All of them is probably further than you think. Since you're asking these questions I doubt you'll make it to all of them unless you have close to 150 or more wl

I had like 107 and didn't get hit in the first half.

there are 33 statues in the first section (before the rock rain direction shifts), and about 50 statues total you can get without getting hit at all. so you can come out of Eden with 13 AC on average if you don't get hit until you need to at the end, and go in with a decent amount of WL.

The last 3 are much farther apart than the others though, in the final section where you have to get hit.

I don't have an image to explain better, but in the first part is 33 statues. The 2nd part begins near a cluster of 3 statues clumped together. Just past those 3 statues the rain of rocks change directions and come towards you. About the same distance apart are 3 recharge statues then after that it's hail mary to the end. Near the end is a sand hill you climb over with 3 statues spread very far apart and you'll most likely be stuck crawling by this point if not well before the hill. You probably won't get all 3 at the end with only 107 wings @outer oyster

The rock rain is pretty much unavoidable after the last recharge statue so it just comes down to rng how far you get without getting hit by the rock rain

Minimum 20 to get into eden, there's 63 statues total in the eye, but generally... get as many winged light as you can before going because the constant rain of rocks will knock the light out of you.

And go with friends to help relight eachother.

80% from getting hit in Storm? That's a lot, it's possible to get to the final section without getting hit, which is approximately 50 statues worth.

Yeah that was one of the changes made with season of Shattering as well. Which is why it's important to avoid getting hit
Stockpiling instant recharge spells helps if you do, so you only lose like 5 WL instead of 35. You can buy them for 1 AC on Friday, Saturday, Sunday from the Spell Shop at Ark, Aviary, or the Boat.

That doesn't sound right? I've closed out of the game in the same spot you have and still got the reward at the end. It sometimes just adds it directly without it doing the animation.

If you actually lit 15, that should have given you 3.75 AC. each statue is 0.25 AC and there are 63 of them total.

Though it might not be enough to make up for it, there's a red shard event right now, which gives 2.50 AC if you do it properly.

yeah once you enter storm, you are storm locked, so you have to finish it (there's technically exploits to get out of it, but we want to properly finish it here).

Normally you get a cutscene when you load back into the game while storm locked, which instructs you to meditate at the Return Shrine.
If you didn't get it in the Aviary, that really should be a bug report, or at least a feedback.

There's 33 statues in the first section alone, though a few are in easily missed corners if you don't know they're there.

Is it just a skill issue on my part or is Eden a whole heck of a lot harder than it used to be (~two years ago)? I used to be able to get all the statues easily with around 150 WL but I just went in with 160 or so and didn't even get the last 3. Also a lot more lights that I don't remember being there before (past where the endless rock rain used to be... which is also gone?)

Yes, it was changed with season of shattering. statues were moved, the crawl mechanic, proportional loss of WL. Some parts are harder, but there's now about 50 statues you could potentially reach without getting hit

Endless rain isn't gon, but the imterval of safe period gets shorter during section 2 until you reach section 3 and it's constant

Same thing happens during Aurora concert, which I see as partly canon in the sense of the Light using some sort of avatar-type form to tell a story to the sky kids via song. I think sky kids are pretty musical creatures so harmonies in general connect us to the Light

It really depends whether you have energy to do it weekly/how bad you want ascended candles

When I was still new, I did it weekly. Then it became once a month. Eventually I reach a point I've purchased all the base game wing buffs and have extras, so now I do eden once 3-4 months whenever I feel like it

Of course, if it's just ascended candles you need, there's an alternative which is red shard event you can do

I'm not a fan of shards, so I avoid them altogether. But yeah I'm not aiming any elder mask and I have plenty of AC in my savings, so the only reason to go to eden will eventually be because of accumulated wing buffs (or if tgc decides to throw an eden quest)

hmm, figure i'll drop this note here, as theres a chance it might help someone

normally have a lot of trouble doing eden with a friend of mine, due to the A/B group split ( im A, they're B ) - the server aggressively splits and usually kicks us right apart. Today i managed to do a whole eden run with them, and we weren't server merged by the door or the first area.

Normally, we'd run to the crystals and try to open the doors, one of us would be able to open it, and then we'd be merged immediately after, or a minute later randomly.

but today what we did instead was just sit around in the eden social area, running around a bit and not touching the crystals. after a little while, server merge opened the doors for us, and though my group A door looked more like a wall of bright light than a door, it seems like it decided to merge us both into a server where someone had already opened the door for us, and it alligned the two door openings for both of us

I remember the last times we made it through, my door was also glitched like that too. it might be the case that group A people get queue'd for a server merge when their door animation starts, but if that is skipped by a server merge opening that for them, they already were merged and they wont be again

Gotta stock up on those instant recharges on weekends.
Going with a friend is good too, since they can pick you up when you make a bad move and run into the rain.

My most recent Eden run, just yesterday, was the first I did "solo" in a while (I had a moth with me, but I cleaned out their WL in the first section, without a scratch).
And boy oh boy, without that safety net do I realize just how careless I am at times hahha

i've been fairly able to consistently get 13-14 candles with just around 90-100 winged light since returning to the game every week, it honestly doesn't feel too different to me but i had a very long break from the game, heh

typically dont go solo though, go with random people or a friend of mine

The only other tip I have is watching for the red water and the whistling sound, as they appear shortly before the rocks will actually hurt you, but I know a few statues are in weird places in the second section, that you really don't have the time to hide once you run to them and get caught out.

Like IDK, give us a button like Clicking the right stick to swap the focus, since the game can tell that there are other interactables, they just turned into diamonds.

No differences materially, but the experience you have now means you'll have a slightly better time of it all.
90 is a good estimate, though as 10 are in Eden, you can go in with 80 and pick up the last 10 along the way.

I typically go in with around 90, and that lets me get 13-14 out of the 15.75 of those candles a week, and thats usually good enough for me heh
the last 7 or so statues are quite difficult and i've only ever did em all with multiple trips or walking in with 130+ and getting really lucky lol

Yes. For several shrines near the end of Eden the red rocks have worn away the covering rocks of the shrine. It is still useful for light, but not for shelter.

when you say no to the prompt. it gives second prompt asking if you want to go home.

slightly silly thought. The structure you fly through after completing Eden crumbles the same way every time. You'd think after so many players have go through over the years, there'd be nothing left (I know it's scripted, the idea just amuses me a little)
Other thoughts, that one area of rocks you fly over into orbit. I wonder if it used to be anything. A planet, part of a planet, or even a structure maybe.
And the way the very top of Eden castel floats above the ruin, nearly out of the atmosphere itself. Is that structure safe from erosion? Will it float there for centuries until something disturbs it? Could anything possibly still "live" there?

There are ultimate hairstyles and three ultimate shield masks which are all bought with ascended candles, but those are unlocked after completing the constellations of each realm.

There is a tier in each spirit and traveling spirit (depicted as an illustrated cloud barrier) which, if unlocked, grants you extra wings upon rebirth. These are purchased from the spirit’s friendship tree using ascended candles.

But that’s it.

Player hitbox is the same size, but it's higher or lower depending on the height of the sky kid. if you are used to how a particular height reacts behind cover, there isn't a particular advantage specifically. (I am slightly shorter than average and my friend is slightly taller, but as long as we are both careful, we don't get hit.)
Apparently it is harder to keep chibi characters lit by their friends when in dark water (but I haven't had to escort a chibi personally).

I say the more important aspect is knowing where the statues are, and how to see when danger approaches (the whistling sound and red water precedes the rock rain falling).

(Being chibi does apparently help with doing the second area OOB skip faster, but isn't necessary for it.)

didn't get server merged apart once which was really cool. What i did last week seems to be pretty consistent, which is just holding hands with a friend and running around in the eden social area until you are server merged into somewhere with the door open.
Seems like both will end up merged into a single server, and it wont merge you again doing it like that, whereas if you try to interact with the crystals to open the door, it gets messy when one person has one crystal, and another has 5, and it merges you both apart.

From my observations:
Chibi:

• you will fall into the gap of death a lot
• it's much harder to do the shortcut in 2nd area for reasons unknown
• you will get hit by rocks less ( i think )

Tall:

• more chance of being hit
• easier to do shortcuts (so if you're doing that you avoid all the rocks anyways)

I don't know about after PNR. Someone else will have to supplement that information.

The main door now requires just one bollard of light to open. (There's a historical reason why it had five.) The main statue area is flooded higher than it used to be. The light shrines recharge you faster. It seems to be harder to get up the areas of steps near the beginning of Eden, but I may just be imagining that.

Although I tried this a year ago and it didn't give me any advantage, I now seem to find that doing little jumps as I run in the statue area gets me fewer hits from red rock. Again, I may just be imagining it. Or it may be that over the year I've gained most skill at it and now do it differently.

I think it just depends on the timing, I feel as if I have merged servers in PNR before if I'm taking too long, or at the very least other groups join in part way.

Wouldn't be surprised if there are fewer people running today because there's a TS tomorrow so that they can cash in the wing buff from it at the same time.

The way I've experienced it, you have a small chance of entering the storm with people already present in it, I usually spot one or two if I entered Eden by myself. I'm not sure how the merge works but I'm pretty sure it only happens to players who just entered the storm

It would make sense if they have some mechanic that allows lone players to merge so they aren't isolated

Yes, the entrance won‘t teleport you to wind paths except you watch the fireworks show in stormlocked. But if you want to escape stomlock, you can just enter the spell shop or cape shop and go back/home

interesting discovery(?) about Ultimate Shield Face Accessories!
During an Eden shard at Starlight Desert yesterday I took a hit which was enough to get my light extinguished, causing the shields protective bubble to activate!
But I guess it wasn't enough to make me lose any winglight, so the shield itself didn't break? leaving it in a state I haven't seen before.
It looks slightly yellow-golden rather than its usual super-bright bloomy glow :D

Yes. It's possible for a hit to be exactly strong enough to drain your energy without the next bit of strength, which would break the mask. I too have had this happen when a red crab knocked me directly into a red shard.

not new, every mask can take 2 small hits before breaking. Doesn't have to be "exactly strong enough", any hits that would normally result in wing loss are prevented the same

small hits include: normal crabs, shard crabs, red swirling rocks, red rocks in pnr. Big hits (one hit break): krill, black rocks

you're in group A, and im guessing they see 5 crystal switches there? so they'd be group B - in short the playerbase is sorta split between these two groups, one side effect is that its really hard to play eden together cross the group.

If you want to do eden with em, there's been one way that has worked very consistently for me -
Grab your friend's hand and walk into eden together, then walk around the social area for a few minutes, and eventually the both of you will be server merged together into a room where the door is automatically opened for you. you should be clear to go after that, and you shouldn't be split apart!
If your eden door turns into a big yellow glowing bugged looking thing, that means its open! thats a weird group A thing lol

My friend and I -we will try, and usually get split. I'm A, my best friend is in B. We will give up after a bit, he will try to take me thru holding my hand while on my side, I just see a glowing thing that won't let me thru. We'll make it in, but get split soon after 95% of the time. We did find a force way that hasn't failed just yet, though.

How we've done it- each go thru as you can, even if alone. Make it to the first statue, grab that. Both of you go home then. Join the other, then sit at the return disk at the same time. You'll spawn there side by side, no more changes . We'll be doing that again probably in a few hours.

I think it only works because it's not an entry point, it's a return instead. I think the merge is happening within that first space because the door interaction causes influx. The other is just a respawn where already were active, if I had to guess.

We've gone home in the mural room too and that's been okay, as long as we sit at the same time at the stone lady side by side to return to Eden, we come thru the same way.

What’s the most useful item to take along to Eden asides from an Elder’s mask and instant recharge spell?

I like the convinence of a light prop to set up on corners that have proper protection for faster/any recharging.
I personally carry the torch, which is nice to set up behind the pillar close to the end of section 1 with the single statue or in the little gap at the start of the second section with the two statues infront of it, so I don't need to rush to move back to a lantern.
It's less effective the farther into section 2 you go, as cover is few and far between and it getting broken or misplaced puts you on cooldown.

Mind that the different props take different amounts of time to recharge a single wedge if memory serves, though I'm having trouble finding the guide with the number of seconds each one takes. So that may be a factor in your results.

that's a hard number because it depends on if you get hit earlier on.
There's roughly 50 statues you can get without getting a single hit. but you'll want to budget for extra, especially if you're going solo.
While the last section has fewer statues, they are really far apart so you'd need more for that than you'd expect.

My friend didn't get it until they went with 190 WL, though we took some unnecessary hits that run, so we could do it in less.
(sometimes you don't get immediately extinguished in the third section, and you can jump through fast. my most recent run, I missed 2 statues by accident, but I also had that... bug? on my side, and I only had 150-odd WL)

So I guess go in with as much as you can. reference a map (post-shattering), and take your time. When the water turns red or you hear whistling, that's the early warning that rocks are going to hit you.

I just can't get the hang of the timing in part 2 where the rocks follow the "patrol" lights, and at this point I think I'd need a video to figure it out

Sorry, I don't, but you can maybe find it if you look for Playstation guides on youtube, as that version of the game has a trophy for getting a perfect run.

I'd hop over to eden for you to record what I'm talking about but I finally got around to doing a full WLR again (it's like 3 hours long now...)

The timing does get quicker as you go deeper into section 2 so it's not an even pattern. but you can run before the rocks stop, as long as the water has gone back
(it's not an exact science there... and I'd have to study the tells I'm using in more detail to describe them properly.)

Yeah my 190 WL friend is also on Playstation and that's the run we finally got it on.
Honestly, if you can make it to the last statue with a few WL to spare, your issue may be forgetting one along the way (that happens a lot to me, I memorized the locations but sometimes I get too into the zone and forget to look around )

It's really easy to get turned around (doesn't help that the draw distance for the "lit" flames is absurdly low for some reason). There's a map floating around here which helps. I always get hit and panic halfway through the 2nd zone so learning the tells would be really nice

My personal trick in section one, which has 33 statues, is using my WL as a counter. as long as I don't take a hit, and I know what I went in with, I know I cleared that section 100%.

At this point I can get really close as long as I don't mess up the first half of the level, but the latter portion stymies me. I'm wondering if the 3rd zone (endless rain) is truly random or if there's any actual strategy to it besides spray and pray

It's not random, once you reach the final lanturn (or maybe a little before) the rain is constant.
at least visually, it might not always hit you? Like it only registers a hit every once in a while. Still you'll want to be able to eat one hit in making the jump from the second last to the last lantern because that will eat WL like crazy if you fall in between those two lanterns

I'm more wondering, once you're in zone 3 and it's raining constantly, if there's any strategy besides "accept you'll get hit soon and just crawl forward"

I'm not sure about the hit rate, I just know I have funny clips about it.
No strategy beyond crawl towards the next one. you can give it from a small distance away though (console advantage), so keep crawling even as you give.
And if you get lucky like this, jump like mad because it will not last long haha.

Back during the old days before crawling existed, if you jumped in the constant rain of rocks, you'd instantly get knocked down. So now you can actually jump with little chance of getting knocked down while going through the neverending rock rain. It only increases the risk the further you go in the storm.

you get 0.25 ascended candles for each statue you light, with 63 statues for a total of 15.75 candles. statues reset every week and you can light statues you missed in your previous run as long as reset hasn't happened yet

With regard to spells, don't waste them. Remember: all you're getting from living longer in Eden is Ascended Candles. So you're buying perhaps one more candle (four spirits) with a spell. It may be that spells are more useful.

A note on bringing moths to Eden.
I genuinely adore adopting moths and taking them to pnr. I usually follow a collection of them up to the second area. I friend those that don't race up the hill and I fly them up to the tunnel real fast. I worry and hope they won't let go and run ahead when I'm timing the rock rain. When I get to the spot at the end it's always so sad. They are grateful. But I cannot follow. I often have to urge them to continue. I must bring more. I may not go through the Eye itself very often, but I bring enough people there that I should not be counted useless to those lost to the storm.

Since you probably (unless your extremely lucky) need the extra winged buffs to get the last few

Did a run yesterday starting with 105, grabbed the extra 10 through Eden, and managed to get 56. Made one mistake right before the third zone and lost 5 WL unnecessarily, but otherwise a clean run. Have seen others recommend 150~ for a good safety net.

Not exactly, but I find that following a map is usually the best way to do it

There are some Eden maps in here for the beginning sections and other maps for the statue area. I can DM the ones I use if you'd like, or you can search for them in this channel.
I usually pull up the maps on a separate device and follow them while I go through, but you can always draw the maps or print them out instead!

Another suggestion is to ask someone to take you through Eden! You can ask in #looking-for-group-live

^ I will also add that asking someone to take you won't necessarily make the statue area easier. I'd follow a map for that area regardless

But if you only barely got, idk 6 AC, that means there's a lot more statues left in the area (as weekly max is 15.75).

There are ways to make it easier. If you’re going alone, know your checkpoints. You can always go home to recharge after passing a checkpoint (just make sure it’s a safe one). The first rock rain you can skip altogether by heading down the mountain and back up, essentially walking under the flying rock path. And most importantly just get comfortable. The more you do it the easier it is 🙂

Yes, you are above the map. The game attempted to put you in spectator mode even though nobody is actually alive in your server instance.

If you receive this bug, everyone in your group must wait ~5 minutes for the “move on without waiting for others” dialogue box. Then, everyone must press “yes” or the ✅ around the same time, which will take you to the falling void cutscene as intended. It’s the only way we’ve found to prevent losing the server you established in Eden PNR and still see your friends in Orbit if this terrible bug happens.

If you don't go past the point of no return, you can get the winged light before it
You can also obtain winged light from spirits you got wing buffs from (the lock icons) as bonuses to winged light you find in realms

Took a moth friend through Eden yesterday, my first time escorting someone else and I was sure it was going to end in disaster but it actually worked out really well, made it past all the rocks and krills without losing any light and went to orbit together 🥰 I think I can officially stop being afraid of running Eden

technically the point of doing eden is to give out your wl to the statues, as many as you can, to accumulate ascended candles. Each statue is 1/4 of a ascended candle

You get one candle every 4 spirits. There are 63 spirits in total. It is extremely unusual to get them all. So 13 candles is considered good, 14 excellent, 15 perfection.

Don't worry. I've done Eden with >160 light and and lost half of them just through unlucky hits.

It's worth saying once again that Eden is designed to defeat you. The nearer you get to finishing it, the tougher it gets. Don't feel bad just because you can't save maximum spirits.

Yeah I noticed. I was getting towards the end of the map and there were none of those little statues that heal you when you get hit

I'm gonna try and do Eden once a week or fortnight, just so I can get winged buffs from spirits.

Okay, hold on. Doing Eden gets you Ascended Candles. It is useful for winged light only if you have rescued a new spirit since the last time you did Eden. And you lose any winged lights you got from Red Shard memories.

the cheesey tricks i used to know are all patched, generally what i normally do is spam jump a ton for faster movement and know where the next safe spot is, heh

sky kids are pretty magnetic so you can jump in the right spots to climb stuff like slopes or hills, or very uneven terrain rather quickly
that last segment where that krill can get you as you go up the hill is probably the toughest spot in the game, as the krill can spot you in the middle of the rocks flying past you
usually i run straight through to the end and then come back out for the wing

Is there a new rebirth cutscene after Aviary quests are all finished?

(For some reason, when I go to an elder temple, I see a cutscene of the Eden gate glowing for that specific elder, and the door inside Eden has a ridge that gets filled with light. So this seems to be new…)

However, I don’t think I’ve done any Eden trips since the required visit during Aviary’s season quest.

It's not new per ce, but yeah, regardless of which home or group you have, the starfall cutscene now lands in aviary (it's really not that different, beyond the location)
The Eden door cutsene is related to the A/B testing, with group A getting the new cutscene, along with the single Eden switch.

They changed a lot about Eden after Performance ended (namely during my moth season, Shattering). Iirc they changed the layout of PNR, added more "emotional" poses to the statues, and added a crawling mechanic so you get knocked down and move slower

Been Playing at Eden Cave entrance (2nd to 3rd Stage ( 2nd stage after 1st stage and enter the starting stage 2 where the krill spawn near the entrance and the rock fall , 3rd stage is at the big pipe to the cave entrance ) multiple times this week and helped 3 moth 👍🏻 the path I took is not shortcut from clouds or fly high along the original walking path, but direct path with trick (props) and the safe spot song the path to cave entrance at the top , here is the video for safe path + props
