1.Copy the link Google gives you
2.open it in another google chrome tab
3.Click on download and it will start downloading

It worked for me and several other players

APK’s won’t let you play Sky. You won’t be able to access anything but Isle, nor can you update beta. Only way to join beta is through the links provided in #beta-signup-info ^^

@wraith fjord The seasonal candles you obtained through purchasing preorder passes endlessly will likely get wiped before the next season testing starts. If it didn't, then you can use them during next season, and the rest will be converted to normal candles when the season ends. But sometimes the conversion doesn't work properly in beta so we know nothing for sure.

If you’re on android, google can take several days to actually register you as a tester. There isn’t anything TGC can do

-Open the game and wait until the donwload notification of Playstore appears

-Click the notification it'll send you to the sky beta page in Playstore

-Wait the donwload to be finished

-Repeat the process until you have downloaded the Eden

I know I already said this like, four times already but for people who were not on discord when I said this.

As most people said before, Ktjn was working with the invites for a LONG time yesterday. , the TGC staff have been trying to post the invites fair for all players from different timezones! .
But theyre all humans just like us and need to eat, sleep and rest . They also have their own personal lives.
So keep patient and thank TGC for trying their best and be fair to everyone!

There is no season going on in the beta right now. Those candles are from pre-order, and should be used when the season starts if it weren’t for the bug that literally lets you get several thousands of them. It’s very likely they will be wiped, only TGC and time can tell

They’re a really small, indie dev team based in California that works really hard to bring this amazing game to us. You guys just have to be more patient. Sky has been my escape during the lockdown in my country and has greatly helped my mental health during the pandemic. I made my first Beta friend today! Not exactly an outstanding achievement, but it’s still something I’d like to remember. They were right, the beta servers are very quiet at times compared to Live, I’ve only encountered other players 3-4 times at best though my whole playthrough, and I’ve just finished Eden.

Alright cut the funny comment for a bit. I don't mean to sound rude but the mods have stated it several times and people just don't listen (You get it). Google sometimes takes time to register you which again the mods say it takes hours or even days. Please be patient!!! Also to those waiting. A wave is coming soon but it seems like they're being overwhelmed by demands so chill out until a ping happens. WHEN it happens. IT happens. For the love of goodness please let 👏 them 👏 rest.

If you participated in the beta only for free stuff then I have no idea what to say to you. Only that you're literally hindering the devs from actually making progress in fixing Sky for tons of devices especially android with its pallet of brands and models which make it a while even for the Nintendo Switch as it has a android-like OS. Please report a bug once you see it. It's easy and only takes a few minutes!

I am excited to report that the beta seems to take significantly less battery than the live version on my phone.

I played for two hours and my phone only went down about 30%. For reference, if I don‘t keep my phone plugged in constantly, live kills that much battery in less than an hour at the same fps. ^^;;

@signal spire shepherd system has been in testing for months and it has its pros and cons. When someone has filled up that shepherd’s gauge a heart icon will appear over a newbie moth’s head. This is something only shepherds can see. And moths can see an icon over a shepherd’s head to indicate that the player can help them out.

Personally I feel like it is kind of unnecessary? Kind ppl are gonna be kind without prompting. That’s the minimal and core beauty of altruism, doing things simply because it is the right thing to do. Also what if a shepherd just wants to vibe and take a break or spend time with their friends, rather than help a moth? A moth might go up to them only to be ignored or gently turned down. This causes unnecessary expectations/assumptions. And given how TGC has changed honklocation and the tables, they want players to give consent. The shepherd icon label does not offer that at all.

I know part of the fun can be to specifically try to break the game and provoke bugs, but remember that the average player in Live probably won’t be playing like that. Instead, if you play normally in beta you are more likely to come across issues that affect normal gameplay.

When it comes to things like the shepherd badge, you can find a lot of good information in old patch notes. So do try to look those up for a deeper understanding of some things that have passed in beta.

I definitely agree with belpita: these bug reports are seen by TGC and have to be sorted by priority. The biggest ones being gamebreaking stuff that affects players of all skill levels/experience levels. Moths to vets. Super niche bugs would be set at a lower priority. Also if you did report a bug, and it still happens to go live. It doesn’t meant that TGC ignored it, it’s just on the backlog.

quackers: the fact that you’re having difficulty with it, means it’s something good to give beta-feedback on or report as a bug. Pretend to play beta as a straight-up sky-only player with no access to discord or helpboards. In-game stuff should be intuitive and accessible for most players.

Also since this is beta, some features might still be bugged and not working at their full potential. This is just how it goes sometimes.

I’d recommend for anybody that’s waiting for beta slots or to download beta to:

-Download TestFlight ahead of time (if you’re on iOS)

-Read through patch notes, bug reports, the FAQ and whatnot to get up to date on beta features

-If you have any questions, search and make sure they aren’t answered already (chances are they have been answered)

-Rest, don’t sacrifice your health for a buggy, empty beta version of a game. It isn’t the magical place some people make it out to be!

Tho to note about dev’s comments about 50 online out of 35k. That accounts for people who log in to specifically test things that were mentioned in beta-updates, or to check out specific bugs/new features. Full candle runs also take 1.5-2 hr daily. It’s important to balance out playing live vs. beta vs. IRL commitments and to find a healthy balance that you can manage.

As long as you play and send concise bug reports, and polite but constructive feedback: you are doing perfectly fine as a beta player

Divine: weeks shorter. When seasons are active the seasonal candles ingame give 1 candle each instead of a portion of seasonal wax. It’s accelerated for people to test items quicker.

carrotcake: when you react to the 🔥 in any bugreport channel, skybot always asks for reactions to identify if your report is ios/android and live/beta. Then your report is posted in its respective channel, in this case: beta.

@outer ibex ||if you really had all your ascended candles from Eden when you were reborn, then that's normal you only got one wing buff. You need to give those ascended candles to spirits via the constellation in the orbit to get extra wing buffs in the first Eden run. And of course you can unlock the wing locks later and then you'll get your wing buffs in the next Eden run.||

@vast mortar it still happens when looking at far distance like in Isle of dawn or 2nd last place in prarie. Plus that shouldn't happen is general, in other far distance places it's not that choppy. I'll just report this along with other 5 bugs.
Also does speciefic Jars disappear in ||praries Cave|| for others but doesn't in other places. I still wanna know why specific objects and buildings disappears in certain places. This is also happening in the live version.

If u can't download the app on Play Store nor Google Play Store, it is NOT a TGC issue. It is a GOOGLE issue. The update refresh rate on google is a MESS. Play the game normally when you can. Devs definitely prioritize fixing game-breaking bugs that affects all players, but smaller-niche bugs will be likely be set at a lower priority. If live gets an update and a bug you reported is still there, please do not get discouraged, the devs didn’t ignore you, the fix is just at a lower priority. Also read #beta-news when a dev shares new features and fixes... try to actively test out the stuff they mention. I also lurk around beta-screenshots and this discussion channel cause people tend to share interesting bugs they’ve discovered or want confirmation on. When giving reports, be concise about details and be polite! a tgc staff member has to read all of that.

But biggest thing is don’t worry if you don’t bump into any bugs. It’s ok to chill and take breaks when you need it! There’s lots of other active beta players

Google are having issues registering new testers, so even though you are in the beta program, they won’t let you download the app. It can take a few days before you’re allowed to!

it's not a big deal if you didn't make it into the wave. wait for the next one or wait until the content releases for live. and then join next beta waves.

you can play both beta and live. they are separate apps even if you use the same gmail or whatever for iOS.

google is slow. you can try going to google play games as well, but if that doesn't work, wait. google can take up to several days to register you as a tester. could be earlier. there's nothing we can do.

beta is not as important as your health. get sleep and make sure to be human/whatever you are.

beta IAPs are completely free, but they removed some candle purchases so people actually you know, play the game. and find bugs.

there was a bug with the seasonal candles and pass where people could buy infinite seasonal passes and get like, a million seasonal candles so they may wipe those.

@spark lance on ios, make sure you download testflight before a invite wave. then copy the link and paste it in safari. it should tell you to open testflight and then it should download. on google, click the link (no need to paste it) and then press the blue button. it should say you're in, unless you were too late. then it could take up to days to register you as a tester so be patient!

Beta isn’t worth sacrificing your health for, but i can totally understand the hype. For me, when I got into beta for the first time long ago, i got a sense of wonder starting from the beginning even though i knew where to look and what to do. And while that seems really nice, and it is; don’t forget that beta is a test platform, and that you’re volunteering your own free time to test. Take your time, so you don’t burn out the first couple of days. And don’t feel forced to play each and every day.

Lads, please don’t risk your health, dont risk anything for the sake of beta. Beta is far from the cool kid club everyone’s painting it as— it’s full of glitches and is meant for people to play test, it’s not a cool hangout club thing.
It’s not a big deal if you miss beta— don’t get hurt over it, by doing so you put TGC accountable of you being hurt and you risk the entire app getting closed down.

to know if you are a tester, on iOS, it says on TestFlight if you are a tester. on google, it's in the bottom of #beta-faq . click the link and you should be able to see if you are a tester. if you are, it'll say so. if you aren't, it will just say that the program is full and to wait.

you can ask for people to help open doors in #beta-looking-for-group. those guys are probably lifesavers for things like 8-player doors.

Keep in mind that beta access wipes can happen after beta waves so dont get too attached or drawn in by "free stuff". :3 all you do in beta is play the game all over again and search for possible bugs so they dont get into the live game. Its essentially a job you do when you have free time.

when you join beta, you start a new account. beta and live are basically two separate versions of the game. Don't get too attached to your items, progress can be wiped when tgc needs to.

If u can't download the app on Play Store nor Google Play Store, it is NOT a TGC issue. It is a GOOGLE issue. The update refresh rate on google is a MESS. Try to report the issue on Google services report, located on the Play Store settings. Remember that TGC devs are trying their best to give us our space on Beta. PATIENCE IS KEY MY FELLOW ANDROIDS

you can use the same gmail and stuff/same iOS thing (game centre? sorry don't have iOS.) and stuff as your live account because beta and live are different apps. they create different accounts automatically.

you should play beta like you play live, because most people playing live don't search for bugs. but that's good too!

I did try downloading it in browser, the "install" option is there but it won't let me because "slots are full" or something like that.

Things I found out after joining beta that I believe will help out newcomers

🔺Beta isn’t all sunshine and rainbows (legit because rainbow event is over ) but seriously- it’s lonely and boring and is only here to test out bugs which make the game wack sometimes and can be simply frustrating

🔺unlike in live, your level and cosmetics dont make you anymore special than anyone else, all beta testers are equals and are all here for one reason and that is testing bugs, not collecting cosmetics (although they are still v nice)

🔺being rude and disrespectful gets you no where, the ones who are respectful are the ones who are treated with that same respect

🔺beta isn’t a place to go just to discover spoilers. Is that’s why you’re here, you’re helping no one.

For new beta testers:
Anything you think is a bug, small or game breaking, report it! Even if it turns out to not be a bug, the fact that you thought it was will tell the devs that they might wanna change something. This was the case with the green light, where they changed the path of it because people thought it was bugged. (It used to go through 2 areas in prairie I believe?) Anything helps!

Because we use anonymous public links, we are unable to track who clicks and whether they're an active tester. Even if we essentially interviewed and vetted testers, the links would get shared elsewhere and still fill up with people circumventing the process. It's part of why we try to isolate beta chatter to this corner of discord and even I get pings from other fan servers i'm in of people copying and sharing the links externally. There is never a really good process, especially when it's largely just me handling it by myself on top of all the other daily responsibilities I have. For a tiny indie team like ours, it's just not feasible to have an incredibly involved process. Which is why we opt for the first come, first served public link because it removes any bias on our end.

if you have a bug, please report it in #beta-bugs-android or #beta-bugs-ios. in the regular game, #report-a-live-bug or #bug-reports-android.

If something unexpectedly changes, for the love of all that is good and pure in the world, please please please SUBMIT A BUG REPORT
Unless we specifically come out and say X is changing, it's probably a bug. From there I can flag it up to the design team and find out.

im not exactly sure why they don't, but imagine all the people who currently play the game coming into the discord and competing for beta slots and i guess they wouldn't be able to check who is active or not.

if you can't find the Beta on google play, try going to #questions-and-help's pins. (works for both Live and Beta.) it's on #beta-faq now too.
if you can't download from google play store, you can try downloading from google play games. otherwise, wait. this is an issue with google. it can take up to days for google to register you as a tester. check #beta-discussion-android pins for some other info i could of missed.
if iOS, i'm not sure. could be that TestFlight is being buggy. i personally don't own an iOS device, sorry.

the candles will most likely be wiped in beta, due to that one bug that allowed people to buy the seasonal pass over and over and get a million candles.

fun fact: i've never been in the beta. i'm just answering repeated questions that i know the answer to lol. i'm now in the beta, just waiting on google. and on my phone to not be dead for once >:0 (i'm not blaming google i'm blaming my phone ;-;)

here's some info on the Shepherd role from what I've experienced: the small heart above a player's head means they've just joined. You can only see it if you are a shepherd. the heart with more boxes is the shepherd. I've seem to gotten my bar to go up by making friends for the first time, giving hearts for the first time, and guiding new players. The bar can go down, but I haven't seen it do that for a while.

majority of people don't play beta as seriously as the live version. it's very lonely and full of bugs, while progress could also be wiped at any time - setting you back to being a moth again. most testers come online to test out new content, which is the purpose of the program thus, there's not really much of a risk in missing events in the live app

Well, every time the invite goes out, (and it can come out any time) the chat goes chaotic. We do not want to deal with turning it off and on.

You may or may not miss things in Beta, because you're bug hunting. but you should really prioritize your Live account, because the beta could be progress wiped. You can have both a Live and Beta account, even if you use the same gmail/iOS thing (game centre??) for the accounts, since they are both separate apps, they will create different accounts automatically.

We don’t know when invites come out, but there are more until they tell us there are no more I believe. The reason why they don’t tell us is that it would cause heavy camping at the link and the chat would become chaotic and people would get angry at the people running it because they didn’t get in. Because of campers.

yeah beta events are really short and come before events in live for the most part, so you have nothing to worry about regarding the live version of the game. what we really need you for is bug hunting, not making an immense amount of progress.

Beta has, and probably will always, be more empty than live. Live has millions of players, while beta only has a few thousand. The majority of my friends don't play everyday, and many I have never met again. Once new content pops up, the servers will be a bit more crowded, but even then it's still empty.
