here's the 2 options to move foward from the second platform of the 3 platform section in the trial of water.
The one that doesn't lead to a platform needs better timing cause you need to jump out of the platform while the water is going down but is more higher than the other option.
In the case of the path that lead to another platform it needs you to have a bit of speed to make a decent jump out of the platform (maybe use all the platform to gain some) or jump in the right moment.

Using your ears actually helps the difference!
Sand has a more lighter trotting sound. “Tsstst-tsstst-tsstst” if that makes sense.
Dirt has a defaulted trotting sound. “Trrt-trrt-ttrt-trrt”
Snow has a solid yet watery sound when stepped on. “Krrt-krtt-krrrt-krrt”
Ice has a delicate sound, almost like glass. “Clink-clink-clinkclink-clink”

@frigid torrent Thanks for confirming it’s possible. After restarting I managed it after another half dozen attempts. Then got sent back several save points, thought may way back up and the save point before the ridiculous bit wasn’t working. Not doing the previous section for each of 20+ attempts so I’m done.
