Also pop in from time to time to the App Store and, if you're lucky, you might find an empty spot and you'll be able to download the beta app. That's how I got in.

The devs changed from old to new design based on several player feedback. Staff also stated that they didnt mean to follow or copy anyone's designs (referring to the very similar Nausicaa appearance for the old mask iirc). Based on this and the season coming close in live, it unlikely gets changed

You can't just friend someone and immediately trade hearts with anymore. If you used QR code it might take a while until you can trade hearts. I had no issues in live but in beta I wasn't able to trade hearts with some people for weeks. It's still confusing.

What's weirder is that I was able to trade with people I only spoke with once but not with people I met daily.

Yeah yeah sure capes should have a variety of types and designs, simple to complex, neutral to fabulous ,I agree to this but then it should be in the regular season spirits' cosmetic
An ultimate gift is what it's name for, ultimate , it should be more than what we get now. Anubis is a perfect example, it just a dog head mask but the design made it special so it makes u worth ur money.
For now the regular spirits' capes are better than the UG gift. I would rather swipe the fur cape of the captain as a UG in stead not gonne lie.

Ultimates are final items you get for buying the ap along with all the other ap locked item. Now ultimates could be simple or complex of they are good or not is a subjective term. At the end of the day Ultimates aren't the only things devs make to attract ap buyers they focus on a season as a whole
What people buy a ap for might be a different cosmetic and not a ultimate, maybe they just want to get everything and so on..

I have completed my map of the Abyss. Normally, I need 2 seasonal hearts to get the mask (Ultimate Gift - Snorkel) needed for diving. Even though all expressions on my map are completed, I only have 1 heart of the season and the 2nd heart was not given for the diving mask. I can't get my diving mask. I would be very happy if you could help, thank you.

Unfortunately there's nothing that you can really do, beta is like that sometimes and due to bugs or changes you might not always be able to get everything. There is (usually) no compensation for beta, so you just won't be able to get that item. If you want to have everything you can get the pass and play on the live version once the season starts

The increased breath time helped! It's much better than having about 10 seconds of oxygen and wasting energy to rush to the nearest plant/air bubbles. Definitely good to add on more breath time, helps for those who want to use the swimming mechanics in different areas to explore

I haven't really used the ult mask all that much, and I haven't really had much difficulty completing the quests from what I can remember. Between the extended breath timer and the added plants, I found the 4th quest a bit challenging but not impossible. I think the krills gave me more difficulty than running out of air, but that was kind of my own fault since I panicked when one spotted me and then got stuck

The real issue is not the krills to me, rather the awkward camera pan. It always zooms on my Skykid's back or glitches into the wall while hiding from krill and not being able to see where it is.

If I want to find the hidden elements of the map, it takes a little effort to manage my breath to explore every corner, but it is not unreasonable to complete the fourth quest. I think it's enough.

I rarely wear the ultimate mask, but feel it is long enough, as long as notice the path by the light plant. the fourth quest is a puzzle quest with only one solution, which is unusual for Sky these days, but I like it very much.

It was okay because the aquatic plants regained breathing.

I feel gratify with the increased of the breathing timer in contrast with the early development of the season. I for one didn’t find excessive troubles exploring the area or completing the quest with the previews breathing timer, yet this increment could reduce the aggravation for different players notably—furthermore, the contrast between the amount of oxygen the snorkel mask provides makes it feel unnecessary or not worthy compared to the unmasked breathing time which makes no sense for me.

Hi, I must say, I found the quests this season to be hard like nothing we’ve seen before, especially the 4th (the clue to start the quest was misleading too).

The issue I’m having right now is that I can’t explore to my heart’s content. Yes, the lack of air is the main reason, but there’s also the fact that trying to look around to get your bearings makes you move in the direction of the camera, thus wasting precious seconds of air supply. I find it frustrating and counterproductive.

Paired with shells that are slow to collect and force friends to detach handhold every time…. I admit I expected the same seamless experience that flying provides and I find it wanting.

I have second thoughts about igc mask. I don't think it's not the best idea to put it on the near the last quest ? like after the last quest, there's a possibility that the area will not visited as much without the quests . It applies to the ap ult mask as well,since its tedious to obtain. Like it should be a prior necessity to be obtained before any other items that are not really a utility for submerging. I know there are many benefactors that regen the oxygen meter. We can only obtain the igc mask after the last quest?for what reason? to just venture or two?it shouldn't be just that,they should be used during during the seasonal quests too. In conclusion,they should maybe at least postpone other items and put the igc and ult mask in the prior spot? not saying it should in the first spot,maybe in the middle or somewhere near because those masks are more than just cosmetics. I think of the ultimate gifts as less of a tool to "conquer the abyss" so to speak, and moreso something to use for extra exploration or as something to keep in store for future seasonal content. I don't think underwater exploration will stop with abyss, nor do I want it to. having the IGC mask as a permanent addition, like the assembly props, feels fitting

my personal opinion is useful ults aren't a problem as long as there's an alternative for it, there are a couple of cases
- laidback pioneer umbrella
- torch (for recharge speed) or festive table (for chatting + recharge function)

i also feel having a permament non-ult alternative in the quest tree is a step in the right direction if tgc wants to do this sort of thing. though it is true that there are alternatives for the umbrella and the bonfire, players will have to wait for those alternatives to be available. the other umbrella and the torch come from ts, so the time of their returns are unpredictable. the festive table on the other hand, only comes around once a year (and with no guarantee it'll return the next). ik there are bonfire spells and laidback pioneer, but those aren't permanent.

tldr; tgc should make permanent non-ult alternatives for useful ults and make them available through the seasons' respective quest trees so they're accessible anytime

Hello Samantha, I'm sorry if that ping is late. For the fourth quest, I think it's okay, though I got help with it by a friend. I don't know for sure as I did it before (and personally I think any quest that contains dark dragons is too much but if you don't look at that it felt okay when I did it. Certainly fits the season and the area). The breath time in general feels good, almost a little long for me. I almost don't notice my air going down. While having a longer time is nice, I feel like I don't need it and the water now feels a lot safer and a lot less like a challenge. Somehow, I liked that there was a challenge to it.

I hope I'm not too late with reply. Increased time is much better for me, I think it's enough for a quest, light plants that can restore oxygen help too. But quests are something you do once and don't return to them. I have personal issue with deep water and drowning so I still don't feel very safe to explore underwater much more. So in general I think it's enough for quests, possible to do without bigger problem but I would love an option to explore underwater without being worried about oxygen at all.

I would advise you to first get the spirits, check out their trees and see if the items you want are still AP locked or not. Then get the pass. You'll still receive the extra 30 candles with it.

my theory is that spirirts and players use the same collision mechanics, so that's why one affects the other, but i'm not sure why not separate them. perhaps to fix collision problems fire prophet had.

I believe they originally changed it not to prevent griefing with spirits but rather with players pushing others into the rain/dark water in geyser for instance. as well as placing the boat in the geyser and causing issues with being able to burn urchins and such. they downscaled the changes so you can actually place props near yourself and other players since using basically any prop was impossible. thus, there’s no change to player-player griefing after all while moving spirits will now be a forgotten art

They ordinarily shouldn't -- the problem is that they seem to momentarily have collision for non-friend players some reason, which is enough to push them around. That definitely doesn't seem intentional

The thing is... I've noticed in live if you're afk for a few minutes you get moved to empty servers. I chased a friend in 3 different servers while he was afk.
So the prop issue shouldn't be an issue anymore.

there should also be a no-boat zone at the return shrine including message boats, do you know how many prompts are on screen at a time there? like of course there's the two from the return function and now the questgiving function and you can also collect currency there under the right circumstances, but there's also ALWAYS at least a few message boats there which makes it a total pain to interact with the thing you want, especially with a controller

All message items should just be removed. They’ve served their purpose and only become hollow symbols used for heart farming.

Yes. With Days of Feast it happened to all afk friends inside the igloo. They would just split and move to an empty server.

if you’re staying in an area where lots of players idle, chill, or afk, etc. it is natural that the users you see are often idle or afk. you’re probably merged with tons of players passing through, but you don’t see them as easily since they nyoom by. perhaps they pass through so quickly they don’t even have the time to merge with you

Has that Eden shortcut been patched for good? I went to do Eden tonight and found that instead of that huge hole in the high clouds to fly through, there were only two small holes that were hard to find. One of them was directly above the cave entrance, so it was hard to steer.

It wasn't originally hard to find it was a huge hole in the clouds. Now there are only two small ones that are hard to find from outside.

@kindred fossil the hole that I am talking about is in the Eye of Eden stage. If you got up above the clouds, there was a super large hole that was like as tall and twice as wide as the arena before the temple in Valley. That is now shrunk down to a hole that is hard to find along with another one off to the side. Would you like to see two vids that I took?

I think the servers just merge people who stick around longer than those traversing through kinda like matchmaking. So afk people are there longer so you have a greater chance to merge w them.

I also disagree on best season. I'm glad you're so excited for it, as I love the quest visuals as well and that's what I'm excited for, but I still think we need more polish and an a update. I just think for a new mechanic being implemented meant (this time around) that the rest of the quest area and content had to suffer which is a shame. I'm floored we haven't gotten an update yet and really don't expect to get one at this point when there's only 5 days until the season releases (for me and my time zone at least CDT).

I've already thrown suggestions into feedback about how we need maybe just one more big update, but I don't think much will come out of it. Maybe after the season releases and the 5th quest concludes but I doubt it...

Definitely not a fan of the punishment of wing light lost underwater (Even after that all the time I’ve played the game it’s just a pain to retrieve or go to ||eden|| for no reason) definitely doesn’t give initiative to explore underwater especially outside season area- when all I gain is the risk of being obliterated by water

There isn’t much to gain from exploring underwater other than completing the quests so far- the current abyss season definitely feels like it’s still in it’s early stages with the new swimming mechanic- I’m really looking forward to seeing where TGC goes with it but it feels really primitive for now

(beta lurker here) I feel the TGC game devs didn't give themselves enough time to actually craft a fully-fleshed season, beta released for abyss back in late November and it releases on the 17th, so only about a month and a half to craft a new seasonal area, a new MECHANIC, and flesh out the season. I know that they felt rushed likely due to leaks and hacked content, but they need to give themselves more time especially for a season that implements an entirely new feature into the game- if a break between seasons has to be longer, that's alright, they just need to give themselves the right amount of season-making time

Tgc does work on the season for months what we see is a nearly finished thing. Art polish takes the most time i think. Maybe tgc wants this season to be like what it is now, which is different and good in it's own ways, every season doesn't have to be the same right. Every season has it's own message.
Ofc some parts could've been done better that doesn't mean the season as a whole is rushed or bad.

I feel like a lot of players are concerned that their feedback and bug reports are useless nearing season release due to nintendo’s update schedule. I don’t think this is the case at all. we usually see beta as ”this is exactly what the live version will look like when update drops”, but the dev version of the game has consistently been ahead of beta by a non-significant margin when new patches are released to live. relevant examples include the afk-timer, granny’s dinner being 5 minutes in beta and 10 in live, etc. bugs specific to mobile can be found and eliminated way after the patch is submitted to nintendo for review, and some things don’t even need a patch to be changed. the main concern is switch specific bugs, but that is something we players can’t do anything about before patch hits live anyway

When I mention polish I mean I feel like the cosmetics need more details and stuff added to them, the ult mask needs to either go back to how it was or be updated to something better, I also feel the buildings and above ground out of the ocean are lacking and need something more because the scenery isn't great. I know it's bc they want to push you to explore under water but it's just weird for it to look so bare and uninteresting imo. I love underwater visuals and think that's great, but the rest needs work imo.

I just wish tgc had more time. They push themselves into tiny windows to work, but I wish they could take their time with everything and really work to make this season better. We can have longer breaks between seasons, but I think they'd think we'd get upset.

my personal opinion is that it just feels... lacking?

• above the water, it feels empty. all the views are underwater. which wouldn't be much of an issue if underwater exploration was easier. the oxygen meter makes it more difficult to do so. also bring back the bigger boat pls.
• the like and dislike on cosmetics is entirely subjective, so no strong opinions on that. I think they're for the most part just 'good' and doesn't have that wow-factor but ofc, it depends on each player's taste. i do dislike the miscolouration of the ult. braid and the changes to the respirator mask though. the miscolouration is probably just a bug or needs some adjustments, but the respirator changes were intentional, and we won't know for sure if it's staying that way until the season comes to live.
• the quests felt more like tasks than a little minigame of sorts. they're all pretty much the same but in different parts of the crystal bay.

that's what i've got from the top of my head, ofc this is just my opinoon, not facts, and you're allowed to disagree. i mean nothing bad towards tgc either, i just feel like they could've done more with the season based off of their past work
