Another thing to think about: So far we seen three IAP Packs, totaling $50 USD. However, there is the princely green star cape which says it is in the iap store, but not listed... yet.

So, guesses on how much the green prince star cape will cost? An extra $10? $20?

Just want to tell my opinion.
It's the business math! This season is more special than others, it's collaboration, so TGC have to pay more money to build this season.
So this turn to the problem that the price for cosmestics will be more expensive, such as:

1. 10$ pass, and 3 IAPs 50$ (total 60$)
   => the pass’s price is the same, and you have more options to decide buy more cosmestics or not, you can decide to buy what you like. And see, what’s goin on?

2. about 40$ pass, may be more, no IAP
   => much more higher price than normal pass, but include every cosmestics. No options for you, you have to buy it all through the pass. So I guess if this happens, people still blame TGC because the price is so high and compare with 10$, a lots of people can’t afford to pay.

3. about 20$ pass (have more cosmestics), still have IAP 30$ (just only a sword pants and fox backpack maybe?)
   => so the pass’s price is higher, reduce amount of IAPs. But not sure that people still blame or not? Also not sure that people can afford to pay 20$ for a pass or not, if go this way, could you guys understand for TGC?

Hmm I just saw the price preview for next season. Honestly, with how famous the story of the Little Prince is, I’m very not surprised at IAP being added. In reality this is much much cheaper than all the games that I’ve played or still playing haha. Some exclusive items are expensive because this is a game but also a business and TGC needs money to operates. Cosmetics are optional. It’s not like you must pay $60 for one season pass or one big pack :) People can choose to buy what they can, nor not buy anything if they can’t. There are still free items. This price point is similar to some packs they are offering so I don’t see it’s being crazy like all of sudden go from $20 to $100. Remember a cape to get into ||office|| is $30 alone.

someone made a really interesting point and it was from someone from this very thread that made this point regarding this whole issue…I’m just gonna quote them verbatim..
“On Tuesday or days after - TGC would come with “Trademark” explanation. As every character is a trademark, so you have to pay for it every time an individual uses it.
I just went through an article and it says the story is in public domain but characters including fox falls under trademark.
And when it comes to trademark, the owner can charge each individual for its usage. Its like buying a product yourself.
TGCs only fault here is that they didn’t reach a good deal in lowering down the cost of trademarks per unit sale. Or TGC could’ve bear at least 60% of the cost themselves.”

This is a very interesting point…i do not wanna name the individual in case he or she receives any heat in case this analysis is wrong. But Bottom line is, if this is the real scenario then TGC is contractually obligated to make such payments and therefore to make margin profit on top of this, they’d have to compensate by producing IAP with that pricing. As much as i’d like for it to be part of AP or reduce pricing, if there is contractual obligations….there is a slim chances of the IAP to merge with AP unfortunately. This is probably the most probable scenario that i see could be happening in the near future.

I recognize some things that I have read. But as someone who hasn’t finished the book. I personally don’t mind not knowing the “backstory” of everything. I had a lot of fun playing a bit in the new area yesterday and it wasn’t boring in the slightest. I do think for future moths or people that haven’t seen the announcement about it being the season of the little prince might be more confusing. I currently have the context of knowing it’s the little prince season, but in the future people don’t really know that until they search it up. It’s just kinda beautiful desert season.

That's also the case with the actual story, this little man appears out of nowhere and the protag in the story starts to hear about how he thinks the adults are weird and how he's a prince and he loves a rose and so on so forth. You're supposed to be confused but also curious, bewildered about him and his childlike mindset. You as the player should be curious about the little man and learn more about him, hopefully the story quests will do the main story justice when we can access them.

It's a new thing for Sky to do a season that isn't entirely their own creation. Only time will tell how well that worked, both for the game (lore etc.) and with their players. I think it's important that TGC try new things, because it's a learning experience for them also. For me personally this season isn't very attractive, but I can see that it is well made in many details.

I know controversy/debate among sky players occurs everytime a new things are updated in Beta, but this situation is more than "normal" sitatuation. Ideally, we would like TGC to come up with some kind of polish explanation or excuse for their new decisions, but we barely got any good answers. Things have been stacked up and led people to become outraged eventually. I wouldn't really blame the people who show complaints here.

IAP items and events has always caused such controversy within this discussion. Since I remember (almost a year ago). However I do remember the drastic changes tgc started to implement due to these complaints. Such as events with candles and heart systems (such as the coming rainbow event which did not have non IAP items last year). This season is special and although the IAP is causing controversy. We don’t know the licensing and trademarks that may require these items to be IAP and not an actual season cosmetic too

I think what bothers me the most is that this is a season not an event. The IAP is literally the whole core of the season, yet not include in the season AP. it kind of feels like it's additional which apparently base on the items is not.

We have a lot of time to sit and think about what questions to ask to the devs and get better answers than people just continuously going at it. So much so, we now have our reactions turned off. As Ktjn stated, our doing just daily runs on beta help see how the game responds so when they’re back from vacation, not only can they tackle our personal problems, but also do a big overhaul and work on the new patch. Our feedback is at least valuable to them for the three day weekend to know what’s going on, what bugs there are, and give feedback on how we feel about the current IAP. It’s frustrating, I know, but I’ve always been told patience is key.

Yes but temporarily. When you try to buy an item, it deducts the twice amount of the price. And after you buy the item and close the menu, you will see the half amount added back to your candle bar. So if you have low numbered candles, you may see a negative balance until you close the menu. But as I said it’s only temporary

uh no, I didn't, and it's pretty rude of you to say that. I'm fairly familiar with european copyright law because of my work. the heirs of the author can have trademarks and companies can buy some rights that kind of extend the copyright (overly simplifying here, not gonna go into detail on how copyright, trademarks and royalties go lol), so that's probably what's at play here, especially since they released a film years ago and tgc seems to be using that particular design.

Well - ignoring the IAPs, I think the seasonal area is one of the best seasonal areas to exist in-game. The view of Eden, the night sky, it's just all perfect, however I still think northern lights should be there. I enjoyed reliving the spirits, but I'd prefer them to have more cosmetics (thankfully it's just the first patch, I'm expecting them to add more pants) considering it's a collab season. The Drunkard emote made me laugh really hard due to the music, and my favorite pants belong to Vain Man right now.

i definitely think that one of the IAP outfits and the scarf cape should be made part of the AP ultimate gifts, it just doesn't make sense to give us the hair and not anything else (like, AP purchasers are paying customers of TGC, it's not like we're demanding that they make all cosmetics free). I'm fine with the other outfit and the fox staying as IAP items if TGC is working with such limitations because of trademarks. anyway, other than the IAP issues, I actually really love everything else in this season! I've seen some comments that weren't very positive about the cosmetics being so dark, but I personally really like them. I think that they fit the "grownups" and are a very good contrast to the colourful and lively prince. besides, we already have a lot of colourful cosmetics, so I don't mind having a season with darker ones! I did see some speculation too about them being like this because it's still early days, so they may not be finished. either way, I really like them. the hairstyles are also so good!!

What if the outfits are offered as ultimate gifts during the season and move to iap after the season concluded, to be available all year long? Only for these particular outfits, as they are the product of a collaboration between tgc and a third party (Pomase)? These outfits come across as digital merchandise sold in tgc shop instead of Pomase webshop. I would like to emphasise that this suggestion is for special collaborations like tgc-Pomase when intellectual property of a third party is offered as cosmetic in Sky. This suggestion is not for the normal Sky-themed seasons and UGs.

I think it goes back to the point that someone was making earlier that we don’t get clear communication from tgc when they release new content in beta. In this case, why iap instead of UG and how long the iap will be available? I was going along the breadcrumbs they left, that this is a collab with Pomase, I searched for Pomase and found an online shop selling LP themed merchandise, so that gave me the thought that perhaps these outfits are meant as digital merchandise (instead of printing a t-shirt with a picture on it, tgc created a digital world and costumes). Even so, they should be included in the season pass because the season is themed after the LP. What they do with it after the season that’s unclear (^^ lack of communication), but perhaps have these LP-exclusive items offered as iap after the season concluded.

i think there is a very real discussion to be had about the general culture right now regarding iap in games. Genshin, overwatch, fornite, and sky (to name a few) all have the cosmetic systems that feed into addictive spending habits

i just wanted to point out that the season said 48 days yesterday, and the IAP said 48 days remaining before i bought it, so its available for the whole season if we go off of that.
