After the Calamity has no skykids in it
...but i can surely wire a friend
@marble lynx Hey, out of all the characters you've created, which one would do best in a violence pit?
🧠
it's gaining sentience......
Yo, lore people. I want (would like) ideas. I feel like there’s an opposite to SkyKids in the lore, because what universe has a majority made of creatures of good? So, if SkyKids are the light, then what is the darkness? The obvious answer is Eden, Krills, etc. But those aren’t as small as the SkyKids and they can’t go everywhere the SkyKids can.
If the SkyKids are the stars, then what would be the black holes? (Or whatever the opposite of a star is)
Perhaps the barron rocky planets you see ||in the credits||, maybe light has not "touched" those, the smaller ones in the princes though, light has touched those.
Shards. They can go anywhere, are in various sizes, and fall from the sky
But shards aren’t sentient, unless you count the crabs
Shards don't seem to be a source of darkness, thay are just a part, a fragment from something else..
By source i mean something had to create a shard, or whatever it comes from
Shards bring darkness with them, and look like ||fragments of the eden diamond|| getting blasted off
Rather than its mechanic of spreading darkness
We see the red rock a lot in eden, saps light, any location it's present in before eden? I don't recall any.
Excluding the shards event themselves, they aren’t present outside of Eden.
Then i say the Void of Shattering/Shattering Guide. Sentient, as small as a Skykid, and has a diamond inside just like us
Wait there’s a guide for it? Isn’t the guide just a Diamond looking thing? Wait. The guides are sentient in some way. And the Diamond guide looking thing does bring us to past memories
I made a funny video about that diamondo, mind if I dm it?
The ||white spirit in the zone of death, inside you is darkness, but inside something else, something parallel, is light.. combine them you get reborn maybe it too gets reborn||
||that white spirit child thing haunts me, why is there two beings inside of a skykid||
OH MY GOD THAT GAVE ME AN IDEA
||You know what else is odd? Why there's 2 figures hugging but it only counts as one WL||
A skykid may be the greatest creation the ancestors made, an equal balance of light and darkness.
What parts of darkness do Skykids have?
We grow darkness rocks on ourselves when our light fades
There is darkness inside of us, we suppress it with our light, someone elses*
There was a reflection on the fact that Eden diamond is a black hole
But that's due to external factors not something we can control @balmy spoke
It could be the other way around: we use someone else's light to supress darkness from outside
shameless video plug: #promote-your-sky-content message
Thats why that other exists, otherwise, we couldn't gain our light back, ||ain't no lit candles in the afterlife
||
Wait you may actually be right, after all when you lose all your light in darkness you become a gray shell
Maybe we are the creatures of darkness... Oh, hmm that would be quite the turn over wouldn't it
I like to think what skykids are neutral creatures but just very friendly
Probably more likely to be the case, after all its the combo of light and darkness from what i can gather
Concept art had skykids be a mix of ancestors (at the time aligned with darkness) and creatures (aligned with light), had both warm and cool colors to show it

Then its good that some of the same conclusion can be drawn by someone who's never seen said art
How alive are the sky kids?
Enough to feel pain
Would ancestors look more like us when they were alive?
I think it's the other way around, we look more like them, we copy and play with their cosmetics...
They had a way of aesthetic choices, but they couldn't fly with what they had, and most of there capes, grandma withstanding, have 1 flap if it could do anything...
I think capes are just things they used to cover up like a big blanket or an overcoat
Yeah, the ancestor cape star appeared some time during Abyss I think ? It's either a bug or a feature to visualize what the wedges look like on it.
I think its more simple and just like a model thing since its troublesome making 2 of the same thing with one thing taken off
the stars on ancestor capes appeared in an update where the devs stated they fixed a bug with stars on skykid capes... instead they introduced another bug
The Sky bugs jenga tower
Aye, plus none of them have been shown to fly, and the cape star is always dim, we can brush it aside as a bug, it's a visual thing, even though grandma sure has a fair few pips, deserves them too hehe.
Crab Whisperer during Days of Bloom last year seemed to have a slowed down fall
Crab Whisperer is the exception, not the rule 👌
Somir?
Re reading the things about darkness, a sickness is actually a good idea to what happened to them
yeah probably
Hey! Does anyone have any headcanons about season of Remembrance?
I think the guide was an apprentice of the Vault Elder !
I HC / theorize that the child's parent was either drafted or arrested, and that bereft veteran and wounded warrior were on opposing sides. Though I think that's true?
I haven't done the second quest yet so I'm not sure what changed
i hc that veteran, tea brewer, and warrior all lost people they held dear/took care of, so child is their new person to take care of. child doesnt entirely like this however since none of it is exactly how their parent did it
the ultimate soup
did a civil war happened in the sky world? I saw the warrior fighting another warrior when I relive his spirit. 😭
i feel the need to point out we can now hug bereft veteran.
will post my observations from this quest later, eating rn
HC what Person in Pleading child memories (the one which were playing with them ofc) is their older sibling
HC that the spirit manta in the Refuge is there for Pleading Child's manta rider needs
That's a widely accepted theory yeah
the pictures didnt sync properly so no observations for now
Y'all you can actually see the oil-like pollution in Golden Wasteland water in areas where there is enough light like past the graveyard. I think that has implications for the form of pollution present in Sky. I can't replicate the effect at other bodies of water either
Darkwater sludge 🤢
It only happens when you have the camera at a certain angle
Yummy yummy in my tummy
just kidding! hopefully this makes sense. here we go!
tea brewer’s quest requires you to travel outside of the repository of refuge to retrieve the memory lanterns (what they yearn for that has been lost.) their lanterns can be found on the ground floor of the vault of knowledge. there have been other lantern clusters on other levels of the vault.
going with vela’s vault theory (as you ascend you get higher literally and figuratively) what if, as we ascend higher to find memory lanterns, what if the spirits that correspond to those memory lanterns are increasingly resistant to letting go to the past?
bereft veteran’s memories are underground. they are the closest to reality—they understand that their kid is gone and they cant do anything about it.
tea brewer’s memories are on the ground floor. theyve accepted it but feel like they couldve done something more. their patient died because of their decision.
wounded warrior’s quest seems to be next. the next memory lantern cluster is on the second floor of the vault. here we get a little desperate—warrior probably knows deep down they cant do anything but they still try.
child is last. i havent actually found any more lantern clusters. theyre the most resistant to change—the person in their memory was a huge part of their life beforehand. they still believe that theyre out there, somewhere. and being a child, it makes sense—they cling on to things they hold dear.
a bit off topic but
tried to translate it due to my not really good knowledge of English
and the translator called the tea brewer a beer brewer
That's very nice to read
Is there a background behind the tuna king
?
those are whales and I think they're just like that?
They big. I have a HC theory that the leviathan in the abyss area is a corrupted whale because the corrupted darkness can change creatures' forms
I really like this idea! It’s heartbreaking and makes a lot of sense… I wonder if the final quest will be about the guide, and if so, if theirs will follow the same pattern you’ve outlined here
Simple, both people hugging count as the lost memory of one person who remembers both sides of it.
memories are weird
What is Skykid hair made of? Is it candle wax? 🕯️
I think it’s one person split into two
Yeah, and the scene in limbo is us becoming one again
just chillin, waiting to hear something cool
contract hypothermia 💖
I had a whole video about this
I have a theory on it myself too
Long story short, I think Winged Light are the memories of the King/Prince/Eden Elder/Alef/Resh/Chosen One. We need a better name for that btw.
There are some odd stuff: what about the WL in the Ancient memories? Do you think they literally rode on top of the mantas?
It’s odd, because the final Shattering memory depicts an event that clearly parallels an actual thing that happens in Sky, but the other memories have WL in ridiculous places.
I’ve kind of taken to calling the figure the First One or the First Skykid or just using King in context
my interpretation of what winged light are is just strong memories of creatures of light. not necessarily one creature or another. so the ones in memories are just strong memories of the creatures.
the ones throughout sky in general can have similar arguments made.
WL are just memories correct?
yea. isle intro calls them lost memories.
Like a "we've been here before" deal, I like to think. It's just us
ooh ok! but so many ideas just make it hard for the shard memories… unless at least one skykid was in them before?
I agree with you on this one! I think that this is the easiest explanation. Someone else here brought up how some WLs are moreso places for an interesting player challenge so I think a majority of the more oddly located ones can be chalked up to that
Maybe, maybe. This could not be the first time they've sent down children of light. Maybe we appeared before everything ended. Like we were observing them?
I think that the chosen one was the first Skykid
We don’t really have any knowledge on if there was any others but seeing as how the figure in the winged lights is the same consistent height I think it indicates it being the same person
Expectation: “Finally, I’ve made a conclusive name for this figure. Everyone can use First Skykid”
Reality: “Now we have 8 names instead of 7 to refer to the same person”
YUP LOL. honestly i think just using the King or Chosen One depending on context makes the most sense so that’s what I tend to do
Oh you guys are talking about Gerald? /j
Jorm the Worm, or Leviathan, or king krill, or big one, or 400 other names
Gotta have a bunch of backup names in case a fae tricks you somehow, yknow
Gosh darn it fae rules, now I can’t remember the right moniker for uhhhh. Who was I talking about?
What does that mean
Fae steal names?
Never give your name to the fae, they steal names, always say “I will not give my name, but you may call me X”
Even Fae itself has a million ways to spell it
That was me, I believe! With very few debatable exceptions, this holds true for most WL. Some of them might also be placed where it’s easiest for a first time player to find them — think the two ones you find first in Isle — although, coincidentally, the second of those two is one you could debate to be an actual “lore based” (for lack of a better term) location
The WL I have written down as ones you could reasonably debate were placed there for lore reasons are: the one at the top of the stone staircase in Isle, every WL at the end of the trials, the one(s) in the last shattering memory, and the ones in the hallway entering PNR.
There might be more, as these are just off the top of my head
Fae, fairy, little tricksters
isn't the amount of wl in the base realms exactly enough for 7 wings
i think is yeah!
i personally feel like there could be more examples of them being placed, maybe not for intentional lore reasoning but what could make sense as well just going off of the idea they are memories and the Chosen One likely traveled their way up the mountain or could have visited many other places throughout the kingdom during their rule
Maybe once staring out into a pretty ocean
if we get remembrance guide vault elder interactions i will scream
Once again being fascinated by diving in places I haven't dived before, is there more to sanctuary??? cause I think there might be either a boat or a decrepit building in the underwater trench
I see winged light as like skykid desire paths – the more skykids that pass through area, experiencing the emotions that place invokes, a winged light will manifest there. knowing a winged light will show up there, more skykids come to that area, making it more likely for a winged light to pop up again and again
is there an agreement on the meaning of the words of the end song? Or has there been any attempts to translate it. I made sn attempt yesterday:
Men o mori e ra
Foto o pala
I su ro wa ho ri e
Lo su ron
Mei mo me ho tera
Foto ols meh
Ni ku o ni ku mo su ro
Remember the time
When light was protecting us,
We were sure that we'd learn,
In the long run,
to memorize it all,
But as the light grew old we stopped caring,
Now we are not sure of anything
It’s sang in Aurora’s “emotional language,” which has no possible translation
I wonder if it's a mix of languages like Journey's credit song
aurora's emotional language makes me so emotional
bruh...
WAIT WHAT
psst may i have a quick refresher on what wl could be?
ik theres a thought that its fallen starlight from megabird
like in the concept arts it shows the light falling and us returning it, in a cycle
we dont know for sure though
My theory is that they’re the past experiences of the first Skykid (King?) meant to guide us
It’s notable that Wing Buffs (which cost Ascended Candles) serve a very similar purpose to Winged Light, so they may be connected
So I noticed in the rememberance memories that it is hard to determine which side the soldiers are fighting on based on any clothing, though the soldier in the memory is unique, their colleague has almost identical clothes to their adversaries.
Which means we don't know if those in the teabrewers memories, child's memories, or even the veterans own son (speculation) and soldier telling of the loss are all on the same side, or different, or even that there are only 2 sides at all.
there is a question
How did they even distinguish who was on which side?
Was it even really like that, or were the memories of the spirits so wrapped up in their own troubles that the adversaries became a blur in "the war", so any soldier ended up looking like any other
There’s sun and diamond shields so I assume it’s from that
Wounded warriors comrade had a si sheild in the memory so I assume warrior was on the sun side (which is also the side
is on as they also have a sun sheild)
I Can see that! Having to fight in a war for so long I can see the opposing team just blending and blurring together
I'm not sure if we have any presidence for "unreliable narrator" in spirit memories, but if they are only memories, it could be they are tainted by memory loss too
Why else would the spirits want to preserve memories in containers if spirits could hold perfect recollections themselves?
Could you be more clear on the unreliable narrator part? I just thought it was showing the actual memories with nothing of memory loss happening.
That could also extend to "could a memory jar be fabricated" to show a falsehood or propaganda in favour or against another party
In that, I'm wondering if like our memories are how we remember things, they are from our point of view, and so could be completely different to how someone else relates the events.
To me i assumed it started because of the war and the ancestors wanted to pass down memories to the other ancestors that survived, I forgot which friend mention this but the memory lanterns could also be a sort of photo album in a way
Yeah I can see that, idk which part would be unreliable though, I mean the war affected all the rememberance spirits that’s clear as day, if you flipped it around to the other ancestors you’d either get ones taking away a child’s parent, attacked out of nowhere, and fighting the opossing side
As an example, a study showed that people doing an activity generally blamed failure on circumstance, whereas observers blamed the person doing the action. Its known as Actor-observer bias.
E. G. the soldiers story starts that they were attacked by another group of soldiers and repelled them. The fault being with this second group.
However from that second group of soldiers, if we saw their memories, would it start with an attack on them from our protagonist for an earlier incursion?
If we were to be able to get an outside purely objective view, it could be just a stage of escalations, a minor attack leads to revenge, leads to bigger attacks, etc.
I mean, we don’t know. we only have the information we’ve seen so far. I would argue however that there isn’t any real justified reason for a child’s parent to get taken away from them and leave them alone
I don’t really get the point your trying to make sorry
And I mean that’s how a war works? Both sides fight eachother for their own reasons, even if both sides concider the other bad and see themselves as good. If we saw the pov of the soldiers that attacked warrior would we see it in a different light? Honestly I wouldn’t cuz they legit attacked warrior when they were buying flowers
Agreeing with fish, same for pleading parent, there’s no proof pleading child’s parent was a spy either, and if they were then I don’t know how that can be revealed in their quest when the time comes (like considering the structure of the quests)
Unless they were perceived as a spy perhaps
i mean that could be a reason why they were taken away. we just don’t know. i don’t think us simply not knowing why the parent was taken away counts as the child’s memory being unreliable or something like that
Not really trying to make a point, more floating in the tank of ideas that popped into my head to see what anyone else thought.
But on the attack when they were buying flowers, we don't know that the protagonist didn't attack them in a similar position before, their memory starts.
i still wouldn’t really count that as unreliable narration tbh. it’s not like the WW’s memory was lying to us or anything, we just don’t know the full context
By unreliable, I didn't mean those things didn't happen, just that we don't get the full context from both sides as to why they happened.
Yeah but with how the quests for veteran and tea brewer see structured I doubt we’ll get confirmation on that if it’s even true.
Plus isint attacking civilians (the florist for example ) a literal war crime too?
Also about the uniforms all looking the same, which is strange to me, and I can't work out.
yeah that’s something we discuss fairly frequently. there’s even debate on if there are even two discernible sides and how to identify them
Game limitations exist, I don’t think they’re gonna make 3 brand new charaters with new never seen before costum cosmetics if they aren’t the main charater in the memory (would also take focus away from wounded warrior too)
A lot of the clothing the spirits wear have triangular or diamond shape insignias on them. I was thinking about how to identify the soldiers based on the fact they are wearing diamonds but then I noticed pretty much every spirit has diamonds/triangles on their clothing, especially the default non-customized spirits, so it’s sort of hard
perhaps instead of unreliable narrator, which has the connotation of lying, their memories are just missing context? they're true as much as the spirit recalls it and if that spirit was missing information surrounding what was going on, they're simply ignorant?
imo not everyone is going to have an objective omniscient understanding of their own situation, much less the perspectives of the others involved.
(note I do know that not all unreliable narrators are inherently liars but that is an association the term has)
Also a very good point, but this is lore speculation

what is very interesting to me is that WW very clearly has a symbol on their chest that looks more like the star-shaped symbol we associate with the King’s head
It just reminds me more of a star imo minus the king implications, they would’ve fit more then on the diamond side more but from their memory their on the sun side
uniforms have a tendency to do that I think
Yeah speaking of uniforms it also could’ve been the universal uniform too. could argue why warrior’s comrade doesn’t have the same one then but that would mean adjusting the pants to fit onto an entirely different model itself when they can just make them blend in and keep focus on warrior
I mean, they’re called uniforms for a reason
I was thinking more of how you tell a friend from enemy in battle, as generally in hand to hand combat, though they did like their spears, you would need a banner or some distinction to tell you were fighting the right people
Melees can get very confusing very quickly
Oh oh we talking about uniforms?
If we go along with the theory that the war had two sides: Those who had Suns on their shields and those who used a Diamond symbol, then WW’s memory is strange. Considering how they are clothed with such a suspiciously king-shaped design front and center (and the assumption that the Diamond = side of the King), yet they then have their comrade brandishing a Sun symbol shield. I know this is one reason why some people don’t believe the Sun/Diamond signs represent actual opposing factions in the war.
Another possible theory that I had though was that the WW defected. Their clothing is in tatters in their memory already. They could have been clothed differently to show them in the past like how the Vet initially is, but they didn’t. The memory could then be as follows: A defected member of the Diamond side allied themselves with the Sun side. After a fight them and their comrade return to purchase flowers as a celebration. They are then spotted by Diamond forces who recognize WW as a trainer, hence why they attack.
Ooh interesting spin, so they are literally a turncoat
it's hard to say, the war is definitely a civil war between the halves of the golden valley
I think we by chance could've messed up which side is which. Sun Side could be more closely related with the King. In WW memory, my friend and I theorized that maybe they celebrated a cease in the war/fighting too early. Or were simply hiding/sneaking the other in.
could be! but i feel like the diamond symbol is just so heavily associated with the king personally
I'm personally split with much new information being given, and valid theories
I just think it’s to define who’s memory it is honestly, builders one have a bald ancestor, prophets also have a bunch of ancestors with just the basegame hairstyles to define them. Or slouch having very simple renditions of ancestors that look simple compared to the seasonal spirit.
Somtimes seasonal memeories include other ancestors that we definitely know, but that’s done purposeful to imply a connection or reference if the time and setting is right. (Think of mellow and twirling’s)
I’m trying to imply that just because most ancestors look the same in warriors memory, it doesn’t mean it was hard for them to tell who was who in battle. If you think of crowd illustrations the main focus/charater in said drawing “stands out” from the crowd to bring attention to them, it’s a common thing I see when it comes to storytelling
Like it’s not their memory it’s warriors memory
I think it's a bit clearer in the artwork
I strongly believe that there were two sides- It's hard for me not to. That symbol he's wearing does resemble the King better
As for the civilians being all diamond, maybe they were forced to wear that shape because Diamond side won, and the opposing side was wiped out?
Also notice, they appear to be in a prison in the art
I see that symbol on their cloak and immediately think of the king’s head/mask and the large statues resembling it in the Wasteland. If anybody has any chosen one mural images on hand they’re often depicted with a starlike shape radiating out from their head like a halo as well
Put there by who though? And when were they sitting there? Strange
i wanna see the other full art pieces now smh
Free WW he didnt do nun 😔
speaking metaphorically here it could be or indicate they feel as if they should be punished for a crime they fell they’ve done which would fit into them being a member of the King’s side pretty nicely but i don’t think we actually know what those rooms in the repository were used for. they don’t really look like jail cells to me
OK so going down the traitor route, he was defeated by the sun shields, and turned to join them.
Was then spotted by diamonders, but they repelled the diamonders, only to later get attacked along with the flower seller and got captured.
So got put in a diamond prison for being a traitor.
Possibly manta cages. Or just regular jail cells with high bars.
see but I have no idea why they would keep prisoners in the vault of knowledge, we haven’t seen any indication in other parts of the vault that could imply prisoners were once kept there or even living mantas
The winged light location is behind bars
They feel as though they're in prison and like fish said, think they deserve the punishment.
That is true, maybe he could've built it himself, an old manta cage being used for his sadness.
Also there's a wee manta in there
yeah the WL is, there’s those weird bar parts but WW isn’t found enclosed in one of those just sort of nearby
First part was to reply to someone else btw lol.
I wonder if they are really rooms in the Repository, as from the outside the whole repository is floating in nothingness, so are they all memories of places the spirits knew.
A prison cell, a makeshift bedroom, etc.
we don’t know the motive for the war right? I don’t know a lot about the lore but could the conflict be environmental? like one side advocating for the use/refinement of dark stone and the other protesting it’s use and environmental impact?
Oh like a combination of memories you’re thinking? I can see that
Yeah I really wanna know what it looked like before it got all crumbly
Environmental, resources, manta treatment, etc
No, but the move from naturalistic stars/Megabird motifs to diamond/artificial stars is probably a pointer, as well as the huge exploding diamond in Eden
yeah, considering that the darkstone was most likely empowered by draining Light from creatures like the manta, that’s a big reason for the war many of us in here think
It’s just widely believed
okie good to know 🙂
So can someone sum up what they think on the WW memories? I still think that they were friends during the war, just on opposing sides. And WW got caught on their turf.
Yeah, though again I don't believe the vault is a "real place" at all, or at least, not anymore, maybe it once was
I think part of it is real because of the memory cube storage, but a lot of the other places are just projections
that's pretty much exactly what i think it is. two friends on opposite sides of the war, but they get caught and attacked for it
Yeah, sorry, there was a place they stored memories, and it had a temple to 6 elders at the top/near the top, but the spirit manta, trees, and buildings are all projections of memories.
Say pretty much everything above the 2nd floor where the walls break away
Anyway, thanks all for lore-ing with me, time to sneep
Question for Lore másters ^^, does anyone know if the big whale which is in hidden forest, golden wasteland and edén has an official name? 👀
I think the King was on the Sun side, but not for the reason you may think.
We see two shields: one of the sun/light symbol and one of the Power Diamond. The former is more common: we see it in the Wasteland Elder’s shrine, and even in Eden we see a shield.
The
emote implies it’s just called a whale
Nah they’re just called whales seen in the emoji name
And I wouldn’t call ourselves masters per say we’re just some folks interested in the story
The only lore master is @pastel brook
Ty
was thinking about the season again and
if the quest memories end up moving further up the vault, then pleading’s quests will be on the first floor in which we see cosmic mantas
They deserve to be with the mantas tbh
I think the Vault is literally just a tower, filled with the memories of everyone they could get - connected to the base of Eden at the top but not within the mountain
(supported by the map, kinda, Wasteland is close to sea level so it doesn't make sense that you go into Vault and suddenly you're inside a mountain that's only 4 stories higher at the base than the GW temple is, that's also visible from literally everywhere)
Everything past the second floor is dream-like, you're floating through what looks like actual space and seeing strange versions of mantas that don't seem like they could physically exist. The shrine at the Summit is for all of the elders, as if this is the last place people could see them - get some final advice or assurance from people they can all trust
Once the elder cutscene is over you're in an area that looks like a much smaller version of the first floor, with the elevator broken again, as if everything you just did didn't actually change anything, but it did - you're at the top, and somehow the elevator was broken again before you woke up (possibly the rumbling from Eden causing the diamond to fall again)
As for the actual space surrounding you I do agree that it's from projectors, or your sky kids mind is making up everything past the second floor because thats as far as they could see looking up through everything
Possibly even a memory projection of other sky kids making up the other floors
maybe someone dropped it
But I also like to imagine that the king ate people, so who knows
that's a new one for me I'll admit
Genuinely can’t tell if this is a joke💀🎉
It's not
tasty treat full of nutrient
idk which one but there's probably a nutrient in there
Genuinely curious what made you come to the conclusion
I'm sorry what
the king would eat a bees for 900 dollar
Do explain though
I do think most of Vault is real, if all “dreamlike” things were counted off as not real than everything including Orbit would be in contention
Just a HC
Live your life bud
🧍
am i funny yet
HELPP
vanya you're amazing
About Mantas they look so thin in terms of plane is it possible that in manta races it could damage them

i had to use a mouse and i went off of memory of what the king was portrayed as asihasda
hey i'm new to the lore theories and understand almost anything owo where can i find more explanations about the terms used?
I mean we float when we’re on a manta
Ik sky tells the story of many things like war, pollution, even killing mantas to help with darkstone production, i don’t think tgc’s priority is promoting manta racing Can hurt them, they don’t even seem to be in pain
I know I meant something like the development of diseases like scoliosis
I don’t see any implications of that though, if that was possible then I think they would’ve implied manta racing is harmful somwhere ingame, or can lead to that
Makes sense

unfortunately due to the nature of Sky lore, everything is really scattered. you're best just hanging around here and asking questions, though keep in mind we're not Google – there's only so much that's been canonically confirmed and theories are just theories, some more commonly accepted than others but we encourage you to figure out your own. have fun with Sky lore
I do have some stuff you could look at in regards to terminology:
darkstone & power diamonds and whatnot: #lore-discussion-spoilers message
Megabird: #lore-discussion-spoilers message
Elder names: #lore-discussion-spoilers message
Baud's lore noobie wait tac just linked that nvm`
ofc xD i was just curious about things that i didn't understand at all, and lil details i'd problaby let past
Wounded warrior and the spirit selling flowers/trees being a forbidden love story 💔💔💔
XURKINGTREE
HOW DARE YOU POINT THIS OUT TO ME
I just saw them as a seller and customer, where does it imply anything romantic happened exactly?
Sorry, it's just a headcanon
Ah okay, maybe express that it’s a headcannon clearly next time cuz I thought you were stating it as a fact
yeah sorry, forgot tone indicators haha :,))
their character card mentions something about refusing to give advice anymore, so I’m thinking giving wrong advice is what got their friend killed. Which is interesting, because you don’t see that directly implied or stated in the memory, but it can put msome depth in there.
My attempt to tie this in would be something like… Wounded Warrior and their friend were defending a Wasteland village under threat of being taken over by the opposing side. Ultimately, they were able to fend off the first wave of attackers, and Warrior is confident that those attackers wouldn’t return and the villages defenses would hold. They go to celebrate, assuring their friends that they’re safe, but ultimately they’re wrong and their florist friend dies because of it.
This also might be why the spears came from above, because maybe the person hurling them is standing on top of the wall surrounding the village, having breached it.
I’m not 100% settled on this idea yet, because most of it is speculation trying to tie that one line from the card in and I suspect we’ll find out more during their quest, but yeah
Ooh thats an interesting take on it!
Would you think that they were on the same side and not opposing? Could he just have forgotten what his friend looked like in that memory, or could just be a model to save time
Do you mean the warrior and the florist, or them and their battle partner?
Them and their battle partner
Oh! Probably same side, then. If you look over during the first two nodes, you can see way across on another island people from the other side that they’re chasing off
I’ll have to look at that. I never noticed!
Yeah! It’s a struggle to see up close, especially if you’re doing the memory with other people, because often they move to the next node without giving you enough time to fly over and look at it
Hey, I was finally able to join this discord after my friend convinced me.
Can anyone give me a review of how it's like being in the lore chat? Cause it seems to get a bit aggressive sometimes and I'm a bit worried...
Sure! It’s a bit odd to send it here, so can we talk in dms?
That's fine by me
we're not aggressive – it's a common misunderstanding cos a lot of us here are autistic so our bluntness and enthusiasm is taken as hostility. honestly, if you like Sky lore and aren't a bigot, then you're welcome to vibe here
we like to be nice to people that are nice to us
hey everyone!
the end of eden when the dark child and the light child hug, that remind anyone else of how the krill search for creatures of light
in order to become a "full" being, the two sides must join in harmony, the dark seeking the light
Nice way of looking at it
i was reliving the tea brewer's memories today and noticed a tree that had what looked like mushrooms growing on it. it made me wonder where they had gone to harvest them, since much of what we see in the sky kingdom now is very different from those (living) memories then.
Most likely grew the trees in a different realm than vault. Maybe old isle or golden valley, when it was still a valley. Because the memories we see are in a different place than vault
Salems typing
The remembrance spirits seem at least implied to some degree to be from Wasteland. It would provide a good reason for why they had to seek shelter in Vault instead of going to Valley or any other realm. In Teabrewer’s memory, their town seems to be under siege, and since most of the war seems to have taken place within Wasteland, they’re probably from there.
That tree with the mushrooms is probably a form of native Wasteland wildlife that went extinct due to the combination of heavy pollution, environmental damage caused by warfare, and the disaster blocking out the sun
rest in piece native mycosystem 🙏
ah yes i think that makes sense! the guards/soldiers in the memory suggested it was wasteland. the tea spirit couldn't have risked going farther anyway since they were caring for a loved one who was ill
Though, the war in Remembrance probably had far-reaching implications... there are signs there was something in Eden
You get a shattering seal of approval for this
Man, if only the elders had gotten one of those, we wouldn’t be in this situation
:0 LEFT ME SPEECHLESS
Here have one too
They wouldn’t be downloaded💔
HAHA I love that
as crunchy as it gets
retrieved straight from the diamond
I thought the diamond only downloaded in a lossless file format what's with this resolution
The files are lossless inside the diamond but when they get ejected they’re all compressed or torn up into bits :/
JPGs 😔
The same feeling of getting a commission delivered in jpeg format
they compressed the elders oh god
Why do you think Night is so short ☹️
They died in summer
Am i allowed to discuss season lore here? 🤔
go for it!
Maybe you all could help me understand but I'm super confused. I thought all the spirits are dead, so why does everything seem so sad? I assume they're trapped here bc of their tragedies, but aren't we helping them move on to be with their loved ones?
Im low on words I’d like to think since spirits are supposed to ascend then maybe the war could’ve prevented that, or somthing else.
We see a lot of them still trapped so I assume the natural way of ascending was disrupted and somthing happened, even when death happens I do think they would still grieve, either that or death before eden exploded or somthing was differnt.
Now that I think about it, tea brewer coming back to their possible relative passing hints that maybe spirts couldn’t linger for some reason, maybe cuz it’s too dangerous from the war?
grief has a tendency to stick with you, like the bitter echo of a dissonant chord
that hit unnecessarily hard, thanks astral
Sorry if I'm responding to something unrelated to my question, but I completely agree with they would grieve. I guess I just really don't understand this world lol. I figured from the base game we have to relive important moments of a spirit to help them pass onto the stars. I understand that in this season maybe instead of building a treehouse or finding treasure, it's too help them process their grief.
I guess my confusion is, couldn't we reunite them with their passed loved ones? Maybe they're already in the stars waiting? Sorry trying to process with very little in game knowledge (just started about a month ago)
I've been thinking that with more darkness in the world, the likelier it was for spirits to petrify, so if spirits commonly descended or lingered in the world in the past, it was riskier during the later year of the kingdom. Eden and Wasteland would be where spirit petrification occurred more frequently, followed by Forest due to the darkness in the rain, but given there are petrified spirits in every realm, darkness was present everyone and would get spirits anywhere eventually.
if ancestors' living bodies protected their light within, spirits are vulnerable. they would want to stay alive because at least they had physical protection from darkness. in these later years, dying would entail a rush to ascend spirits or fearing darkness would petrify them – either way, this meant losing their loved ones
Oh yeah I can see that
thanks I tried to craft that sentence for maximum impact
a couple excerpts from Fealty that demonstrate my thoughts on that
It’s alright, after pointing it out it made me think aswell
Maybe the spirts are tied in some way to their seasonal place, the recent seasons show them ascending up after finishing the last quest
Plus vault is kinda hard to get into, having to get through wasteland, keill, the gate, and trying to find a way into vault depending on how much you think spirits can interact with the living world.
Oh you know the troupe that ghosts usually have “unfinished business” hence why they’re not in the afterlife? I wonder for some seasonal spirits it’s like that
FEALTY HELL YEAH
Thank you for the response! I understand this season is very heavy, but I just felt it was also hopeless. I was confused in giving a grieving parent a windchime when I could just point to the stars where I'm assuming his kid is. I thought maybe I just don't know enough of the game.
I think that's the best solution, that their unfinished business is grief. That's a great point of the other season spirits moving on at the end. I wish I could see them reunite with their loved ones.
AUGH yeah, I don’t think they can even leave the vault though I’m guessing, or know where to begin to look for their kid in the sky. I assume the props we use had sentimental value to them, concidering veterans and tea brewers loved ones appear in the cutscenes after
the vault does have a roof
it's also worth noting that the sky of the Vault isn't the night sky that goes into space.
it's complicated
I wanna point out both Vault seasons involved spirits tormented in a way that's too complex for skykids alone to fix that, maybe that's a theme of the realm
sadness is vault’s brand
the Vault is said to represent old age, when you're so old that you've experienced much of the complexities of life from that sometimes things are unfair to oftentimes things are not as simple as thought in childhood. kids tend to struggle to grasp that complexity, lacking the experience and maturity to navigate it.
but children can still recognize sadness, anger, regret... as skykids, we give these spirits, who have undergone such traumatic losses, simple pleasantries. a wind chime or a teaset may not be able to absolve the spirits of their grief and anguish, but the little things can go rather far to assuage the pain for some time
Sorry i didn't mean literally pointing to the sky lol. I meant just like we do with the other spirits, we break them out of their darkness and they just kinda beam up lol.
I do feel content with the explanation of helping them process grief. I think that makes the most sense. 😊👍
I recall someone (I think it was Bea ?) saying that each realm had a theme for their seasons; citing Valley seasons all had you working with a group to make a performance, Wasteland ones had you look for lost things in ruins and Forest ones had you reopen pathways through the realm(s).
Maybe the Vault theme is exploring trauma too big for you to fix, giving you a taste of the overwhelming darkness you will face in the next realm...
I agree !
In the emotional curves from concept, the emotes are shown to illustrate the mood as well; prayer, telekinesis, polite stance and levitation, as well as cordial greeting, shushing, wise stance and thinking might reflect the more solemn environment (memory manta call is a bit obvious since that's their environment).
I see the Vault as being a kind of summary of your journey so far, with all the references to the previous realms as well as the elder literally showing up with all the others. Even the song playing during the cutscene is called "The Journey so Far", that and with it being where memories are stored... seems to be like, a conclusion to the story. Loose ends are tied, spirits all look like they are aware this is the end (advanced magic, solemn attitudes) and you're sent on your way to the end.
The Vault represents post-apocalypse on old timelines, and I headcanon the memories were stored here as both an effort to not vanish in darkness, and as a kind of golden record (like the irl one we sent to space) for those that come after.
The entire realm anticipates an end, you got spirits chained by their vices seemingly unaware of the outside world (
) and litteral refugees that are trying to survive in that shelter (Remembrance)...
I like to think it seems to disintegrate as you go further in because older folks have memories that get more and more fragmented.
Does Isle or Prairie have a theme?
As far as I know there's only been one season for both areas specifically (
and
) so it's really hard to think about what it would be
Yeah that's why it's still only a theory and no one mentioned them
Would be nice to have more creature-centered seasons like Sanctuary and I can only assume they would be in prairie
i found this OOB on youtube and threw away my canni-lism ideas because GW elder looks like Resh's Fangirl
Can we not say "fangirl" about absolutely everyone who looks up to someone else please
stuffy
Something something Reshdi
GW elder is military of some kind. The King is the one who I assume gives them orders. It's a pretty average relationship, just happens to relate to war or something /nm
hi lore chat
I was just wondering: have there been indications of trees in valley? excluding the bloom sapling maybe
There was performance concept art that had forests iirc, but aside from Aurora Coliseum having tree props, that's all we have.
ahhh thank you!
From the Performance concept art blog post !
Huh, now that I think about it, there are no trees in Valley
now my 2nd question:
why would yeti need duo axes when they live on a snowy mountain
Thats for you to decide, make your own theories and ideas
Iirc Dreams spirits are retired performers, maybe they were an axe juggler ?
we don't know what time he lived+I believe that in the fauna of the Sky there should be predators in addition to Dark creatures
Yaya, i think it’s just that mountains in general don’t have trees the higher they go, could’ve also been chopped down to expand the city if they did exist before
Really high mountains tend to have sparser vegetation and the plants that do grow up there are hardy
Oo i see! Might be the latter of what I mentioned above then to be the case
Looking at the trees here it make me wonder if the leaves were chopped off on purpose? Idk if leaves are used for anything but the formation on most of them being mostly cilinders aside from a few stray branches is interesting
Maybe to fit with the trees in Forest ? I had a headcanon they're like that because of a past forest fire...
The trees in this game seem more like pillars that hold up the clouds rather than trees as we know them
Almost like the clouds ARE the leaves. Bloom saplings are the only ones that don't seem to fit with this little idea but those aren't even physical objects so they're exceptions either way
That too!
Would be cool if they were but I personally think it’s to keep the levels contained and so your not endlessly looking up in the sky, and to sell the storm emersion
That’s how they look now, but there’s a thought that the Forest trees have been petrified either due to the darkness in the rain or the Eden calamity. You can even see what might be petrified light blooms. Looking at the Switch release and animation trailers, there were trees that looked more like typical trees, so the ones we see in Forest had something happen to them.
[takes notes] thank you for entertaining my questions
Having their branches broken off due to whatever happened to Eden and then being instantly frozen in time is actually really cool of an idea
Plus there are a few that you can see are fully snapped in half, or knocked over/chopped down

I wonder why the water in Hidden Forest isn't as polluted as Golden Wasteland. Perhaps that just goes to show how absolutely extreme the pollution there is
My guess is that the hidden forest isn't as industrialised as the golden wasteland; the former only has one visible refinery while the latter is littered with pipes and remnants of factories
The rain probably comes from GW and floods some of the area as well
I noticed that the architecture of Great Zimbabwe seemed somewhat similar to that of the floating islands.
Oh that's really cool ! Don't take my word for it but I recall reading prairie's architecture was meant to evoke the shape of candles and candle cakes
prairie’s the embodiment of capitalism fr
/j
thanks maelstrom for making me look at the art again, the background art appears to be where their shared space is/should be
further proving my the higher you go the more resistant you are theory (actually warrior looks like theyre in the place with wl which doesnt make sense but tea brewer, veteran and child work out)
Hey Idyll, if you need it, here is the art for Wounded Warrior (since it seems like the message you replied to doesn't have Warrior's promo art)
thank ye
honestly dont know where warrior’s bg could be, id have to look around more
Ohh! It's in the Refuge's basement!
Hint: Look to the right and find an open door
They prefer to stay in there probably
have you considered how the moon phase affects this?
are you implying they're a werewolf, skybot
- distant howling during a full moon-
Oh em gee wounded warrior!!!
omg wounded warrior do u wanna play Werewolf: The Apocalypse with me ? 😳
Incorporating this into my belief system immediately, werewolves are awesome
Wounded warrior wanting to just be a wolf for a day cuz wolfs are cool
I wonder if wolves were a thing in the realms before the disaster. If so, I wonder when they went extinct
I imagine probably when the war started maybe, could’ve moved away and out of the kingdom before it got worse
I kept having this thought that there were ancestor children who were born after animals like wolves or tigers went extinct
Children ancestors finding old abandoned murals of wolves and tigers
Or even some bird species… maybe they only realized some of these examples existed from animal masks
Thinks of frogs being everywhere in forest then the erosion began to happen
You’d here distant ribbits everywhere but now it’s silent aside from a stray manta or crab
The coastlands used to echo with the calls of hundreds of migratory seabirds during the summer, but now they’re all dead and the beaches are silent
Thinks of sky orcas being a popular sighting when fish migration began too
Sky furries
AUGH orcas would possibly keep the black and white color pallete too since those are common animal colors in sky
I know Vela drew a piece of Dusk watching a whale migration before everything
Ough
Since we on the topic of animals do you guys think the island in the Nintendo trailer had a completely different variety of animals?
Like the cone crabs
The uncorrupted krill we theorize to be the manta thing in the trailer came from that island, maybe they're not really native to the current sky world
That also makes me think of another topic, (and also because I'm in forensics atm), crime. Its strange to think about I know but where would they put Thieves and such? Were ancestors even capable of that or were they above it
Maybe!! I’m not really sure yet where the Nintendo trailer fits into my perception of the world but I’d assume if it was a different environment they would have different animals, yeahg
I hope the animation gives us even more on that
this one
oh my gosh.. that is so great and also sad
they r real on our hearts...
-strokes non-existent beard-
thinking about your light wolf drawing
did you mean: all of them
the little orange you can wear on your head suggests there were fruits in the sky world. i wonder what kind of fruits and veggies they had.
All of the Ancestors were furries /j (no but seriously if stuff like Animal Jam existed in Sky the Ancestors would be all over that.
)
Good night
Good night discord user lilwayne
Oranges?
This lil lad on my skykids head

Piggyback will know the wonders of spaghetti
if this doesn't happen in game im quitting /j
They’ve just never visited Valley (Sky Italy)
Does that mean they dieded without eating pasta 💔
It’s ok now they’re a part of the great pasta in the sky 💛
Lightseekers have a ban against eating spaghetti cause it resembles Megabird and that’s blasphemy
I wonder if you can slurp megabird like a spaghetti.... /j
Yes you can
Twirl:
I made you a massive bird shaped conglomerate of all the light in the universe but I eated it 💔
Protein
They eat it sneakily in their room in the dark when Megabird isn’t looking
Twirl known for the hustle
Force piggyback to eat spaghetti
force spaghetti to eat piggyback
wait
I can’t believe you’re making the spirits white why can’t the lightseekers eat good food

What
Did you know: culture/food can be shared
I’m sorry I’m not a spaghetti fan
That's because you never ate my pasta, it's really good
piggyback wasn’t able to beat a really hard mario maker stage and thus swore off consuming any italian food for the rest of their life
This piggyback’s real name? Baudshaw
Wait I found a better react
Help
Sorry but pasta is litterally the best thing that ever graced planet earth, the end goal of agriculture is making pasta and spicy pesto sauce
I never said pasta was bad, but I don’t like plain-old red ketchup sauce spaghetti with dry meatballs and terrible cheese
And Bhel Puri better
That’s my experience with spaghetti in restaurants
Those are sins who the hell is putting ketchup on spaghetti?????
Nah man you're paying for that too ???
Maybe they need to serve better food
Anyways, we can NOT have food discussion here, it’ll cause an eternal fracture in the server please
wh ????/ ketchup ???????
i am scared and confused
anyways uh piggyback
Sorrry i cant believe some folks put ketchup on spaghetti, horrid
Actually sobbing at Baud getting served ketchup and meatballs spaghetti thinking that's normal 💀💀💀
I never said it was ketchup, I said it was so bland it almost tasted like ketchup
Dude's gonna awaken his 6th sense when he tastes proper spaghetti sauce with parmesan cheese
!friendsnotfood
The topic of food naturally arises often... but please remember to treat all skykids and sky creatures with kindness and respect. And please keep the conversation out of the gross-out-for-fun zone!
im gonna go back to spirit topic aishsa
i rly want slouching soldier as a ts soon, i want that cape hngg
Baud I'm so sorry your life is spiceless, get well soon
amen
I never said that
I’ve eaten more spice than all of you combined
It’s just that these stupid Italians think “oh the flavor’s in the simplicity” when they’re clearly and totally wrong
You eat ketchup spaghetti
are they any spirits you gamers feel a connection to
for me it’s frantic and mellow
the whole “anxiety go brrr” and the “functions while being incredibly messy” things from both
It was not voluntary or pleasant
Man I gtg do an icebreaker for my class brb💀
i can't really say anything since i'm a end-of-shattering moth, but right now pleading child makes me cry so hard
plus aurora was just. so nice
And the flavor’s not in the meat, or the fat, or the juice, or anything else like that. The flavor is in the seasoning.
You using ketchup spice?
I wonder who that spirit may be you'll never guess
I was forced to eat this ketchup-LIKE spaghetti when I was a child. It was a formative experience of mine that I’ll never forgot
We’re not talking about eating skids or spirits. Are you saying skykids are spaghetti?
He’s been forced to eat ketchup spaghetti since he was five /ref
i have so much fear for the end of the season as to what pleading child's shared space is going to be
like. oh my god
im Dreading how sad it's going to be im already calling it'll be the saddest of them all
For all spaghetti likers, take a bite out of a tomato and see how much you like your stupid sauce anyways
c-can we go back to lore talk now
Raw tomato ≠ ketchup
Bro 💀💀💀
Who eats ketchup and spaghetti i will actually hurt you
Also spaghetti is extremely important sky lore wdym 💔
Biting raw tomatoes is normal tho
I wish I was muted
Delete your discord account
It’s a fruit you can just eat it like an apple is all I’m saying
Let ik youre Brazilian but are you okay
i enter to see crimes being committed
ill be leaving now
I genuinely thought that was just something everyone did 💀
I hate raw tomatoes actually 💔
all this chat about food just from TS hints? seems like a tangent turned into a detour
i just want to talk about lore
Alex what sauce do you eat your spaghetti with
Answer them. Alex.
Wasteland spirits bite raw tomatoes
I was drawing a cat what did I come back to
I think the official lore based on the pizza and spaghetti hints is: italy is not canon in Sky.
As for how I like spaghetti, lots of different ways. tomato sauce is fine. alfredo is good, or sometimes just butter
The pollution was divine retribution for that
salem hel p
Foul
ITALY IS NOT CANON IN SKY 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Cherry tomatoes are so good, I understand you Let.
Sometimes I succumb to my instincts while cutting a tomato and wake up covered in sauce.
the world rejoices SKY ROME IS NOT REAL 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

I don't mean to single out Italy though 😄 all nations of earth are not canon in Sky!
I hate cherry tomatoes im sorry 💔 the taste is weird
JUST BUTTER ???
That’s not true Brazil is real
someone's relieved that Sky Rome doesn't exist
alex answer me this:
what do you think the rain in hidden forest is and why it drains our light when the stagnant water doesn't ?
BRASIL CAMPEÃO DO MUNDO ☝️☝️☝️🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
Rain goes fast, water doesn’t

lorechat + food = a bad time
The absolute worst food takes I have seen on this server
server rules require English at all times, and setting one nation above others may be divisive. We're all citizens of the same world!
okay THIS i can get behind
Very real and canon lore guys
Ive cracked the code and the lore bible is ours
BRASIL NUMERO UNO ☝️☝️☝️🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
you know how bumping into walls used to cause damage? same concept. rain hits you at high speed, but only hurts a little
i actually never knew that was a thing because im a shattering moth ;w;
My theory is just objectively better smh/j
p.s. I have no idea why really, I'm just making something up
darkness in water + beings of light = not a good time
Drink the dark soup
NOOOOOO VELA WAS FASTER
but the still water doesn't drain light, that's what always throws me off
(i think anyways)
Bro’s got elected
So glad the devs added golden wasteland so we could truly see what living in Brazil is like
is today a holiday in Brazil or something? a bunch of Brazilians were shouting about Brazil in genchat earlier
Everyday is a holiday in Brazil
i love golden wasteland i wish brazil was real /j
HELP 💀💀
darkness prob diluted enough in pools of water to not be damaging
From my experience with Let I think Brazilians are just like that
I can confirm we have to transverse carefully cause giant shrimps can attack at any time ❤️❤️❤️
Darkspeed, Let – may you not be bitten
Dw they don’t hurt it’s just a little scratch on the knees to get you to wake up, quite the sport really
Let do the krills fry rice
maybe the friends were the brazilians you made along the way
Gonna eat my copy of splatoon 3 now. Bye!
Your telling me a krill fried this rice? /ref
They do, and they dance battle too if threatened
See you! May you destroy all the little kids that got it for Christmas in the turf war
/j
[ominously] God forbid these people find out what you put ketchup on
Edit: Birdlem you literally eat rocks
luka what. is that emote name
i LOVE it
The homosexual urge to commit crimes
So true

man if THAT aint the mood idk what is
hello! ive been wondering for a while now- who is cheering for us in Valley? the stands are always eerily empty, while the air fills with shouts
if you can't commit actual crimes, food crimes are fine
Geographically accurate map of the Sky world
Saving that thank you
We aren’t sure either, honestly. Could be weird mechanics of spirit memories, or cyan light used to create that noise by the elders
If you’re gay AND italian you die because of a paradox
skill issue
I personally like to think it’s spirits watching above
or it’s our skykids imagining the cheers either one goes (other than that I have no idea)
ohh thats cute!!! thank youuu
personal canon it's sah and mehk somehow cheering on ur skid (obviously not but. it makes me happy to think about)
Ive eaten a jalapeño whole without chewing so I’d say that’s a crime
AWWWW IM ADOPTING THAT HC CAN I YOINK IT
are you okay
Yesh was just a tad spicy, ate the stem also
u may
sah and mehk just make me. so happy
i LOVE them sm and how playful they are with our moth,,
HARD AGREE I LOVE THAT THEY TRY TO PLAY WITH OUR SKYKIDS BEFORE SENDING US TO THE HORRORS
Damn bro eat the tree while you're at it
They stole our light
Rain doesnt seem like theyll use it anyways
like i rewatched their elder cutscene yesterday and kept replaying it bc of how PURE it is!!! playing cat and mouse with our lil moff,,,
and i ADORE how the siblings try to one-up each other like aidhasd
In the isle of dawn, ate these the other temples being shown on the walls? Like the Prairie Temple, Forest, GW, Vault (tower, presumably?) And Eden/Palace/whaterever we call the thingy near the diamond
you ate the temples?????
Sorry who now
Vividly remembering I wanted to play with them more as a moth, like what, it's already over ???
Yeah they are the temples
Dip them in chocolate and I have a pocky
tgc let us play with sah and mehk!!! like fully!!!
have it be a fun minigame!!!
It was me
I ate them
I will never get over their intro like, Oo i like them they look cool- OOO TWO OF THEM
question! is the little prince canon in our universe? if aurora is
TWO OF THEM
and then they 'fight' over who gets the flame,,,but turn it into a game i LOVE IT
Pickled jalapeños really aren’t that spicy
Ok but where did the valley elders get their staffs?? What it made out of??
light
no, really? /j
Maybe forest crafted it for them
Sorry for ping.
It’s a contested issue, some believe they aren’t but I think the Little Prince and Aurora reasonably fit in the Sky world (and now they’re not white anymore
)
tac didn't specify the jalapeño was pickled
I see aurora more as a story teller, as the prince seems to be somwhat more involved but not in the main story if that makes sence, aurora to me is more of a voice to tell the story of the kingdom of that makes sence
Probably what tac said
at least it isn't bell peppers
Eh, the Aurora concert seems quite important to Sky, I don’t get why she can’t at least represent a character that actually existed in Sky lore
Yeah it was just a raw uncut, washed jalapeño
important
sah or mehk pick one (curious to see opinion is all :0)
Do you not like bell peppers?
wdym theyre not white anymore?/gen
-looks to my pfp, status and piles of fanart of Sah -
How can I ever choose…. Mekh /j
After the season of the little prince ended, his skin turns into a bluish
ngl? based
i literally cannot choose between the sibs they're both so cool
They whacked our light
That’s to avoid copy right I’m guessing, either that or were more reliving his memories in a way after he died died
There is no worse vegetable or culinary product than the maligned bell pepper. It is the bane of agriculture. No spice, no heat. If you want the texture or flavor of bell peppers, there are thousands of greater peppers and chilis that are great
they were playing a game with us !! to make us feel better knowing we were about to enter wasteland
ohhh okayokay!
Leave. /j
Why would the Little Prince’s color scheme be copyrighted?
Agree to disagree my mom makes great Colombian food with bell peppers
Some colors are copyrighted fyi, same can happen to certain color combos
Going to infiltrate TGC just to make bell peppers a Canon food
Yaya, plus if that wasn’t the case then the prince would have his normal colors even after the season ended but he doesn’t
when i frst met them i was SOOOO mad i hated how they stole my light..... and now i love them <3
the fact that colors can be copyrighted is a bane of capitalism ugh
aiahfsdf that's how i felt about forest elder
how our light gets snatched SO RUDELY
but sah and mehk make a game out of it 💜
i like this interpretation!
Omw to read 36 pages of little prince copyright information to confirm a silly Sky theory
nobody can really own a color, but it may be part of a collab agreement to keep a sharp distinction between brands after an event is over
I heard Little Prince
I also hate it, the fact some colors are behind a paywall too buts tahts a rant for another day
something something Adobe
YEAH FOREST ELDER WAS SO RUDE AND FOR WHAT 😭 i mean i guess i would be shocked as well if i saw light after such a long time
I own blue
Also people pay to own colors 💀
sue the sky
yeah but damn !! why you gotta be so rude when taking it!!
Nah gonna sue tgc brb.
Forest Elder really went "Light! MINE!!!"
vault of knowledge elder is so gentle about it !! slay vault of knowledge elder
look up Anish Kapoor and vantablack, lose faith in humanity
There's an entire shade of black paint that's copyrighted, I don't remember what it's called but you should be able to find it
lamed 😭 they look so sad and lonely in their cutscene it makes me hurt inside
Vanta black?
LITERALLY 😭 always loved them sm
Doing the ol' Pspspspspspsps
also no guys *vanya black i actually own it
I swear there was like, a vanta black 2.0 that was somehow even darker
Forest Elder seems to me like they just think they know better about how to use light and want to educate the sky kid. like the way a parent would slap a hand if a child reached for a hot stove
Isn’t vanta black hard to create?
who's your favorite elder
I wouldn’t call them rude, think of their prespective. Your somebody trapped in a small cramped space in limbo with no way to build or create, somthing that you enjoy to do which has been shown in your mural’s and cutscenes.
Now imagine that but your in that position forest elder is in, somthing that you loved to do has been taking away as all you can do is sit and rot away
Then a child comes, holding somthing that can help you create again, you can MAKE somthing again, so ofcorse you snatch it and begin working, because you can finally create
Also they’re so gentle in their orbit cutscene, now that they’re free. Hence why I don’t see them taking out light as a rude gesture out of malice
dressing my skid in all black and placing them in a Minecraft void cube and telling Anish Kapoor to come at me
Nanif
Oddly enough, a tie between the Valley Twins and Prairie
Isn't it the darkest one?
Forest elder apologism
/j
they tie for my least favorite
that's not copyright, that artist merely has an exclusive contract for the use of the produced pigments
which might fall under patent law, not too sure
related but differently - colors itself can't be copyrighted, that's not what copyright is about, but certain color compositions can be registered as trademarks
Yea that one omg
gosh i need to rewatch orbit cutscene! i also agree with your POV as well- sorry but who trapped the elders?
Nanif isn’t actually all black but at one point Amander was
Nobody knows exactly, but my theory is they sealed themselves in to protect themselves. Hence why I don’t believe tac’s theory, Forest Elder agreed to be sealed
I love the orb hat honestly
i actually have yet to see the elder cutscenes other than isle's
No idea, im there’s many theories like their trapped in the diamond but we don’t know for sure
Valley twins
my favorite characters in the whole game tbh
Pleading Child is a very close second to both of them.
Have you finished the game 💀
Get pleading child to warrior of love, yall
in my ficverse, Nanif's orbs are actually made of red light
in orbit bruh
someone called?/j
What's red light?
i think thgey eat cave moss
RIAMAIR
who wouldn't
mm yumby
light that is red — you can find it in Wasteland in crabfields and near the caves of the Forgotten Ark
Ohhh that. I thought you meant another substance like darkstone. That's p cool.
I just want to have a full manta outfit for my manta rider boy Altair. Getting the cape for him is gonna take forever
Anyone have a video or article on the up to date sky lore?
omg u also have an altair oc
Relevant theory for you- #lore-discussion-spoilers message
I am now slightly confused
Here is one- https://docs.google.com/document/d/12XSkaMV_5UYG-an_Qo37ItyKP6GaqBBA6iRqBVE2qck/edit
There are many theory videos but they’re not confirmed or anything. I can DM you some
another oc named altair is what i mean
like darkstone, red light is associated with darkness. the first Enchantment quest remarks that red light is found "where darkness prevails." I believe that red light can control darkness, which Nanif, as a former corrupted skid, is very interested in
Good soup
I'll get back to you on that, I'm only able to comprehend shorter conversations rn
. Saved the link though.
That would be appreciated
Ah, yes, I do! Him's a little manta rider who i love and adore with all my heart (ignoring the amount of love I give to my other sky kids)
I have an entire, full 4000 character message about how the lyrics of AURORA's Runaway relates to his story.
When the last tree in Hidden Forest has fallen and the rivers in Golden Wasteland are poisoned, you cannot eat darkstone oh no
oh man felt, except my altair is for an entirely different fandom altogether haidahda
he's for wings of fire :) so he's a dragon
idk if this should go in this channel, but do you guys think that the aviary will ever come back? even if its just a shrine u sit at and appear there
The aviary was removed for performances issues, unfortunately
:,0 oh I had no idea how so?
Wasn't that just Light Awaits version of Home
I’ve heard it caused heating problems on lower-end devices
Nah, that’s light awaits stuff so earlyyyyy beta and i doupt it would come back for the reason baud stated
Think this also works better in #questions-and-help idk how this ties into lore wise
Aviary came back in another form with the Wind Paths !
I mean how did our food conversation tie into Sky lore
Light Awaits stuff looks so pretty
I feel like that performance issues shouldnt be an issue anymore? Considering things like Aurora..
I just want aviary back ngl
yeaa ig more lore of the timeline of the game game not rly the game itself
I would say the Wind Paths is pretty different looking- they’re just cloudy areas so
yeah buttt I love this big circle, and the vibe just feels so cozy and bright but not too bright
https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/894093682385502248/1070114558196330588/Sky_Screenshot4-900x506.png
Windpaths doesnt evoke aviary feeling for me honestly
yeah me either really
It would, tbh, make more sense for Home to be in the clouds and not an island in the middle of nowhere someplace in the ocean
Yeah I mean I love home especially the sunset but I would prefer clouds around it even tho that might be not lore accurate perhaps
What is an altair oc
Theres a lot from light awaits I wish they kept
For example the old isle, old isle has my HEART.
I played in the Aviary during that time, and while I liked the visual design of it, I didn't like the flow. the layout caused people to sit around and chat a lot, and to split up when they went out into the realms
It's an OC with the name "Altair" which means something related to wind
Ooooooooh
Old Isle is cool but it’s too small for my liking
Honestly that makes sense
I wonder if there would be a way to bring the vibes/general design of aviary and mix it with the nicer flow of the newer home..
Ima design some stuff later due to this
Yeah I wish there was a way to experience that version of the game still
(Kinda on topic still) heres an edit I made of clouds around home a while back and I love it so muchh
Wind paths does fit the role of a second Home where you have access to areas in every realm you might not have known about
my altair is named after the star in the aquila constellation lol
alr im done talking now
I actually disagree. New isle is far too big and empty for my liking. I sorta have a grudge against it, because the slow start made me not want to play sky fully years ago, and now I deal with that fomo feeling all the time haha.
I prefered the more interactive and guiding light of LA isle. Also just the fact of its aesthetic compared to the new isle.
there was a long flying lead-in to aviary that was tedious after the first time (ahem end of isle), and then to get into any realm it took a long time just to fly to the gates. and it made home weirdly redundant
yea it is very cozy honestly, I should visit more often
and then there was the daily quest hub... if aviary didn't split you up, the quest hub definitely would
yeah :,0 I have super fomo too, when I see the videos of it I want to experience it soooo baddd
Thinking about this, a floating island with a floating lake in home would be cool. Again ima design some ideas later.
I wanna visit wind paths more but the seasonal like glitch still scares me haha
seasonal like glitch? :0
New Isle gives the apocalyptic and fantasy-like atmosphere though. Even if Sky is very linear, the large expansive areas make it feel like it’s open world, and that’s something that LA doesn’t have as much.
I would always ignore the areas linked to wind paths bc I could just go to wind paths and visit them to do candle runs
Now that I can't do that bc seasonal candles, it's made candle runs a tiny bit more stressful for me
yeah I love both versions a lot
you can't just... go Home and walk through the portals to where the seasonal candles are?
here's a gallery shiracheshire made with home/aviary change history: https://imgur.com/a/ZbOOVnv
Thats true! I guess its just up to personal opinions, I prefer how the old LA game felt in aesthetic and style (probs not in gameplay with some parts though)
But it inspires me creatively
No I mean I don't want my seasonal candles to reset.
that's only a consequence of if you're trying to trigger the Home assets glitch. if not, you'll be fine
appears :3
Agree to disagree! Isle is my favorite realm, I think the emptiness adds a desolate feel similar to the one in Wasteland… you can tell it wasn’t always like that and it makes you want to know more
Wind paths itself is bugged and resets your seasonal candles #known-issues
I like the risk, keeps me on my toes
Drawing hearts around them, I love that I immediately guessed who posted this before I saw your username
Im starting to love new isle despite my grudge, but yeah! I do agree the desolateness is great.
As an old journey fan it def helped me feel better about the game since it felt similiar to the start of journey?
I just still prefer the old isle aesthetic due to the like feeling it gives me though.
Fun discussion on this though
It’s cause flight guide keeps eating them ☹️
the current version of isle felt a little too big and empty to me, but it started to make sense for me when the spirit quest was added that shows the star child falling and the two spirits going to rescue them
I saw aviary
I've been to the Wind Paths multiple times and my seasonal candles have been fine. again, the candle conversion bug is linked to the Home assets glitch, so if you're not going to trigger that glitch then you'll be fine.
I LOVE STARGAZERS MEMORY IT MAKES ME LOSE IT EVERY TIME AT THEIR CONFUSED EXPRESSIONS
I just imagined the vine boom when they exchange the look so ty salem
and of course the animation showing the isle back in the day with green everywhere
"a child?"
AH! your right! I totally forget about the spirits memories.
Honestly when I think of green isle it makes sense again
In my mind it's better not to risk doing that at ALL so I prefer not going there until they stop it from doing that
there's been bugs in the game for nearly two years, you might be waiting a while
I'm looking thro this and wow I feel fomo when I see this... its something straight out of my dreams
I'm ending this conversation
Ancient green isle… it makes me nostalgic everytime, even though I’ve obviously never been there. I’m not really sure how that works but it totally adds to the emotional gutpunch feeling of seeing it
You remind be the eden yet glitch still happens
I was helping 3 moths in eden and it took awhile, i guess somebody skipped to just begin ascending and triggerd the bug when I finally died, i felt so bad cuz that’s such a game breaking bug for the immersion
Oof idk if I turned ping off sorry if I didn’t al
That's very pretty
you're fine, tac
I love Isle so much… underrated realm… Isle Sweep
eat sands
not sans
just thought of this- might it be significant that the first voice we're born with matches orbit's song so well?
haha, that was after the friend shrines were changed from little piles of stones that frankly didn't look like stones
I think all calls do though, if you honk it goes along with the tune
oh i didnt know that! i meant more like uhh how do i explain;.. like how it matched the notes themselves perfectly? maybe im overanalyzing im sneepy
same tbh my tummy hurts
No you’re right! It’s the same voice iirc, leading to the idea that the same voice singing the song in Orbit (often assumed to be Megabird) is the one who ‘talks’ us through the intro
🛏️
ohh that's so cool! so we're separating AURORA from the voice then- good to know it gets confusing sometimes
Yeah! AURORA likely takes more of a voice actor role than a character in her own right
this is so interesting to me! thank you
Noooo :(.. I am resting though
I also believe that this isn't the first time megabird sent us down
Waters I noticed you were confused about red light earlier; I have a write up on all the enchantment colored lights, do you want it?
Sure. I know what they are, just not the story or deeper thought behind them. I am also going to read baud's take.
Yeah, the intro pretty clearly calls this our ‘return’, although what that means isn’t really explained.
I'd love that
it's that I know someone who thought they were spicy (stars I'm so late I was on rehearsal break)
meta-lore, a little more aviary, including the krill/cucumbers that were flying around in the distance https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drexBdVIDGU
Krillumbers
I miss mountainous isle
kukrillbers
wait I was just gonna ask about the colored lights!
I know I said I was ending this but I just looked up what glitch you're talking about. Its ABSOLUTELY something that can be triggered without meaning to, which is why I'm keeping it in my mind to stay away for as long as possible, so i don't risk activating it while trying to save my candles for Remembrance
Your seasonal currency may be fine and I'm very happy to see that you're not experiencing the issue but that doesn't mean I shouldn't worry about activating the exact same thing. Something that already happened to me before I knew there was even an issue, literally just collecting all of the map shrines, and then I lost all my Aurora currency (wasn't that much of an issue because it was almost over already but doesn't mean it can't happen again with the brand new season)
underneath darkened skies, there's a light kept alive
Oh my goodness that's a very low spice tolerance, also no worries
Oh wow, bell peppers (we call them capsicum here!) aren't at all spicy, they're like refreshing and crumchy snacks!
I cannot stand any spice I am too sensitive to it. Even bell peppers are too much for me. 😔
That's so fascinating! I love spicy food, I can't imagine not having a tolerance for it :")
L+skill issue+ eat good food+ you eat Lightseeker cuisine
I love eating spicy food but I can barely handle anything even a bit spicier than pepperoni
There's a thing called Slim Jim's over here in the states that has a whole box of a smaller size which is like 3-4 of the big ones and. I often eat those all in one sitting
Hey I just had some awesome pickled chicken with onion rings and broccoli tempura
If that is Lightseeker cuisine then I am honored to dine with them.
In #beta-discussion someone just made krill tempura
#lore-discussion-spoilers turned into #food-lore-discussion-spoilers.
What bugs are you referring to? I've reported several bugs and am fairly good at reproducing them
oh my gods, where do I start
Chibi fall
slaps sky
this bad boy can fit so many bugs in it
late but thinking abt them </3 that stance
Quick question
What we thinking of the current Remembrance quests so far 👀👀
#lore-discussion-spoilers message here’s my take on the current quests and what i think could happen next!
IM SORRY I HAD TO LEAVE AND GHOSTED YOU BOTH
BUT I AM BACK
@cold sparrow & @random token tagging you too to see, this is just a general description of them
Colored lights are a specific type of light in Sky that are part of its magic system and can be used by ancestors, elders, and presumably skykids. You might recognize them from Enchantment.
Each has a specific personality trait associated with it; for orange through blue these are given to us by the Trials’ descriptions, but for red and purple they are theorized.
Red - Void - Tradition - Isle
controls darkness and its ability to ‘consume/release’ things. Imagine darkness like a Venus flytrap; red light can influence its opening and closing, releasing things it already consumed. This is how it brought back the Ark’s murals; darkness had consumed and destroyed them, and Nodding Muralist used it to bring them back.
Orange - Fire - Courage - Wasteland
controls and brings flame, especially in relation to the flames/inner light of creatures; hence why it summoned light creatures for the ark.
[Yellow is the color of general, non elemental light. It’s possibly associated with Eden.]
Green - Earth - Tenacity - Prairie
controls rocks, plants, & is also related to light creatures, similar to Fire.
Cyan - Air - Balance - Valley
Controls air & air currents, makes things float, and presumably can create things like vacuums as well, but we don’t know for sure.
Blue - Water - Patience - Forest
controls & purifies water, can bring rain.
Purple - Mind - Creativity - Vault
can manifest tangible constructs out of light, like how it created the tents in the ark.
runs aroung yesss
AYEEE thank you that’s super informative love love 🤩
OH, that makes much better sense, now that I think about "catch the light" quests and what areas they're in as well.
The colored lights are super interesting to me, they’re one of my favorite things to talk about! I wish they tied into the lore more.
Realizing I should probably add to the list which elder is theorized to possess each light — prophecy murals show they each get one. Doing that rq
There we go! Added them
wow
It does seem like certain colors are tied to certain aspects
Like for instance, mandatory spirits are blue, while the other ones are urple, sometimes yellow
Salem with the incredible and informative write-ups 🤘
actually thats quite useful steals link
The infinity spirits jk
This is very detailed and well done and makes a lot of sense
Speaking of lore I've been obsessed with the idea of a fan story lately lmao, I'm trying to make a bunch of proof of concept sketches so i can post them either here or at the fanart page. But given I'll add lore stubs i think it'll fit here despite being fanlore
Or not idk, correct me if I'm wrong
Yeah! That’s more the game’s general use of color to communicate things more than strictly associated with colored light. Since Sky almost entirely uses visual and environmental storytelling over a text-based alternative, design elements like colors and shapes are often utilized to express certain elements in a character that people will pick up subconsciously. For example, the color red is almost entirely associated with danger and hostility. For shapes, a good example would be the elders, who are each themed around a specific shape; Prairie is round so that, without even realizing it, your brain sees them as nonthreatening and gentle right off the bat.
It’s really interesting to pick apart.
round
Also TYSM all for your compliments on the write up, I really appreciate it!!
The shape languages defo make sense
GW Elder represents strength
VOK represents delicateness
VOT represents rivalry
HF
Prairie represents comfort/ friendliness
IOD represents wisdom/guidance
This theory is here as well!
that’s way cool and I’m actually obsessed with these colored light theories
I wonder what happened to the elder of Eden though, it obviously used to be a part of the kingdom of its own
They’re gone
They were british, so the other elders had to seal them away for good 😔
“Yo mate you cant seal me away you blokes!”
I feel called out
Wait, but all the elders are sealed away in their pocket dimensions!

I shamefully admit this is exactly what happened. I came very close to having to show alexdolly british crab whisperer to explain the actions I took and am glad that did not end up happening
While I was imprisoned I relived piggyback lightseeker’s spirit memory, what is everyone’s thoughts on what was happening during it? I’m curious
ngl i forgor what it is
light seeking
it would be really funny if alexdolly popped in like "oh I saw it"
A brief summary from what I could tell:
Piggyback walks into the cave their memory is set in. They help boost another ancestor who was with them up to a ledge and they walk further into the cave, piggyback looks like they’re holding a torch. At the very end is rejecting voyager; once they meet up, they all do this almost… worshipy pose? at the light orbs in the boat at the end. I tried to get a good picture, but the timer ran out before I could
i'm so excited the piggyback spirit is returning. i can't wait to buy the hairstyle
Could you elaborate on what you mean by this? It makes sense, given their title and the fact our skykids usually name spirits based on what they see firsthand in their memories, but I’m lost on how they’re seeking light in their memory
i hate how i just open lorechat and am greeted with sans whisperer /hj
It’s important
Ohhh you just wait till you see the comic I made about gloat
Sans whisperer is a mere fraction of my power
ooh very interesting
i need to think on this
well that cave has that little ark holding three light orbs. Piggyback, the unnamed spirit, and Rejecting Voyager are in that cave for some reason. perhaps for those orbs – whether to place them there or to take them.
I've seen the thought go around that the three were going there for light to use to alleviate Rejecting Voyager's darkness sickness, since even in that memory Voyager has darkness plants sprouting from there. Piggyback, being a lightseeker, might've been more professed in utilizing light to heal. with the idea that light was waning in Isle, then it's possible the three went to desperate measures (looting an altar) to cure Voyager's darkness sickness.
on the other hand, perhaps they were placing the orbs there. granted, we don't see the orbs in the spirit memory itself, though I think ancestors can carry light internally and pull it out of themselves. not certain that's what happened here but yknow. but they do genuflect in front of the altar. again, referring to light waning in Isle, perhaps they gathered the some of the meager light they had available to be sheltered in the altar for some reason, like it was sacred and hallowed, or the light was under threat so it had to be stored for safe-keeping.
on one hand, I doubt the reverence idea and don't want to believe that. simply put, I have odd feelings about light being idolized that way. certainly during the ancestors time it was given light was important – "we were all given breath by starlight" – but seeing it idolized and worshiped light that brings up uncomfortable feelings, especially if this was during Isle's desertification. on the other hand, something similar occurs at the end of Shushing Light Scholar's spirit memory with two other nameless spirits. of course, both SLS and Piggyback's crews could be doing something practical with light that the spirit memories can't depict. we just aren't sure what.
did anyone get the new prop related to the second seasonal quest? i was impressed at how tall it stood. thoughts about the lack of chairs/seats for the prop as well (compared to other social props like the chat tables)? i sorta assumed it was because the item itself isn't necessarily a luxury (due to the circumstances of the times), but an example of how the spirits adapted and made do with what they had (survival mode).
To be fair ancestors are way taller than skykids so I assume to them it would be a regular size
oh yeah you're right because my sky kid is like the shortest height i think 😭
I just relived the memory and taking into account that the 3 light orbs are there in the presen I'd say that piggyback and the other 2 were placing light on the miniark
You also gotta remember that light offerings towards Elders seemed to be a common tradition back then in the early days of ancestors, and such offerings were sent using boats
YEAH this is pretty much my thoughts on it as well! I feel you on it being odd to think about light being worshipped; not only does it feel weird and wrong that it would be considered more important than rejecting voyager’s life (considering they have the darkness infection and that light would help it), it’s very hard to imagine that mentality existing in a world where it’s used for such things as powering batteries.
I thought about that for a bit too, and I see the connection, but the issue I ran into is that the boat wasn’t going anywhere. Like, instead of giving the light offerings to Dawn, they just put them on a boat shaped altar and ‘worshipped’ (for lack of a better word) them for awhile. If they were for an elder, why weren’t they given to an elder? If they couldn’t be given to that elder, why make it in the first place?
Maybe the Ark sailed from the isle? The mini boat was to wish it well?
I didn't fully relive the memory, I only did to the last part where they have the orbs in hand
Was there a cutscene post-reliving?
I wish I could tell you but that was exactly when the timer ran out for me
….this is another thought I could see
💀 oh well
Assuming there's no cutscene and the memory just ends with them offering the light to the boat, there's a chance that something might've happened outside that made them stop with whatever they were doing and go outside, with the memory ending right before that
Just imagine if they really were about to send the light to the Elder as a call for help/blessings and the thing that distracts them is the sound of the Eden explosion, and with it the "death"(?) of their Elder
the "cutscene" is just Piggyback doing the piggyback "get on me" emote. early seasons rarely had a cutscene when you freed the spirits from the husks
It’s possible, but the explosion being exactly then is so statistically unlikely that I’d want to find other possible options before I settled on that one, if it makes sense
No yeah you're right but also the thought just came to my brain and I had to write it down because I couldn't think of anything else
It'd be quite a tragic irony if that were to be the case tho, if I ever end up writing Sky fics this might be my first one's plot
Or maybe, the ark fell then people offered light to a mini alter when hearing the news.
The ark was accompanied by at least 3 other ships, one smaller one also crashing, i presume the one thats in the vault desert. nvm that i forgot the other one in the same location
The problem is that season of enchantment is so far after lightseekers in terms of development that idk if they planned that far ahead
gotta go. goodnight or day everyone!
they may well have but it's hard to say
At the very least, arks are important to their society to transport resources.
Maybe they had larger arks vist each major location bringing resources up, we don't really know the destination of the larger ark, maybe it was to the city that was in the golden sands, Or maybe beyond.
I'd still like to think they birth from the ilse, to transport water up.
The abyss wasn't really their to collect water, probably a research base for the depths before it flooded, sanctuary seems relatively none able to provide large quantities of water from who ever lived there, the rain water and water in Forest isnt the cleanest only place left is the isle...
honest to goodness I have no idea what’s up with Lightseekers. they sure do be seeking that light i guess
And into piggybacks
Which tbh was probably more a game making decision rather than lore decision, like people said an early season
I think Salem should be re-muted for making me look at british crab whisperer and reminding me hetalia exists ||/j||
I didn’t do the second one king you did that yourself
i think that was tac
That was a team effort to be mean to me
It was a necessary one /t
i saw hetalia hi
also just came back from another round of the concert
is it known if the mantas in 'warrior' are being caught for manta racing, for their light essence, or both ?
It's up to you, personally I think that they were caught for darkstone production; fortunately they break free at the end...
that's what i was thinking, since the seed follows up with the poor babies being attacked during the war, but honestly i feel like maybe it goes both ways? some for darkstone, some for racing
Could be like horses
ooh maybe
My idea is that mantas are just caught in general, and then based on certain characteristics they have they're either used for dark stone or racing
I imagine the race ones are bigger, show some kind of special temperament, or have different patterns (even if different patterns can't really be shown in game without a million different models of mantas)
Getting into the details about species differences is hard when Im currently stuck on mobile and all my screenshots are on my computer but
I find it very cool how there are mantas in sanctuary that look pretty different from other mantas from other places. Specifically the biggest ones you see there
i love mantas so much 🥺 it still pains me seeing that they were caught and killed and treated so horribly by some spirits
Same! It's. Why I made an entire character so I have an excuse to draw mantas every time I want to draw something related to Sky
RIGHT ABSOLTUELY SAME
like these poor sky pancakes 😭 they never deserved it
Poor cloud pancakes
at least that's not happening anymore though right? Like, today's mantas don't have to worry about it.
yeah, that's the good part,,now they have tons of skykid friends !!
I do wonder if the sanctuary mantas are a different species of manta or if there's something about being in sanctuary that makes them look different
im not sure, but i love them all with my entire whole heart
I just want you to feel you're doing well
i really needed this right now actually,,
When will the elder king make an appearance in sky brah
Wayyyy later, if the king even can make an appearance
SPY KIDS?
I’m gonna be 80 years old by then 👵🏻
Hello does anyone have a illustration of what the playable areas of eden look like compared to what it should look like?
What do you mean ?
There’s concept art and old versions of Eden if that helps
Morning lore, I live here
hello i live here too
i am the gremlin that lives in lorechat's walls
i lurk lore chat like a second job😍
the playable areas are what Eden should look like, concept art is not final at all
if you have any ideas, feel free to share! even if you think they're not very good, I've found a lot of the fun is bouncing things off of each other
i literally read this as "feel free to share, even if they're not very good" and i was about to be like WHAT
Do you mean like… Eden as it is now vs a reconstruction of Eden before the disaster? If it’s what you’re asking, I don’t have one for Eden yet, but I drew one for Forest, isle, and wasteland each
Is it okay if I ask to see the drawings? ^^
YEAH! Hopefully they’ll post correctly, I’ll post them separately due to large file sizes. This one is Forest’s and my personal favorite
Here’s Wasteland’s
And Isle’s. This was a collab with a dear friend who isn’t on the server, Bird, who drew the ancestors while I did the bg
SALE@ ART RAAAAA
Thank you so much for asking to see them, I really enjoy the chance to show them off! There’s a lot of tiny lore/headcanon details in each if you want to pick them apart >:3 I wanted to do Eden next, but sadly never got around to it.

I had a question! Is there any like- widely accepted lore about Golden Wasteland? Mainly looking for like War lore and such for my OC im making :) Dms are open too and thanks in advance!
Think the most widely accepted is that the war was a civil war, against who we’re still not sure
Might be my opinion but a lot of my buds and I agree
cares about their warriors a lot, like to an heartbreaking amount how much we see them caring about them
and it seems like large parts of the golden wasteland were an industrial district, most likely for darkstone production
it's likely that there were some living quarters there too, but we've seen little of it
and the temple of the wasteland is guarding the entrance to the vault, probably once guarded with the kingdom's military force/official guard
anything else is up for interpretation
That too!
I was wondering where the flight to orbit took place in eden
What ever it is, it may be either a replicator of the vault or the vaults a replicator of the top. At least there is one re used main asset which is the vault temple area
at the top of the mountain and above
this one looks interesting but im not sure what to say of it just that its some kind of memory
I think that's the concept behind Night Elder's cutscene when they show up the realm constellations, stories about the kingdom
uwu
Lore theory:
There is no coherent timeline, the devs just make random stuff up as they go.
Fnaf lore
hi so I was wondering if anyone could direct me to like a singular post or doc that sorta has the most popular or most widely accepted lore for Sky? I like coming up with stuff on my own, but I usually work best when I can snowball off of other people's stuff, so starting with basically nothing is pretty hard for me...
Little question
Has TGC posted a TLP concept art blog yet? Just curious
tysm! looks like I've got some reading to do!
Wait what
May I have the link to it please?
Augh I know it exists but not to sure where it originally came from, I think it was from a video interview or a livestream but I could be wrong
OK I THINK I FOUND IT
https://www.thatskygame.com/news/season-of-the-little-prince-update
It is at the very bottom (sadly only 4 images but at least it is better than none)
Oo nice!!
Not a blog per se but check the pins for some tweets
Plot twist: there is no lore it’s just a dream
Anyone knows what is that building? Is it where we spawn?
It could just be the Vault but just really far away
OOHHHH
Wait-
Huh? It doesn't look like Vault...
Like the outside of it is a lot bigger than the gate
OHHHHH I GET IT I GET IT
MAKE SENSE
That might as well be another factory, just far out into the distance. I personally don't think it is Valley since it should be way higher than that
- there are no clouds above Valley as far as I can see
Hum hum
This is make sense too
uhm... what did i just find? are these the ancestors? are they... ⚰️? what's the lore behind this gruesome scene
They are the realm elders!
are they ⚰️?
You can see them at the end of each realm when you light up their altars, a cut scene plays
what's the red thing in the middle and the star shaped thing on top of it?
We have little information about that star... but some players theorize that that's Eden's elder (the king) bursting from the Eden diamond (big red thing in the middle)
Keep in mind that the king is not canon and we dont actually know if it is them!
oohhh interesting
Yes very! People all have different theories, some others think it might be the chosen one from the Prophecy trials!
So... in theory, my theory or just my imagination, the elders from the 6 maps gathered to witness the birth of the seventh elder (eden) then the egg (the red thingy) burst and caused the whole sky popular to be ⚰️
The chosen one could also be the king, but again, we dont know anything for sure
