I would much rather get flattened by one of the errupted shards plummeting to the earth than go through eden again with this new damage feature, but I'll do it again when I can round up some friends and see if it's any less excruciating with companions (probably not I'm guessing, just group pain)

Also I imagine they thought very much about the new feature and how it would affect eden - I think they thought about it a lot in relation to the amount of people who feel eden is just another repetitive realm, another chore to complete for AC. The new feature certainly adds something to eden, but as for whether it's a good addition... whew

It seemed like a massive foresight in my opinion. It kind of feels they didn't think about how edan would be with this new damage system. And edan is pretty important in the game as the only place where you can get ascended candles in live.

I almost never talk here but. I feel like a big issue with the new eden changes is that the gap between risk and reward has just become so huge. Like, eden becomes more difficult, you get fewer AC, and THEN you have to go through all the realms and collect all your WL again

apparently when an extinguished skykid calls, a unique icon appears to other players to let them know another skykid is in danger. and you can still relight other skykids with your candle. the element of helping one another is still there, just in a different way

there is a new addition to that too,they put in new prompt/node whatever its called that allows you to see if another player need help BUT you can only recharge them with flame

I don't doubt it, I only got 4 AC from this trip and to be fair I'm still moth in beta I only went in with 109 WL but I got hit before reaching the eternal rocks and lost so much light from it, I either had the option to crawl back to the nearest lamp and recharge or just keep crawling forward but ultimately the same outcome would have occurred since you crawl that slow reaching the previous lit lamp would have been pointless

storywise I love the crawling, it adds so much more emotion and moves skykids away from “indestructible force of light that shrugs off krill attacks” and back towards being children. but mechanic-wise? ughhhhh it’s so incredibly frustrating. even just making it so that you have immunity for 30 seconds after you first fall so continuous damage doesn’t keep you crawling would be so much better

Why would they be calling the elder protection a “bug” if it seems intentionally designed as a feature? Bugs occur when things break, it’s an unforeseen defect appearing from the code in the build. Seems disingenuous to call it that given a shield animation wouldn’t just magically animate itself due to mistyped code, instead of actually calling it what it is—an experimental feature.

my most recent trip I only got 15 ac with 157 winged light. a large part in the live version’s current eden iteration is rng tho - I usually get the full 15.75 with ~140 wl only. I can live with that rng factor in how much I get knocked down, but I cannot suffer doing eden only to be paralysed as soon as I get hit by one puny rock

I think the first quest won't be confusing when we see the meditation appear after clearing the darkness. It's quite easy to find and it gives you a prompt to burn it when close, but whether we finished the quest or not is what's confusing with this no candles/no meditation bug

What is the intended order of each event?

1. Eden mountain erupts at HH:01 and HH:31 and realm turns red
2. Red shard shoot out the top and creates the event in two places (although there are 5 trails)
3. Burn all the dark plants in under 1:30-2:00?
4. The shard rocks shrink down to reveal a mediation circle
5. Meditate to start a creature quest ( not sure if it is a creature quest each time)
6. Collect all the light fragment in the time to complete the quest
7. Get an AC only if successful
8. Meditate to go to seasonal dark room
9. See a memory/ snapshot of the creature
10. Meditate to exit dark room and go home?

Is that right/ what we think should happen?

You need to do it at least twice to get the quest completed.
But today's shards are bugged, no meditation and light catching show up

As I understand it, Krill-B-Gone currently makes it so that krill won't strike at you, but they can still see you, and they can still hurt you (for example, if they strike at someone who's holding your hand). I'd like to see protection rolled in so that if they do strike nearby, you aren't hurt.

OK, just watched from the forest. Skies turned red at :30 on the dot. Crystals took about a minute and a half to show up. Red darkness plants show up in the general area a few seconds before a crystal strikes. But the crystals evaporated soon after, even though I hadn't finished cleansing the darkness. It was all over by about :33.

FYI, getting things that are obviously not possible (like enough season candles to buy ults) only makes accounts easier to identify and ban. I don't know any details about TGC's anti-hacking efforts, but if it were me, I'd laugh at hackers who expose their methods in beta to make it easier to combat the same methods. And again, the primary reason we don't want discussion of hacks ongoing here is to avoid giving exposure. Hackers do things like sell tempting-looking cheats that will only get gullible players banned, or worse, may contain malicious software

Well as I said yesturday after I went to eden. I started with roughly 113 wl. I got all of zone 1 and 2 from zone 2. I ended up with 9 candles. I think that the ratio has changed cause I would typically get 9-12 candles before and i use to get to the sand hill in zone 3 before I died.
Another person said they got 9 with like 150 wl and 3 from zone 2. So I expect the candles from the event to equate to at least 5 candles to make up for the 5 we loose from zone 2 and 3.

I'll have to review my video from last night, but it felt like the current damage we have in live. Mind you, that might be because of how much crawling I wound up doing, so was getting hit more frequently just because I couldn't get to a torch fast ^^;

Anyone else notice you dont lose as much light from a single hit. The regular crabs is about the same. But I just let myself get hit with a krill....I lost ONE wl that I was easily able to get back. (Even while crawling)

it makes sense because beta players get PUMMELED by the crabs which is very annoying and does not give determination

OK, so I didn't survive past PNR long enough to see the event. Shielding DOES offer some protection from the rock rain, but it breaks eventually. I wonder if a team of people with elder haircould all deep-call to keep their shields up. I think I may have noticed some more lightning and redness during the Ascent sequence (I happened to be at the right spot at the right time), but I can't be sure if this was part of the event or just a visual tweak they've made to the ending in general.
