It’s the last realm where you go to get reborn and in order to get something called ascended candles or shortened to “AC”
You go in there and at the final part there will be statues yes that you can give back your winged light you’ve collected throughout each realm

You can purchase different things with these ascended candles. One of them being a lock in spirit trees which is called “wing buffs” !
When you buy a wing buff you have to go through Eden to obtain it. These buffs are bought from regular and traveling spirits.
There are wingbuff nodes on friendshiptrees but these will not gain you any wing power after you get reborn

no, not at all. The only place you gain wax in eden is during the flight up to orbit, and it's not a lot

Mm, not really. It's good for getting ascended candles but for regular candles you only get them at the end yeah, so it's kind of a hassle to go through that every day just to get a small amount of wax (maybe 1-2 candles). You can get much more than that by just running all the other realms

Was eden buffed this week or something? Last week I ended with 15 lights left. This week I died before I could light the last one. I couldn't get up way too long while losing lights. Or was it just a connection/server issue? I've been getting the yellow wifi icon a lot today (before I went to eden) - and at the same time as my friends, so we'd get split and know it's sky server issue. But when I soloed eden I didn't get the icon.

Mm, kind of I guess since you only get it after going through Eden. It's just a bonus winged light in your cape, but it's one that is collected automatically and doesn't have a glowing yellow figure that you need to tap on to collect like the typical ones in the other realms

It's a bonus winged light that you automatically receive right before the credits start. Wing Buffs on the other hand can be acquired by using Ascended Candles.

Wing buffs don't get lost until you have no realm WL. The credits WL can be lost before all realm WL are, so it isn't really a wing buff.

As far as i know, it should be the same as the current build on beta. There might have been some updates and changes in between though so don't take my word for it. I do like the new layout of eden and the changes itself - the issue is the damage crawling mechanic.

My take on it all is that they want to make eden more difficult for vets and experienced players, and left little to no thoughts for the newer players.

god i feel bad for new players. The crawling is so badly slow that by the time you manage to get up after a hit by a krill or something, that wl is already gone. The tip in the bottom to collect dropped wl to save it is just mocking at this point

They changed it somewhat so there isn't endless rock rain anymore, it's periodic the whole way through with different indicators to show you when and where it's safe to move

thank you TCH for making Eden playable again, i literally did not do it for months dreading the frustratingly broken physics (red rain clipping through hiding places, being halted for several seconds on every hit to get pelted to death, ect)

the first area platforming still felt bad until i figured out the secret of watching when our kid hunkers down >> which was a thing FOREVER i just didn't realize it rofl

and now that those issues have been fixed, i could actually make it by hiding and going for openings as it was meant to be (and the extra torches and adjusted second half rain is Greatly appreciated)- at 148 wl (i had a mishap with the final krill) i actually made it to the final two statues before dying!

Y’all I just tried the new Eden and I HATE IT 😭😭😭😭 I’ve been playing for a couple months and just went back mid-week to try out the update and hopefully make it to the end, for once, with 130 winged lights. As a moderately more experienced moth, it’s way too easy in the middle section and way too difficult at the end. Like the difficulty just amps up immediately when you begin crawling. And I LITERALLY HAVE NO MOVEMENT during crawling. In fact, I think I must have glitched at first because I began crawling and wasn’t responding to the sconce I had lit, for a good few seconds, long enough to get hit again. It was incredibly frustrating. Like ok, I get that you have to die at the end and it has to be hard. But the gradient of difficulty was much more smooth before, and now my goal of ever getting to the end one day seems impossible. #feelingfrustrated 😫😞

Usually it isn’t, but when it’s the difference between being able to wing buff a friend to unlock warp, plus just the feeling of accomplishment - like I’ll know I’m not a moth anymore when I can make it to the end of Eden.

just went to eden today for the first time in a few months to check out the update, and is there like . way more statues than there used to be??? like most of it looked the same but i somehow got lost trying to get the two statues on the far top left side of the map that are pretty close to the endless rock rain section, but then i kept finding more statues around there and new sconces and long story short me and my friend ended up super lost and somehow in the endless rock rain section and man was it brutal 😭😭 i have 171 wl and only managed to get 13 ac this run bc everything past a certain point looked completely different and i couldnt orient myself at all

also i noticed u can no longer jump to walk faster in this room or do emotes anymore, the whole menu is gone

u can’t jump after hugging the skykid either but u have infinite wings now bc once again, no wedge icon at all

wind is not stronger for me altho its more ashy, this will surely mess ur navigation.
More high terrains (?) mean more safe spots, but 1 particular "safe spot" still has rocks going thru it, so not really a good spot to protect urself (i forgot to take picture of that spot dang)
The crawl part actually aren't that long and not that bad as i expect it to be, and weirdly in some situations, it does help me to duck the incoming rocks haha

Went to Eden with two friends yesterday because we wanted to see the new changes! Honestly Eden didn't feel as bad as we expected! Which is great! Getting through Eden to pnr was more difficult, but it wasnt too bad with a recharge prop and friends

when I died I turned into that blue light like when youre spectating someone but it seems like I was spectating someone that was already dead because when I tapped my light it sometimes showed a friendship tree

We were under the map and sometimes moved randomly until I got launched out of the map and kept floating up for a bit, then my game froze and then it crashed

I heard there was an Eden update but I didnt see anything different so thats probably the data thats being downloaded

Anyone knows if I need to do the statues part again? and is it really that different?

It didnt send me there, it just sent me to Home and told me to continue my journey and when I used the return shrine it sent me to the beginning of the statues part, but I had no WL because I had already used them before crashing so I died during the cutscene

yeah, just took it yesterday

it actually easier than it was in the last update, the last update changed the terrain a bit at the end where you’d oob in and usually get the little pop up about pnr and click no, it instead put u right next to the diamond with no pop up and you’d have to go back down to the dark water and find a crack in the wall that would put u in the middle of the cave

but in 0.18.0 the pnr pop up is back if u go near the diamond as you would previously before the terrain change, and it still works just the same

The crawling is a nightmare!

At least I got around the same amount of candles I usually do lol. With around 80 wl, I can get like 11-12 ac, I came in with 82, collected the wl from Eden, and then I managed to get about 10.25 ac.

When my light was out and redstone hit me, I lost like 4-5 wl just from that... I think that's a bit too much. The crawling is also REALLY slow.

I really do like Eden though. It's my favorite realm.

I don’t know how, but I somehow managed to find (and slam hard into) what is probably the only solid block of light in the whole dang Eden.
I was cruising with the music until I bonked right into the dang block and heard what sounded equivalent to breaking your neck.

My Big Tip for the new Eden Update!!
Prioritize creating light sources in the beacons over actually getting statues. You can get the statues after lighting the beacons, and the you’ll have a backup recharch station if the red rocks hit you after getting the statues nearby.

Have a tip for you since I learnt it like flawlessly like, the second time i tried to fly up there

On the pathway you will see on your right as you walk, a spike, on the right side of the spike there you will go ahead and take off, just not on the edge

Fly, to flight mode directly and just keep flicking your joystick on a 120° - 100° angle

Note: I havent tried this alone yet, so I have no idea if it will have the same effect as being alone vs having someone piggyback on you

The patch has brought forth what I can simply describe as a “down animation” for when your flame extinguishes.

I dunno if it does it outside of pnr, haven’t tested that for myself, but it makes things a whole lot more difficult

You already aquire the candles when you take in all of the wl in the end. You are then left with 1 candle to tap and collect. But the total candles you get remains the same. Take a screen shot before you go to eden, and after. You'll see you don't in fact get 1 candle, it just looks like it.

Yes, if your light gets fully extinguished anywhere in sky you start crawling. Getting krilled is a lot more consequential than it used to be. I’m curious if you can get krilled again while you’re still crawling, I imagine so. Almost nobody is gonna be burning the tree in graveyard. I’ve already rescued a couple of crawling moths in Wasteland since the patch update.

you don't get krilled when you're crawling! i went to eden (but didn't enter pnr, just wanted to see what they changed) and had to help out two chibis who lost their light. a krill passed them both multiple times when they lost their light at the last section before pnr and didn't even notice them

eden is designed to be tackled with multiple players - even as you go into the very first door, it says "travel in groups to protect your light"

typically, as you enter eden after opening the large door, you'll see other groups of skykids heading that way too.

despite that, not many people are willing to go through the whole of eden. they might uber to you a certain part but leave you there because they've already completed it this week.

generally, though, discord is more helpful for finding safe eden shepherds. there was an update recently that changed some of the eden mechanics so there's a chance - there's always a chance - that something might go wrong, though.

people tend to go on saturday and sunday, since the reset occurs between those 2 days (in Pacific Daylight Time)

those who hadnt completed it get a last minute run while others go in the first available day of the new week

||Also you go through Eden to collect Ascended Candles (sometimes known as ‘AC’) which you use to buy wing buffs from the spirits in the 6 main constellations (Isle, Prairie, Forest etc). You can buy these wing buffs from the home constellations or constellations at the end of temples and then the next time you finish Eden they will be ‘redeemed’ and Winged Light. Basically they’re permanent winged light. If you buy wing buffs at the end of Eden (the blue, starry area called Orbit) you will have to wait till you go through Eden again to be able to redeem the winged light||

I gotta say, I love the changes to Eden. I didn’t get as many ascended candles as usual, but oh well. It’s definitely more challenging but if Sky needs anything to give it more life it’s some challenges. And it definitely incentivizes cooperation more. I made friends with a moth there and I was as glad to have their help as they were to have mine. And I love the crawl animation and blue crystals. Looks amazing!

Yeah I get that not everyone likes the changes and that’s ok but personally I love them. I think there’s room for some minor tweaks but overall I’m generally a fan of making Sky more challenging. But then I was a prophecy moth and it’s still my favorite season.

I think the change was likely made in part to increase the incentive to cooperate, and also because we’ll be able to earn ascended candles with some of the eden eruptions that will start with Shattering. It’s not like it’s all that much harder to get all the way through Eden, it’s just a lot harder to earn AC before you die.

This is what excites me about Shattering, and why I love the changes to Eden- IMO Sky is at its best when it creates natural opportunities for players to collaborate by presenting challenges that are hard to face alone. Assembly was cute, but the forced collaboration aspect was just kind of annoying. Prophecy’s trials, on the other hand, could all be faced alone but were easier to complete with help from others. And the camaraderie in #seasons-events-chat during that season was great as well, with people sharing tips and tricks and just commiserating. I’m hoping Shattering creates the same vibe. It already is to a degree with the pain being inflicted by the changes to Eden.

What is this 'pnr' I've seen people talk about?

It is a short term for point of no return, located in Eye of Eden, where the game will ask the player: "There is NO turning back past this point. Do you commit to entering?"

Upon selecting yes, there will be no more warnings given to the player and if they go too far into the tunnel, they are sent past the point of no return. There is no way to escape once you enter.

If the player selects no, they will be asked if they would like to return home. If they say no, then there will also no longer be any prompts after that.

Look at all those delicious rock candies. Er, I mean winged light. Wow, this is tough, even for me. I can't save them all anymore, and it's definitely gotten so much more risky. I was upset I didn't light that stranger at first but I knew I couldn't take any risks because if I went down, there'd be no hope, so I left that rechargeable prop for them to attempt to crawl to. God, this is devastating to see.

Like, I don't know what to prioritize first: reviving the knocked down players or collecting the winged lights? I want to save them all but this update makes it so I can't even do that anymore. I don't even know what's worth saving, the player or their winged lights...

They really need to increase the range at which you can relight an extinguished player, because frankly, I have to stand still to relight them. I'd like to keep moving too, it's just too risky.

Seeing so many skykids struggling is really discouraging to me as a solo player. Especially with how many winged light they lose! I think I would be more chill with the crawling mechanic if the calling actually brought back a SMIDGE 🤏 of light or the winged light loss isn't as devastating as it is. What doesn't make sense to me is how the winged lights themselves don't relight the players when they're recollected, this is one of the biggest solutions to the crawling mechanic because winged light is literally light itself, a form of energy. Why is it that when we recollect lost energy, we don't gain the energy back?

It doesn't make sense. It should at least rekindle our flame and let us get back up quicker, I'd say it would encourage players to go more for winged light rather than lighting them to help them.

This is a big problem, if winged lights could rekindle players then it wouldn't matter much to go and help them as their reclaimed wing light gave them energy to move again. If a player is knocked to a crawl but doesn't lose winged light, then yes, theoretically your light will reignite them.

i entered eden with two friends, one a seasoned player, the other a returning one thats practically new, and the experience was horrible? this is our first encounter with the update, and i genuinely do not know how we made it anywhere near the end. the seasoned player and i had 100+ light, the moth only had a few stars on his wings, and we struggled even in the first spot with rocks. unless any of us lit the lanterns ahead of time, risking dying in the process, we were genuinely doomed.

and yet if the deep call recharge still worked, even just to briefly rekindle light/not all of the wedges, it'd give us enough time to light the lanterns we ended up needing to crawl to

eden was already a challenge before, though i suppose not enough of one considering i could feasibly run it alone (very slowly) but now to barely make it past the first couple areas? that was horrible, i really thought we werent going to make it to the point of no return.

i have no idea how it could really be improved without scaling back the difficulty too much? i do like the idea of gathering your fallen winged light rekindling your light even just a bit

idk, it makes eden a lot more nerve-wracking imo. parts of the update are cool, but im still hoping it'll get tweaked a bit

Hello I'm a fairly new player, I joined a couple weeks into season of performance and I could barely even do eden in two runs and with the new update its even harder , does anyone have any tips and things like that to help? (Sorry if this is not the correct channel to ask this)

Light the shrines in the zone 2 and then go back to get statues
Be patient and take it slow

Guys guys guys. For solo players out there, I noticed this on my eden run just now. So on the middle part of the map, the new one. There's this roaming red light. I think that's an indicator that the rock rain will be heavy there. It's not very noticable on the watery part but near the end you can see it clearly. Gives you around 5-8 seconds before it's safe to move to another place. Also hiding behind large stones, lamps and instant recharge potions are super helpful. Managed to get 15 on my run today. 😊 I think I only missed the one on the very edge of the map.

It’s doable but you need to be very careful not to get hit by the red rocks before you reach the continuous rain area
It would take longer to finish an eden run and you need more wl than before to reach the last statue tho

Truee I would have gotten them all but the crawling mechanic is so slow. 😭😭 I lost a lot before I could even get to the edge.

I will never understand how I managed it but I was able to just barely give my last light to the last statue

I had to make sure I didn’t lose any (not including statues) before the endless rain and even then it was rough

I think either crawling needs to be sped up a bit or we lose less WL from each hit, that was brutal. I will be sending feedback lol
