This is beta and to properly compensate or restore those currencies would mean extra work to specifically restore stuff for beta players. Pulling away focus and time away from working on improvements that are meant to make it to live.

it is pretty sparse there, with the exception of the ice rink it had during rhythm. but I don’t feel like that’s a bad thing either.... like I respect that TGC isn’t wilfully making their game endless or addictive. It’s possible to feel like your day is quietly done and you can close it and do something else. A lot of games these days bank on gaming addiction in a predatory manner, however I feel like sky’s draw for a lot of people is the social aspects of it and their friends instead.

Tgc has stated in the past they have plans to bring back the ultis and pendants, not for just candles or in game currency, but in their own words "another capacity". This was months ago already, and plus we don't even know if the shop is REALLY for ultis or pendants yet. So we should be patient and constructive with our feedback

And experience... I’d say the TS grind to get 120+ white candles in two weeks is a heck of a experience and show of devotion. And that’s just the f2p route. If someone were to straight up buy white candle backs for TS it would cost over $60 USD. Far more than a $10 AP from the past. It’s lots of work and/or money. Why shouldn’t newer players be recognized for that? Why shouldn’t they get access to ultimate rewards or pendants? Some people’s join date were affected by their devices too.

There’s no doubt that early players and vets helped contribute to sky, financially and also community wise. Sky wouldn’t be what it is if it weren’t for the people buying IAPs to keep the servers up, TGC paid fair salaries... and the amount of f2p people also keep the community active and vibrant. Everyone here contributes to the game’s wonderful experience.

Cosmetics are a thankyou, and same goes with the spirit of the Adventure Pass. I feel like a lot of vets have a lot of sentimental attachment to them, but it’s the memories you made during that time that makes it special. Not the literal cool look of it. What vets have rather, is experience and the ability to show new players all the fun things sky has and had to offer I think it’s something to be quietly proud of, like a secret talent. It’s something that is uniquely you and isn’t reliant on some old pendant

Sky is completely free to play, so paying money is a fully conscious decision on the players part. TGC wants to cater to all of the players who might not be able to pay money for things and who are patient enough to wait for it to arrive in a TS.

Its not really about keeping others from having things, but more about not making it so pass buyers got the worse deal in a way. I think there are some accusations of hoarding/selfishness that are not quite accurate. I think it takes a tough balancing act, but there are ways to be fair to new and old players, and to let pass holders not get the short stick while also giving newcomers options

I buy things in this game because I love the game and want to see it continue existing. And like stuff like this happens ALL THE TIME in other games. My friend bought persona 5 for $60. I got it for $5 on a big sale. My friend was actually really happy for me because I finally was joining him playing a game he loved. He didn't get mad that I got it $55 cheaper than him for the same game (I even got downloadable content for free that he didn't get).

I bought enchantment's pass and I've thought if it was worth it cause eventually it'll come back as a traveling spirit. And I say hell yeah to that. Collecting candles takes time and effort and it can get frustrating when you're busy in your daily life. Not only that, it can get tedious to do it everyday (not my case but I've seen people experience it). You have to be patient and know how to use your candles. I haven't been able to complete any constellation and I barely have cosmetics because of trying to save for TS. And the chance of certain spirit coming back is kinda low, especially when new seasons come with the time. But I also bought it to support TGC. It's really one of my favorite games so far and I wanna support it.

What if TGC made a tree for travelling spirits of the past seasons, that you can work your way up again very slowly to be able to obtain past ultimate gifts?

That would mean that the people who weren’t around for the seasons can still get the ultimate gifts and still pay for an adventure pass, BUT they will just get everything slower than the people who were there for the season.
@hollow bolt I had the idea that once all spirits from one season were 100% unlocked and completed, then you have to make the trip to Eden and then the quest-giver of the corresponding season will be waiting for you in Orbit where you can finally buy the Ultimate Gift for 100 hearts (100 because the black and white wings are 50 each, so the Ultimate Gifts have to be at least worth more than that).

That would be better than paying for it with real $$$ cos then at least everyone has a shot. It also sounds impossible, but a great challenge.

Coming from someone who has bought every single adventure pass since Gratitude (wasn’t in time to get the Gratitude ultimate unfortunately), I can say that to me, this is fair. It is attainable by everyone, but it will take more time for others to collect the ultimates because of how many seasonal spirits there are and how many seasons we have done already.

The way I would think of it is that the ultimate gifts would only be the same amount of hearts they costed during the season for seasonal hearts because think about it you work all the way up to the point of the ultimate gift and used lots of candles to get there just like you would during the regular season but candle costs are bumped because you are not spending actual money on the spirit so I feel like you would earn it pretty easily after working hard to unlock everything from the rest of the spirits Edit: that is if they even decide to bring them back somehow

I stand corrected. @astral hamlet I agree. It’s hideous. But apart from the very obvious visual problems where it overlaps and just plain looks very anti-sky, I object to the Facebook integration because we now have no choice but to share with FB that 1. We play Sky, and 2. That we connect with other players who May or may not be on FB. I personally am no longer on FB but I have no desire to share with FB anything. This should be an opt-in. There is no written information in the tgc privacy statement regarding when Sky chooses to share info about me or my in-game friends with FB, just that they can and do. Do I get to choose if someone I meet in Sky shares my id or similar with FB? Too many unknowns which is very FB. Facebook is a bad player. TGC have made it clear in the past that they wanted to distance Sky from FB. And now we have a great big hideous F in the game.

@sonic talon there hasn't been a progress wipe since just before iOS launch, only access wipes. A progress wipe would typically happen for big currency changes, because testing that would be crucial. A season doesn't benefit from testers being complete moths, in that sense.

also seasonal hearts might not get fixed. they said they will investigate, not give it back. dont get your hopes up, a potential fix would be they would give you your items that you bought. or nothing at all. similar things happened last season in beta and no compensation was given. someone said they went thru a bug where they bought the office cape but did not receive it and it never got compensated. There's no need for you to be salty about people who told you it won't get fixed most probably since they were actually trying to help you into getting to know how beta works, most of them have more experience in beta and have seen the non-compensation nature of beta.

So this is what I submitted to improve on Sanctuary Islands season:

I think there should be improvement on the manta cape, if it’s possible to put a shiny fringe at the bottom of the wings based on what we see on the actual manta in Prairie. Also think the tail should be more detailed in the inside as suppose to just have yellow at the end of it, maybe give the tail more structure that way and detailing maybe have the detailing in a darker faded gold with a diamond cut out at the end of the tail. The jellyfish hair I feel as well should have more of a gradient to it as suppose to being completely white all over, I expected the jellyfish hair to be slightly transparent in a certain area just as reflected on the jellyfish in the game. The water in the new Sanctuary islands area should be more turquoise in some areas and others stay dark in reflection to island water, possibly add sand castles just for a touch of playfulness? Maybe add something on the separate islands as it feels like there is not much activity or purpose to it, add the white krill jumping out of the water with the possibility of other players being able to ride it? My mention about the islands being bare I think a good idea is to add variety of fish similar to what is in the ponds and if possible a hint or coral reef underneath the water. I hope my feedback was useful 🙂
