If people dont know about rocket and they are having a tough time doing trials then Seeing someone cheat infront of them could definitely make them give up,.. All meant to be equal in sky ..it can directly effect another player emotionally

Ral, this is just my opinion but even though I love rocketing I do think it's unfair, bc people who are newer to the game or having a rough time completing normally will feel like it's very unfair to them that someone is rocketing their way through and finishing the trials in less than a minute

The whole point of taking your wings/energy and preventing spells and items is to make it fair for everyone, rocketing breaks that rule, no?

Rocketing in vault ruins the experience too.
The environment looks so odd and confusing. I remember being dragged along a vault CR as a moth, and I was so confused (I also missed so many stars, seems the player who dragged me didn't care about helping),
and because of that, it took me a while to understand the vault map, because all I could remember was my first vault experience joining the confusing rocket.

Piggyback rocket has always been a bug, but we've left it in because it wasn't being abused with nefarious intentions. When that line is crossed to directly circumvent designs, we have to reassess the situation. This is relatable to situations with glitching into the Office. We are generally okay with going out of bounds as long as it doesn't damage regular gameplay experiences for players who don't wish to go out of bounds. However when it comes to glitching into the office, it's considered an exploit, circumventing the need for specific capes (or friendship with someone who has one) to gain entry.

We don't makes changes to punish honest players, we make changes to prevent poor-intentioned behavior.

I have the founders cape so I can promise I don’t need to OOB in to office but I’m pretty sure there’s still other ways to do so with chibi OOB as well as piggy glitch. Would it be worth reporting those specific OOBs as bugs should I encounter them?

unfortunately that kind of defeats the purpose of the tgc capes. But there are events that let in players who don't have a founders cape, so then they can buy it! or make friends with those who have it

Meanwhile I join my friends on OOB so we can role play in different scenes/ environment

At the top top highest pillar of Valley, we once played real estate and even had contract signing and housewarming party SkyLOL

I didn't think other people would use the OOB-ing glitches to cheat in the game. That's just sad.

harbin, pretty sure they made it much harder to get in, as the portal is inactive unless someone with the cape is near it. even when you go underneath to where the portal is hiding, it is inactive. it would take a lot of effort and patience to get in without a cape. but reporting such exploits would be helpful pSkyHeart

The founder's cape wasn't cheap. I delayed buying my air fryer to afford it.
Do I regret my decision? No. I enjoy taking my friends to that area, and our favorite day is ISS day!
I especially love it when I take a newbie friend it. They looove the office, especially the crabs and the daily changing office spirits.
I love its premium color as well.

So finding out that non-founder's cape players try to glitch into the office is disappointing for me.
I also disagree with the idea of a free day. It defeats the purpose of it being a secret area.

The blue cape cost alot .... and tbh i dont want people to beable to go in their on a free day -it renders the cape pointless (i wouldnt of bought it ) . Unless a event (all welcome :)) giving free day .... That discourages friend making .. Their are plenty of blue capes to make friends with to get in ... Im one who always will always bring someone in aslong as they dont stamp and get angry .... everytime i go i take someone new

Assuming it’s possible to OOB in though you don’t need to wait long for a founders cape user to activate the portal. Whenever I go through there’s usually one or two coming with me with a cape of their own. Hopefully they just keep making it harder and harder to get in at all without the intended way and patch out the exploits ^^ stickerHeart

@runic path Yes. definitely. You can add them as friends instead, and you can ping or join them to uber you in whenever you need a dose of the secret area.

EDIT: Oh wait, you have the office cape, you just want to help the ones who don't have them? Even if they only got in there via glitch anyway?

Don't encourage their behavior. They aren't even supposed to be there in the first place.

If they don't have the cape, I'm sure they can make friends with people who have the founder's cape. Then they can all share the office together.

Regarding Office glitches, if you can reproduce it (for cases like this, videos are the most helpful) definitely submit a bug report. If you're worried about backlash for reporting an exploit, you can always send it to @hardy carbon where the report will only be seen by staff.

The way I think of waiting for others to OOB into office to open the portal for them is this:
First off it is TGC's office, quite literally. They gave me a blue visit pass when I purchased my founders cape and that entitles me and my plus one friends free access whenever we like. Pretty generous if you ask me.

Even though I have a free pass in though I shouldn't use it to help someone else break in. They don't want people breaking into their office so I don't want to help people break into their office, especially since TGC entrusted me with a pass in for me and my friends.

That's just my take but I hope that helps make things easy to understand from my perspective. stickerHeart

I have a few friends who have the office cape too, but know how to office glitch.

They do it with the chibi fall on any slanted surface in the entry area of the office.
(their excuse it that, I wanna go to the office in white cape so I can take good pictures. I have the office cape anyway so this doesn't count as cheating)

Maybe update the layout of the area and make the surfaces more flat? Anyway vault map has not had any redo's and I think revamping/ upgrading some areas of it will make the map even more awesome! Like for example, it's too dark to play it when I'm playing outdoors. Maybe make it brighter too?
If the surface is flat or vertical, chibi fall will not work. I think that's a good solution to discourage glitching in using chibi without removing our OOB capabilities.

We need to have chibi fall for our OOB adventures, so please don't take it away...

I think they already have made it much more flat than it used to be around office. Not to mention the other OOB techniques. Of course still report it like Ktjn said if you get the chance, but the only way I see it truly being patched without disabling OOB everywhere is to make the office portal be a 'smart' portal. Like the constellation gates. The portal would only accept someone wearing founders cape or someone holding hands/piggy back with a founders cape user (or beta cape).

Or maybe make the walls part of the portal too.
In my experience tagging along those friends who showed me the glitch, they did it via the grassy area, then flew up to the smartgate by flying up.

So why not bubble wrap the whole area from around the gate? So that even with chibi fall, founder's cape will be required to bypass the entry point.

Speaking of which those spells for the pins, they don't work for piggy back to transfer friends but do for hand hold. Not sure if that's a coding limitation or a bug or both since piggy back drops you off when you change map zone anyway.

Do it with a friend or two.

Candles are your bestfriends: one of you carry red candle to light the unlit ones attached to the ground in the path, and one or two of of you carry white candle (it has brighter glow) to keep you both alive and illuminate the path/ surrounding area. Stay close to one another. Your glow is brighter when your candles are closer together.

Watch out for the krillfarts (their paths have a pattern if you're willing to observe hard enough) and familiarize yourself with their paths.
Hint: krillfarts don't like getting near the candles attached to the ground, stay close to those. However, they don't care about your red and white candles you hold in your hand, you will still die if they touch you even if you're holding your candle.

If you see a red laser thing afar, your friends who are holding white candles can try to shout (deep call) to see a little bit of the krillfarts and the direction they are headed, and strategize your direction based on that.

Make sure you light up the candle bowls - they are your spawn points in case you die.

Accept the inevitability of you dying and respawning back to your last lit candle bowls every now and then.

Face the obstacle bravely.

From the previous design, the first diamond at the top would get eaten by the neck thingy connected to the shoulder pads. It didn't look good.

There's not many of us here in beta chat, especially right now. If we're already in a conversation it can be easy to skip over a message, especially if we don't have an answer to it. Sky kids have no gender and I'm not sure the elders have been given a gender either although some may say its obvious one way or another. I personally think its a more boyish hairstyle but that's just my opinion, others may differ. Bottom line, if you like the hair then wear it and if you don't then don't wear it. stickerHeart

Awww, I want the old Earth Prophet Cape back-
Last time I checked, the mesh with the upper star is actually pretty okay. It only gets messed up when you do certain emotes like Praying Emote lvl 3

@spark lance that cape was part of a season, so most older players probably got it that way even if it was also briefly available as an IAP. Those players who bought it with real money were compensated in another way.

Not to comment on the bug but be aware fur cape is a valid ts possibility I'm pretty sure. Yes some players bought it separately but the ts may still return at any given time I believe. It is not an ultimate gift.

I believe that has been patched in the current beta build Dvidbang. It is unfortunate it made it to live but it also would have significantly delayed the season if it was held back. TGC weighs their options and try their best to patch all they can while we try out best to find the bugs and pass it on here.

It’s definitely meant to do with a friend. We do piggyback and use white candles. Never have it burn us. It is easy to get lost though 😂

if the sanctuary island was fine why did they damage it? If there is a beta, why do errors have to be filtered live? @charred harbor No one here said these things were not important. We beta players are not responsible for bugs in Live. We only try our best to let TGC know about them, but TGC also has to prioritise what they work on. And not all bugs can be fixed in a minute.

I hear you Samuel. There is a feeling of pressure. But going with friends that you have warp with can help if you get super frustrated at a point, or as a check point. We do in relays. Some are better at parts then others. We work together

@charred harbor Also fixing bugs can be tricky. Sometimes when you fix one thing, it accidentally affects 9 other things.

Do you think they want to take away the animations and release a build with that much bugs on purpose? Of course not. They're constantly looking for ways to fix anything and everything they can.

Sky is a big game but TGC is a small company. We cannot expect perfection from them but we can always expect excellence. They always do their best for us, sometimes even to their expense.

As a developer myself, some persistent bugs are hard to fixed. Even giant companies are also dealing with bugs especially those that are hard to be fixed. Just bear in mind Dvid that there is no perfect game that has no bugs.

But that feeling you get Blep, when you finally master a trial. Earth trial at the end, I couldn’t do the last stepping stones part for so long. I kept trying and finally did it by myself. It felt so good! I can’t compare myself with others and their abilities. Of course, it doesn’t mean I will do that one alone much because the end drives me crazy!

The rocket bug is used to pass the tests, they make videos where they teach how to do it, they upload it to the networks and more people do it by passing the tests in 1 minute, what I mean is that it becomes boring when people no longer explore and they just do it fast

I am aware it is an exploit, I was commenting on the fact the rules prohibit discussion of exploits but I am unsure where this particular one stands as I have seen many conversations with no intervention talking about feedback for it. I love the Halloween cosmetics but I love this season's masks more. Also I don't have the money to get the Halloween stuff SkyLOL I've made a rule for myself to save and only get items with use (like lantern and hopefully returning swing-set) along with the occasional cosmetic. Unless these ones are significantly cheaper in live than beta I'll probably save for Christmas cosmetics SkyTada (assuming they have a Christmas event)

Try to drag 7 friends without piggyback in trials. pFIRE piggy rocket tho... I don't think its fair to use to complete the trials, but since the trials don't give that much of a reward besides the satisfaction that u completed them and a wing. .. Those who don't like the trials won't go there anyways. Those who like the trials will go there to do the them in the regular way. SkyShrug
But adding a reset wall over the highest checkpoint would solve the rocket problem i guess. (I would definitely miss the view from far up tho, it's beautiful in air, earth and water)

The cape would now... well, won’t look right on certain stances too since the shoulder pads are now part of the neck rather than the cape itself-

Has anyone had issues with glowing people on water trials hounding you and won’t leave you alone to do trials ... I know they are trying to help but I find it very annoying... it’s not just a quick ask ... they won’t leave you be ...it’s very clostrophobic and quite forceful the way they were acting..... everyday for 3 days me and my friends have had same issues

@desert mango At lwast one person haa filed a bug about the mask changing color (though all their screenshots were taken in the Closet; the phenomenon may be less evident in other lighting conditions). As I understand things, you're right that the mask technically does not change color, but it's shiny enough that it can weakly reflect the color of the cape you're wearing.
I actually think this is really neat, from a technical perspective. I'm not one to normallt gush about how a game engine handles lighting, but in a game that's all about light I think it makes sense to sit back and appreciate it a little extra.

you can get there many ways. you can fly through (a hole in) the cloud layer and then fly down on the outside (that gets you red sky)
you can do the eden flyover skip and overshoot and there should be a way to jump off the side if youre standing on top of the area with the tunnel. (that gets you blue sky)

There is an awful lot of misinformation going around right now, because someone heard something from someone else, but no one is really bothering to actually read the suggestion. We test out lots of stuff in beta that never make it to Live. This was a first idea proposed to us and many people have sent in feedback on it. There will probably be another suggestion soon. @spark lance

259 candles is max today if you preodered properly (and didn't get extra bugged candles) and got candles that first day. 239 I think max if you missed that first day and did floor is lava bug order.

I recall someone saying not to get people hyped up thinking it might fix last minute too. If it happens then yay but don't get your hopes up if you were affected by the bug. Big part of beta is accepting the fact that items/currency/etc. may disappear with no compensation. We test these things so it's less likely to happen to live players who need compensations for it. Basically assume stuff can poof at any given time and don't get too attached to your beta stuff ~~I'm totally not prepped to be buff moth again any minute now~~

progress wipe would allow you to grab the candles from starter and founder packs again, as well as redo the old seasonal quests -- basically fast way of regaining hearts (using the candles from those two packs to buy out the regular spirit hearts once you've unlocked them)

I fount Sky through Fox Band's Coffin Dance video for the game's first anniversary. I was like "What is this game? It's so pretty! Is it on Steam? Sign me up."
And now I wish I knew of this game sooner. This game is literally pretty much all I ever wanted in a game. A peaceful with some risk, meet others and make friends, in a post apocalyptic world, and characters with unique personalities. And it's so environmental. And I always wanted to know what it felt like if you can fly. Sure there are several flight simulators out there, but Sky really hits home with how accessible everything is with flight, along with a few limitations. But you can't have everything. Think of the planes- SkyLOL

i joined sky during rhythm, but didn't know what a season was, so i collected two emotes thinking they were regular spirits, not collecting cosmetics because it was my first runthrough, and then left the game at wasteland because I was playing at 11pm and the krill gave me a heart attack, rejoined around mid-enchantment, and didn't know where the pants went in the closet SkyShrug

they had to revert the winter piano because people were also angry that they 'changed the design' to be smaller, when in reality they added the animation, but we couldn't test it at first since it was still the ultimate. once the switch happened and people saw the animation, the team was already in the process of switching it back SkyShrug

But again, aesthetics are subjective, we're never going to make everyone happy 100% of the time. Ultimate items aren't necessarily meant to be insanely functional or fancy, they are a token to show you had 100% completion of a season. If we attempted to one-up ourselves every season with the ultimates, we'd be designing things that were more complex for the sake of being complex, instead of designing things that fit the narrative of the respective season.

That's probably the reason for the hype of quite a bit of the ultimates, and also cause you can match it to so many things in the wardrobe, if the rabfox mask was an ult instead of the deer mask it would be much more highly sought after if ults return

Tbh manta cape looks way prettier when we actually use it than how it looked just in the closet first in beta. I wasn’t a fan of it first when we had the chance tomtry it on.

The manta cape, sunglasses, and onesie were really criticized in beta, now theyre all pretty popular (yes i hated the sunglasses, yes my beta skykid wears them all the time, no i still hate the onesie- I do admit its adorable its just not my style )

At any point I think what’s most important is for us to realize, we really do represent a small minority... I didn’t like the fact that the earth and air capes were so similar in color — but on a broader scale, maybe the sky community loves the two new purple additions to their wardrobe ><

Enchantment cause moth nostalgia, Belonging cause its all so cozy and sweet, Rhythm because owl, gratitude for that warm and exciting feel, tbh im only ever hyped for the lightseekers instruments, sanctuary is so chill and bright, prophecy just started i have no opinion

They feel sort of? Graduationy ? Like how sanctuary's cosmetics during the season were playful and fun but after the season feel bittersweet and laid back, Prophecy's cosmetics feel like you were one of the student spirits the prophets were teaching and youre much more knowledgeable ?

I’m not sure about you guys but don’t you love how tGC captures texture and weight of the capes so well? Like belonging capes felt like they were made of silk
And enchantment capes out of a harder almost carpet like cloth

Yes ive noticed the textures ! The lightseekers capes feel as thin as paper, while the belonging capes are like a cozy knit sweater? The enchantment capes feel like ~~the scratchy sari fabric your grandma has~~ woven and thick threads, almost like silk pEyes
