Nintendo's third party developers have a huge presence on the Switch platform.

TGC has a huge opportunity releasing on the Switch, because they have nintendo basically promoting their game. Hence the exclusivity, but it really could lead to some growth for TGC too.

More players means more income, and if they continue to be the company I have experienced thus far, potential for lower prices.

Imo, the one who should demand for Android packs for us, is not TGC, but Android. In this case the exclusive packs are demanded by Nintendo because they care about their players, but Android is a open platform and they might earn nothing from us Android users. If it was nvr TGC idea to come out with any device exclusive item, we shud stop pushing them to do it for Android players.

not all android devices has the update right now, the ones who have it are included in the "20% rollout".

depending on whether it's a google issue or something our engineers can fix will determine how soon this is resolved. Keep in mind it's 1am for us TGC folks. They will look into it in the morning.

Surely TGC's legal team handles this carefully, however, those are the behind the scenes peeps and for my opinion, compromises had to be made especially if it's a collaboration and more importantly Nintendo is a big company, and agreements had to made even tho it's "kind of" unfair to its players so they can build good relationship to the big guns.

This is again only my opinion, "sometimes small businesses have to suck up to the big guns in order to build good and long lasting business relationship."

iOS doesnt exactly have any exclusives... plus it was originally developed on and for iOS, so them having the early TGC cape is understandable. (which android players also have access to via the founders cape.)
Ult gifts are going to be brought back in due time which will level it out with everyone else? :o what else is exclusive to iOS? headphones dont count because devs have mentioned that its not easy bringing that to android when the way they handle audio is different.

It's not a TGC problem. It's Nintendo pulling the strings here. Even with Minecraft, switch players have exclusive skins and map (and you can't join your switch friend on that map if you're on console, phone or PC). That's just how Nintendo works, nothing we can do about it. If switch exclusive items are not a thing, the game doesn't release on Switch it's as simple as that.

You know, it's entirely possible for the playground to have events and whatnot, with an npc guiding those without the capes into the area, much like office events. There are quite a few ways for mobile players to get in the area, so its not like we'll never be able to go in

We shud stop asking for exclusive packs from TGC since the reason why Switch players have any option to get exclusive items is due to Nintendo's collab requirement. It was nvr a TGC decision to begin with, if they have a choice, i don think they would want the Mario tunnels and Zelda ears to steal attention away from their own characters: the Skykids. Its probably a trade they have to make to venture into Switch platform.

The switch pack will be exclusive on the switch. So if you get sky on the switch, you'll be able to buy it, even with your account you play on other devices. This also means, with the new items, you can then use them on the other platforms after buying them.

As far as I understand the new process, when there is an invite wave you will be able to update Sky beta via the Testflight app. Invite waves will come when inactive players are removed, or whenever TGC needs more testers.

In my experience, when using the controller, I can't do sharp turns or sharp dives. And some of the buttons didn't have functions, so I still had to interact with my screen if I wanted to use an emote or click on some interactive buttons.

Well, @spice mason had a wonderful suggestion that we all agreed with, but we seem to have a bit of trouble with the idea of Nintendo switch exclusive packs and the new area, and they suggested that reworking the pack to function much like the TGC Cape and the secret area, where the switch exclusive cape is available to Nintendo owners for free or priced, and within the secret area is the ability to purchase the other two cosmetics. It might work better for those who would like the items as well

I think the rainbow cape should just be less than 100 candles. Almost 200? Isn't that overpriced? Plus, it would take unhealthy amounts of grinding just to get it. Like what Aiden said, past event capes were less than 100 candles, most expensive being the feast table. You have to understand that that is 245 candles total for everything on top of TS which the most expensive TS so far has been 195 Candles. AND friend constellations, normal constellations, and anything else you might need. It’s just way too much especially for new players.

The price of the rainbow cape is excessive I think. The total for the rainbow constellation far exceeds the total of the most expensive TS. Even if it is a cape of an event it is a cape that should be accessible to as many people as possible. To justify this price, the cape would have a constant rainbow trail.

Yeah, I get wanting to have more things for people to spend their candles on for older players who have finished the constellations, but it doesn't make sense to me that the Daily Light system was implemented and TGC staff have made posts before about how they don't want to encourage unhealthy grinding behavior, yet they release new limited time items with high price points that mean players will have to grind in advance to be prepared for such events (since there likely won't be enough time during the event to get enough if you start with not much candles). And I know that these events are seasonal and will come back eventually, but if you miss something you'll have to wait a whole year to be able to get it again, and some players may not even still be playing then.

i think it’s important to note that the cape also has a new design and unique stars which other capes of similar nature had (like days of fortune, the earth day capes, etc) and were iap, unlike this one, so i agree with keeping the price of it high, but it’s a little bit extreme

The pack exclusivity bothers me a little too in this current form at least. For some reason i really don’t like the idea of sky having crossovers with other games. I dont think there is a common truth in this, it’s really depends on someone’s personal preferences.
I know that I’m not a gamer type i got bored after 1-2 week of playing most of the games i tried. When something keeps me in for longer than that, like sky did it’s because of it’s uniqueness in more than one aspect. I just don’t like to see these kind of games infused with others which has nothing to do with it. if that makes sense. I understand the references and while they remain as easter eggs not real features, they are fun (for me too), but when they are more than that that’s not my thing. I can totally accept tho that others love it, we are not the same

Trail spells are a really cool idea for those who want to keep wearing a different cape but have colors, but like I said, the cape itself should be a rainbow stream trail to add to the special value of the cape, maybe.
This whole trail concept is awesome in general because it gives off the vibe that maybe someday, we'll have many different types of trails, not just colored. (Imagine sparkle trails!)

This is a tough thing to manage, tbh. When Sky was first released, that's all it was - a first release. We want to continue building Sky over the years and making it new and cool, while still retaining all the things that drew players to it in the first place. It's low-key a major challenge for a live service game.

I started in around september, though I quit mid-rhythym and came back during dreams (burnout) and I have to agree. The new daily light system and all the newer features have definitely made playing the game easier to stomach and I don't think I'll get burnt out again anytime soon.

I'm honestly very excited about the changes, I mean The Little Prince? It has a very similar feel to Sky and especially the vault, I think it's very fitting! Almost a perfect match.
As for the Link hair and Ocarina, they're Easter Eggs and it happens in most games,they have no effect on the actual lore, it's just cosmetics, so I don't see why not include them, I love them
