some areas yes. if you look at fire trial for instance but some are still extremely bright to the point of being blinding - looking at u orbit/eden. sanc water reflection is also too bright imo. as is general lighting when recharging from butterflies in areas of forest

Hello, just wanted to say thanks to all of you who helped me with switching from Apple to Android, it worked.
Not sure if it's a bug, got a message saying my phone was too weak but I pressed accept and then it ran Sky, should I report? That message sounded like, sorry, your phone is unable to run Sky, it said my phone doesn't fulfil the minimum requirements (Got Sky from official Google Play store, so that shouldn't be the cause of it).

With light creatures being used for industrial stuff, us being born after civilization is gone and being a light creature ourselves, then freeing the creatures… except we get to see nature healing and flourishing. Passes can be purchased only after a Season begins. Their prices remain the same.
The former preorder bonus will now be applied to all Passes, and we’ve expanded this to include Passes a player receives as a gift. This means that all purchased and gifted Adventure Passes will come with a total of 30 Seasonal Candles.
For the next Season that begins in early 2022, there will not be an in-game countdown for the start of the Season since that function was connected to the preorder feature. For Android, you're in beta until you manually "leave program." For iOS, as long as you're somewhat active in beta, you won't get kicked. We don't know what constitutes as "active," but usually just logging in once in awhile should count.

the new mechanics for the new seasons suck so much
why are tgc trying to be realistic with new mechanics and trying so hard to introduce more into the game when it was perfectly fine before.
with the new diving feature it isn't even fun to explore new areas because the only thing u concentrate on is the breathing meter.
honestly tgc is ignoring it's fanbase when we complain about the breathing feature and the things you all change.
the boat before was cool unless you are able to upgrade it via the quests
and if tgc didn't try so hard to make the game realistic it would be a lot better
maybe I'm complaining to complain but it's a serious issue
the environment for next season is gorgeous and I want to explore without dying so quickly. :(

think it as hidden forest, but underwater
there is plenty of spots to refill your breath just like recharging spots in hidden forest
it encourages you to limit your movement so you can actually explore and find new things for a longer period of time rather than getting bored of it in a day and forgetting about it all

A good way to encourage limiting your movement would be to have the breath meter drain slower when stationary.

Another i see the new season is it's a new whole way to play, a way to see it is the more you practice with the dive ability, the more comfortable you are, the same way people acted when encountering krills and eden for the first time then the more they played, they got more skilled at it. Even as a beta tester, the new season quests scared me but once i repeated the 4th quest, i got more confident so ye

Not saying that solo seasons are bad or anything but it is nice to see the devs find new gameplay mechanics each season. Imagine if a future season added like drivable mantas? Manta racing /j

I dislike how fast the breathing meter goes down and personally thinks it takes away from the environment because you do hone in on the breathing meter more than look around (at least I do), but I love the idea of implementing new mechanics otherwise the game night get stale. As for moving and navigation while diving, it's a little rough, but I feel like it could still improve. There is no rule to the devs coming back to polish it if they release it to live and it gets loads of feedback.

Even with experience I think controls are wonky. I've been playing the diving controls since day one of abyss beta was released and still find them difficult to navigate. I hope they improve in the future.

Thinking about the area now, not having been there for a while, I don't even feel a particular urge to go back and explore beyond the stuff I felt obliged to do as a tester (spirits, quests). The area has no appeal to me whatsoever. It's uneventful on the surface and too dangerous to explore under water for too long. It also reminds me too much of Journey, which is not what I'm looking for in Sky.

Hot take, but I'm actually in the opposite boat for treasure reef. I love the lack of plants, it makes a very nice challenge as opposed to golden wasteland that were accustomed to, and eden which we only visit for more ascended candles. I'd love to keep visiting the location due to such a unique and new gameplay mechanic being added. True, it does prevent a bit more exploration, but there isn't much to explore outside the intended quests anyway, such as the rooms behind the buildings and arches deep underwater. Like they're simply facades. Sure it's scary, but that's what makes it exciting. It's what makes it memorable, especially in relation to the tranquil reef near the surface

It is really the parents' responsibility if they allow a child to play an online multiplayer game, but I would advise to tell this supposed child to not give away any such information in the future. None of us need to know anyone else's age, name or location to be able to play together. As for why they are in beta, who knows? Maybe they lied about their age, or they just didn't understand what they were downloading?

And since beta has no contract or nda tied to it, there is no real regulation on what age a tester can be. I know that there are a lot of underage players in beta of varying ages. Although if they happened to get in beta through the discord, discord has a rule where all users must be 13+

The age restrictions can be hard to monitor 100% though unless they wanted to require people to verify their identity every time they log on, with proof of an ID or something. There isn't anything really stopping a kid from downloading apps on their devices if their parents haven't set up child restrictions or something

Just depends on what your priorities are. If you need to "find the motivation" then chances are you shouldn't buy it yet. I hope you get excited about it if there's future updates.

There are two stages of the afk timer, first one you start to send up z and sit down (unless holding a hand or so) and second stops you from getting wax, makes you send z at a higher frequency and makes lou lie (is that how you spell it? I always forget, sorry) down.
I entered stage 2 in beta earlier today (though didn't check at a wax spot for whether I collect wax).

When I am with my friend I'm most likely to be with (X), there are two spots where the servers split us and no matter what, we can't be on the same server. The constellation at Home says that X can join us, but they always get put on a different server. Those places are the bird's nest in Prairie, and the new islands for the Abyss season. Tonight I tried doing this along with two other friends as well. Those two friends stayed with me, but X still split.

When we took the boat together, we would arrive in different servers. This friend is really scared of the deep water and needed my help to finish a quest, too, so that was a major bummer

It's not a problem that people have the Abyss ults you get with the pass, so no need to report anyone wearing those. Definitely report anyone wearing the mask at the top of the quest tree, though, as no one should be able to get that until the fifth quest is released

During beta testing for the switch, the switch pack was available for all testers. Bonfire means playing for long or using a spell, I'd say. As far as I know, Bonfire was available without doing forbidden things.

This gift must be done in person. Its at the piggyback/carry node, so much higher than last year. There are also free paper boat and firework spells in the box on the non-existent dock at home.

It's true however it should be noted that the rocks thrown are not only because of the constellation, but because of the 'whole package' how new things come to live in a severely bugged (or - if communicated as intentional - very inconvenient) way. Considerably less people asked for a full rework than just more friends capacity and even more people wish for fixing long time bugs that all players meet everyday. Seeing the whole picture people's early judgements and concerns are more than understandable.

as for the anniversary hats they are more so a celebratory gift (they cost little) celebrating the milestone of another year to the game's lifespan refering to the "you only turn 1 once" compared to something more of a cosmetic product with similar theming that celebrates a celebration (which isn't just about the zodiac) that happens every year for eternity until civilization on earth collapses or something akin to the end of the world

Me as well. I think it will minimize the clutter we currently have in the live game. What i mean by "clutter", the alleviation of having to constantly refresh the game and scroll through the constellation for friends we've not been able to locate via the friendship menu.

It works like the normal candle gift, just fot 14 candles and it gives 5 hearts. Also it's higher in the tree than normal ones, and seems to be for Days of Fortune (as it got reactivated yesterday and was confirmed the heart gift should have been there when Days of Fortune was there first time). Similar to the one we got last Days of Fortune/Love.

But as Tib said, anything might change, best to wait for official confirmation.

Last year for Days of Fortune there was this info: For the duration of the event, players who unlocked the double-five expression with a friend were able to give them a gift of 5 hearts once per day by meeting them in-game and spending 14 candles.

This different friend constellation is better, but I still don't like it. For me, on my phone and iPad, I have trouble seeing if a friend needs to be lit or not. The difference isn't big enough, especially on my phone. Couldn't they make the icons a little larger than those dots?

It was said art wasn't final yet, and I'm certain that it's possible they make the icons bigger (whether TGC will do it or not is up to them, they have many things to consider I assume). It would be best to leave feedback about having difficulties with seeing who is lit, if you haven't done yet, as the devs won't necessarily see your post in this channel.

i have issues telling what each dot means, but that's mostly because of just how minimalistic the constellation is. i think it definitely needs some more work to make it clear what each node means

Personally, I don't have many difficulties with it, worst for me is that the endless swiping from one page to the next feels bad still. But I have so little friends, and even less who light me or who collect my light, that even if I'm unsure,it's not a great deal to open all the nodes manually and check. Design-wise I don't like it that much, it feels somehow unfinished and also unfitting, but that's personal preferences.

i have more friends than even this new constellation can hold in beta, and it's quite tedious to try and find anyone, and then i have to figure out if i lit them or not. but at least the online tab lets me filter out who i can join. i'm just not a fan of overly minimalistic designs. it doesn't quite fit with the rest of the game's ui

I really enjoyed having the old constellation back with just more people showing. I gave more light and got more. Now it’s back to ghost town. It too tedious to try to decipher if they lit or not and if there are people I missed

I don't like that yet with the constellation customization we got another limitation by animal and other theme constellations. I liked the amorphous arrangement of friends way more.

It is great getting to chat with other beta testers here. I have to admit; beta is very sad for me now. Out of all of those friends that I made in 2019, only like three of them still do beta. Even the newer friends are mostly inactive now.

I've made most of my new and active candle friends at granny. it's really funny when you visit geyser, and then see the exact same group at granny's later. even across several days. beta is more easy to make connections in that sense

On the other side of friends; in the most recent recruitment drives, a ton of trolls and also players who have no idea of what beta testing is have gotten in. The trolls are those that friend and unlock chat, and then demand hearts and block you if you don't. Is there any way to get those kind of players out? I feel bad about reporting them.

Facebook has caused a lot of problems as well. The like count to get heart from boat comments went up to 50 instead of 10 because of those groups of friends that would organise heart farming. I like to be honest and friend meaningful people, so ever since live released I have gotten only two hearts, and those were in 2019. That is why I don't bother to do those boats any more.

Was third the one with the manta cages or were manta cages second one? If so, there's a rectangular hole in the ground near the huge tower. Dive down starting at full air (and don't be scared there are bubbles down) and along the hallway and down again. To the side you'll see the blue symbol. Follow it, you'll find a room with caged mantas. The stones are there.

Personally, I don't care what the rebreather looks like bc I will not be wearing it there are too many cool cosmetics, plus you have enough oxygen without ever needing to wear it. That being said, I think the new design definitely makes more sense!
