Air trial is kinda wonky, because you don’t have your cape so you think (at least I did) that you won’t “fly” but you actually get the flight button. So if you keep that in mind you can toggle the flight mode so you can easier land where you need

I tried it all of the trials for the second time a few hours later and it was super easy to speedrun through them, maybe I'm used to platformers like Celeste but it was easy now once you got the hang of it

Fam the air trial was the one I almost raged in. It wasn't that I kept falling, more that I landed sometimes and it reset my spawnpoint. I can deal with falling, but losing progress made me angy

First time doing earth trial for me was during the server instability. Fair warning, if you keep getting connection error pop up, just don't do it until the server is back up, it stops all input and can cause you to fall off... Constantly... Banged my head on my desk a few times (figuratively) to complete the earth trial during that time.

My favorite thing about the trials is finding where you have to go next. Try panning the camera around, you might notice something you missed before. Moving also helps your eyes/brain process the monochromatic landscape easier, so it doesn't all blend together!

I really love that you have to look carefully, especially in the wind trial. Keeps you on your toes

caution, if you haven't collected the shiny boi at the end of the earth trial after meditating, do not fall off the edge, the shiny boi will dissapear and you will be forced to restart the whole trial

It’s fun to see people having some difficulties. Earlier I watched someone that hadn’t done the water trial do it and it was really interesting. We all think and understand everything differently. So for some they might get the hang of it fast and for others they might not, but we still all figure it out in the end and find our own quirks on how to pass them.

I reckon it is a pin due to the 13th spell that was added, whether the jellyfish call is a placeholder for the surprise spell or the pin is of a jellyfish, or none!! It is september, which is when they said they would give an update or date, im very excited, EDIT that may have been me as I did a big post dump of my thoughts on the spells and which pins they correlate to, and the fact jellyfish is the only one not given a description haha

NothingMuch: the devs said they decided to make Sanctuary fun and more casual because Covid was affecting so many people, they wanted to give players more of an escape from all the stress and gloom. Season of Prophesy is a bit more serious/closer to sky’s usual aesthetics. Different strokes for different folks, I think it’s nice that there’s a variety of stuff for people with different tastes

The Air trial was a breath of fresh air (Pun intended), I actually found it easier than the Earth trial. Then again, that’s because the platforms in the Air trial don’t rotate in all directions and don’t move faster than you can land on them. I feel like the way the game’s physics engine/ledge detection works is what makes the Earth trial so hard, especially close to the end.

Personally I’m just waiting for the Fire trial to open up so I can look for the Chest bump spirit and buy those samurai pants

I think the Trial of Fire would ironically take place in snow. Matches the white theme, and I guess we would slowly get frozen over time if we dont reach the flame. Maybe some fire spots get extinguished over time and we cant stay in one place too long. And given the emote, I would say the trial name is maybe Wisdom of Confidence.

I think this is the best season ever. All cosmetics are so detailed and beautiful. Also I love that trial stuff! It's not just "go and get blah blah". It's so fun to do the challenges (well labyrinth's parkour made me go angy mode but it was fun). I really love everything about this season!

The Earth trial's labyrinth is interesting because its mechanics bring destruction as well as new paths ahead. It undoubtedly has lots of secrets and I like how it pushes us to be curious of whats around us - but also to remember paths and pay attention to detail. It also makes us very aware of how far we can jump from block to block. However the name Wisdom of Resilience doesn't really fit as much as the Water Trial's "Wisdom of Patience" does, it terms of takeaway. 🤔

I can imagine earth trial might be harder for some people, especially if they're on smaller screened phones. Maybe some people are more used to flying so running and jumping with precision might be something they haven't practiced much until now.

In order to get the drum you gotta get to the end of two spirit roads, where the hearts lie. And since there’s no candle packs in beta, no, you will not be able to hear the drum just yet. @lucid oyster you can’t get candle packs, but you can get things like the founders pack and season passes which include candles.

||water trial was mostly about timing and planning the best path for things, and it reminded me of trying to dodge the stones in eden + light up the thingies to have light for longer||
||earth trial and air trial were both parkour and earth had a lot of jumps while air was as restricted as eden while I tried to “fly” and never quite made it||

I still can't talk about it in with my lore gang but notice how the first lore was the same as the opening sequence "where the stars fell" but there was the gate in the cloud (it was the prophecy cave), this is where we got our wing, our very first wing (isle). so these trials are needed to obtain them (at least our ancestors did)

Cosmetics appear to be the same. Spirits have capes, pants, hairs and masks together and in other seasons you’d get like a mask with hair or a mask with a cape, so it seems to be alright.

I’ve played Sky for over a year now. I just had an experience in Beta that I haven’t had in a year. Four skykids waited at the end of the rock maze for me, even though it took me at least 40 tries. They could have moved on and I wouldn’t have thought twice. But they didn’t. When I finally made it, they all shared light and danced and clapped and then we all sat together for the finish. That strange and rare sense of kindness and comraderie came back and I was humbled by it. Then one of them stayed with me through the Air trial, and laughed with me when I fell a million times. Brought me back to the feeling that made me keep playing. I’m very grateful.

What if at the start of the season, you get to choose a trial to unlock, then you get to choose another every two weeks, so after six weeks you have them all unlocked, but each person can do them in a different order.

I’ve been thinking about the lore too, Some random first impression thoughts/guesses:

• I wondered if the darkness/water was the darkness that originally drove the star people away from their original home in space
• maybe the darkness was also created from another form of corruption
• cause there’s no structure like the maze in Sky, maybe we’re reenacting the evacuation and the Prophets were warning the new inhabitants of the land that they shouldn’t fall into the same cycle and corrupt the water
• the trials are purposely hard and capeless to teach people how much of a struggle it was to evacuate, thus the murals with lots of ‘dead’ people lying down
• Prophets served under the Elders? I notice their lights going to each respective realm. idk lol
• Too bad tho, the cycle began again because the Elders corrupted their new world

do remember that this is a lore themed season, the spirits for the season are dubbed "the 4 founders" so the monochromatic color scheme is kind of fitting imo. since this is lore based, isle is the perfect spot for the new location and each trial represents the beginning of time where there is possibly no beauty and color.
kind of like in enchantment where each light brought back to life a piece of color and beauty to the boat, its doing the same here.
as each trial is finished, the central cave gets that element and becomes a bit less empty

the enchantment analogy is more just a comparison to how with each light, you brought something back and made it beautiful. in prophecy here, with each trial you do you bring that element back into the central cave. water brought water, earth brought floaty stone cubes, air brought mini air geysers, and fire is unknown for now.

Here’s my idea of the lore of this season.
There are two prophecies. The original prophecy fortold the fall of the spirit kingdom in the realm of sky. When the kingdom collapsed, the cave of prophecies remained, but it was hidden. The Skykids were created to help restore the kingdom. But before the fall of the kingdom, there was a second prophecy, one that only the prophets knew of. The second prophecy foretells of a darkness yet to come. We as a skykid attempt the trials to master the four elements and internalize their wisdom in order to learn how to keep the darkness at bay.

what if this season actually makes you travel to the past, before the spirits were spirits and simply students? it would explain why you need a portal to get there and why its in the isle (isle means birth, this could mean that were travelling to the beginning of sky civilization)

Am... Am I the only one who cheesed that last section with like 7-8 rocks?

Edit: yes, there's cheese. There are some questionably placed sections of the wall to hop on top of the maze and completely skip it.

good morning guys. So to my understanding...

The prophets are the teachers of the constellation spirits.
The spirits of the new area are not regular seasonal spirits. They are "prophets". Special visitors.

Each door of theirs has tests they call "Trials" (will report all bugs experienced some time today)

In the trials, spells and items are unavailable and it's (almost) every man for himself. You have to rely on your wit and speed. It requires logic and thinking, and it is not for the faint of heart.

TGC really outdid themselves this time.

The new area feels like an entirely new game.
