Sky is very graphics intensive. I understand this may be frustrating for users with less powerful devices. We optimized as much as we could but we can't make it possible for low-end devices that were not made for graphics-intense gaming. Regardless if they're from 2017 or 2020.

vulkan offers higher performance and better cpu/gpu usage than openGL. many device manufacturers are switching to it as the standard, but that is not the case for others.

When stuff is in development, I don't actually get to see any of it. it all comes through code as text strings. Occasionally we'll have screenshots and unpolished video clips of prototypes, but I have to do most of my job without visuals....unless I slither over to another dev's desk to see what they're working on. @blazing sail it could just be controller only. Tgc already has that down pat. I swear it would take them no time at all to release on Apple TV. It was the first platform that Sky was supposed to be on. There’s no technical reason not to. Building a tvOS app is basically some configuration a few icons and you’re done unless you want to support the Siri remote which is a pain to support.

I’ve just finished playing the sub level of that. It’s fun, but what I love is the attention to detail in the controls. I use a controller. I hate playing games with the Siri remote. I’ve not seen a game use the Siri remote well. I would not expect a Sky to translate well to it either. The interaction is too complex. And they already have a really polished controller support. The only thing I’m thing is missing is the ability to chat on the Apple TV. The switch has the touch screen for chat but what happens when it’s docked?

Yes that group was fab. I don’t like FB however the medium for posting reports was amazing with no limits, threaded conversations and so on. It was far superior to discord imo however it’s not well loved and discord seems to be perceived as “safer”. It was great because FB had built a great system but then you had to put up with all the other yuck that FB built too.

This here is a pain. There’s no opportunity to discuss in a thread that doesn’t get interrupted with “can I get my beta data over to live” or similar. As rob says bug reports a posted and then lost so you don’t know if you’re duplicating. And there’s no way to comment on a bug report to add more information without it being disjointed. Discord is a great chat room but for bug reporting it’s really not very good. The bots that have been set up are clever but they are, as rob says, troublesome and awkward. They’re a work around a gap in the system.

@vapid briar I know that. The problem is we were sending each other QT codes from beta, but even through my friend accepted neither of us were added to each other's constellation. On my side, it didn't show that she'd accepted my QT code; on her side it said that she'd already friended me.

if you're already friends on beta, you can't send QR codes. If the QR icon with their name is still hovering outside the favorite friend constellation, one or both of you may need to tap on it and hit "confirm" to complete the friend request.

We weren't already friends on beta, we were trying to friend there. She was confirming, but on my side beta wasn't showing that she had accepted my friend request. The only options it gave me were to delete the request that I'd sent.
It wasn't allowing me to access her request at all.

@woeful lodge No but I messed with it and actually found a way to unlink the account "even though you cant" but it seems (because Android) whatever email you use will ALWAYS keep the progress. So downloading the game using another Gmail account in the app store or Google play will bassicaly reset it. And then you can chose which account you want to use (email) but I'm fine with my account now its not perfect but I'll deal with it.

it's stuff like network improvements, art polish, moved the X object 3 pixels to the left, updated localization strings, adjustments to to the murals on the boat, camera issues corrected. yes the recharge fix should be in. added more vfx and sfx, fixed clipping issues, blobs, terrain, saturation, oh! here's one, some matchmaking adjustments to the secret area so people can't prey on cyan cape wearers to get into the office without being guided by a friend. moved seasonal candles around, poses of the memory fragments for the seasonal spirits. adjusted animations and particle effects on the new expressions, tuning for the circle on the carryball, cutscene adjustments, deploy new servers, adjustments to the rails the colored light are on, fixed it so players holding hands with the leader also get quest credit when completing one of the light quests, fix for a checkpoint issue in eden, more timing adjustments to the green light quest, rebake the levels after all the adjustments. sneep and snorp.

it might be that you don't have enough free storage space. it's recommended to have at least 3gb of free space.
also, if you're on android, try clearing cache+data, powering your device completely down, restarting and reinstalling the game from Google Play Store or Google Play Games. Be sure to link your account before uninstalling to save your progress.

app did you watch the TGC Gnomon livestream a couple months back? in it they talked about blobs. it's a term they use for the special way they make terrain in the engine sky runs on. almost all the terrain in sky is made of "blobs", including clouds.

So summary was: anything natural looking and rounded is made of blobs, so the designer doesn't make an exact shape, but instead kinda drops 3d paint on the canvas, which merges with other 3d paint nearby.
Other things that are more structured, like buildings and jagged rocks like in Eden are meshes, which the designers create exactly
Blobs take up less rendering power for phones, which is why prairie and wasteland can look quite elaborate, with less lag than valley or eden

There’s the regular 4 quests for today
Then there’s a single special quest that you get in the new area in the wasteland

@last stump beta and live are separate games, so if you became a beta tester it wouldn’t have any effect on your live account. Rather you’d have a beta account and a live account. You can’t use your beta account to play with live friends, but you’d still be able to play with them on your live account.

@pale lichen You don't need a special expression to meditate! For meditation quests, you have to find gratitude shrines in the location the quest hints at. There will be a glowy white circle with a sit prompt like in temples

@spark lance The spirit with the chibi mask is in forest! It's in the area with the long river and the stars in treehouses. If you follow along the river, there will be a cave to the right with crabs, the spirit is there.
