The editing being affected by slowmode is only a mobile thing so far, if I want to edit something I need to go on my computer and do it, or suffer
Also cancelling editing on mobile and typing like normal has the chance of replacing your entire what-you-were-supposed-to-edit message with the new message message you typed

I'd like to take a moment just to say that being a beta tester for Season of Prophecy was a wild ride, and I enjoyed being a part of the testing process. We got to experience so many new features with their own unique challenges, and it was really cool to see how the trials progressed from their first version to the final version in live.

I'm probably not going to participate in the next invite wave as finals are coming up, but I'll probably still lurk here to see what's going on 👀

What is everyone's favorite beta memory?

I've only been in beta since Sanctuary, but my favorite memory was probably seeing Sanctuary Islands for the first time in beta. I was absolutely blown away by the detail of the area. I got to experience it with several friends, and we just spent a long time simply flying around and exploring. My one friend wanted to burn the big plant first, but my other friend and I did the carry spirit first and used the plant to get from one place to another faster couldn't really do that in live anymore due to server splits

all of my moth experiences were from beta, so most of my favorite memories come from belonging. My second time going through eden, I met another player. We were both moths who still had no clue what to do, so we both died pretty quickly
When we got to orbit, we friended each other. Although I don't speak Japanese, I sat on the chat bench there for about an hour before we walked through the portal together. we don't usually meet in game anymore due to timezones, but they are still very active today

Mine was doing the air trial for the first time together with my oldest and very close live friend, and play with the group of ppl who helped my skykid grew up in Sky. Fun fact they all applied for Sanctuary and I did too but never told them until they found me because i wanted to try out something. So my favourite memory is basically playing together with the the people i love to play with and meeting awesome new ones in beta

I have too many memories to pick from, but one distinct memory I have is of chilling with a stranger in home and cheering them on while they tried to land on the very tip of the tower/bell thing on top of the Eden portal. They finally managed it, but before I could take a picture they promptly used an emote and fell off I named them Triumph because of that, and I still see them in my constellation sometimes even though we've never actually talked

My best memory was when I learned that my closest friend was in fact a beta tester and we applied prophecy season together. I was working a lot and I didn't want to miss any details so I waited before I go on trials. And my friend was there when I first experienced the trial. I still remember that time vividly 🤍 - the second one is when I found out my closest beta friends are friends with my closest live friends. The sky world seems big but you'd be surprised how small at times.

my best beta memory is like one of the first few days I joined beta. I got adopted by this large group of friends who took me on OOB adventures a lot. My favorite OOB I couldn’t’ find on my own to save my life but it’s somewhere in eden and there’s a purple haze so it looks like an instagram filter almost when you’re flying

My favorite beta memory is probably our “end of world party” before the progress wipe, when the game was nearing iOS launch. People were shooting fireworks, spending all of their spells, sending hearts to all of their friends and dancing together at home. I met so many beta friends I hadn’t seen for months, got to talk to some of them so we could meet again in the live version (even though we didn’t lose our friends list in the wipe). It makes me happy to know that if a progress wipe ever happens again, we’ll all be together to celebrate

My favorite beta memories are of the time spent with those that I have met in beta. Most of my friends in live did not sustain interest in beta testing leaving me alone to meet new people that I have had the best time with now, and now consider my closest sky friends whom I look forward to syncing up with on a daily basis. Bug exploration, workarounds and new features offer conversation topics... though it’s the wonderful people I have me in beta that keeps me coming.

I have many favorite beta memories, but it's still season of enchantment .
I remember being very impressed as much as I was when I started the LIVE version, with the expansion of existing areas, the addition of spell stores, quest-like storylines, and other new elements.

The enchantment quests were world changing (literally) to me in sky I was so excited that we could build up and rejuvenate an area of the game. It was so cool, and for it to come out of nowhere too!

Access was wiped from all testers, so we won't be able to download updates until we rejoin. For players in the latest update, they can still access the app at this moment but won't be able to anymore when there are new updates (unless they rejoin)

Guys I have an idea
instead of new tiers with so~so capes for veterans with lot of hearts how about a system than can allow vets to transfer hearts to people that need em , like giving any amount of hearts u have to others not with candles but transferring hearts so people who have extra hearts and have no use can give them to people in need and help them out, maybe like a 50 hearts maximum that can be giving to a person? It's a random thought and it's messy and hard to understand but bare with me here

This option can be at the end of the friendship tree so vets can transfer the hearts they have left to moths without wasting candles and also 50 is not much and it's a max if u give 50 u can't give anymore hearts to the person except for the traditional 3 candle heart

I finished all my constellations I think somewhere around six months. Sky is much more boring now with nothing to work towards. I’m looking forward to these new capes even though I have a huge amount of hearts in live and probably won’t even have to spend them all. But still. I always appreciate new content. It’s a bummer that players who don’t have everything feel like us “rich players” are being catered to - that’s pretty mean. We would still like reasons to play Sky too you know 🙃

I’ll keep leaving feedback about it but the whole point of TS to begin with was to allow players who couldn’t get a season pass to gather some seasonal items for regular in game currency. I feel it’s extremely hypocritical of them to change it.

Except that we have tested it. The TS system was changed in beta to the AP system. Now it has apparently changed back. Personally I hope it stays that way or is greatly revamped before it hits live. It is not fair to players who are chronically unable to get an adventure pass for income reasons. I say this as a player who buys AP every time plus extra for friends, plus every single exclusive IAP minus ONE cape. All my friends and all players should have the chance to get the items from the TS regardless of their income.

They never changed the prices though, all it did was add the ap logo by them. Ktjn said that we will begin testing the new system after the invite waves are over. I’m sure they will find a way where all players get a chance

I certainly hope so. 2020 has been a year that has highlighted a lot about income inequality and marginalization. I was attracted to Sky because of its altruistic nature and inherent wholesomeness. I would hate to see that take a hit, and I would certainly consider that a hit. TGC had made plenty of changes that I didn’t like and I still stuck around. But this one would make me seriously question the spirit of the game and if it still holds true to what called me to it to begin with.

The proposed plan was not to make the items ap locked. They would have the same candle price that they do already, but users with a pass would be able to unlock it for free.
The backlash wasn't because the items would no longer be available, but because the price balance was only solved for players who had made a previous purchase and not free players.
This has already been discussed at length and is still in development. It's best not to cast judgement for what we haven't seen implemented yet. This is the point of beta.

That was how it was phrased in the initial announcement, which I believe is no longer visible. In later builds, the items were ap locked, and then this feature was removed. Nothing has been fixed as of yet, and I apologize for not clarifying the ap update I was referring to.

That certainly didn’t seem to be the case when it first dropped in beta and we were all immediately talking about it. Either way, no harm no foul. I just hope they make it fair to ALL players and not just those of us who have income to spend on in game purchases.

I just checked the October 2nd update and I completely misread it the first time
I thought when it mentioned specifically ap items from season of belonging, the system would be specific to those spirits but not post ts seasons. Looks like I was wrong about that part! Sorry.
On the bright side, maybe the optional pass system I described would be a nice alternative?

Tbh that’s not a terrible alternative either - although having the items be free to current AP holders would also technically be hypocritical of another point of the TS - which was making sure TS prices were fair and considerate to the fact that past AP holders DID pay actual currency for those previously exclusive items. I think striking a balance between the two would be a better compromise. I like the idea of the items costing less candles (like let’s say 15% less candles) for current AP holders and still be the expensive prices for players without an AP.

Let’s be mindful of the fact that what people see as “fair” differs from person to person, and if i had my way, if a player didn’t hold the AP respective to the current TS then they would have to pay the full reasonable in game costs, if the player did hold the respective AP then they would have to pay a reduced a cost

Although all of these options also complicate the timeline of TS during breaks between seasons. That would have to be taken into consideration as well. If there is a 2 week break between seasons, will TS stop coming between seasons? Will seasons have a shorter break? Should they? Then what about TS that have AP lock - if the preorder isn’t out or if someone isn’t able to get the preorder but can budget for the pass when the season actually starts....and then what about gifted passes as well? Technically the player who gets the gift pass didnt pay currency themselves for it. (I LOVE gift passes tho pls do not take them away from me TGC) So how would it be fair for people who did? Lots of things to consider with this and it’s a slippery slope of what is fair.

Aahh see and Byron you make a good point. Should the items only be discounted for people who held a pass for that season? So when a Gratitude spirit comes back the discount should only be for a player who held that season pass. BUT WAIT that introduces even MORE complication because what if someone had to restart their progress for whatever reason and their past IAPs could not be credited?? There is so much nuance to what makes this system “fair” and by further complicating it beyond what it is, the slope gets more and more slippery.

When people put their money into something, they usually like to know what they're getting. Even with ap preorders, we tend to have a rough idea of the number of items we'll be getting. The random nature of traveling spirits may not be appealing to prospective ap buyers.

I think the TS system as it is in live is absolutely fine, personally, and that trying to further change it is really just catering to a small subset of vocal players who want to feel special for having something someone else couldn’t afford. YES. there are many ways to “award” long time players with harder to obtain items .....like the new capes!!! Which I LOVE the idea of. I also love the idea of the invisible cape and still hope that it may someday make it to live even though I know there are no plans for it. But just that ridiculous to obtain item would be something fun and amusing to grind for slowly over a long term.

I meant more of a comparison, for example, between the ts selection we had during Sanctuary and the ts selection we had this season. Some would prefer one or the other.

Also worth noting that depending on how long Sky decides to host its servers, and how long it has an active player base, most TS will circle back around several times. We have already had a small few that have come back more than once now. So if you play for a long enough time and you don’t miss any TS you will eventually obtain everything. Putting that behind an AP lock, however, really nerfs the incentive to play long term.

And others would prefer the vice versa, you see this is why TGC uses random selection, it’s more likely to please everyone over a longer span of time, a few spirits may be favoured by the majority of the community leaving the minority unheard, with a random system everyone has the chance to be pleased by the next TS

At this moment we're spending money to get items from a season. Putting some TS items under an ap discount magic is more to make the game less stressful for those people, who don't have the time to grind and throw ridiculous money at TGC when the TS comes. To be honest, I think the overall price for a ts should be limited to the max number of candles you can farm from Tuesday's announcement to when it leaves on Sunday.

Personally I think what REALLY needs to happen is that instead of adjusting prices, the light obtained in each realm should be slightly more balanced. We USED to have more light\candles in vault. Now it’s not even a whole candle. I never run vault for candles. I only ever run Prairie, forest, and sometimes wasteland. Everything else is a grind. Why not add more obtainable light in Isle and Vault??

In my experience, traveling spirits stress me out because I feel like I'm dedicating one whole week to grinding for a spirit, and then the next trying to work on the base constellations. If the ts is too expensive and takes all my candles, it stops my progress in the actual game.

Mmm...you know it just occurred to me that maybe this is why the TS are so stressful to some players. Folks like Byron and I have been playing since Gratitude. Well before TS were even a thing at all. I have never actually considered how much the TS must halt newer players progress because I had already made a good amount of progress by the time they came around. That’s something to consider for sure. Tbh I think they should come around less often. I think that would relieve some of the pressure to grind constantly. Of course, base constellations can be worked at at a more leisurely pace and from a development standing it’s actually good they did that because it keeps people invested and playing longer.
