I can imagine a hacker now just getting swarmed by angry moths all reporting them for being jerks hehe! Aye will report it then, not sure how to replicate it but I’m sure they can maybe pinpoint its happening to a certain part of the map, they were placing tables and trying to fly through the skylight so it might have something to do with boundaries and temporary floors

I believe it's possible to have the drum due to some bugs. I've witnessed a few players here report them getting 90 candles instead of the first 30 for example. But the mask is not available in any way without hacking since the last spirit isn't here yet

I think it’s a system thing that prevents headphones from appearing on android players, my friend can listen to music outside sky and headphones won’t appear, the only time they appear is when she is speaking with voice recognition, maybe it’s an input thing?

Probably, it’s that or they don’t have a good way of telling which apps are actually making a noise that should be prioritized and heard inside sky over the ambient noise and music, since anyone can post apps on the google play store they don’t have to follow the same guidelines for all their basic functions
Which could mean it would be really annoying to try to work against all of them at the same time

it means you're not a tester anymore. they removed everyone's access to beta updates and sent invites for us to rejoin the beta program. if you didnt get through the new invites, its normal that you're out :(

So I just went through the fire trial and since I’ll have to go through it again in live/to bring friends through is there any way to avoid the coils/smog thingies? arte, someone's said that it felt like the ghost creatures swerve around you if you deep call; i don't know how true that is, but that's still probably a good idea with friends since the deep call might recharge your friend and counteract the darkness drain

I played fire trial when it first dropped, I think they avoid deep calls but the few that did try to eat me were duped cause you crouch to deep call, so they just fly right over you. It takes some timing but it’s super effective!

no one should be having ultimate gifts (especially not the mask)
no one should be having fire elder stuff

Report these players if you see them running around with these clothings on!

I do candle runs in both just cause Sky is pretty much my only down time during the day. Plus doing full runs helps me see any new bugs that pop up while doing daily things.

Sky and beta are completely separate apps ^^ The only link between them can be an account link so you can link your game centre to both separate accounts.

Beta is for TEST purposes, can be wiped out if the developers need to , so I don’t recommend at all for you to delete the live version of the game

#

besides , some seasons don’t get to an end because the testing necessary was done , also if something happens and beta is all buggy and crashes a lot you’re stuck with only a game with a lot of bugs

Shorter than live, and we get more seasonal candles per day. If you’re able to complete or not... that varies from season to season. The goal isn’t to complete the season but to test and make sure it runs smoothly stickerHeart

@spark lance they recently did a access wipe for beta. So everyone lost their access at that time (access to beta and thus no longer a tester). If you did not join back in with the invite waves that came a bit after, you can’t play beta until the next waves and you get into beta again. Which most likely will not be before we test the season after this ^^

the season lasts however long they need to test it. it's been different every time. the only consistency is that it's shorter than live but we do get more candles per day (11 on beta and 6 on live) to make up for that. good news is we can still preview ALL of the cosmetics in the closet to provide feedback on their looks

Speaking of our friend fire spirit: I did their trial once again. And to me it was still the same difficulty as pre-this build. There was some finicky save points too. I had a laugh. How was it for you guys? More difficult or the same/less?

TGC always investigates reports. they can tell if you got them by a bug or not so even if someone reports you, nothing bad will happen to you. But TGC might pinpoint how the 40 candle bug happened because you're not the only one who got 40 stickerHeart

you get 1.5 seasonal candles per bunch of candles in the realms in beta instead of 0.25 like live. so the realm candles give you 6 total in beta and 1 total in live

a lot of android users who are beta testers can't download right now. the only advice we can give is to try all the troubleshooting steps in #beta-faq and if those don't work we can only wait and hope google fixes it soon (they probably won't. there's some people going on 4 months who can't download) stickerGloomy

Nolegs did you rejoin on the latest invite wave? they wipe access before each new season now and if you don't rejoin you can't update. (you would have been able to keep playing after the access wipe up until the next app update after the wipe)

Both are fine, though I personally prefer discord, because it is shared publicly in the channel. There are a portion of dedicated people who do comb through that channel and try to reproduce bugs on their own (different) devices

Also with regards to hackers: anyone with anything from the Fire Prophet or anubis ult is a hacker.

TGC doesn't have candle packs available in store for a reason: they want us to play normally, do quests, find seasonal candles. They would not allow seasonal item completion achievable this early. It defeats the very purpose of testing.

So please just report. Don't have to ask in here for confirmation, especially don't have to post screenshots of them.

if a player reports you and you obtained your items/candles legitimately (or through a bug you had no control over), nothing bad happens to you. TGC investigates the reports.

edit: @spiral osprey that was a bug that was prior to season of sanctuary and has already been fixed. you aren't meant to buy candles in beta. See Wyiott's post like 2 posts above yours stickerHeart

Fire spirit isn't available in the cave right now........... That's why currently people who have it are doing it via TOS breaking means.

When it is properly released then it's fine. But anubis mask would still NOT be achievable this early through legitimate means. If someone did slip through the cracks and had a huge amount of candles due to a previous past glitch, it's really on them whether they decide to wear the ult and get mistakenly reported.

People who have trouble with fire trial are the ones who would rely on a map.... But their feedback on their troubles are the most valuable to send in SkyFaint

If people are having trouble doing fire trial when it's love and need maps, it's fine. But right now in beta things can still be improved and changes in their design. It is not good for struggling players to give up and rely on maps to solve problems for them. They need to send in feedback and hopefully TGC improves the game design itself.

Hi there! Apologies for the ping. We love your enthusiasm and eagerness to help, but we wanted to ask you (and any other fellow mapmakers) to hold off on making maps for the trials while they are still being actively tested in beta. It's important to gather feedback from people experiencing the trials with fresh eyes, and therefore the maps could alter player feedback on the trials gameplay. It's vital during this beta stage to get an understanding of how many players are succeeding, or struggling, on these trials. A few beta players having trouble may represent the hundreds of live people will also have the same problems, and those live players might not have access to helpful discords/websites like we do. It's problems like these that should be genuinely sent into feedback so TGC can improve game design. Besides, they're are still being polished, so we would hate for all your hard work to potentially go to waste as soon as the next patch comes out! Thank you for understanding.

@cyan cedar staying close to the lit candles is usually enough for not dying? at least for me. look for patterns of these thingies and stay close to candles whenever earth is shaking. also bunny-jumping is faster than just running, so it's sometimes easier to hop to the next candle and light it up than just run to it

edit: i wonder if it works for me bc in chibi? im smol and these things don't do much damage when im near the candles

deep/long call makes the shout_b shout_a happen so you have a little temporary light in dark places pThink (please don't spam it around other players though. photosensitive people do play) I forgot light mode people can't see the call emote. it's there' just also white as the background

yeah people have spammed it around me and it is AWFUL especially if they're right next to me. the whole dang screen flashes. it can't flash rapidly but slow flashing can be bad for some people too so just don't do it a bunch right next to someone if you're not sure (edit because I'm lazy for slowmode. the mantas in vault I legit wait at the bottom for someone to light for me. I can't do it on top of them)

they wipe beta access in between each new season. You have to rejoin beta every time now. did you re-join in the recent invite waves about 10 days ago? you would have been able to keep playing until the update on a previous invite but you can't update if you don't rejoin.

also turning screen brightness down and playing in a room with a decent amount of light helps. some devices will also let you change contrast settings so you can try lowering the contrast on your device while you play sky and reset it when you're done. OH I can put that in feedback to add contrast settings in game

i was able to get the water prophet's cape today since i grinded for candles every single day. i could of gotten it yesterday (i think) but since i bought the pass during "floor is lava" i got 20 candles instead of 30. my friend says the also grinded every day. not sure when they bought the pass, but they should of been able to get the cape by now but they apparently don't have enough candles. i dunno. unless they went for a different cape im not sure what happened. if this can help you not to get lost, whenever you die and reappear in the fire trial, the camera is facing where you have to go.

I think the shadows have a set path, since they don't target you. If one comes close to you, the screen starts to shake. Laying down or using the faint emote directly on top of a candle should help a little bit, but you could still be hit

if you bunny hop you should travel faster, giving you enough time to light the next candle
btw turning the luminosity all the way up should allow you to see the next red candle in the dark

general rule of thumb for bug reports is to report it even if other players have. it could be a device specific bug and all that data helps them pinpoint the cause. If it's in #beta-known-issues however, this generally means they know the bug exists and probably already have a plan to fix it so it's not necessary to report that

the water trial is so ez, what if you lose a checkpoint every death, i.e. when you die from your 5th checkpoint, you respawn at the 4th, then if you die again without touching the 5th, you should respawn at 3rd.

The Whale Call Spirit Shop is sometimes used as a placeholder location where we test items on beta that may or may not be related to Seasonal content. It will not have any impact on completing a zone's Constellation nor impede your ability to achieve the Hidden Forest Ultimate Gift in the Live version of the game.

The invisible cape has been moved to a new permanent location and is no longer on the Hidden Forest constellation. The price is not a placeholder. It's not meant to be something every player gets. It's not an Ultimate Ultimate gift for completing every constellation. It is meant to be a deliberately difficult item for those that really want to be capeless.

** The price is not a placeholder. ** It's meant to be a silly item and prohibitively expensive, which is why there was a 99 Ascended Candle lock tied to it as well as the 999 Heart cost. Not having a cape and being able to fly is immersion breaking and exposes some of the rigging wonkiness of the skykid character model. For the time being, it exists only in Beta as we develop long term goal features, but may eventually go to Live.

Reminder that Everything in Beta Is Subject to Change Before Making it's Way into the Live Game

I really think the hieroglyphs are a mess at the moment .. Just their placement and the mid air floatyness ... The cieling one fades once out of cutscene .. Anyone else not see the ceiling one until you fly close ? I love the actuall hieroglyphs the story they tell is like woah ..

yeah the floaty murals are just a restriction due to the game engine. they're a separate aspect and not part of the cave wall textures. they have to be a separate aspect due to the "being revealed only after you complete trials" bit. all murals float a little in the game

Ive about wrapped up the season as in took it all in and ive got to say this season is the most magical expierience ive had in sky .. The music is absolutely perfect... Even when its not playing i still hear it .... By the time it hits live it be even better than it is ... Omgosh the sky community are gonna go nuts over the whole season .. you can use faint or lay down on the candles to try avoiding them or just bunny hop through it as fast as possible and try to avoid death. i go as chibi too. i don't really know. SkyShrug

The Chinese live is actually behind, they just recently started sanctuary. Days of Summer Light doesn't exist yet either.

Just keep dying and respawning at check point. Never stop moving. You’ll get there one of the times. I did the fire trial before it was updated, so this advice could be outdated.

Chinese server is behind in seasons specifically but for other nonseasonal things, they have an entirely unrelated event schedule. Their TS are totally different and they get different events like "days of summer lights" now in global live and "kizuna ai" in the Chinese server. they probably won't get days of summer lights like we probably won't get kizuna AI because Chinese server is operated by a different company than TGC

yeah, the kizuna ai pack is kinda expensive for what it is, a hair and a white vault cape with a pink inside. it's ¥128/around 19$USD which is the same price as a seasonal pass for you and 2 friends in chinese live.

so about the new textures... i like them, but theres a few issues.

pretty much all of them are noticeably tiled.
they are used in too many places they shouldn't be.
they look great in places like valley where theres lots of snow, but not in the arena at the end of it. also in isle, they dont really work there that much.

@fresh crater ah sorry didn't see this right away. The Chinese server is run by an entirely different company from TGC. The Kizuna AI collaboration there is because of the company that runs the Chinese Sky server. Items and events they have that global doesn't is entirely because that company made different marketing choices than TGC. edit to add: they also miss out on a LOT of stuff that global version gets

Sequoia beta chat is usually very quiet except when beta invites go out and right at the start of a season. It can go 6+ hours without a single message sometimes SkyLOL we do chatter a little when there's updates or when someone experiences a bug. But generally once invite and new season hype die down, it's super quiet here. I still remember that time skybean came in after like 4 hours of silence and just dropped this emote and left

NS I did the math earlier and even with the people who got lucky with a bug and received up to 80 candles with pre-order pass, nobody could have earned enough candles by today to finish two whole spirit trees (edit; even then if you report people who got bugged candles, it helps the devs pinpoint what caused the bug. the affected players won't be punished)

The fire trial only some areas is safe staying on candle... The ones that hit you are heading strait for you .. You must move ... I dont die on fire trial anymore theirs a nack and a certain candle count to which are safe from fire ghosts... Or maybe i just luck out everytime .. Seems different things have been workin for different peeps.. I love fire trial its creepy cool

If there’s ever going to be a season that’s worth getting the AP, it’s probably this one. 10 usd/eur for a whole season is dirt cheap and you won’t have to worry about missing out on certain cosmetics. However, that’s just my opinion 😊

I think this is a general process for games. Once it's created, hackers will dive in and decipher game codes for content. It's unfortunate and quite disgusting, to be frank, but it's the kind of world we live in.

I just get a little sad that the brilliant narrative that runs through this game is often overlooked for the cosmetic elements (which don’t get me wrong, are absolutely worth excitement). This Season is super heavy in symbolism and emotion; there’s so much there for us other than just the same old game play. Let’s take a minute to salute TGC for creating something that acknowledges there can be much much more to games and our experience as humans than what we or others look like.

some people are able to solo, it’s down to a lot of retries and timing (sometimes jus plain luck). Other people do it with friends. I really encourage you to also send in feedback to TGC about your experience and the difficulty you are having SkyPray

@limber turtle Well said! But isn't the symbolism that you describe also fundamental in the cosmetics? There's no dice roll for which animals and colors are linked to which elements, it's all well thought through.

At this stage of beta, things still can be changed, so feedback is super super valuable and can help with the game design that eventually makes it to live. What one beta player is having trouble with, would translate to hundreds of live people having trouble stickerShock

Absolutely Elius, not having a go at the cosmetics at all nor their thoughtful designs. Just made me sad watching so many players fly past me ignoring the murals when we all first entered the cave, and flying through the spirits when i was trying to see each scene. Soo much more to absorb but each to their own, not judging, just acknowledging there is incredible depth there in this game pSkyHeart

@unreal tusk I’ve seen some people mention a few tricks they used like sitting rather than standing at a candle, some keep their candle out some dont, some go chibi (if u can), or deep call when fuzzies approach - just need to try and few different things maybe? It’s harder since the update! No doubt

It is hurting someone though. Its hurting the devs. Say someone reports a bug while hacking. In that scenario, the bug could be something that, normally, is fine. But since they were hacking, you can't tell the difference. So the devs could potentially cause something to be fixed that didn't need to be fixed in the first place.

I feel like the air trial is easy but it’s too long (maybe have some sort of puzzle to figure out in the middle? And maybe I thought it was too long bc i kept falling off haha)

I think it’s unfair to say someone hacking is stealing yes, but that doesn’t mean I’m saying they don’t have a negative effect. I understand rules are rules but I’m still going to go about my day following my own opinion, no one has to agree or disagree, but saying hacking is stealing is a stretch, quite rude really, and fighting fire with fire( as hacking is rude, yes) isn’t the way to go.

I like where it is now. Maybe up the difficulty a little bit. Only problem I have with it is if I fall and hit lower ground, it kept reseting the checkpoint to the lower spot, which made me lose a lot of progress at least twice. Idk if thats a bug or not

my friend managed to skip a section of it, because the air was strong enough to pull them to the next wind current pEyes i wonder if that should be patched up or count as an strategy

For the air trial, I also found there were some areas that I could "skip" with the air currents. And honestly, I didn't even know I skipped them until I looked back SkyLOL

I think so? I got the pass during Floor is Lava so I’m missing 10 candles and are on my 4th unlock of Air spirit, which includes the hair, lvl 3/4 emote and the cape.

Well, the development team are getting more experience with OpenGL ES and Vulkan APIs, so it would make sense there would be less and less bugs over time releasing new content...

@wild wing When that spirit arrives, it's highly likely Ktjn will announce it in #beta-announcements, like when she said fire trial would be available in a certain build. Best to just subscribe to that channel. No regular player here is privy to insider info or knows when it'll come
