs sad, the bird themed season should have a bird theme
ay, at least I found this gem đ
In a discussion in beta for Flight (this is after the season ends, so it is fair game), Ash explains the cape for Light Whisperer is based on the Elder Bird. 0.0
She mentioned how the spirit is like a veterinarians caring for animals, as "...the cape is used to help give light whisperer that disguise when taking care of young mantas or birds" (source A). The cape's design was based on the elder bird (source B).
Is that the Elder bird?
So that new season area, it looks like the original hub world? Wasnât it the lore that they all escaped to the sky for some reason?
Okay if that bird doesn't appear in Sky we are robbed
I WANT TO SEE IT SIT LIKE THAT
I'm asking the question because it did appear
In the final cutscene of the Season of Rhythm (I spent all day yesterday watching final season cutscenes)
Unrelated (kinda?)
I'm trying to find a name for my Season of Flight OC
But also I'm wondering if they should be a skykid or an ancestor
If we see ancestors becoming skykids in The Two Embers or something like that, I will know. But that's at least 2 and half months away
If you want a name for your Sky OC maybe try a bird name?
this happens because, for whatever reason, they used one of the spirits from the anniversary event for this cutscene.
They had a party hat for a while too, might still have a pic of it somewhere
Oh, so that particular spirit was used in an event, got dressed up and someone either forgot to undo the changes, did not realsie it was used in this memory, or was done intentionally as a joke or easter egg?
I thought about that and it will probably what I'll settle on
I just don't know which one, especially since I already use a lot of birds in what I write in general and want to keep the associations
Corvids are associated with fire, death, crafting among other things for example
So I will keep it in mind (even if I don't want to)
I can't really name them Jay for example
Wait
Actually
It is indeed the Aviary brought back from Light Awaits.
But it has changed a bit for this season.
I kinda wonder if the og aviary from 2018 was actually canon in some way, the winter season pendant is in the corner of the barber shop so
this might just be a reference tho
Rhythm wasnât in the Winter 2018 season I believe
So I don't know
That may be an easter egg to the first time season of Rhythm ran as Winter 2018.
fun fact: season of Rhythm ran twice (kinda).
It was adapted from 2018's Winter season.
https://sky-children-of-the-light.fandom.com/wiki/Winter_2018
https://sky-children-of-the-light.fandom.com/wiki/Season_of_Rhythm
yea troupe greeter acted as the qg during season of winter so it kinda opens up some questions
Troupe Greeter was formerly called Aviary Curtsey
That makes them one of the few spirits that once belonged in Avairy
I wanna see the elder bird in-game cause the last time it did was in Rhythm's ending cutscene

There's previous season quests thingies in the sky world, right? I wanna do rhythm's so bad
WHAT
In a way, we have been doing them this whole time.
Season of Rhythm introduced daily quests.
There were a few unique quests for the season that has since then stopped working (namely the snow bird in citadel and bird eggs in boneyard, forest, quests)
Season of Enchantment started after Rhythm, and has set the trend for seasons to have relivable quests with a dedicated season are.
Is that
?
||Which is why itâs the season
but letâs not get into that||
All of them except for Rhythm (and the first 3 as well). So anything past the Season of Enchantment you can do.
Speaking of seasons, I find this generic one used in the tutorials very interesting
I wanna challenge, so, fellow historians:
Send me your most difficult lore question.
Who won the Wasteland war?
appears >.> <.< Would an elder bird be considered endangered, severely endangered, or extinct?
To Sky Raider-- There were two Wasteland wars. The one Aurora's memory depicts is of the war against creatures and ancestors. This was fought to the very last man, but I do believe it was the creatures who won.
The second is found in beta. We were supposed to be birds flying over the fortress while corrupted and uncorrupted ancestors fought against each other, Elders such as an injured Daleth and Ayin, and the un-positioned Twins Samekh added into the mix. General Tsadi stands taller than he has ever before, shrouded in shadow and eyes blazing red. His red-tinted forces charge toward the blue revolutionists.
While these two MIGHT be the same, I believe it was the light side that won both. Tsadi was blasted back in the final shattering memory (though his mask remains in-tact due to his (former???) loyalties to Eden, as well as Ayin and Teth's). We can assume he was uncorrupted at some point due to his gentle demeanor in his cutscene and his continuous need for light.
Split: I believe that while the Elder Bird species had chances of surviving, they were ultimately brought to extinction. We can find three of what I believe to be their eggs in the forest. However, it seems they were somehow found and painted over, as well as abandoned by the mother.
There's still a loophole though. Elder creatures are called Elder creatures for a reason. If there is a minor bird with the ability to grow into such a bird, there might be a chance toward their rebirth in the future. The chance is unlikely, however. No Elder Bird has been seen in the game except in Rythm's memories, and art for Flight. If there was a place they'd be, it'd be Resh's castle at the end of Orbit or Aurora's memories, but they cannot be found in either. Therefore, currently, no Elder Birds exist.
interesting.
How I saw the wars (from the Aurora concert as seen in the live game), both sides fought hard. Ancestors and light creatures were dropping by the dozen, where even the light falling from the clouds were taking them out.
The next song shows all is quiet. There were no victors. There were no survivors. Only death and silence.
It has never been confirmed in canon lore which side won.
Even if you use the elder as a point of reference, you would see thier constellation has a kite shield (the diamonds' side that mostly resided on the temple side), whereas the actual shield we see the elder carrying is a round shield (the light side that seemed to be the side storming the temple).
This shape difference may not be a mistake or oversight, as the elder has been depicted with a conflicted or partially corrupted theme to them. As well as in another mural, the elder is agiain shown with a kite shield. As far as I recalled of the elder, they have not used a diamond shield in the live version of the game.
I wonder if the wasteland elder may have been a traitor or a turn coat during the war, which may lend to their guilty and weary nature. But we may not know for sure.
I have seen the 'forbidden' version of the war in beta channels at the time. While that was interesting to see. And it would be very interesting to know why they went that route at the start and what made them change their minds.
Especially with considering the elder hardly got updates specifically.
It seems like the devs are very cautious about what they would add on to the elders in the game. With rare references to them specifically.
That is a good way to put it
Not me imagining a paradise high up in the mountains with massive birds calling the peaks and floating islands home.
While I do agree with the wars driving the ancestors and creatures to near extinction, I believe it was ultimately the Fall that brought about the true end of Resh's kingdom.
It was always my head canon that the explosion of the Eda diamond happened in the ending stage of the war, or moments after a victory for the light side
At any case, whether anybody did win, and who it was is to some extent irrelevant, as non of it really mattered at the end
Do Skykids have mouths?
HAHAHAHAHA
no :3
I agree with your no
There were survivors taking shelter in the vault.
It is a bit concerning how there are memory mantas exclusively in the vault.
This begs the question if the ancestors made these memory mantas becuase they missed the mantas who they could not keep in the vault. Or because the mantas were nearly extinct or died out at the time. Or if the memory mantas were the spiritual essences the ancestors captured in darkstone lanterns, wherein they could summon them for labour.
It is a bit of a sombre thought to dwell on these mystifyingly graceful spectres.
Little prince has a mouth
But sky kids dont
I have to say yes, becuase they are as loud as the mantas. And those winged menaces have mouths (at least the larger ones do)
Mmm
I believe that while Lamed did use mantas and whales as an obstacle for the Ascension of the Vault, it was just starvation or loneliness that killed the mantas inside the vault
well of course
Little Prince in the sky universe is an Alien
(in the more old timy fearlytail sence I meanđ
)
However, because of the partial relation between the Vault and Orbit, they were provided a second life as mantas
Ahhhh
Well, the prince is also of the same species as Aurora's concert form
(as a joke)
Suppose they dont have mouths.
Would they be pouring various liquids on their faces all this time. Just because they saw ancestor do it, but for them the drink just dribbles down their chin and over their clothes.
Same for food snacks. Would they just mush any food stuff they saw ancestors eat to their faces and the crumbs messily cling to their faces.
do they just. Absorb it.
LOL
Actually, Moss, yes, I think it's actually what they're made of that absorbs food
If the food is made of light, and we absorb wax (which is made of light)âŚ
....how do we collect wax for that matter?! xXD
lol like how some of the undertale fandoms would explain how Sans eats/drinks? XD
I mean, you never see your skid go to the bathroom, right? I think what they drink or eat is just converted fully into light
How is absorption a scary thing?? All plants and animals do it
we do see them dive into the ocean a lot. soo... (/j)
another one bites the dust with the bot assassinating another message.
Lol
So uh
I wanted to circle back around to what you said about the Vault holding survivors.
Like the ones in refuge, right?
So uh
I believe
That winged light is traces of Alef/Resh
So why is one winged light in a cell?
that and the priests in general
Well, I mean
Resh was the only one to make it through the trails back in the old kingdom
And we find no trace of them in what I believe to be the second ember (stewards) village
So the theory makes sense
But I wanna know why Resh, or one of the priests, was in a cell
If you've got any ideas
That might have been a plot point for the two embers
yes, provided the 'chosen one'=King/Prince theory is true.
Winged light may also be a fragment of the fallen (the statue skykids).
It is a theory that rides on another theory.
Ye... but I think it makes sense that the light would be Resh
I just believe that to make it easier on my slowly decaying brain
We'll find out soon enough
you are ok, and it is an interesting theory đ
I have been thinking about the asteroid cape
With it we can go see b612 and the original characters from The Little Prince that inspired the spirits
What does that mean for the lore? Should we just accept it as non canon since obviously no-one can buy the cape anymore and very few people have it
Or maybe the Season of The Little Prince spirits have human alter egos alone on their planets
It is part of the collab.
Lorewise, it tells the player about the little prince being an influence to the game.
It helps lead players to consider metatheory.
I donât really consider the little prince stuff canon. I view it as like a dream the vault created. :â˘) Thatâs just my interpretation
Itâs my favorite season that I ever bought a pass for. 100%+ worth it
Maybe the area is just how spirits wrote their books, it becomes a memory you can walk inside.
fair argument.
collabs tend to mix both world's lore.
Some are clearly little prince, others are sky, the rest is a mix and hard to tell apart.
Itâs tangentially similar to how I view the concept art. Itâs not canon but it can help you understand the creatorâs intentions with the work better.
Like a lense that let's you look at something familiar in a new way.
concept art is sadly not concrete evidence.
They are rough ideas created as part of the process that lead up to the final product.
We can analyse them to see what the initial ideas were, the themes, the research we could gleam from them.
The parts that made it to the final release would help give context to what they were aiming for, even if they are a bit unrefined.
Do we know how long skykids have existed? I rewatched Ushering Stargazerâs memory recently and saw that it looks like a skykid falls out of the sky in front of them, so does that mean that skykids have existed and been reborn since before the ancestors became spirits, and if so is there an explanation for why/how skykids exist?
we may know more with the Two Embers animation, since that one seems to be going more into that period of time
but yes, at least one Skykid, the first perhaps, has existed during the time of the ancestors
and it is assumed/implied that this one may have become the prince/king/eden elder
Cool! Thatâll be fun to see
does the map thing have to do with the lore or is it just a map
Maps are part of the lore
I get it and I did think about it this way
But I think the season is canon
If only because the spirits come back as traveling spirits
But also
The Wind Paths lead to the Starlight Desert, there are shard eruptions in the area
And we have quests outside of it
Or even just because it's a season and I count every season as canon because why would only one not be? Especially since the other collab season is obviously canon
Are the Little Prince and AURORA ancestors or skykids? No, they're human apparently (although AURORA it's not sure due to the end of the concert)
But they're canon, how did they arrive in the world of Sky? I mean the Little Prince, how does he arrive on Earth in the original book? Probably the same thing
my working theory is rather that the little prince, and the entire starlight desert, is the result of some of those memory lanterns leaking, and warping the entire place, shaping it after a story that may once have been recorded in one of these lanterns
much like parts of the vault (parts the elevator, but also the archive) look very twisted, changed and surreal
and that the TLP season spirits - even if they were once very real ancestors - may have been changed by that effect too
I love that interpretation
Maybe the desert itself is part of the Vault region
I mean
Of course it is
But maybe outside of the Vault temple (which is the only thing we know of the Vault) there is only a desert
Hello everyone,i have small theory, that Season of Passage it's a past of spirits from Season of Prophecy đś
Possible
I don't agree though, having spirits of the same ancestor at multiple times of their lives feels strange
But it's interesting
Now that I think about it, how come rhythm guide (and later the others) is in two places at once?
What do you mean?
Rhythm is only at the Aviary
they are not in the music hall?
No, their twin is and we saw them during the final Season of Performance cutscene
But I believe Rhythm is only in the Aviary
Also with Harmony Hall, it might be a place perpetually during Season of Performance
oh
(can't believe I confused the two)
(They're twins I'm sure it's fine)
The Enchantment guide will be both at the ark and the Aviary, we saw them in the season trailer
Lore chat, whatâs the lore behind âsneep snorpâ

skybot I love you but why
Skybot doesn't like sneep snorp?
its lorechat lore rather than sky lore, lol.
As far I know, the bot makes jokes about users needing sleep.
Maybe it has to do with the wacky theories we come up with, or the few times the channel gets active for a while.
In either case, the bot is relentless.
All I know is that it's shaped like Resh's mask and like
That's it lol
Skybotâs favorite word. Thus, my least favorite
sneep snorp
no sneep snorp
In-universe, they were probably created by the Ancestor Spirits
frog
You still at it??
It is the 53rd time Kitsuu said it. lol
hii! im not involved in sky lore at all i just know the basics but I was wondering if anyone has tried to decipher skyâs language!! itâs so interesting to me
Language?
Of the top of my head I can't really anything more than the murals
yeah! like the mural art :0 Iâve heard people mention some kind of letters that are decipherable or something :o
alani_đđŽ2401#4236
Copy and paste the username above, add an @ sign to the beginning
spirit language is gibberish. however you can take the opening song in isle/orbit song when we ascend to figure out what aurora sings, though she may also be singing gibberish too. but it's all up to our interpretation and what we the players hear
ooh i see!! :0 thank you!
also the flute and piano perform a trill around the middle to end of the song to signify a "theme" i had in mind for the season. like just those spontaneous sounds
aurora is also singing a kind of gibberish, sheâs said before that itâs based on emotion and not necessarily words. she does this sometimes in parts of her songs as well
hey like kinda off topic but i wanna ask are all Sky kids technically siblings cuz if so i needs rewrite my slowburn
I have a theory why rain is stealing our light energy
Alot of ppl call it acid rain and i thought of that the rain is actually tears of sorrow or pain forest elder had after ||Eden incident|| in last area before entering the temple and the reason the pool water doesn't affect us it's cuz there are trees that some are choped down but they can still grow back and they give the thingy that "filters" the acid rain so the trees basically fighting to not get pool water to turn into dark water and don't affect a whole hidden forest and the acid rain is the reason dark plants grow in forest and not flowers (excluding grandma place)
Idk if someone said that earlier but that's my forest theory
I see them as siblings personally, all children of personnified Light
But there isn't a canon answer (there isn't a canon answer for anything) so you can continue without any problem
But also, I'm not sure they would actually be siblings
They all come from the same source
But they are not biologically related since they might not even be biological beings
And they are not socially siblings that's for sure
Not necessarily. I know what youâre trying to do, but they arenât
wha
Itâs similar to us, in a way. We all came from the same common ancestor, but itâs so far down that weâre practically different
ok đ
Yeah I always figuted the rain was polluted with darkness. The reason skykids don't snuff out in normal water is bc it's not polluted(?$
Tbh
How does that work if the rain gets mixed with the normal water
I always thought the polluted rain was like acid rain irl.
As for how Sky kids can swim, I believe they hold their light (like holding their breath) and if they canât protect their own light after a while they begin to lose it. The dark water drains their light way faster so the effect is more immediate.
Yes the aurora concert seems to be the biggest source of backstory lore cause we see all the realms and see a flowery lively version of isle of Dawn
âcause just like the crabs, everything wants to live
Also i have been wondering
In terms of lore
Is aurora the same entity/ goddess that speaks to us in the beginning of the game in isle of dawn when we light up the white candles ?
ahhh. i'm actually not sure of that. but i've been thinking that it is the collective spirits who are trying to convey their message to us and want us to restore not only the world but at least put a little hope in them too
i doubt it's aurora, tho. i feel like if it was her it'd have a voice
Maybe sheâs not singing anything and those are just vocals w no lyrics
I could see it either way
Okay so I was just thinking abt this random theory I created abt krill and crabs awhile ago then forgot abt
Okay so hereâs the theory: what if crabs are actually the krills children or smth like that (I genuinely forgot why this would make sense
)
If crabs are like, the baby stage of krill⌠
Hereâs my hot take/theory; crabs are seen in one of the sky animation trailers so i think theyâve been around a while. Like real life.
But krills, I kinda wonder if they came about a different way⌠the spirits seem very unprepared to deal with them, so it makes me think theyâre a more recent creature.
that's very likely
so I have a question..the rain in the hidden forest hurts us but normal water doesn't it looks like polluted water/acid rain if that's the case then it could damage the tree leaves but the trees are so tall we couldn't see the damaged leaves.
i have some question about the wasteland elder
so the ancestor are having war and the elder is the one who win right?
but isn't the wasteland elder is helping the light creature to fight the kingdom
then how do he end up with other elder at the shard
other elder are working for the king no?
or do they all agree with wasteland elder to stop the king since they figure he is too dangerous
Is there a post or youtube video that discussed the theorized stories behind all the spirits? I'm so curious what everyone thinks
Hey, whereâs a good place to read up on the basic lore?
Its probably not as streight forward as that.
I dont think there was ever a true final victor in the war, as the explosion of the Edan diamond made any temporary victory's irrelevants by the end
Aliances could have also changed dureing the course of the war, and whatever side the Elders started on, they were probably all oposed to the king by the very end
for now tho i just need to know about is wasteland elder working for king or againts it
cause i want to make a little animation about it
i been trying to connect the lore so the animation can get as accurate as the thing we saw in the game
I understand what you meanâşď¸
Trust me, I know the fealing
Im......not 100% shure what exactly happened, but to give my momentary opinion....
I would say he was originaly super pro king at the start, and even at the beginig of the war
There wouldent be so many statues of the king everywhere, and also heavy militarization if this wasnt the case
(He is a general after all, loyalty to his king is kinda a big thing)
But as the war went on, he's loyalty would break, and he would turn hard on the king
(By then however the kings influance and forces were too well inbeded in Waistland to make an easy victory)
This is my (current) opinion, but its not my finalđ
Sadly we dont see much of the Elders outside of there roles as guides and rulers
Of the conflict we only see the remains of destruction, dead body's, and of the past we only see light creatures and ancesters fighting
The Elders must have had a role, but with the changing lore from the concept art days to now, its hard to say with 100% curtainty what it was
this is what the mural shows of the Waistland elser
for the part that confused me is those shield
the sun symbol is the light creature protector and the square one is the one working for the king if im not mistaken
and the wasteland elder animation showed that he is holding the sun shield
but then he is so big that i dont think he is fighting other ancestor but most likely the corrupted light creatures at that point?
so does that mean the eden eye already shattered and the king is already corrupted at that point?
or the corrupted king doesnt have anything to do with the corrupted creatures
You are endeed corect about the shilds, and thats why I think Waistland elder started loyal and swiched on the light side
Although, I dont think the King ever went full dark corupted Kaiju sized in the curent canon
I think that plot point is scraped.
We will have to wait for the animation what actually happened to him in the end
thats tru
but i thought it would be cool to make a animation how the king become the corrupted king
I mean, he could still go corupt, just not how the kaiju giant we know and love from the concept art
Also, timeline wise, I think that after the initial explosion of the edan diamond, most of the ancesters died put, but many still survived
There would have been still been fighting in the castle area, as the survivors held out against the krill
i think the animation showed that the elder mask shatterd and we repair it with our flame
i think the shatterd is cause by the explosion
True
The shater events that we see nothing compared to the mega shatering that happened at that moment
Also, it seamea that whatever the exact story is, one thing is a fixed in canon
By the end, all the Elders were present in Edan. Whatever purpous brought them there, we know they were present in front of the diamond as it was growing critical
They might have tried to stop it, to shut it down or medigate the damage, but it was too little too late, and it exploded, knocking them back and destroying there phisical body's
This is now a fixed point in canon
Whatever story or interpretation we have, this must happen
It was something that was planed even way back in the "Light Awaits" days, but never officially inplimanted
for my theory
Now there's two possible event
- all the elder trying to stop the king to gain the power from the diamond and the king launch in and shatter the diamond and cause it to exploded (and he become the corrupted king/ded)
- all the elder trying to stop the diamond for overload but can't do anything and the king try to stop the diamond and sacrifice himself but its already too late (and become the corrupted king/ded)
king resh is smol tho
i love the kaiju version more ngl
I know, I miss it toođ
I think the 2nd potion fits in more with the curent lore and the "Two Embers" teaser
we do see him launching into the diamond tho
I havd to go nowđ
Wish I could talk more
With you luck with your animation
(If you wanna discuss more on this topic, feel free to send me direct message, and we can workshop this
aww tysm for sharing the info too
cya
Lounching into.........

I had never considered thatđ¤
Well, gotta go, talk later
The Goddess AURORA I see as a representation of the Light, like megabird
So in that case, she might be the narrator or at least a part of it if we think the narrator is the Light itself
In the original cutscene that was removed and in the Isle murals, first person plural pronouns we and us are used
So itâs either a collective of ancestors or maybe one ancestor representing all of them
ok so im back again
WHAT IS THIS SEASON ITS AWESOME ALREADY
There was actually a fantastic headcanon by...(Im ashamed to say that I forgot there nameđ ), that called Aurora "The feather of Magabird".
The theory goes that "The Light", which is ofter refeared to as Megabird, is not really an entery in the sence of a god, but rather a living force of nature that is the ultimate sorce of all light in the world
As such it manifests in different ways, all of which are a part of Megabird, while also being seperate things.
The cycle of light is a manifestation.
The realm that we enter and get reborn in is a manifestation,
And so Aurora is one of these aspects, as "The voice and memory" of the "The Light"
That's similar to my thoughts honestly
When I say "the Light might be the narrator" I mean more like a representation of the Light
Might be AURORA, might be something else
I know
Just wanted to expand your mind a bitđ
Oh yeah I'm sorry I misunderstood
Its very tempting to view "The Light" as a god or a specific person
When its probably something more metaphisical and complex then that
Or maby Im being needlesly pretentious heređ
Oh no really not
I'm just used to debating so I guess I assume that something will be in conflict with what I said or what the person thought I said (I use conflict as a VERY broad term here)
Aaaa, I see
Honestly I know the fealing. Though I wasnt originaly traing to conflict your opinion, mearly expand the scope
AURORA's a God?!
See, this is why I wanted to clarefy things earlyerđ
No, neather Aurora or "The Light"( Megabird) are gods. I know that word can have a much brother meaning, but most of that nuance fly's right out the window for most people, who have a very specific image when they hear it
The Light (Megabird) is more like a living force of nature, not inanimate but also not a person.
It is THEORIZED by SOME that Aurora is a specific manifestation of this force, the voice of Megaird given phisical form into a new seperate being
Aurora is a guest singer in the season.
As far as the lore is concerned, Aurora herself is not canon. However, it is debatable for the role Aurora plays in the season to be canon.
Aurora is a storyteller/narrator. These story telling roles are meta characters who are canon, but can exist outside of the canon whenever the story calls for this.
One example of this would be looking at Jiminy Cricket from Pinocchio.
Jiminy is a story teller at the start of the fairy tale. The character speaks to the audience, which is them breaking the 4th wall (making them a meta character), and tells the story of a puppet who becomes a real boy. For Jiminy to know this, he had to know how it ends, that knowledge would be impossible for characters in the moment of the story to know.
From my understanding with Aurora as she introduces herself in the first song as, "I was a moving thing, before I was a human being. I was the ice before it melts. I was the tree, before it fell. My dear, come near. Do you understand what is happening?" This is her establishing the fact she is not human in the story being told (or sung). Most of the time in these songs, we see Aurora take the form of a ball of light, a memory fragment, and based on her costumes also a butterfly (which I saw as a fantastic reference to the symbology of butterflies. I'd happily go over that if anyone would like to read/discuss that).
Aurora is also known as the Voice of the game's intro and credits. The beginning and the end, a possibly subtle reference to representing a deity of some sorts.
TLDR; while I have reason to believe TGC (Jenova Chen) enjoys working with Aurora (this was mentioned in the livestream interview after they broke 2 world records in the encore concert).
I would be hesitant to say they would idolise her, or make her a god in the game.
Possibly a voice of a character in the game that is a god, or in spirit.
Well thats sort of what I was saying
Calling her a god or related to a god caries all these implications that simply dont aply to her
That Aurora is a collaboration with a IRL singer puts the canonisity of the whole thing in question.
Its in a liminal space where it is and isnt canon depending on weather you with to include it
What I was talking about before was how one would interperate her existance in the case where she IS a canon part of the world, though again, thats up to personal preferance
In the "Aurora Is fully canon" model of the Sky universe, I do belive that Aurora is tightly linked to "The Ligh", not as being it, or a version of it, but simply an aspect of the greater metaphisical whole that makes up "The Light"
Also, in the model where the firts song is also taken as canon, as you did before, the aspect of The Light interpretation would still fit, as light energy flows, interacts with, and is a part of everything to a curtain extenct.
And as the soul's of sky kids were created from The Light itself, before becomeing stars or materialisng into phisical beings, so was Aurora born from a much larger part of The Light
Aurora's body was mad of stone before she emerged for the concert.
I find the butterfly motif in these transformations very interesting.
Perhaps the game is conveying that change is necessary, and some may be for the better, there are some that can lead to far worse outcomes.
No matter which way it goes though, change is inevitable.
A candle will eventually burn out. A loved one will one day pass away. A flower will eventually wilt away; and so on.
The temporary nature of things are beautiful but melancholic (sorry for being a bit deep here. And the bot better not post that silly meme /j)
No no, thats good. When going into deep metaphisics and philosophy, that kind of stuff is......inevitable, as you sayđ
agreed lol
Also. I dont really think I've seen the very very begining of the concertđ¤
Was she a stone like how the body's of the ancesters looks stony before we light them, or was she an actual stone body like a statue
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRykG_1UajA
The song was Exhale Inhale.
I enjoyed the mystery and the potential lore in there. đ
Oh wow, I see what you mean
But I think kinda suports what I was talking about before, with Aurora being an aspect of The Light
This could almost be seen as her takeing shape
Before she was a part of things, a force of nature, a living metaphore, but then she takes takes form, one of a human (aka saintiant sky being like ancesters or sky kids)
Also, just noticed now, she says " Who is calling me? for the emergency. Who is listening? to the sirenas singing" right before she takes mortal shape
Almost like she is compaled to take shape, becouse there is a great need for her to share her message, and becouse now there are enough people to listen to her message
(working theory)
yes.
It is important to take note the songs were written before the season collab was a thing.
Eventhough the songs were selected for the season.
Meaning, the song may not be specifically written for Sky lore. But the song is chosen for the moment, and its meanings can be analysed for lore.
Oh no, thats very much obviaceđ
Just laying down context for anyone who reads along,
You are good
Like I said before, the aurora season is kinda in a liminal space of boath being and not being canon, becouse of the whole colaboration aspect
What we are discusing is all part of the "Aurora is fully canon" cosmollogical model of the sky universe, and interpreting how things could work while seperated from the original IRL context
Some things like the references to humans or her simelareties to IRL Aurora are not taken seriosly in this interpretation
'liminal space' certainly is a good way to describe the scenes in aurora's concert.
I wonder how lorewise this is the ancestors trying to help remember.
Remember what they are here for, where they came from, who they are in a sense.
I kinda see it as looking at the same things through different filters (canon and non canon)
Like the songs, you can look at it as IRL songe chosen to fit the particular scene, or imagine the songs as something that is real and created in the world of sky
Boath are true at the same time, and depend on how you wish to engage with the medium
The whole season I feel works the same way. It is boath a colaboration between the game Sky and the singer Aurora, and something that is a part of the world of sky
If we see Aurora as canon (which I do) she is a bit weird because she is a human (in between the songs) but then a being of the Light apparently
not forgetting to take into account that the devs would also adjust the visuals to the songs.
Using Exhale and Inhale again. Granted we wont see a "siren" in the song. As there are no such thing in the game. However we can take the meaning and apply that to the lore.
The meaning of the 'siren' in the song does represent problems. A call that tempts people.
The 'call' in Sky's case could be the greed for power from darkstone. By mining it all out from the realms, they lead to disastrous accidents. Namely rock falls.
Not as weard as you might think. She IS a being of The Light, but she also manifests in human form
A force of nature and living metaphore one monent, then condenced into a living being of form and personalitu
She could be seen as a guest character paying a visit to the game (or like a guest character in an episode).
Naturally, the series (lore as a whole) would gloss over the plot break of a human from earth (or an asteroid in the Little Prince's case), while still taking some of the events that took place as canon.
Using the cricket from Pinocchio example I used earlier.
Jiminy is canon to the story, but him telling the story is him breaking the 4th wall to engage with the audience. Making the interaction with him talking to the audience non-canon and rather a storytelling mechanism.
Precisely
Though it goes even further then what we see in Pinocchio
Weather its a non canon, semi canon, or fully canon interpretation, on how you choose to engage with the material
You always have the choice to see it as non canon and enjoy it for what it is, but given that this is a lore chanel, the canon interpretation is the one thats more interesting to speculate and discuss about
And in the "In canon' interpretation of Aurora, it is necesery to forget the real world references and the real world singer, and reimagine things from the perspective of the characters in the sky universe
In other worlds
"I would rather see the world, through the eyes of a (sky) child" viewđ¤Łđ¤Łđ¤Ł
of course, the specifics in aurora's season lore goes a bit deeper.
Sky lore is open to interpretation, this means whether people would accept the lore as canon, or not, is up to them.
What does matter is allowing people to explore theories and engage with one another.
(saying this as a generalised context indicator) should someone not agree with a theory, they are welcome to give their side. As long as the conversation stays civil, there is a lot of things people can get done.
If someone were to have trouble staying level headed (letting emotions get out of hand or target someone). It may be best for them to take a moment to reasses and cool down. If it would mean walking away and coming back later, it may be for the best.

I think itâs the second, but they were probably stopping the Eden Diamond from exploding
This document is a good place to start! https://docs.google.com/document/d/12XSkaMV_5UYG-an_Qo37ItyKP6GaqBBA6iRqBVE2qck/edit
Tbh, I think thereâs no reason for Aurora to not be canon
True, but it good to consider all views
I love that quote.
through the eyes of a child. Not act like a child.
It is a lot like a saying I adore from the Little Prince , "All grown-ups were once children⌠but only few of them remember it"
There are other sayings that goes along the same lines.
Growing up does not mean you suddenly change, because the child you once were is someone to be cherished.
One should not forget that.
Honestly on that note, the Little Prince canonisity kinda works in a similar maner to Aurora, as likely all future colaborations would
TGC did say that the Little Prince and Aurora were notable influences to the lore of Sky. đ
Yup, now if we could only get a Ghibly colabâşď¸
It would probably never happenđ
but.....
Going off topic for a bit.
I'd love to be part of a convo about the number 4 in Sky.
There are so many references and patterns referring to this number, it is not funny.
It could may as well be the illuminati pyramid in Sky at this rate.
If anyone would disagree, I'd humbly challenge you to disprove that theory.
Because here is but a tip of an iceberg of references to that number.
- four boats in
EdenDawn - spirits in some seasons (not including the guide)
- four corners make a square or a diamond/star (yes, this counts)
- four thorns on the rose guide for little prince (concept art supports this )
- seasons per year
...and more....
well, 4 and 6 (and also 7)
Segnificant numbers are preaty comman in mythology and fantasy mediums
Just look at the Norse and number 9, or the middle east (including Christianity and all it influenced) and the number 7, or the Maya and 20.....
Not to mentione the Nahuas and Navajo and the number 4
even here, the same culture could have more then a single segnificant number, just as sky probably has a few that all show different meanings
I was flying around the citadel and I the entrance to the flying race, I spotted this, and noticed how it both looks like the bells and king turret statues in wasteland.
Could the king have taken their likeness from usurping the bells, wanting to control the light creatures, as the bells do with their calls to bells?
Top of the flying race in citadel
Interesing observaion
Although Im not entirely shure if the king was wanting to copy the look of the light bells
Though it would be on brand for the man, as he had already pasicly apropriated the imagery of the symbol for The Light as his own
I've never connected them before, it was only due to seeing something that looked a little like both on the top of the gate in valley
With the Valley, I do think those are more decoratice and invoke the style of the sky bells in Priery and other early regions, and otherwise have no function
It posible that in earlyer periods, there was a temple here that had functioning bells that helped regulate the flow of air and light energy through the region, but wth the increased prosperaty of the realm and the mastery of crystal technology to power everything, the remple was expanded or rebuild and the bell shapes are now just for decorations
Or they see bells and chimes as rustic or antiquated technology as they have the darkstone crystals now to power things, like cars to horse and cart.
exactly
Also, what I was saying before, you can kinda see the king takeing the imagery of The Light and crysals, and incorporating them into his own symbolysm
Great observation! At first i was skeptical but the same zigzag pattern at the base of the bells definitely indicates a link between prairie and gw bells. Though i don't think there's any link between that and the silhouette of the King.
Yes! Based on the fact that in Eden both Light and Diamond shields are displayed at the entrance room before the second area + based on the timeline established by Salem with Ancestors knowing each other or not, the king probably came to birth after Sky world already sinking into pollution, perhaps wars too.
With the King who came to be he probably united the divided Sky world and was therefore perceived as the savior (not that it wasn't foretold by the prophecy already), hence the King symbol being mixed between diamond and the light.
btw i was playing and im taking a look at the aurora season quest at wasteland
our main character of the story is a medic to help the injured soldier from the battle field
king's soldier throwing spear as the medic is helping the soldier
he save one of them and get back to the battle field to save another soldier
but one of the spear hit the medic and he cant move
so the other soldier help the medic up and carry him to the camp
but as they're escaping the krill appear and chasing they
and they escaped succesfully
now i know this info i can sure that they start using krill already when the war is going
cause when we open the gate of the castle it summon 3 krill which is use to fight the ancestor and they go into the castle for the krill to handle the war
this horn also may be the one to summon the krill
Whereâs that horn from?
lol, tell that to a moth and see them run (not fly) for the hills whenever you hold it out. XD
Season of Shattering, spirit: Ancient Darkness
So cool! I think you are correct. Could the horn perhaps be made from a dark dragon? Maybe from one of their âantennaeâ
It is called a Krill horn. It may be one of the horns than the 'nose' or 'head'
Nice
Sense weâre on the topic of krill, and sense I just started playing 4 days ago and know basically no lore or lore theories, what are the krillâs goals? Like, did they take over places that belonged to spirits? If so, why? And what do they have against light creatures?
oh
Well, for starters, they are canonically called Dark Dragons. Krill is a nickname given to them by players that stuck with the devs. This is why you may hear both names used interchangeably.
They are dark creatures, they hunt Light because they hunger for it. They attack any light creature (including mantas). When they hit skykids, I presume that the krill are meant to eat the winged light of out skykids. But the devs thankfully allowed us to have a chance to reclaim them before they break.
They are ruthless, restless and can live in darkwater, burried in the sand (at least that is where the game keeps them when they come out to ambush players), and they have 9 eyes (the 9th eye is the spotlight). And they have 12 pairs of legs.
I figured out they were called Dark Dragons yesterday in a YouTube video! I did not know that they can come out of the sand tho đ thatâs terrifying. I havenât been swimming in the game yet, so thatâs something Iâll have to look out for.
this is probably where the krill is the created
its the creation from the ancestor demand by the king
the ancestor trap the light creature and do experiment on them
making them corrupted into krill
and the king use them in battle to battle againt who try to stop him
but then king krill (the third pic) break the lab and allow most of the lab light creature escape to prairie
If you are (un)lucky, you may catch them "come out to play" at the battlefield.
I have not exactly found their 'hidey spots', but they either come out of dark water ponds, or the sand dunes.
This is assumingly a bug for when the switch at the temple gates is activated (either because of a merge or whatever other reason), and the event is triggered.
It makes reliving the Aurora Seed of Hope memory all the more interesting when the actual krill appear alongside the memory one. lol
đ
lorewise, possibly.
Gamewise, the Krill are one of the first threatening hostile dark creatures to be in the game.
Depending on what you believe happened in the history of the realms, it is possible for krill to become corrupted in Eden.
When the Eden crystal shattered.
However, it may be possible for other creatures in other realms to become corrupted.
i dont think they corrupted after the explosion is because the king's soldier spear are shown in the memory
and the krill come after
which lead me to this theory and i found it fitting
I think that the krill existed before the fall of Eden; they just became way more populous and aggressive because they thrive in the ruined environments of the Wasteland and Eden. They like places with a lot of darkness
this is the mural that shown that they're doing the experiment on the light creature
I also think the crabs existed before the fall of Eden - they because aggressive when corrupted by darkness dripping from the krill
So either the ancestors made the krill or the krill existed before and the ancestors just made more of them
this could be it too
An interesting theory is, if there is such a thing as Dark Dragons. There is also a possibility of there once existed Light Dragons.
there already is
this one might be the krill and the first one might be the king krill
That is a whale (or if you like to call it King Tuna)
Mantas seem to be the counterpart to crabs, so it makes sense that krill are the counterpart to
And that is an Elder Manta
(gotta try a lot harder than that to stump a vet /j)
I always called those whale things arowanas
So is elder manta a predecessor to the arowana? Or is it that mantas become elder mantas and fish become arowanas? Or maybe there is a fork in the manta life cycle where they can become either elder mantas or arowanas?
for now i only can see the resemblem between king tuna and king krill
but for now i didnt really saw any light creature that are krill like
which only lead me to a mutated manta
There is a creature that somewhat resembles the krill, albeit it is a bit of stretch whether they are actually related.
There is an lone eel-like creature swimming in the ruins of Treasure Reef (season of Abyss).
It has a long body, at least 3 pairs of limbs, several eyes (4 or 8 of them as far as I can recall) and has some history in the game.
It was once as large as the leviathan creature you find under the treasure reef (or in the tank if you have not done the quests yet), and used to fly in the clouds back in Light Awaits.
It has seemingly been replaced by the whale during development updates (to my understanding), and seeing it in the reef is a nice little relic of the past.
I like to think the krill came before eden as biomechanical weapons for war. They got corrupted by eden and turned against everything light.
btw we dont really see any quadwing/hexwing/elder outside of prairie
and we only see them in the mural in abyss season map
which lead me to they're mutated from the experiment by the ancestor
My personal hc is that they were made to be guardians but then they were made fight against the people by the king and then they finally got corrupted by edenâs shattering
That and another reason why I believe the eel-like creature (that is just my nickname for them btw) is in concept art, it seems like that they might have been the light dragons.
If not, then they were place holders, or an early version of these ancient dragons (again, nickname)
I think theyâre just naturally predatory towards creatures of light
quadwings could be the "Greater Manta" in the game.
They have 2 pairs of wings.
(last one)
One can go wild with fan fics about Sky combined with Journey.
(btw, Sky is a spiritual successor of Journey. Meaning they may not be in the same universe, but given they are from the same company and have similar themes. They may have influenced Sky in some way).
These stone guardians/war machines/serpents are just as menacing as the krill.
Wow. New hc, sky is just journey in an alternate universe. We have entered the multiverse
i saw the journey gameplay after i played sky
and i burst out laugh after i notice how this two game are so similar
i love it
Sky be like Journey, but someone hit the Restart button.
Canonically, they sadly cannot be connected to the same universe.
However, we can still see what TGC took from that game and carried over to this game.
#lore-discussion-spoilers message
"Sky is a spiritual successor to Journey, but that doesn't mean it's beholden to the story told in Journey."
Straight from a dev's mouth (are those sharp spike poking out from that trench coat?)
Well there is also another possability to consider
Perhaps the krill werent specificly created by the king, but were insted born from the collective death, spilled blood (light), dark water and negative emotions all concenteated in one place
They might have been way fewer at the start, but really exploded in number when the edan diamond exploded
This is the "natural proces" hypothesis, where krill are in a way phisical manifestation of the greed, sorrow and rage of the ancesters.
What if the Krill used to be white? And Friendly before it turned dark
I sevearly doubt itđ
That seames to be the case for crabs, which is why they function so differently from them, but krill....not really
What if the original Krill died and became dark Shadow
Krill seam to be earher specific light creatures corupted and twisted by darkness, or a mass of light creature remains, darkness, and concentrated negative thoughts reaching a critical mass and producing them
How did the Child stay children instead of becoming adults
All the places we see Krill hounting are places that experianced mass death and conflict
Well the children of the ancesters did grow up
The children of light and "sky kids" seam to be something different
Do they ever grow up??
Hard to say
There hasent been enough time since the first arival
Will we ever find out??
The fact that we are constantly reincarnating, becomeing pure light, faling to earth and materialising new ones makes it unlikely will see a grown up sky kid in the specific period the game takes place
There is curently no clear evidence for or against it at the moment, only speculation
Perhaps seeing the lifecycle of the ancesters and there relationship to sky kids in the upcomeing animated series will shed some light on the subject
I donât think they ever will
When they spawn how old are the children??
Physically they donât grow, but they could increase in maturity
I dont think age is really a thing for sky kids as it is for usđ
Sky kids (and for that mater the acesters) dont have "organic body's
Our souls are pure light, the same as the stars in the sky, and when we fall down to earth we basicly materialize a body around the souls
This is a body of earth, with the exact substance ranging between charcole, clay and wax depending on who you ask.
So the body itself is very maluable, and like @sharp lichen said, the only factor that really maters is maturiry
Skykids be like the lost children from Neverland.
Kind ofđ
Anyone know any good vids on YouTube about sky colt lore? I really Wanna learn more about it

Thank uuuu
GUYS I HAVE A THEORYYYYYY
i think when tgc said event items will come back at a different time i think they will show up in the place with the aviary cosmetics!
Once the season ends, that place will be used for the old event items that will come back at a different time!!
That's why the place has a emblem sign thingy in the entrance! The sign symbol will chance according to the items from other events that will be there!
That honestly makes me hyped instead of dissapointed by those news
but they already appear around in abyss
and theres like
large amount of them inside the tower
which let me think they corrupted the light creature into krill and trap them
also there's one spirit memory shown that a smoller krill appear there too
Why is Eden so industrialized compare to other area? With giant pipes and such
its where the king live
and wasteland too
i think its because they need water but most of the water are already pollutionate
they either get the water from somewhere else or trying to filter the water
I posted this in the screenshots channel too-
The presence of a beak on the elder manta makes me believe that it is a stage mantas reach before they become whales - so whales are even older elder mantas
or it may just be a similar structure that elder mantas have in common with whales
The elder manta has more weight around its middle than regular mantas, so itâs not a stretch to say that the whale is just their final form, or the largest they can get
I forgot about the mantatees. How do they fit in this equation? Itâs all up to speculation in the end
Thats a good point.
Again, the true origin is up for debate, and the "krill war machene" theory is a perfactly valid one for nowâşď¸
But there might be some things you could consider
1 The abyss was, like the Forest Temple and the factory's of Waistland and Edan, a crystal production faciluty
We see carts full of crystal, boath ore and refined, and lifts to transport them all over the place, meaning this city once produced crystals and crystla tech on a scale that surpasses any other facility that ever existed.
The place was an entire city dedicated to crystal extraction/production and cutting edge resurch.
2 While not originaly starting that way, advanced late era factory's made crystals by sacreficing light creatures like mantas, draining them of all there life force in order to make the crystals.
In older times this was done by farming light and storing them in jars like we see in Priery and there trade with Forest, but this was too little to suport the more advanced and prosperous kingdom.
Abyss reasurchers seamed to push this even further, keeping mantas as cattle and experimenting on them to make them bigger faster
When you combine all dark waist from the factory's, the bones of the mantas, and all the collective negative emotions of the sacreficed mantas, you produce a krill
And given that this was city was likely once an island in the middle of the sea, they would have had to contain all of that waist in specific locations. There was likely one giant pit where most of the waist and bones were tightly packed, and that crytical mass of darness gave birth to the 1000 eyed beast
That's horrible
Why this make me think that abyss area is a testing area.
I Headcanon them being able to age
Well, it kinda is.
The abyss ( or whatever it was called back then) was prabably what known as a "factory city" where everything is centered around a single trade, and serving those that take part in it
Digging and refining darkstone, producing crystals, crystal trade, and of course cutting edge resurch in boath crystal technology and methods of increasing and bettering production
Hey all, question for you. If Sky adopted cultivation and realms, what do you think Sky kids reach up to at this point? Fun answers only. ;D
I...kinda underatand what your asking, but Im not 100% shuređ
Can you explain better what you mean by "cultivation and realms". Is it like what skykid sociaty is would be like if they made one?đ
omg thank you for all those detail info
i know what they're doing but just can't quite get right about the detail
Np dearâşď¸
Again, this is just my interpretation at the moment, as I like the idea of darkness and light being natural forces, as well as the dark creatures being in a way a phisical manifestation of the consequences brought by the dark path of the ancesters
But like I said before, diffinetive evidence is still very rear, and the "krill war machene" theory is not fully disprovenâşď¸
i kinda like the idea about negative emotion produce krill
which can explain for how they're not really related to any light creature from their look
Well, they probably are related to them
Not so much phisicly, but rather the light memories of light creatures that had been consumed by darkness
It seames to be in the nature of darkness to only consume and destroy, while never giving anything back or being satesfied
wait i have to look into the abyss map again
cause i remember theres a part where only we can swim room by room but the krill can't
that might be for trapping krill after they discover it
This is much more evident in dark plants, who seam to work almost like a fungus, growing by draining the light energy from within the earth, the atmosphere, or insnearing light creatures and slowly draining them ( kinda like venus fly trapsđ )
They consume, grow, and them consume more.
They desire the light for energy, but only when they consume and conquer it.
Otherwise intence light hurts them, which is probably why you only find them in dark places
When we burn plants, we release all the light that they have stolen, and return it back to the cycle of light
I might end up doing it too actuallyđ¤
wanna add each other?
we can just look around the map together can maybe discover new thing
There is more I can say about krill flight paterns and there singleminded obsessive nature, but I have to go now
aww ok
Np dearâşď¸
Id love thatđ
now that u said it
krill are follow the same path again and again while the manta are flying freely
it might just be the game machanic for not confused player but
Like I said, I have to go now, but maby dm me later and we can continue this
Like I said, I have to go now, but maby dm me later and we can continue this
We could meet up in sky later too if you likeâşď¸
sure
I actualy made a whole post about this exact topic some time agođ
see, right heređ
Loving this theory, haven't seen too many in-depth ones myself on Treasure Reef
Maybe Treasure Reef was where they discovered Krills and Golden Wasteland started trying to make them?
Or perhaps the Krills came about same way as the Leviathan did
Or they went over to the Treasure Reef and ruined it (Although that honestly looks more like the Leviathan's doing)
its seams more like the Leviathan was somehoow created in the treasure reaf by accident.
They probably tried to contain and study it at first, but it proved to dangerous and eventually destroyed the entrire island, sinking most of it under water
Ooo possibly
Another theory could be that the Leviathan broke loose and destroyed the entire island, sinking most of it under water, but survivors were able to trap it before fleeing (or dying :c)
So basically what you said but other way around
oooo, that could would make sence.
Would explain why he was traped before we come to the reef
It probably took everything they got to trap the Laviathan again after it begone its path of destruction
Would explain how why there are murals showing the laviathan destroying the island
Yeah since the murals seem to be a popular way of recording history (other than the memory lanterns in Vault), those who remained did all they could to lock it up and probably died doing so or fled when they were finished
Which is why the Abyss crew had no idea what they were getting into... very few survivors + the whole Eden thing made the story of what happened to Treasure Reef not very well known
I wonder what they used to call it
As for the person makeing the murals of the Laviathan destruction....đ
the name was probably lost to timeđ
It likely wasnt known to most people outside the island in the first place
Yeah I can imagine the Realm rulers wanted to keep the whole exploitation and experimentation on light creatures on the down low
Probably
Its questionable if all the Elders were on the up and up on that place in the first place
Like, they knew they were doing resurch and experimentation, which leed to record crystal production, but they were perhaps not aware of the detales that went into itđ¤
Maybe it was like some knew, some didn't, some chose to pretend that it wasn't going on?
And some knew, but didnt really know all more...critical factsđ
I still believe the white one-eyed creature in Two embers -related clips to be predecessor to krills
One-eyed creature?

How did I miss thatđ¤
You have any pictures of it, I wanna see it

In the switch trailer for example
The big thing that tows the wagon thing
Thats just a mantađ¤¨
I know it isnt 100% 1:1 with how it looks in the game, but nether are krabs, ancesters, and the world as a whole
The animations show things as they look in-universe, free from (most) graphical limitations
Actually I personally doubt that it's a manta
If we followed the Krill war machine theory, perhaps that creature really could be related in some way to Krills
Since they were already used for transport to move around, why not transport during war? Similar to how horses were used as cavalry
And then eventually they made Krills
Now even if we didn't follow the Krill war machine theory, I feel like it looks much too different from a manta to just be how they're supposed to look in-universe
You know looking at it again I think your right.
But I still not convinced that this creature is what turned into the Krill
this seams to me another species in the manta class, just as the manatee, which was still not introdiced in the game
Maybe the Krills were based off of them?
Like they have their look and the manta's capability to fly
Wouldn't be impossible for them to create a whole new creature
its possibleđ¤
we will have to wait and see
No but iirc it is in both Two embers trailers, at least the Switch Sky trailer starts with it as they travel in a cabin on its back
It's close to the Elder manta
But is the Elder manta even a manta? Is the name Elder manta official?
Yes I understand, @icy wing explained it to međ
Its been so long since I have seen it that I have forgoton it
Its official in the sky wiki and concept art
Its why I thought this creature was part of the manta family
Wait where can Elder manta be seen?
The whale? I thought it was whale but now I see it's got some kind of legs
Or rather atrophied legs
Its posible the creature we see is a smaller species of the elder manta, or a transitional phase betweem mantas and elder manta, as it has 6 wings
As in, a proper civilization? I donât think Skykids could ever, as them doing so could make them repeat the same fate as the Ancestor Spirits
Itâs very interesting how Sky is a rejection of the âeternal youth=badâ and âimmortality=badâ that pervades throughout media
i think the classifications of sky creatures get a bit silly tbh
if only bc the "whale" in sanctuary looks like what i would assume an Elder Manta would eventually look like, meanwhile "actual" whales (like the one in hidden forest's underground cavern) might be Elder Fish (?) or somethin. we do have an Elder Bird (that we havent seen since rythm and soorta flight), and imo the one eyed creature from the trailer looks like an older(?) manatee. thats not to say they didnt eventually become or inspire krills, but it can be difficult figuring out what light creatures are separate species to what, especially when we are also comparing them to our own world's creatures
....imagine an Elder Butterfly
Yeah the manatees don't fit anywhere in the classification of mantas too
I dont think you can relly on real world animals and there classification to figure out the relationships between sky
The "whale" is not a whale like creature that exiets in sky, its a creature that in aperance resembles a real world whale
Though its true that its tricky to figure out how sky classification would work, its still possible to speculate on it
Ultimatly we will need to wait and see if the animation shows us how sky creature reproduction and evolution works to be shure, as we dont know for curtain how much we can trust the concept art on this topic
The wiki is not a source for those things, the wiki is useful but it's not official
The same way we have to remember that krills are not named krills but dark dragons
If the creature doesn't have an official name, it will be called by the fandom and it's the name that will stay
And for the concept arts, I don't like to use them personally because not all of it has been used
The name might be what was used to refer to the creature while it was created (and is still used for us) but that doesnât mean that it is still the name of the creature now
Well yes, but if we compleatly disregard boath concept art and the wiki, we dont have much official naming of anythingđ (as far as creatures are consern)
We gotta work with the sorces and evidence we do have
We cant just decise something is this and that just becouse we want it to beđ
Sometimes saying we dont know and work with what we have is all we can do
We do have mantas, whales, dark dragons, jellyfish dark crabs, dark shadows (possibly?), birds and probably butterfly and fish (don't necessarily want to to look everywhere just for that)
That's most of them
The only creatures actually not named are the Elder Manta and the Leviathan I think
And mantatees
I'm once again here to remind that the trial creatures are "officially" named Wisps
They are called dark shadows on the wiki with the mention that other names are made by fans
I assumed that it was official
They're still named anyway
I mean the wiki is managed by the fandom sooo
Actual mantas we see in game seem to be only wings and tail
The Elder manta has a big body and a grey, apparently hard head which other mantas lack
(I went through everything I could to verify that and the only place I could find where mantas have grey heads is concept arts)
Yeah but if every name is mentionned as given by fans except one, itâs easy to assume that it is official
On the same page with every creature mentionned, the only one with an actual name (the Leviathan is mentionned as Abyss Monster and the blue eel as blue eel which are not really names but descriptors) that's mention to not be official are mantatees with a little notation explaining where the name comes from
I looked up Wisps and found some stuffs interesting about the term itself:
In folklore, a will-o'-the-wisp, will-o'-wisp, or ignis fatuus, is an atmospheric ghost light seen by travellers at night, especially over bogs, swamps or marshes. The phenomenon is known in much of European folklore by a variety of names, including jack-o'-lantern, friar's lantern, and hinkypunk, and is said to mislead travellers by resembling a flickering lamp or lantern.
In literature, will-o'-the-wisp metaphorically refers to a hope or goal that leads one on, but is impossible to reach, or something one finds strange or sinister.
my brain is gonna explode from the new season area. Why is it like a desecrated home area its so sad
The fact that wisp could refer to " a hope or goal that leads one on, but is impossible to reach" could potentially foreshadow the King's impossible ambition to save the kingdom, or, the phophecy's idea of The One that saves the kingdom
wait is the king lore back? Is there more of it now? I love that stufffff
Uhmm wdym back the king lore was never gone
I know but i havent heard people talking about it for a lil while so i just assumed more stuff was found or smth
Yeah I was doing a research on the server and saw that
That's interesting of course but they're only seen in one place and in one very specific situation
The trials also might not be actual physical places and they're the only creatures seen in all of them
So the name might not be relevant and only be here because that's what they look like in the darkness of the trial (not dismissing it at all, just bringing another perspective)
Hmmm i don't think new lore has been found since the animation's trailer
We just happen to notice and connect more things ig
Ok, I will give you thatđ đ
The lore channel goes in cercle honestly
Many people are new and ask very similar questions so we usually go back to the same topics
The King being one of them
omg i love that trailer so much its so cool
Ikrrr
(I will admit that I ommited a large number of creatures but they're either not that important or, like the turtle, itâs literally just a turtle)
there's no helping it honestlyđ
Us lore veterans need to learn to be more patiant and acomodating to newcomers
They want to learn lore as much as we like to descuss it
Yes
It's how it is and how it will always be
When I first came here I had to ask questions even though I already had a pretty good grasp on the lore by playing by myself
We all did it
Speaking of the trailer, is that the Aviary guide???
Probably
Its possible
Its beem speculated by a lot of people that the long haired "ember" is the Aviary guide
Though we will have to wait and see if there's more to conect them, as right know its just "porbably" status
I honestly thought there was only one character originally in the trailer but at different stages
looking at the interview, it preaty much a fact that these are 2 different characters
I never saw that...
I colaged together everything related to the animation from the interview
This is as true and canon fact as it could possibly getđ
Yeah
I saw that too. I'm actually really surprised by the possible theory that the 2 Embers could be the Aviary guide and Resh, bc considering how in the interview both are referred to as kids, and Aviary guide still exist today as a kid so i figured they would exist in 2 timeframes, or 2 different periods, with Resh who was born before and became an adult (a King) while Aviary guide is born at near the end of Sky civilization.
I really hope thats true
For my personal preferance, I really hope they dont condence the history of sky and its most inportant events to a single generation
Haveing 2 different periods to cut back to would give the world a proper scale of time
thats so cool!
It was always there, idk what youâre talking about
Yeah, thereâs the king and the Hopeful Steward
Building off the fact that the last part of the new season area looks like a desecrated home area, what if the second âhome areaâ is the home area for spirits? It makes sense because look at the similarities. The first and second home area have portal structures. The place where you can see your constellations is also in the second home area; you also canât forget the Eden statues. It even has an Eden door! Spirits with the spirit memories cannot be in the sky kid home area unless the spirit âtravelsâ there (hence, travelling spirits)
And what Iâm thinking is that skykids could not access the spirit home area until the season of revival, which is when the hopeful steward was able to build another portal in the skykid home area!
It very much feels like this village was in a way the "Original Home"
The place where the kid from the aurora Isle memory sailed from to come to sky
Looking at the map Aviary its closer to Isle of down then Home. Even with the wonkey proportions, that still has to count for something
You probably shouldn't say that
I and probably many other people have been trying to stay off beta spoilers (even though I couldn't avoid this)
Yeah like way to spoil the game đ
Your rightđ
Im terebly sorry about that

Keep beta stuff in beta channels so that the people who are playing the live version can avoid spoilers đ
Ok, Im sorry,
I know it wasnt right for me to say this
It's alright people make mistakes
No need to be negative
In my defence I had already said that this was what I belived will happen way before any bata people revealed it
Nobudy wanted to belive me back thenđ
Iâm just saying that beta players need to let live players enjoy the game đ
Who said I was a beta playerđ
I am a victim of unwanted spoilers as you are
And you think that means you can spoil everything for everyone else? đ¤¨
I mean they are, mind you that peope enjoy knowing stuffs in advanced too, not everyone who watches beta stop enjoying the game. Just gently warn people you're avoiding it and no need to get mad at them
No, I hardly said anyting
I could have said way more, but wanted to be as vegue as posible
It's alright, just know that we don't discuss beta content outside of beta channels and you're good to go đ
Besides, everything I did say was something I already said long before beta spoilers,
Im just saying that I was right đ
But I still apologise for my actions
It was selfish and was not right to spoil others on it

About the term 'generations' - do we know how long Sky people live, I mean they could live like thousand years or any length of time, which can potentially omit the concept of generations
btw i found someone guessing how the krill is born
and this suddenly blow my mind
https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1QS4y1Q7pH/?spm_id_from=333.788.recommend_more_video.-1
using the spine as krill leg
also krill in chinese are call ĺĽéž
which are dark dragon
and we call the whales ç˝ĺĽéž
as white dragon
The ancestor spirits probably lived and died like us, but the Skykids are most likely immortal
so its possible that krill really are just whales bones getting corrupted
Well, when I said generation, its mostly used it as short hand for short time
I didnt want them to make all of inportant sky history in the span of less then a century. Like they found the darkstone and sudenly everything changed
We already sow Rings of Power condence there timelineđ
Yes I c. But there's also the possibility that even if same people are performing the events, there could be many centuries in between, just like in LOTR related lore
I guess I've gravitated towards the other end, seeing also the elder peoples more like elves in that they might live on through different eras
That is exactly what Im talking about
In LOTR you got inportant events that hapen over short periods of time, but between them you got history where those events play out and have consequences over time, before the next major event
While in the Rings of Power, the entire history of the rings is condenced within a single lifespan
again, not really talking about ancestors generations, but timespan
It helps me if I place here and there (in my mind) the text couple of decades/centuries later
exactly
I want that
I want sky to have periods and eras
time for events to play and develope naturaly and not have everything condenced
That would make the world more interesting
Yes, but even if they would be represented as condensed, it needn't mean there weren't decades or centuries lapsing in between. Said text could be added by the viewer, when necessary.
Well that would mean the timeline isnt condenced
You got inportant events where a lot of stuff happenes, but if you say "decades or centurys later" you still got proper time and history for consequences to play out naturally
This is exactly what I hope to seeđ
That's one way to make it un-condensed. A tool for you or anyone really.
I like how the eden gate lines up with the Avairy portal in the two images.
Oh that's interesting
Krills are dark dragon in most languages probably
But whales being light dragons is extremely interesting
I wonder...
Would this maybe the case because the whale replaced a different creature during development in Light Awaits (note, this is just a theory I had cooking for a while, not canon nor confirmed sadly)
In older version of Light Awaits, there seemed like plans for a different creature to appear in the realms as the skykids traveled to Eden.
This may have been foreshadowing for the fight with the King against the creature.
But seeing how that changed over the updates in development, the creature was replaced by the whale.
I call this the creature, as I don't know it's true name.
I would love to call them light dragons, or eels, but sadly have not found evidence to support this. And wanted to be sure before talking about it with newer fans to the game.
That said, this creature has not been in the game for a long time since it was removed in Light Awaits.
However, it has returned đ
It is much much smaller than its original size, but you can find them swimming in the waters of Treasure Reef's ruins. It has a long body, 3-4 pairs of fins, a rounded face/head, and a flayed tail. It leaves bubble trails and occasionally makes a sound as it swiftly and gracefully swims in the water.
Moved to #beta-discussion per request.
aw a gremlin
Love your pfp and username
ah oof.
Please be careful talking about features in beta.
Anything that has not made to the live game yet is sadly of limits here.
Ah, #gameplay-discussion-spoilers is leaking
As well as #beta-discussion, please put it there, as this does not cover beta
The pictures themselves are ok.
They barely cross that line.
The message you typed does sadly reveal a bit of info best to keep in beta channels.
If its any consolation, I think this is fantastic and your absolutly right

But yeah, maby save this for after the 5th quest comes out in Aviary
I already got into trouble before for stuff like thisđ
As a vet (at least that is what I believe I am after playing for 3 years, learning about the lore all the way back to Light Awaits, knowing a good amount of its features in and outside of the game, namely the merch and live streams)
I understand how a portion of the vets would be a bit bitter about changes in the game.
There will always be people who may get upset at something.
This is regardless of the change mind you.
It can be an improvement, a nerf, a simple change or a brand new mechanic.
The thing that makes this community so much more wholesome than others I knew of is the love players shared with each other. The friends they made (and lost) along the way.
Good vets are patient, knowledgeable (or wise), and caring. How they show this may vary, but good vets do what they can to help moths enjoy the game. Mostly because maybe they had a brilliant experience with a vet when they were moths.
Where does one go to read all the lore??
Was it bully viksa day? /j
I saw the older messages, I do agree that Aviary does feel like home.
Partly because there are the portals, and eden gate. But also the reputation Aviary had in the olden days.
It may be a home to some players if they like think of it like that.
Ahhh sorry. Iâll move it. Thanks for letting me know.
Will do
I'd like this Aviary to be my new home. Even though we're not on the 2nd quest right now I find myself constantly going back and just relaxing with the Steward cause ik they got secrets SNEEP SNORP
- I love how misty and grey it is. Can't wait to see how it'll change over time and the "multi-year" development plan they have for it.
pinned messages may be one place to start, there is also lore docs users here have posted before.
try using the search feature of Discord.
In this channel with keyword "lore doc"
Baud is usually an mwp with lore docs, as well as other users.
Word of the wise:
Take your time and go at your own pace.
The lore is open to interpretation, and it has a good amount of history and theories surrounding it.
(sorry for double ping) was trying to post a gif
all good đ
There we go! Goodness sakes.
Ah, well, I dont seem to be able to post in the beta discussion, but i might try putting in on tumblr or something. Thanks for those who read it while they could and apologies if I spoiled anything for anyone.
From what I read, the images you screenshotted were fine.
The last bit is a bit too much on the nose for an upcoming feature.
If you like to bring this up in lorechat. You are more than welcome to when it reaches the live game.
Sorry it had to be taken down.
Otherwise, you (or whoever you took the screenshots of) can mention this here, just be mindful not to mention the new stuff just yet.
The eel?
Gotcha. And no worries, when the updates roll out i might post it here again.
This creature from Abyss Treasure Reef.
This is a video from Light Awiats showing the same creature, but its original size in one of the updates in Light Awaits' development.

What's this
Whale sceleton
A small one at least
You'll find way bigger ones in Waistlans, along with other sky megafauna that are now extinct
very goofy looking whlae skull
well, by whale I mean this thingđ
If not, then its a creature very similar to it
Ok I had an idea. So skykids are made from starlight, meaning their bodies for the most part are (physically) a form of light. In real life light bounces off things and thatâs how we can perceive stuff because thereâs light hitting everything. So when a skykid slams into a wall or the ground at top speed and a human would be injured, they just bounce off it because their bodies react like light. Although that doesnât account for being able to interact and walk without bouncing like on a trampoline, so maybe the body is solid but has light-like habits, like glowing and reacting like light when put in danger
In my headcanon Sky kids are stone bodies with light inside of them
not quite
Sky kids souls are made of light, and are refeared to as stars
Sky kids body's are made of earth. We are basicly a fusion of the earthly and the heavenly
Ah, damn it, oh well I have like 2 other theories for it anyway
Exactly what kind of substance the body of sky kids is when they materialize is up to personal interpretation
Some say wax, some say clay...
The only thing we know is that ancester bodies are similar to charchole, a earthy substance that houses the flame of life within
Does the same aply to sky kids.....who knowsđ
I usually get a lot of down votes when I make this comparison, so I aint touching this
Fair enough, thx for the insight, I donât have a lot of knowledge on actual lore within the community , I just have a looooot of headcanons
the only info we know is when we fly and bump into walls
we make a TING sound
that's interesting, i didn't know that where is this from by the way?
if it's concept are i've never seen in on zhao's website
Old concept art
u can see them at this website
https://www.tomzhao.com/sky1
And before I get cancled for makeing potential beta spoilers again, just take my word for it when I say the concept in the art is still legit in the curent canon đ
turret is cannon?
the king give wasteland elder the fire element and he create the turret to protect the kingdom
i thought they scrap the idea about turret
Not entirely shure if the fire element is what gave them the power for the turentsđ
Thats still probably crystal tech
The elementals seam more like blesings apon the realms then an elemental power to be used
(the blesing of courage in this case, which made Waistland people great warriors and sailors)
oh ye that make more sense for them having the blessing instead of just using the element to create stuff
yes and no.
Turrets do exist in sky, but they dont fire at skykids or light creatures in the game.
It would be interesting if they could as a hazard in the game
Most of turrents probably got retconed out of existance somehwere between the early concept art period and Light Awaitsđ
Still, in my personal headcanon, I like to think that something similar did exist, but most of them got destroyed in the early phases of the war, so thats why we dont see themđ
Interstingly enouth the canons on the Castle Temple are still canon, so we do know they had firepower
Lorewise, they could have run out of power/fuel/energy.
I would love for an event/season where skykids could somehow (or accidently) activate some, or find some active ones somewhere.
Just to see them in action.
Also, I have a headcanon that these turrets can down flying ships.
Especially with considering there are broken boats in the graveyard not far from the battle field. More or less in line with the temple's turrets.
I was thinking the same thing too

Also, I think that most of the energy would have been used up killing the sky megafauna, and further depleated when by the early stages of the following war
With the suply chains from the factory's broken, energy weapons would have been downed, and more classical warfair persisted in the late stages of the war
Aslo, funny you should mention thatđ
I do have a (admitadly unfinished) sky story, focusing on sky kids accidentaly activating the canonsđ
wanna see it?
True....
Makes me wonder if the skeletons higher up the mountain (like the starry desert's Little Prince well area) could be creatures too injured to reach Eden. đ
oh my word, you have a good point there.
Imagine that ruined structure with the mechanism we theorise could be used to forge or power dark stone diamonds, was destroyed to starve the turrets. 0.0
My thought exactly
Thats all a part of war.
The castle was build to be totaly inpenitrable by anything, but given enough time it would have been starved of power, and then it was only a mater of time
When I first realized this a long time ago, I kinda got this idea of an opening cinematic
It starts with an aerial pan of the battlefield, showing different areas and lingering on a menacing shot of the towers.
Only sound is the blowing of the wind, and then the sound of awakening krill in the distance as we slowly pan down to see a small group of skykids entering the temple, the gate shooting with behind them right as a krill was preparing to charge.
Withing the temple the kids rest for some time before continuing on their journey
(Lighting the candles, praying in front of the altar and getting the blessing of the elder)
Most of that is in the background however, as the scene focuses on one of the kids who wandered off in the temple for a bit, and purely by accident spots something deeper in the ruins of the temple.
As the dore that leads to Vault opens, the kids notice one of them is missing.
They call for him, and he calls back, leading them through the less traveled parts of the temple, and to a dore in the wall that he just opened.
Now all of them are curious, the group travel up a long flight of stone stares to an area nobody has seen before, and that they don't fully understand.
Some of the constructs and architecture in the chamber do remind them of elements they've seen in the wasteland factories/ abyss and some of the crystal tech, but nobody understands any of it.
Inside the chamber there is also a huge crystal, but it totally devoid of all energy.
They start looking around and touching stuff, and a few of them use their light to turn on some switches.
.
(Dramatic music kicks in)
The place lights up, and the children become scared. In the chaos of the moment, they all accidentally find themselves in a chamber surrounded by butterfly pots and cages
For a short moment we see light particles starting to come out of them ( kinda like recharging on light bloom, but growing more intense), and then the scene moves outside the chamber, where it slowly starts to light up, and a trail of gold moves through thine tubes toward the area with the huge crystal.
The crystal starts to spin faster and faster, unknown constructs also spinning around it.
Above the crystal a pair of small circular gates open in the ceiling, revealing an opening, and at peak intensity a beam of blue light shoots from the crystal into the hole in the roof.
From outside the temple we see a feint blue glow about the circuits of the tower, moving up towards what we now see as a cannon.
The cannon starts to creek, dust falling from the first motion in over a century.
.
The end....for now
reminds me of the abyss crystal incident XD
I wrote this before abyss season actuallyđ
(I thinkđ¤ )
I have an idea for how it ends, but not too shure about it
Imagine this opening for a season (TGC, you can take notes)
you find a tower, there is a switch.
Skykids being skykids, they light it up.
Que this epic cutscene of the tower awaking as a turret, turns and FIRES!
It blows a hole in a wall and inside is the season area.
A military/warrior themed season with appropriate emotes, cosmetics and training courses and War Lore.

Season of Burning!!
Thats even better then what I had in mind
I made this season idea
Welcome to the Auxiliary Fort, near the border between the Golden Wasteland and Valley of Triumph. This encampment is introduced in the Season of Burning, along with four other spirits and the Burning Guide, at first known as General Burning.
The ultimate gifts are a orange and red cape thatâs almost completely broken, a repaired version of that cape, and a military headpiece hat.
Dazed Swordfighter: Has the âstunnedâ emote, with stars around its head for higher levels. Wears a blue fluer de lis cape, an ornate helmet mask, and a sword in the stone prop.
Observant Rogue: Has the âInvestigateâ emote and wears a brightly colored bandana, a large red yellow scarf cape, a beacon prop, and a detailed dress with a skirt. Obviously, horrible choices for scouting, but they donât care.
Ascended Astrologist: Has the âlook upâ emote and wears a purple wizardâs cap, a dark blue cape with constellation stars on it, a fancy Vault-style patterned pants and a stone altar prop.
Caring Medic: Has the caring handhold friend action, which is like a level 2 handhold. Wears a dark green natural cape, a light green headscarf, a medicinal plant prop, and a white and orange medic pants.
