If you're on Android 8.0, it's a known issue and TGC is looking into it. If you haven't yet, I would highly suggest filling out a bug report so they know your device model is also affected.

It's like before I hit send. On the default iOS keyboard you can type the name of an Emoji and it suggests them in the suggested words. I don't get the suggestions at all.

Afaik, your friends can join on your Eden run as if it's a normal Eden run for them, but they might not see any 7th Seasonal Quest cutscenes that you will see.

“Light awaits” and “children of the light” means little when talking about Beta. It was just a name change sometime during development (that can more easily be seen by comparing the softlaunch app and the global app). Sky Beta was always called just Sky Beta

With that said, gratitude ran twice in Beta- one before the progress wipe and then shortly after with some improvements

The recharge quest only worked for me when I completely ran out of light (still lit, but at 0 flaps) burning a plant and then was recharged by another player. Partial charges didn’t seem to do anything. Try that.. good luck!

Perhaps so, but I could see it causing undue confusion and stress to a newer player who's trying to do the quests but is absolutely unable to on their own. It seems unfair to send them out looking for spirits that only other players can see.

i think the grey out emote is available in some locations only( probably to hint you to get it in that area).. dunno but other times it is not showing in your emote (unllike live)

Hi everyone, I'm new to Beta, I joined during the last invite. I met a Chinese player yesterday who used a translator to chat with me. She has been playing Beta for 3 days. I asked how she reports bugs as she doesn't have Discord and doesn't speak English and she told me she won't be reporting, she also told me I am the first 'foreign' player she has met. I asked how she got the Beta invite and she said it was freely available for her on the App Store. I have met a lot of Chinese players and this maybe explains why one player I met didn't know how to play Sky. I guess I'm a bit confused as I was under the impression Beta was invite only.

Technically beta is invite only, however you can download it sometimes from google play store without an invite if someone who’s already in beta leaves the program. That’s the only legal way to get into beta without an invite. There are some players who didn’t get the game from the right source or didn’t know what they signed up for and they don’t know this is the test version. If they are the latter, I usually redirect them the global/netease game because their progress is safe there and not in beta.

I think it's important to make two distinctions: 1) someone speaking Chinese doesn't automatically mean they are from mainland China and 2) if you feel that someone is doing something inappropriate to beta, you can always report them in game.

The first few days I played in beta (during the final days of Assembly) I met a lot of Chinese players who are apparently from mainland China. I was suspicious about how they got in, and one even used a hack to adjust their winged light count before my eyes. They talked about getting seasonal candles without having to do candle runs or quests too. I reported the one who obviously hacked and I didn't see them online anymore after a couple of days.

fyi, there are probably tens of legit android "app stores" in China that are distributing the legit Chinese version of Sky, and this beta version of Sky as well. Some might learn about beta in this way. It doesn't mean they're playing beta with malicious intent if they don't know about discord. This is more about the very different phone app market in China that tgc/we have no control of. Ofc, report them if you see any malicious behavior, then move on. There's no need to discuss them here.

Out of curiosity dear. Because they have their own version of Sky and the fact that they are everywhere in the game and it's so hard to talk to them. Lucky me, because most of my friends know how to use the in-game translator. But it is just tiring when they keep talking to you and you have to keep pressing the translator every time they say something 😆. Anyhow, they are nice though.

For my experience, yes, I think so. You can't accidentally tap on any conversation or friend's friendship tree nearby while playing a key in an instrument.

However, I haven't really used any of my instruments on Live so I wouldn't know if what was bugged, to begin with. I've only heard statements from friends that it was buggy on Live.

Beta is global and people in China can join just like people in any country can. There is no reason to focus on the nationality of players here, to generalize about "most" of anyone for any reason.

If you have problems with how the translator works, I recommend generalizing your own statements to address how you might communicate with anyone regardless of language.

In the meantime, if you want to play Beta but are waiting on the update, remember they there are always other little random bugs to be found. For me, I've been having fun breaking the laws of physics by trying to use emotes to crawl inside various types of lanterns, with hilarious results.

For newer beta players who don't know what to do, here are some suggestions:

• Check if all your calls and stances are working correctly, because some of them are glitching out for some people
• Make sure you've gone to go get the prophecy handstand emote, because that one is useful for finding glitches
• Go look for visual aberrations in Valley and Wasteland
• Go try and place boats in as many weird areas as you can
• Work on getting your chibi mask
• On that note, try to get some resize potions and resize into a tall skykid, that way you can test things both as a chibi and as a tol kid.
• Watch cutscenes, because sometimes even old cutscenes become bugged
• try to crawl inside the vault lanterns, it's really funny
• Go do Eden, Eden always has bugs

Probably not, no. At least, it's certainly not in the works right now.

The difference between normal spirits and Seasonal spirits seems to be TGC's way of making sure that they can release new content without damaging a new player's experience of Sky. So it's kind of sad that we won't be getting new constellations any time soon, but the Season system makes the game easier overall.

Back read a bit. I just have one comment on the earlier conversation. Let's all enjoy the fact that a video posted yesterday had beta players singing happy birthday in over 9 different languages for another beta player.

This game has found a way to bring together players from all over the world and started friendships that couldn't have started in any other way.

Also, for newer beta players: you really want to get the chibi mask and the chair. Like, pronto. Those are your top priorities because those items are really useful for exploiting glitches. So if you don't have those ones yet, use this downtime to go get them.

(And certain emotes are helpful, too. Prophecy handstand and Valley handstand are useful, plus any emote that causes motion or causes your skykid to wind up standing in a different spot—even if it's only a few inches—is useful too. So if you've been more focused on testing new content, now's a great time to get your toolbox together!

I easily unlocked Chibi Mask on my 1st day in Beta. Dedicated atleast 2-4hrs (maybe even more 👀) of gameplay which includes easy seasonal quests, easy to relive base-game spirits, purchasing available IAP's and lastly Eden run.

Tho, I'm still debating whether I should get Table when I already have the Beach Stool from Summer Guide.

I think the realms are going to stay as is because there's a story behind them. they're the stages of life: isle = birth/infancy (you are born into the world and start learning about it) / prairie = childhood (bright and happy and playful) / forest = teenage years (I think the rain being for the edginess ) / valley = young adult (full of hope and adventure for the world) / wasteland = older adult midlife crisis / vault = elderly and at peace again / eden = death and rebirth

On your post in #beta-screenshots-videos (don't want to clutter it with more text), Oreo (Android 8.0) is 4 years old, but in reality, if other manufacturers were more like Apple or Google, it would be 7-8 year old devices still on Oreo. (Google supports full OS updates for 3 years and in some cases security updates for 4-5 depending on the phone. Edit: newest Google phone with Oreo as it's last update is a Nexus 5X, a 6 year old phone) If you have a 4 year old phone still on Oreo, I would highly suggest getting a different device from a different manufacturer. They obviously don't care about user security.

For anyone waiting on the next update: I'm as excited as y'all to see if we get anything interesting next update, but I will say that there are enough glitches out there in Beta right now to where I've memorized the build number from filling out bug reports. I've filled out 6 beta bug reports in the last hour and I'm not even done filling out all my bug reports yet.

We might not have an update yet, but that doesn't mean there are no bugs to find.

I can. There is a slight chance i crash after pnr usually when we go in a group and the texture flickering is an issue too but other than that its not impossible for me.

I mostly just found a weird crevice that causes my Skykid to glitch when I went to Eden and did emotes while standing in it. Also, I found a waterfall in an area of Eden that I hadn't been to before because my bug-testing goal was to try and find the dumbest place to put a boat in Eden, and I found out that if you walk towards this waterfall it sends you back to the beginning of the level like you walked out of the bounds of the level. But the waterfall thing is probably intentional because it's kind of not in an area where you're supposed to be going in order to advance Eden.

That was a really old message to reply to, but yes, you can change from Android to iOS and vice versa. However, for iOS you need a specific invite to access beta, because it goes through Testflight. Android is publicly available on Playstore.

Android and iOS use different app containers for a simplistic approach. iOS cannot use the play store.(and Android can't use the iOS app store) Invites are platform specific. If you want to change platforms, you need to wait for a new invite wave. You can access your account after you grab the invite for the new platform. It's suggested to remove yourself from the old platform after you get the invite on the new platform to not take up two seats.

I think Ktjn explained earlier that they can't push as many updates as they used to before, now that Switch has been introduced. The process to get an update accepted on console is different and slower, so if an update is only pushed to mobile gamers, crossplay will break.

We should probably expect fewer but bigger updates each time, at least for Live.

The umbrella was never in the spirit's tree. That was a scrapped item they forgot to remove from the tree. As #beta-faq states, no compensation would be given for lost currency due to bugs, changes, etc.

I think there used to be a different code of conduct before, where beta players were slightly better at keeping new things a secret. But with YT popularity comes a desire to always be first with the latest.
And like ante_luce says, being "spoiled" isn't necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes it keeps you coming back also. 🙂

Where there is a well and a camp fire in the starry desert, and the wall prince sit on and walk into the Eden. Those places look so beautiful, it would be awesome if we can visit the area again!
